J Cole Releases “2014 Forest Hills Drive” Bonus Tracks And Fans Are Loving Them

J Cole is closing out his 2024 with a big bang, as he released two deluxe physical versions of his 2014 classic 2014 Forest Hills Drive for its ten-year anniversary. Both of them contain four bonus tracks each, and the blue variant arrived at select fans’ doorsteps this weekend. From what people with that exclusive sneak peek have said, they are very compelling storytelling tracks that show off the North Carolina rapper’s incredible skills. These tracks are “Die Together” – which some fans think parallels the theme of 4 Your Eyez Only – “Home Soon,” “Judgement Day,” and “Winter Wonderland.” As for the tracks on the other version, they are “Keep Heaven Dancing,” “Miles,” “Black Man In Hollywood,” and “Obviously.”

Hopefully they all land on streaming services soon, as we’re very excited to hear what else J. Cole had in the vault for the 2014 Forest Hills Drive era. But this isn’t all that he did to treat fans at the end of 2024, as he also released his mixtapes on streaming for the first time late this year. Specifically, fans can now enjoy The Come-Up Mixtape Vol. 1, The Warm-Up, and Friday Night Lights on their preferred DSP.

J Cole’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive Deluxe Is Starting To Arrive

In addition, J. Cole launched his Inevitable audio series in which he goes over his career with his manager and Dreamville cofounder, Ibrahim Hamad. Their most recent episode had Cole talking about Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d. city and the pressure and inspiration it provoked in him when it released. “When Kendrick’s album dropped, the journey got harder, the mountain got steeper. Because similar to when [So Far Gone] dropped, where it was like, ‘Oh s**t, there’s another person out there that has the same ambitions as me,’ it happened like that with Kendrick.”

Not only that, but J. Cole even played some unreleased collabs with Kendrick Lamar during select Inevitable episodes, which fans obviously loved to hear. While their relationship is complex these days, all that admiration, care, respect, and collaboration balances all that out. In any case, we can’t wait to check out these bonus 2014 Forest Hills Drive tracks and see what Cole’s got in store next year.

Hottest Hip-Hop Albums & Songs Of November 2024

Of course, Ab-Soul, FERG, and many others came through with some projects that fans were certainly expecting. Meanwhile, on the singles front, we got some incredible stuff from a plethora of artists, including MIKE, Hi-Tech, and many others. Yungeen Ace Responds To Those Against Him On Second 2024 Tape “I Control My Destiny”

“I put my all in this project. I know ppl praying I fail or be in a casket or cell, but I’m destined for greatness… hope yall been waiting to hear from me. Album out now I Control My destiny.” That is Yungeen Ace about his newest album, which hit streaming platforms this weekend. It’s his second of 2024, and it follows up on his March 29 release, Forgotten Star. New music has not been the only headline surrounding the Jacksonville, Florida rapper and singer, though. It’s actually been quite the controversial stretch for him, as he has been involving himself with his late Florida contemporary, Foolio.

He’s been on the receiving end of a lot of hate thanks to a pair of diss tracks toward the latter. Both “Do It” and “Game Over” came across as very distasteful and they seem to suggest that he was the one who put the hit on Foolio. It actually led to allegations against him, and a few suspects are currently in custody. Things are still not sorted out as of yet, and it looks like it will take some time before justice is served to the MC’s family and friends. Still, Ace decided to include those two direct diss records on I Control My Destiny, maybe to create some extra buzz around it. There are some solid cuts, as this tape sees him opening up more. But overall, it’s still an interesting and contentious vibe surrounding Yungeen Ace.

Blxst Extends His Explorative “I’ll Always Come Find You” LP With Five Deluxe Tracks

Blxst continues to trend toward being a pillar of modern R&B thanks to his willingness to go out and try things. That’s especially true sonically, and he’s done for the majority of his career. Being a Swiss army knife has led him to some fun collaborations with artists of all kinds. Blxst was then able to collect a diverse feature list of his own for his recent tape, I’ll Always Come Find You.

The four-part album did explore different topics, as well as instrumentals. 2 Chainz, Ty Dolla $ign, Amanda Reifer, and a now late Fatman Scoop were just a mere handful of guests to up the diversity. But clearly, Blxst was not content with just dropping the album how it came. His laundry list of producers was certainly put to good use because Blxst has just dropped off the deluxe of I’ll Always Come Find You this weekend. There are five new tracks, a fifth act, and appearances from DeJ Loaf, K CAMP, and more.

ScHoolboy Q Announces Another Tour For “Blue Lips” Along With An Exciting Twist

After five long years of waiting, ScHoolboy Q came back with a fresh mindset and creative ideas for his next project. Following the announcement of BLUE LIPS, it quickly became a highly anticipated album to check out. The results were highly satisfactory and despite a ton of fabulous records since its release in March, it’s remained an AOTY contender. Sadly, the GRAMMYs did it no justice, leaving it out of the Best Rap Album category. But most fans are going to appreciate it anyway, and they should. It’s Q’s most personal, grown-up, and ambitious record to date with some of the best beat switches all year as well.

Just a few months later, the Oxymoron MC took his sixth studio effort on a unique tour called, Blue Lips Weekends. From the weekends beginning on July 18 through August 11, ScHoolboy Q hit up cities like Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, and more for 11 dates. The rare and shorter format wound up to be a success for the California rapper because he’s doing something similar again. According to Pitchfork, ScHoolboy Q is heading back on tour starting on January 23 in Oakland.

This time, though, there’s a different twist or two. Instead of staying state side, the “THank god 4 me” artist is going to take a couple of weeks off in between. That will allow him to recuperate for the international performances which will see him head to Germany, France, Netherlands, and England. Blue Lips! Got New Songs… Tour will span nine dates in total and based on the name of it, that might be the second special thing with this trek.

“Blue lips…new songs and new sHows,” Q wrote. “New songs” could potentially mean we get some bonus tracks from this era of ScHoolboy Q. Of course, that then leads to a possible deluxe of BLUE LIPS which we could receive any time before, in the middle, or after the tour. This is all speculation, but it is certainly an exciting thing to think about.

Tyga Showcases His Best Talents On “Don’t Be Fooled” Two-Pack

Throughout Tyga’s career, we have been able to pick up on his strengths and weaknesses. He’s not going to blow your mind with his pen. However, he does know how to put together some sticky lines, though. But where he really shines is in the melody and instrumental departments. The ears for those vital factors of any good song are on full display on Tyga’s new songs “Don’t Be Fooled” and “Mmphh.” Both land on a two-pack named after the former and they arrive during a nice little stretch for the California rapper.

For “Don’t Be Fooled,” Tyga and d.a got that dope create an earworm through an addicting drum pattern and haunting string sections. His flows on the track are perfectly in sync with tempo of the track, making it a catchy listen through and through. Additionally, it’s got a braggadocious vibe, as the “Taste” MC reminds everyone to not take him lightly. Then, on “Mmphh,” the themes remain the same, but there’s a shift in the sounds. A flute enters the fray, and it fits snuggly into the mix. In addition, Tyga’s delivery is lively and a little playful. Overall, it sounds like he was having fun in the studio when putting these tracks together.

Desiigner Enters A “Rebirth” After A Six-Year Hiatus

When Desiigner came onto the scene back in 2016 with his breakout record “Panda,” there were a lot of skeptics. Many were labeling him a blatant Future rip off and prediciting that he would become a one-hit wonder. However, thanks to songs like “Tiimmy Turner” and “Outlet,” and a feature on Kanye West’s posse cut “Champions,” he seemed to quite a handful of doubters. However, after 2018’s L.O.D. project, Desiigner would continue to fade and steadily. Things wouldn’t get any better even as of recently, as the Brooklyn rapper and singer would run into some wild legal trouble. In 2023, he would be charged for indecent exposure while on a flight back to the states from Japan.

He addressed the bizarre situation in a sit-down with Adam22 on his No Jumper platform claiming that it was due to his lack of sugar in his body due to the vegan diet he was on. He also said the medication he was on caused him to act out. Again, this left many skeptical. Based on all of this, it’s clear that Desiigner has not had the easiest of career trajectories for a while. However, it seems that he’s doing better now and back to dropping new music. He’s been releasing a lot singles, but the gap between L.O.D. and now is wide. Enter Rebirth, Desiigner’s third project. It’s a perfect title, as the East Coast act sounds focused and more mature on this concise eight-song tape. He says there’s even more music on the way, so maybe a Rebirth really is happening for him?

D4vd Assists The “Arcane” Series With Somber Cut “Remember Me”

The crossover appeal that d4vd possesses allows him to work with a bevy of artists of all genres. His knack for writing relatable and catchy croons certainly helps him and it continues to give the 19-year-old phenom various opportunities. Some of that includes working alongside video game franchises and television shows for soundtracks where accessible and versatile music is essential. So far, d4vd has been able to team up with one of the most popular games of all time in Call of Duty. He did so last year to raise excitement for the Modern Warfare III remake by dropping “Call Me Revenge” with 21 Savage.

Then, earlier this year, the producers for the hit adult animated Amazon Prime Video series Invincible, reached out to the “Romantic Homicide” artist for a track. “Feel It” has actually become one of his most popular songs on streaming now, so it was a win-win for both sides. Now, the people over at Arcane are reaching out to d4vd for “Remember Me” and its accompanying intro. This song about wanting a past lover to never let their history together to be wiped away will land on the season two soundtrack. That will arrive next Saturday, November 23. The League of Legends spin-off Netflix show is in the middle of its sophomore season as we speak, with a few episodes still to be released.

Tory Lanez Wants Superficial Love & The Real Thing On Latest R&B-tinged Lost Tapes

Tory Lanez has always had one of the better singing voices for a rapper since he came out back in the early 2010s. It’s pushed him into the mainstream with some of his biggest songs having that R&B flare. All you have to do is check out his top five popular songs on Spotify. “Say It,” “The Color Violet,” “Hurts Me,” and “Lavender Sunflower” occupy four of the spots. It’s been an age-old question between his fans of which version of Tory is better. Well, that aforementioned fact is a telling sign as to where most listeners of his lean.

If you are one of them, then you may enjoy Tory Lanez’s newest additions to the “Free Tory Playlist.” This week, he’s delivered “Transaction” and “Just The Way,” two “Lost Tapes” from 2022. Some of these tracks have been pulled from the beloved “Fargo Fridays” era. However, these seem to be two unfamiliar releases. Another trend in this prolific series is that the two tracks usually differ sonically and tonally. It’s kept alive this time around too, with “Transaction” being more about spending for a good time with promiscuous women. Conversely, “Just The Way” hears Tory wanting a more emotional connection. See which vibe you’re rocking with more by visiting the links below.
