MGK & Trippie Redd Deliver Their Version Of An Emo Anthem On “Lost Boys”

Trippie Redd and mgk have been two of Ohio’s biggest hip-hop stars for well over a decade combined. Part of the reason for their everlasting success is their ability to switch up their respective sounds on the fly. Both of artists have been flourishing in the emo and pop punk spaces over the last few years and that especially goes for mgk. Coming Friday March 29, Trippie and mgk will be dropping a new EP together and to promote it they have just dropped “lost boys.”

This is the lead single for genre : sadboy, a 10-song project. So far, fans are not looking forward to what these two have to offer on it. People are in mgk’s comments saying how this is the “worst album of the year incoming.” They also feel mgk, who is now 33, is too old to be making music like this. “We got dudes pushin 30 doin this. wtf man ”

Time will tell how this project turns out, but for now we have “lost boys” to discuss. We can see why music fans are not too happy about what this could be. At end of the day, it is a passable track, but not too much more.

Back in late September the iconic producer from North Carolina, Jermaine Dupri, put out an R&B jam with Jacquees called “Pick It Up.” Fast forward to early January, Dupri essentially announced that this was going to be the lead single for an upcoming EP. “Yo, what’s up y’all. I’m in here trynna get this mix done, on my new record featuring Nelly, Ashanti, and Juicy J… It’s an EP [I’m putting out] on Mass Appeal.”

Dupri continues, “The first single was with me and Jacquees called “Pick It Up.” This gon’ be the second song. That’s what we on today.” We can officially say that the second teaser is out now.

This will follow up her 2023 album, Noir Or Never from March 3.

Che Noir writes, “The Color Chocolate EP drops January 26th. Full Album coming soon after. Yall ready for some new Ché Noir music? For the lead single “Junior High,” Che, Evidence, and Droog are all recalling their past back when they were young. Drake’s upcoming EP Scary Hours 3, which drops tomorrow (Friday, November 17), has fans pretty excited. Even though he said that he’s taking a break from music after the release of For All The Dogs and his It’s All A Blur tour with 21 S*vage this year, it seems like this is potentially the last gas left in the tank for him in 2023. Of course, Drizzy could prove us wrong with some more drops or activity in the future, just as he did with his announcement of the Big As The What? tour with J. Cole. However, some fans believe that there’s a thorn in his side that is what actually compelled him to drop Scary Hours 3, and that’s Joe Budden.

Moreover, a lot of fans took to social media to “thank” the rapper for supposedly prompting Drake to put out more material. This is because Joe Budden’s criticism of For All The Dogs and its artist in general really rubbed the Toronto native the wrong way. Most likely, this idea centers around the OVO mogul wanting to prove the Slaughterhouse MC wrong with more solid bar-writing, straight-up hip-hop tracks, and probably a few subliminal or direct disses here and there. Other fans who subscribe to this theory, though, are just excited to see whether the former Everyday Struggle host rips into this project, too.

Of course, this is all purely speculative and probably just a meme or head-canon moment for most people. However, since Drake said that he wrote this material in a very raw way directly after For All The Dogs dropped, it’s clear that Joe Budden is a big story and moment in his recent life that will likely inform this collection of tracks. Even if this is just a joke or doesn’t turn out to be as obvious on Scary Hours 3, it’s going to be hard not to keep Budden in the back of your head while listening. Trippie Reveals All We Need To Know About New EP, “Saint Michael”

Trippie Redd has developed quite the following over his fairly long career. He won over many with his blends of trap and emo rap. This led him to tons of commercial and some critical acclaim. His A Love Letter To You series is is halo series of albums that have provided us with plenty of classic tracks over time. Unfortunately, Trippie decided to close the book on it just a few months ago with the fifth installment. He confirmed this in a message to his fans.

“A Love Letter To You 5 is gonna be, if not the best body of music I’ve ever did, one of them. For sure. This is the last one.” He continued, “This the last A Love Letter to You so… I done put my all into it. I’ve been working on this for like, three to four years. Dropping projects, but still having music tucked to the side for this project.” While this was heartbreaking news, this certainly did not mean the end of the road for Trippie by any means.

In fact, he is about to be dropping, presumably, one more project before the end of the year. It is not a surprise comeback of the series, but rather an all-new EP. It is going to be seven tracks and is coming on Friday, November 10. On Genius, there are no features listed. Trippie made this announcement a short time ago on his IG. “SAINT MICHAEL THE SUPRISE ALBUM FRIDAY 7 songs now 7 songs later … 14 comment below I’d like to thank you all for supporting me let’s take a moment to space our minds and rage through depression to rid the negativity ”

The Alchemist And Action Bronson Are A Fun Pair On “Vertigo” From “Flying High 2”

The Alchemist is one of the busiest producers of 2023. In fact, he may just be the most active one this year. It all began in the middle of February with a single featuring Larry June, “60 Days.” That turned out to be the lead track off of their collaborative record, The Great Escape. From that point on, there was no slowing down for Uncle Al. A couple of months later, he and Domo Genesis got together for No Idols. Additionally, others like Roc Marciano, MIKE and Wiki, as well as Earl Sweatshirt all got to work on their respective efforts with him too.

But, before those tapes, he put out a solo EP, Flying High at the end of June. The Alchemist grabbed Earl for that as well, including billy woods, Boldy James, and more for the four tracks to go along with instrumental versions. Now, he is getting ready for his seventh project. It will be the sequel to Flying High. Supposedly dropping at midnight tonight, November 3, the format will remain the same. However, this time there will be five songs and their accompanying instrumentals.
