Drake Mocks KSI’s “New Banger” On Adin Ross’ Livestream

Drake is as terminally online as the rest of us, so it’s not much of a surprise that he saw the outrageous reaction to KSI’s new song, “Thick Of It” featuring Trippie Redd. A lot of people clowned this new release for a variety of reasons, and it seems like the 6ix God wants to join in on the fun. Moreover, he recently left a comment on Adin Ross’ recent livestream on Kick, asking the moderators to “play KSI new banger for the max.” When the song played, Ross couldn’t help but joke about the mods’ immediate efforts to please Drizzy. “Yo, mods, so Drake tells you to jump off a bridge, you’re going to jump off of a bridge. Are y’all some d**k-suckers?” he expressed.

Ironically enough, we wonder if Drake has shown love to KSI before, as the rapper and YouTuber might now feel exactly how the Toronto superstar does. “You’re going to come to a point in life where people you thought were friends or people you thought were close to you, they might switch up,” Aubrey recently ranted at Toronto’s Nostalgia party. “They might try to move funny with you. They might stab you in the back, they might do a lot of things to you. You’ll come to that realization, wherever you’re at in life. You’ve probably been there and you’ll be there again, that’s how life is. But look, sometimes, it’s you and you alone by yourself. Sometimes it’s you alone with your thoughts.”

But Drake’s comments towards other rappers aren’t just playful and mocking: they can also be quite petty and combative. He recently took to his Instagram Story to post a picture of Solange after her elevator fight with Jay-Z, further fueling rumors that he and Hov are beefing.

Meanwhile, Drake doesn’t take jokes at his expense in the same way. Fashion Nova recently took down their “BBL Drizzy” Halloween costume, and while we don’t know for sure if this was his doing, it’s not a ridiculous presumption. Adin Ross Shows Loyalty To Drake By Selling His Watch That LeBron James Also Owns

One of the oddest and most speculative byproducts of the whole Kendrick Lamar versus Drake battle is everyone else that suddenly found themselves in the middle of it. We’re not talking about the other rap beef opponents such as Future and Rick Ross, though. Rather, we’re talking about the other celebrities that “picked a side” based on who they showed love to, where they went, and how these folks are interacting online. This is especially true for the Toronto superstar based on just how high-profile he is with his famous friends. For example, he unfollowed LeBron James after months of speculation that the NBA star is more Team Kendrick.

Still, even an IG unfollow – which is practically Drake’s way of making a press release and solidifying his real-life bonds – isn’t enough to confirm this. After all, LeBron James warmed up to his music just fine the other day. But Adin Ross isn’t taking any chances, cutting all associations with the former Cleveland Cavalier. However, he chose to start this process in a pretty odd way. The streamer is selling his Audemars Piguet watch (worth between $450K and $500K) because he owns the same one that LeBron does, and doesn’t want that link to stick around.

“I’ll just tell you guys the truth,” Adin Ross said on his livestream. “I’m selling this piece ’cause LeBron has this piece and Drake unfollowed Bron. There. That’s the reason why I’m doing it. I don’t care. Michael Jordan’s better.” Of course, some fans flamed him while others rode just as hard, if not harder, for OVO. One of the things that critics brought up, though, is that Bronny James apparently boosted Ross’ popularity, so this is an ironically disloyal show of loyalty in their eyes.

Meanwhile, Adin Ross recently rode a little too hard for Drake, as he had to apologize to Los Angeles for some disrespectful comments to Kendrick Lamar affiliates. “I’m not necessarily apologizing to people I was talking towards,” he expressed. “But I do want to say one thing: L.A. is to not be f***ed with. L.A. is a serious place, and I love L.A. Seriously, I love L.A. Now, I’m not folding. I still say ‘F**k you’ to the people that were coming at me. F**k you.”

John Oliver, who notoriously described Netflix’s Bridgerton as “lots of jizzing in blankets,” might also get a kick out of what awaited the show’s fans at an event that a Detroit-area organization advertised as the (Netflix-unaffiliated) “Detroit Bridgerton Ball” for a “Regency Era Dance” with this description:

Step into the enchanting world of the Regency era at the Detroit Bridgerton Themed Ball. Join us for an evening of sophistication, grace, and historical charm. Experience a night like no other filled with music, dance, and exquisite costumes.

What transpired, Dear Readers, was not as advertised. Local ABC affiliate Detroit 7 News must have gotten word of the event’s disastrous reception at historic social club Harmonie because reporters showed up “at the tail end,” where crews interviewed disgusted attendees, who couldn’t believe that there was “raw food” and “a stripper pole” instead of fine dining and Regency-era dancing. There was no Queen picking a “Diamond” for the courting season, and so on. The outlet quotes a sad Netflix fan:

“The way that it was described was this was going to be a Bridgerton evening. We were gonna have classical music, good dinner. There was gonna be a play and they were gonna pick Diamond of the season. They were gonna give away all of these prizes and we went in and it was completely empty in there,” said Amanda Sue Mathis as she stood outside of the Harmonie Club. “There is nothing going on. They have a pole in the middle of the dance floor. A stripper pole in the middle of the dance floor.”

This situation doesn’t sound quite as expensive and awful (or difficult to escape) as the Fyre Festival debacle on a remote island, or as surreal as the sorry Wonka-themed “Experience” in Glascow. Still, attendees reportedly invested hundreds of dollars on tickets to stare at their phones while sitting on the floor and wondering what happened. A full X/Twitter thread breaks down the madness, and the organizers of the event still haven’t explained why pole dancing was on the entertainment list. Maybe they are saving the context for a horror movie or Fyre Festival 3 (which will never happen).

A lot of celebrities these days are endorsing either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump for U.S. President, whether their takes are based in actual policy agreements or not. Moreover, it’s been a controversial ride to see what discussions, debates, and combative back-and-forths occur as a result, especially in the hip-hop world. However, outside of that conversation, Janet Jackson recently ruffled a lot of feathers online during her recent interview with The Guardian. In it, the interviewer asked her about the prospect of potentially getting the first female president – and the first Black female president – in United States history.

“Well, you know what they supposedly said?” Janet Jackson asked the interviewer, who had asked the singer this Kamala Harris question due to her own references to social justice and racial equity. “She’s not Black. That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian.” “Well, she’s both,” the interviewer replied, referencing Harris’ Jamaican father and Kamala’s mother’s view of her as a Black daughter. “Her father’s white,” Janet responded. “That’s what I was told. I mean, I haven’t watched the news in a few days. I was told that they discovered her father was white.”

Then, the interviewer asked Janet Jackson whether she thinks that the United States is “ready for [Kamala Harris]” as, if not a Black woman, then as a woman of color. “I don’t know,” she posited. “Honestly, I don’t want to answer that because I really, truthfully, don’t know. I think either way it goes is going to be mayhem.” Of course, this led to a whole variety of reactions from fans who came across this, as they either agree with the Las Vegas concert resident or condemned her assessment of Harris’ racial identity. Elsewhere, Janet Jackson shocked fans recently for much less serious reasons: her relation to a whole lot of celebrities. “[Stevie Wonder is] our cousin. Earlier this week, a funeral service for Rich Homie Quan was hosted in South Fulton, Georgia. Several family members and friends gathered to pay their respects. According to DJ Pretty Boy Tank, however, not everyone was respectful. He took to Twitter/X recently to call out Ralo, accusing him of behaving inappropriately at the event.

“He was sitting behind me in the funeral being weird & talking the entire time .. Even said he almost went live in the services smh,” he wrote. “Buddy kept blowing his nose like a trumpet too … Almost had to curse a lady out for taking a pic of the casket as well .. Yall be acting weird as hell at known people’s funerals.”

Jay Critch Gets Into “1 Vs 6” Brawl With Trollers In New York

Overall, Jay Critch comes across as one of those MCs who stays to himself for the most part. He’s rarely causing drama in the public eye and seems pretty humble. Unfortunately, the Brooklyn veteran has occasionally gotten tangled up in some street fights here and there. It’s nothing that’s too out of the ordinary in general, but for some reason that’s what seems to be a reoccurring thing here and there. For example, around this time two years ago, Critch went viral for getting into it outside of a New Jersey nightclub alongside some of his boys.

Ironically, the Humble Giant is making headlines for the same reason again as video footage below shows. It isn’t much, as the clip is only five seconds. But it appears that Critch was jumped in the streets of New York as an assailant hits him in the face with what is said to be his shoes. Like the NJ debacle, there isn’t any word on how things unraveled. But unlike last time, we have some physical evidence of Critch and one of his alleged “6” attackers jawing at each other after the fight online.

He then replies, “@jaycritch I beat you out ua sneakers before they even got there, and I let you have ya chain”, he began. “I took it off ya neck…. You thought it was lit when you backed out that camera dummy”. Later, to try and put away any doubts that Critch wasn’t telling truth, he added on his IG Story, “End of story!”, with his aforementioned quote above. Maybe this time we will learn the cause of this brief and viral clip.

Latto Fans Barely Recognize Her In Teenage Rap Video

Latto has been rapping for a long time, as she has plenty of old performance clips from when she was just a teenager. However, a new example of this that hit the Internet this week might be the most unrecognizable and shocking yet. Moreover, it’s a music video of her with two friends rapping over a trap beat that sounds right out of the early 2010s, and this is when she was still going by “Miss Mulatto.” In it, the Atlanta femcee has some fun in front of a green screen and delivers a charismatic verse with a much higher pitch than what you’ll find on Sugar Honey Iced Tea.

It’s always heartening and at least pretty cool to see where rappers came from, especially when they are such huge stars now. It also goes to show that Latto’s been about female rap from the jump, even if some shade she sent Ice Spice’s way might put that in question for some today. Nevertheless, everybody has to start somewhere. Setting up the timeline for her artistic evolution reveals a pretty step-by-step progression thanks to videos like these.

What’s more is that 2024 is the perfect time to look back on Latto’s humble beginnings since this has arguably been her biggest 12 months yet. In fact, she was named “Trapper Of The Year” at T.I.’s Trap Music Museum in Atlanta, which is the highest honor because it’s a source of hometown pride. Of course, we can’t discount 2023 either, which held “Put It On Da Floor” and all the groundwork that provided this massive 2024 in the first place. Much like this old rap video, it’s always important to connect the dots and understand that there’s levels to the amount of work hip-hop’s icons have to put in.

Even though Sugar Honey Iced Tea didn’t perform the best commercially, that doesn’t reflect the dominant conversation that Latto was at the center of this year. There’s a lot of ink over the state of female rap and their interpersonal career dynamics, and she’s been a big part of that discussion for better or worse. Ultimately, we’re just excited to see what 2025 looks like and what the next evolution will be. Maybe we’ll look back on this moment years down the line in the same way that we admire this music video.

Carti pretty much sounds like Future on the cut, and with how long listeners have waited on him, they felt let down. But rest assured, there’s still tons of hype surrounding this release. For about 20 seconds both of them dance together and even share a high five at the end of it. “I’m not all the way mad at that,” Joe Budden said of Parks’ idea that Sharpe went Live intentionally to promote his Nightcap podcast sponsors, which are erection pills. “My problem with what Flip is saying, if that’s true, and the rumors are right that he’s responding to something… Oh, f**k, I don’t even want to be the one to say it, but I’ma say it. The problem with that is that I don’t think that people were saying that Shannon Sharpe is gay. Yeah, [they were], but that’s reckless Internet chatter. Playboi Carti and Adin Ross have a pretty complicated relationship these days. This is because of their disastrous livestream from back in February that allegedly cost the streamer $2 million for just about ten minutes of very limited conversation with the Atlanta creative. Since then, Ross hasn’t been very pro-Carti. That being said, feelings change over time, and the new hype behind his I AM MUSIC album rollout could change this dynamic somewhat. Moreover, the Kick giant’s reaction to the new track “ALL RED” shows that he can separate his personal experiences with the artist from his enjoyment of the music itself.

“Nah, this s**t hard, though,” Adin Ross said at one point of his recent livestream, and Playboi Carti even responded to this via his Instagram account. “@adinross YOU AINT GOT TO LIKE ME BUT I RESPECT YOU KEEPING IT REAL ABOUT MY MUSIC SOME S**T JUST UNDENIABLE,” he captioned a post of a screenshot of Ross’ stream. Carti’s new track wasn’t as well received by everyone, though, but the social media personality’s short words on the subject actually sum up the general consensus quite well.

However, “ALL RED” also resulted in some legitimate confusion, albeit mostly critical comparisons. Fans couldn’t tell whether or not this was a new Playboi Carti song or a new Future track, pointing out the vocal and flow similarities between both rappers. Carti’s usually someone who pulls from his own unique arsenal of voices, but this deep-voiced experimentation might be his riskiest vocal move yet. Either way, there are plenty of other fans who love this style and how it’s evolved from early displays like “FE!N.” Actually, it’s wild to think how little time it took for this to become a trademark sound in the King Vamp catalog.

Nevertheless, if you still feel like he sounds like Future, we understand. Regardless, Adin Ross’ reaction to “ALL RED” shows that things don’t always have to stay personal, resulting in mutual respect. Elsewhere, Playboi Carti also hyped up more collaborations with Kanye West on I AM MUSIC (or just MUSIC? We’ll find out…).
