YG Drops A Speaker “KNOCKA” With New Single

YG was one of the hottest names out of California when he came up in the early 2010s. He was celebrated — deservedly so — for projects like My Krazy Life and Still Brazy. Each provided tons of bangers and some terrific G-funk nods. However, his last few records such as STAY DANGEROUS, I GOT ISSUES, and etc. have not been nearly talked about as much. But YG is proving that he still has plenty left in the tank with “KNOCKA.”

This is his first solo release since 2022’s “Miss My Dawgs” with Lil Wayne. Over the last year or so, his singles have been collaborations with Tyga mainly. Tracks like “Brand New,” “PLATINUM,” and “PARTy T1M3” were all for their 2023 team effort Hit Me When U Leave The Klub: The Playlist. But “KNOCKA,” according to Genius, is looking to be a promotional teaser for Just Re’d Up 3.

They believe it will arrive sometime in July of this year and it would be following up the second entry in the series which dropped back in 2013. On “KNOCKA,” YG is rapping with a lot of energy like always, but his flow may be the most impressive part. Every bar ends with some form of an “uh” sound, tying into the phonetic spelling of “KNOCKA.” The beat is also pretty addictive with a killer sample loop. Be sure to support YG with the link above.

Midwxst & DC The Don Reunite For Reflective Single “FIRE”

If we had to name artists that impressed us thoroughly in 2023, it would be a pretty long list. One of them we would have to include would be midwxst. He is not necessarily a new kid on the block, but he definitely snuck up on us. Last year, the Indiana multi-hyphenate went and dropped his debut album E3 and it saw him operate in the lanes of hyper pop, R&B, hip-hop, and etc. He really went for it all and it paid off. Fairly soon, he will be following that up with another project sometime this year and to promote it, midwxst is back with a new single “FIRE.”

This is not the first track that is rumored to be on BACK IN ACTION 4.0. In late February, midwxst dropped “mistakes” with 9lives, which was a cut about toxic relationships. Similarly, “FIRE” explores those themes, but also sees him reflect on how he has been struggling to feel happy with himself. He is also having a hard time admitting his faults, especially when he says, “I’ve had problems since I was a youngin’ / Need to cut out the lies and the frontin’.”

Like “mistakes,” midwxst has decided to tap a guest. This time fellow emo rapper and singer DC The Don is joining him. These two have a solid work history together, featuring on a couple of songs for each other. While their voices do sound similar back to back, DC does pen a solid verse. “My ex-b**** just wanna be famous / ‘Cause she a crash-out, hit ninety while she lane switch / Afraid to die, but she don’t wanna die nameless (Ooh).”

Montell Fish Along With Second Alias DJ Gummy Bear, Tease Upcoming EP With “Irrational”

Montell Fish is an exciting and enticing artist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that is always mixing things up. It is a big reason why he has becoming popular but yet still flies under the radar. He likes to experiment with separate genres such as lo-fi soft pop, chill hip-hop, and R&B. It is quite the mouthful, but it leads to some excellent pieces of music. Today, we are covering Montell Fish and dj gummy bear’s new collaborative single “Irrational.”

However, dj gummy bear is not a separate entity entirely. Essentially, he is a second alias of Montell Fish. According to the Spotify profile, he is “a character from the brain of Montell Fish. Used as a way to further experiment with sounds, concepts, and musical ideas.” This single has a strong dance/lo-fi feel to it with its steady and fast-paced drums. Montell also takes the reins on production here.

On top of that, this single from Montell is a teaser to his upcoming EP. According to Genius, Intercession Between Charlotte is a six-song tape that will be available this Friday, March 15. Chief Keef & Mike WiLL Made-It Announce Collaboration Tape “DIRTY NACHOS” & Release Date

Without a doubt, Mike WiLL Made-It and Chief Keef are some of the most respected artists we have in modern hip-hop. Both have contributed immensely to the trap rap/pop rap subgenres for over two decades. Each have worked with the best of the best and have numerous classics under their belts. However, these two do not have the most work experience as a duo. But, that is all changing in a couple of days. From numerous sources, as well as Mike’s Instagram, we have word that he and Chief Keef will be dropping a mixtape called DIRTY NACHOS.

We originally reported that the lead single for this new team effort would actually be previewing Almighty So 2. This has been a project that Keef’s fans have been eager to get their hands on for years. The first Almighty So dropped back in 2013 and there are rumors that its sequel will be out by March 29. Hopefully, that rings true. But for now, we are getting more music from the rapper and producer duo.

Instead of it being for the Almighty So 2 project, “DIRTY NACHOS” will be for the mixtape of the same name. Fans can expect it to be out this Friday, March 15. Even though we only have ever gotten five tracks from Chief Keef and Mike WiLL Made-It, this should still be a fun listen. Cam’ron & Swizz Beatz’s “Last Stop” Promotes KITH’s Upcoming Spring Collection & Soundtrack

KITH and hip-hop have been collaborating for quite a long time. The luxury streetwear company has been around since the early 2010s and has been thriving for some time now. Today, the clothing brand and two other legends are teaming up for an exciting campaign in the spring. According to HipHopDX, KITH will be dropping a spring clothing collection, along with an accompanying soundtrack. They have recruited fellow New York affiliates Cam’ron and Swizz Beatz to get things started.

They have done so by releasing the lead single “Last Stop” and a music video. KITH is also forming a record label from this venture to bring more authenticity to everything. Cam’ron is not a stranger to KITH and their campaigns, though as they have worked extensively in years past. Ronnie Fieg, the creator of KITH had this to say about the exciting work they have for the upcoming season.

Conway the Machine loves to drop frequently as most know and that is fine by us when he is dropping stuff like this. That “stuff” is two new tracks with production from some of the very best in the business. The Griselda superstar teams up with Cool & Dre for “Give & Give” and Conductor Williams on “Mutty.” Apparently, they will be a part of Side B version on one of Conway’s many projects from 2023.

According to Genius, they will be on his lone solo release WON’T HE DO IT. What is really cool about “Give & Give/Mutty” is the stark contrast between them. The Cool & Dre collab is more upbeat and it complements Conway’s monotone delivery well. Then, when it is the Conductor’s turn, things slow down and the Buffalo native rides a more dusty and low-key beat.

He is bringing some top-tier rhyming schemes and bars on each one which is no surprise. Young Nudy Reveals Crazy Metro Boomin Track, Producer Hints At Collaboration Project In The Works

Over the years, Metro Boomin has built a strong rapport with so many rappers. His most successful ones are with Future, 21 Savage, and Travis Scott. One of his more underrated teammates is Young Nudy. The Atlanta, Georgia native had a nice 2023 with the release of his solo studio album Gumbo. That featured the viral hit song “Peaches & Eggplants.” It got so big in fact, that he decided to bring the hype up even higher with a remix. Nudy did this by bringing on two of the hottest female MCs in the game, Latto and Sexyy Red.

For 2024, he is looking to build on that success with some music with Metro. Their most recent effort landed on the wildly popular HEROES & VILLAINS tape from the end of 2022. “Umbrella” with 21 Savage was one of the darkest tracks on the record. It featured killer piano keys and relentless flows from the related rappers. With that feather in the cap of both Metro and Nudy, a new one might need to be added.

Nudy Is Helping Metro Gear Up For A Bigger 2024

The “EA” rapper hopped on Instagram Live to share a preview of an upcoming single. From what we can hear it sounds sinister. There are sharp string sections and a soulful sample that kick the track off. Then, the new “Metro!” tag comes in and the beat drops abruptly but beautifully and hits hard. Metro reposted the clip to his IG story and captioned it saying, “Too early in the year to start talking bout the Nudy tape yet [zipped shut mouth emoji fire emoji].” This a loose announcement, but on top of the the Future and JID tapes, Nudy is getting one too at some point.

The Alchemist Unveils Exciting Features For New EP, “Flying High 2”

On Friday (November 3), one of hip-hop’s most legendary, hard-working, and enduring producers is dropping yet another project. Moreover, The Alchemist just shared some very promising additional details on his forthcoming EP, Flying High Part Two. Of course, the main thing that most people look for on producer-led projects like these are the featured guests. While any offering from Uncle Al is exciting no matter if he’s solo or paired up with someone else, the special guests on this five-track offering are right up his alley. They are all former collaborators that he has spectacular chemistry with, so we can’t wait to see what they cook up.

Furthermore, let’s go into this EP’s revealed tracklist. In contrast to its excellent predecessor, Flying High Part Two will contain a solo song as its opener, “Turkish Link.” It’s unclear whether this is just an instrumental from The Alchemist or if he’ll be spitting bars for it. Given his recent “Nothing Is Freestyle,” in which he raps with ease, confidence, and skill- plus the fact that “Turkish Link” has an instrumental version on its Side B- we can assume that he’ll tap into that once again. Speaking of instrumental versions, one will be available for each of the five main songs, making this a ten-cut effort in total.

The same was true for the original Flying High, whose four tracks paired up with their instrumental versions to make for an eight-song EP. However, another difference present in its sequel is the amount of features. We have one for each of the remaining four songs on Flying High Part Two: Conway The Machine on “Phil Drummond,” Action Bronson on “Vertigo,” Oh No on “Royal Hand” (credited as Gangrene, the duo comprising of Oh No and The Alchemist), and Curren$y on “Pain Different.” Whereas its first installment had two MCs on each main song, its sequel keeps the spotlight solely on one lyricist- and one producer, of course.

Meanwhile, with all this in mind, it’s hard to be anything less than excited for Flying High Part Two. With other albums like Faith Is A Rock with MIKE and Wiki and VOIR DIRE with Earl Sweatshirt under his belt for 2023, the iconic beatmaker is going to keep building this year up to be one of his best.
