Cochise Is Fully Himself On First LP In Two Years “Why Always Me?”

Some people live life carefree tenfold. One of those rappers is Florida native Cochise and he makes that very clear in his loose and sometimes blatantly unserious songs. However, he’s not one to take his existence on this planet nor in the music industry for granted. In a recent interview with Hypebeast surrounding the release of his new album, WHY ALWAYS ME?, Cochise explains that he’s just happy to be doing what he loves and doing so by not conforming to any trends. “I don’t have all these collaborations or co-signs. But I’m still here. By the grace of God,” he explains. He adds that this mindset helped him come up with the title.

Furthermore, it ties into his goals for this first tape in two years. Indirectly, he tells any aspiring musicians the key to becoming successful under your own terms. “I’m not trying to please anybody. I’m focused on my circle. You gotta find your own fan base and keep working with them. Find that group and lock in.” He certainly sounds in his element on WHY ALWAYS ME? no matter sort of beat he hops on. The first two tracks especially sound like signature Cochise as he gets absolutely enveloped into the epic intro “HOOK MAN,” as well as the mind-melting “GOOGLE ME.” It’s a project that is here to have fun and be itself, and we think his fans will find that to be true as well.

Cochise & Amine Are A Fun Pairing On “NASTY”

Since October of last year, Palm Bay, Florida rapper Cochise has been dropping single after single. 10 songs have been released in this span, with “NASTY” featuring Amine being the latest addition. With this pretty extensive stretch, it’s making us wonder how many songs are going to be on this next album. Will they all make the cut, or will some be left alone? However, this question is nearly not as important as the one fans are asking which is, “When is it coming?” According to Cochise’s Instagram post hyping up the release of him and Amine’s “NASTY”. “ALBUM SOON. BILLS ARE DUE”, he wrote.

For now, we are just going to have wait patiently and keep his recent material in our minds as fresh as possible. When it comes to “NASTY”, Cochise is giving us what we are well accustomed to at this point. That is of course really animated and zany rapping with a nice dose of humor added into the mix. The beat (as usual) is also well put together and energetic. Lex Luger and CHASETHEMONEY can be credited in this case. Overall, there are few people out there who are surprised by the Amine feature. To be honest, we aren’t. He shares a lot of similar qualities that Cochise does, especially on the delivery side. It’s a solid collab for sure and we think you should give it a spin.

Quotable Lyrics:

Give her nan’, I’m like, “Don’t forget the nuts”
I’m like, “Don’t forget the nuts”
She like, “Damn, I didn’t know”
I’m like, “Don’t forget the nuts”
Now she tellin’ me her problems
I’m like, “Shut up, show your butt” (Shut up)

SNOT And Cochise Sound Triumphant On New Single “Hilarious”

SNOT and Cochise made a splash with their 2021 collab “Tell ‘Em.” It was bouncy, playful, and super catchy. The duo showcased a lot of chemistry on the song, especially with their ability to swap bars back and forth. Fans were under the impression there would be more SNOT and Cochise songs coming, but it took three years for the duo to deliver a proper follow-up. Thankfully, “Hilarious” is worth the wait. It’s a completely different vibe from “Tell ‘Em,” as it puts the two rappers in celebration mode.

The instrumental is night and day with regards to the duo’s previous song. “Tell ‘Em” had a jittery, night time feel to it. “Hilarious,” on the other hand, feels more energetic. The synths are bright, like a summer party that started during the day. The synths do a lot of the heavy lifting. They evoke the same feel as Jay-Z’s “Ignant Sh*t.” That’s the last Jay comparison that’s going to be made, though. SNOT and his partner in crime are not trying to dazzle the listener with wordplay. It’s all catchy vocals riffs and Auto Tuned trash talk. And it sounds great. Cochise’s vocals sounds particularly smooth on the back end of the song.

Sunshine State rapper Cochise has been at it for several years now, but he has not gotten enough love. He is colorful and zany style is what has fans coming back for more. Cochise Keeps Perfecting Hype Ear Candy With New Single “YOSHIMITSU”: Stream

Cochise previously kicked off his 2024 with his feature on the Lyrical Lemonade album cut “First Night,” and he’s following up on that quickly with a much-teased and much-anticipated single. Moreover, this new song “YOSHIMITSU” is exactly what fans expect from him: a bubbly, charismatic, synth-led, repetitive, and above all fun banger. It’s a formula and approach that the Florida rapper’s been perfecting ever since his massive break with the $NOT-assisted “Tell Em.” Add on top of that a lot of social media savvy, an engaging and beloved personality, and complete melodic focus with his work, and you have a recipe that could feed families of young rap fans for years.

Furthermore, Cochise is also know for being very prolific and actively engaged when it comes to releasing and promoting new music. For example, last year, two of his final 2023 singles came out just a couple of weeks apart, those being “LUKAKU” and “HOP IN THE WHIP.” Even though the 25-year-old drops a lot and doesn’t really switch up his style too often, it’s clear that he has enough quality control, good sonic instincts, and talent to turn his hedonistic flexes into pretty distinct cuts. One interesting metric he reflects in this writer’s eyes is that, if you’re a new listener, any one of his cuts could be the perfect introduction to his style. That’s a pretty hard thing to even conceptualize and aim for in one’s music, so props are in order for creating that balance.

Cochise Has Fans Going Crazy With New Single “LUKAKU”

The state of Florida might have the most diverse and unique rappers out of them all. We have seen so many voices turn into stars whether it be in the underground or the mainstream. One that sort of teeters on that fine line between the two is Cochise. He is not as popular as a Kodak Black, but he does not have 500,000 monthly listeners either. In fact, he currently has close to 5 million.

Cochise has been giving fans quite a decent amount of material to chew on over the course of this year. Before the release of his newest single, “LUKAKU,” he has gone on to put out four others as well. In addition, one of those, “KANEKI,” is a part of his seven-track EP, NO ONE’S NICE TO ME. He might have another one on the way soon.

Listen To “LUKAKU” From Cochise

Just last Friday, (October 20), Cochise gave us the rage-induced banger, “CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.” It definitely has a lot of similarities to the new Lil Uzi Vert album, Pink Tape. “LUKAKU” is a little less hyper and more fun and lower key. It has a more bright and playful beat to pair with his animated “Yee Yee” adlibs. Fans in the Instagram comments are already messing with the track heavy. One says, “Cochise is such a vibe it’s crazy.” Another says, “OLD COCHISE IS BACK LETS GOOOO.”

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single from Cochise, “LUKAKU?” Is this the best single he has put out this year? Do you think a new EP or album is on the way pretty soon? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest breaking news around Cochise, as well as all of the hottest song drops.

I thought I told you, I got power like I’m 50 (I thought I told you)
I thought I told you could throw it like a frisbee
