Shenseea Is Determined To Have A Long-Lasting Love On “Neva Neva”

Shenseea is known for writing catchy and rhythmic dancehall/R&B cuts over the past several years. However, even with all of her singles that she has dropped, the albums are a rarity. In fact, the Kingston, Jamaica native has only put out one record and that happened back in 2022. That project was called ALPHA and had quite the feature list of 21 Savage, Tyga (2x), Megan Thee Stallion, Offset, Sean Paul, and Beenie Man. Hopefully, Shenseea is close to a sophomore release after dropping a new song “Neva Neva.”

This is now her fourth offering of the year, with the first being “Hit & Run” with Masicka and Di Genius back in January. She did have a big moment in February when she helped provide a song for her birthplace and one of its icons, Bob Marley. Shenseea performed “No Woman No Cry” for the late legend’s biographical film Bob Marley: One Love. Following that, she would go on to write a pretty raunchy cut “Die For You” in late March.

Now, she is back with “Neva Neva,” a track about being fed up with men’s games and wants true love. She appears to have found someone she connects with and is not going to let anyone get in the way of it. “And now you know seh mi a think ’bout you night and a day / Love you, love you, love you, don’t know what else to say / Try fi get the ting, turn inna eternity / That’s what me hope and pray, yeah.” Overall though, the song may be the weakest of the bunch, as the beat feels generic and the chorus repeats itself too much. Erica Banks has been putting on a clinic over the last few months, especially on YouTube. The DeSoto, Texas rapper and performer has been releasing raunchy and wild singles with accompanying twerk-filled music videos. Most of them have been renditions of previous hit rap songs from the likes of Gucci Mane and Nicki Minaj. While there might be a lot of viewers due to the content of the visuals, Erica has sneakily proven that she has a style that is separating herself from the crowded pack of femcees. Over the weekend, Erica Banks dropped off another track on the platform called “I Ain’t Fresh” and it is going quite viral.

One of the main reasons why is because of the song’s title and music video. If you love keeping up with internet culture and memes, you will recognize a man wearing a striped baby blue Ralph Lauren polo shirt, blue jeans, and baby blue New Balance 574s. Your eyes are not deceiving you either, that is indeed the “I Ain’t Fresh” man from the viral video that swept across all of social media. The original video was recorded by a couple of women outside of a Texas Whataburger. They ruthlessly roasted his fit, but now he is a star in the making.

His name is Derrick Lambert, and he calls Arkansas home. Erica is definitely smart for this move because the video and song is still trending on YouTube. At the time of writing, it sits at number 42 with over 91,000 views. Throughout the hilarious video, Erica is twerking all over Derrick and it looks he is having an absolute ball. As for the song itself, she is rapping with tons of charisma, toxicity, and with a contagious nonchalance. The California artist has not always been viewed in a positive light for his “corny” raps. Listeners were especially calling him out just about two and a half weeks ago for his recent offering “Femme Fatale.” The nearly NSFW track featuring Coi Leray and Kaliii was highly criticized for feeling outdated and the performances being underwhelming. But G-Eazy might be winning some of those haters back with a newly released single “The Road Back.”

If the title suggests anything it is that Eazy is looking to get back into his bag and deliver some heat. That is exactly what “The Road Back” is, as Young Gerald is essentially reintroducing himself to the audience. He gets pretty lyrical on this record, and it goes over well, as he raps with a lot of charisma and hunger. However, this track is not easy to track down unfortunately.

Tems Recreates An Afro-beat Classic With “Love Me JeJe”

Tems has grown into her own ever since hip-hop fans discovered her on Future and Drake’s 2022 collaboration “WAIT FOR U.” It went on to become one of Hendrix’s most popular songs on Spotify for quite some time. The R&B jam even peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, scoring her first chart-topper. Fairly soon now, she will be looking to carry all of that momentum onto her debut album. Tems is showing she is ready to take that next leap with one of the project’s singles, “Love Me JeJe.”

Just over a week ago, the Nigerian singer and songwriter teased BORN IN THE WILD on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “BORN IN THE WILD. The Album. May 2024.” Since then, she has not announced the exact release date, but hopefully it will hit streaming services within the first two weeks of the month. We also do not have a confirmed tracklist either, according to Genius.

Both songs are stunning and it is hard to pick which we love more.

The Boston, Massachusetts rapper and singer hinted at this song dropping yesterday with sudsy thirst trap on Instagram. “No filter. New music @ midnight ,” she wrote to her followers. “Can’t Come Back” sees Coi take on a more subdued delivery as she sings with resentment. That hatred stems from past love interests wasting her time.

This is his first solo release since 2022’s “Miss My Dawgs” with Lil Wayne. Over the last year or so, his singles have been collaborations with Tyga mainly. Tracks like “Brand New,” “PLATINUM,” and “PARTy T1M3” were all for their 2023 team effort Hit Me When U Leave The Klub: The Playlist. But “KNOCKA,” according to Genius, is looking to be a promotional teaser for Just Re’d Up 3.

On “KNOCKA,” YG is rapping with a lot of energy like always, but his flow may be the most impressive part. Glokk40Spaz Releases Trippy Single “Xans” For Upcoming Project

Georgia might be one of the most cutthroat states for rappers. So many try to make it to the top and only a few have left indelible marks on the genre. Artists like Andre 3000, Future, Young Thug, Jeezy, and T.I., for example, are some of names in rare air. One thing that all five of these artists have in common is a recognizable sound. Glokk40Spaz certainly sounds like he could be one of those unique voices with his new single “Xans.”

The 20-year-old rapper hails from the city of Decatur and has been trying to get his career on the fast track to stardom since 2020. Today is our first time covering one of his pieces of music, so are we thrilled for the long overdue opportunity. Glokk40Spaz’s “Xans” showcases are mumbly, auto tuned delivery across an extremely spacey beat. The instrumental has some heavy synths that pop up, and it gives the track a vintage 80s tinge.

Admittedly, Glokk’s flows are little jumbled and at times, he tries to pack in a lot of words into one bar. But otherwise, it is a chill listen that is has its replay value. Chicken P is someone we shed some light on just about a week ago when he featured on a new Myaap single “Actin Up.” Even though it was a wild banger, it did not feature what he could do for a full song. Well, today is our first full coverage of Chicken P and we are going to be looking at one he just dropped called “Ain’t Running Out.” What is exciting about this release in particular as well, is the fact that this will be a single for a new project he has in the works.

He has been dropping music since 2018, so he is no rookie at all. But over the last few months or so, he has really picked up some momentum. “Ain’t Running Out” sees Chicken P flexing hard with bars about expensive and exclusive clothing, jewelry, and lavish cars. The stunning Rolls-Royce convertible shown in the music video shows his dedication to sticking to the themes in the songs he creates and implementing them into the visuals.

FTO Sett Doesn’t Want You To “Duck No Smoke” On New Single

Sett, who also goes by FTO Sett, is a Memphis, Tennessee rapper who we have not covered for all the best reasons. He was recently arrested in late February for a connection to a drug and firearms case. On top of that his bond was revoked so he is still awaiting his fate. His next court date was for March 5 and there was no clear-cut reason at the time of the report as to why his bond was rescinded.

The last time we spoke about FTO Sett musically was for a collaboration with Lil Baby called “Can’t Be F***ed With.” That hit streaming back in mid-January. As for 2023, the still budding rapper delivered his debut tape with 29 tracks and a host of features on Life of a SlimeCrook. In the present, regardless of his legal issues, FTO is looking to feed his fans.

Desiigner Mixes Country & Trap On “Big Dawg”

Desiigner was one of those rappers that was being painted as a one hit wonder. On top of that label, he was also mistakenly being referred to as Future early on in his career. If you ask most casual listeners of the genre about the first time they heard “Panda” they will most likely tell you they thought it was Pluto. For a brief moment, he proved the doubters wrong. But lately Desiigner has gotten lost in the shuffle, and know he is looking to make some stylistic changes on “Big Dawg.”

That switch-up sees him trying his hand at blending country and trap music. This is not anything groundbreaking for hip-hop, but it is cool to see Desiigner experiment a bit. Country and rap crossing paths has become more popular as of late with acts like Shaboozey and JaeyBxrd making some waves. So, it makes sense to continue to push those ideas forward.
