KA$HDAMI Takes Listeners To A Brief “Oasis” On New LP

KA$HDAMI is rapper who takes influence from the recent wave of melodic rap that has been prevalent for the last several years. Highly popularized by artists like Travis Scott, Kid Cudi, Don Toliver, Juice WRLD, and more, their drawn-out melodies and what make the sound so entrancing. While the Las Vegas, Nevada native draws some inspiration from them to some degree he does put his own spin on it. In the same breath though, he is still looking to fully separate himself from those names as he further develops it. KA$HDAMI is doing that on his latest project oasis.

This is the 20-year-old’s first LP since 2022’s WORLD DAMINATION. That saw him work with midwxst, XLOVCLO, NoCap, and more. According to Genius, the first hint that KA$HDAMI gave that this album was in the works actually was about one year ago exactly. However, it would be quite awhile before the hype around oasis would come back.

Listen To Oasis By KA$HDAMI

Its lead single, “Games,” would not drop until late October. Then, only one more track would be put out before its eventual release in late February. That song would be “Want!” KA$HDAMI brings some internet rap tropes into some of the tracks such as random sound effects like a Semtex grenade getting ready to explode from the Call Of Duty video games. That charm goes a long way to make this tape a little more interesting. One of the things that drags the listening experience down is how short the songs are. Most of them are only a minute and change, unfortunately.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new album, oasis, by KA$HDAMI? Is this his best project ever, why or why not? What songs are you gravitating toward and why? Who had the strongest feature performance and why? Does he deserve more recognition as an artist overall? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding KA$HDAMI. That Mexican OT Recruits Fellow Lone Star Legends For “Texas Technician”

That Mexican OT has continued to impress us and fans over and over again ever since dropping one of the best underrated hits of 2023 “Johnny Dang.” That track with Paul Wall became such a favorite amongst the community that it helped his fellow Texas legend nab his first Hot 100 hit in 16 years. That information is all thanks to Stereogum. Now, That Mexican OT is back for more with his new mixtape Texas Technician.

This record quickly follows up his major label debut project from 2023 Lonestar Luchador. It also got the ChopNotSlop treatment a couple of months later. Since then, That Mexican OT has continued to prove he is here to stick around. At the beginning of 2024, he dropped another banger, only this one was a bit darker in tone.

“02.02.99” saw OT whip out some violent bars and a bassy instrumental to get the year started off right. Then, at the beginning of February, he and DaBaby linked up for the first time on “Point Em Out.” It was accompanied by a hilarious music video that was a callback to the iconic 90s crime film Pulp Fiction. Well, those two tracks would up being the main teasers for Texas Technician. Texas hip-hop is being shown its well-deserved respect by OT by bringing on the legends of the area. Paul Wall makes a return, as he joins of the cast of Slim Thug, Z-Ro, Propain, and more.

Chevy Woods Takes A Time Machine Back To “1998” On His New Album

Chevy Woods has mostly been tied to Wiz Khalifa for the duration of his career. The two have collaborated many times before and it makes sense seeing as he is a Taylor Gang signee. The veteran MC is someone you go to for laid back raps and he is doing more of the same on his latest effort. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania spitter recently came by with his fourth project since the start of the 2020 decade. Chevy Woods’ 1998 is a concise 13-song listen with a handful of features.

If you take a peek at the tracklist, you will notice the titles evoke a certain time period. Sports fans were certainly pick up on the fact that these tracks call back to the time in which Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls would go on to win their last championship. It was also the end of their second three peat proving that even on wearier legs Jordan and the gang were able to succeed.

Listen To 1998 By Chevy Woods

Woods is essentially doing the same on this project here. 1998 definitely has production inspiration from the 1990s with the heavy East Coast boom bap sounds. Woods captivates us right away on the “Intro” and continues to wow down the stretch. Be sure to give this a listen above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new album, 1998, by Chevy Woods? What tracks are sticking out to you and why? Who had the strongest guest performance on the record in your opinion? Is this a top-tier Chevy project? If not, where would you rank it amongst the rest of his discography? EARTHGANG & Spillage Village Deliver 5-Song EP “ROBOPHOBIA”

Back in November 2023, experimentative rap duo EARTHGANG gave us a first look at the type of direction their next project would take. That path is one of funk, soul, R&B, with some of their hip-hop knowledge thrown in for good measure. On Instagram earlier this month they shared this message. “Robophobia is a sonic dive into a new terrain for @EarthGang as we explore new soundscapes and topics on imperfections, connections and projections within humanity’s relationship with each other and AI.” “BLACKLIGHT” was the introductory track for the now-released tape.

EARTHGANG’s ROBOPHOBIA is also a bit of sequel for the Atlanta natives. Back in September of last year, they worked their extended rap collective Spillage Village to bring a five-track EP, RIP Human Art. These two projects do share some commonalities both thematically and curation wise. As for the latter, this latest entry in the EARTHGANG vs The Algorithm series is also five tracks.

Listen To ROBOPHOBIA By EARTHGANG & Spillage Village

For the themes both are centering around technology, imperfections, and our relationship with AI. Which makes sense considering their outlook they mentioned earlier. All in all it is a very solid EP on both the writing and production fronts. It all sounds futuristic, vibey, and fun all at the same time.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new EP, ROBOPHOBIA, by EARTHGANG and Spillage Village? Do you like this sonic direction for the duo, why or why not? Who had the best feature on the record and why? What songs are you gravitating toward the most so far? Kid Cudi Goes Back To More Familiar Sounds On “INSANO (NITRO MEGA)”

“Oh how u all will feast again very soon.” That was Kid Cudi on X (Twitter) back in late January after not being able to get his “deluxe” of INSANO out on time. Well, that time has come as the Cleveland native is here on February 23 to deliver INSANO (NITRO MEGA). As he initially promised, fans now have nearly 40 new tracks to indulge in throughout the rest of the year and hopefully beyond.

After NITRO MEGA‘s predecessor got slightly unfavorable reviews from critics and fans, maybe this will make fans a little happier. On this sequel of sorts, Cudi is going back to his experimentative roots. While it is still filled with bangers, it is not nearly as heavy on the trap/psychedelic sounds. Just listen to “ELECTROWAVE BABY 2.0” and you will see what we mean.

There are still some tracks that will most likely still up controversy such as “WILLIS” for example. But again, there are still some nice highlights on INSANO (NITRO MEGA). One of them has to be “HUMAN MADE.” It appears that Tame Impala’s “One More Hour” is the song to sample in 2024 so far if you want pure fireworks. Be sure to check out the record with the links to find out for yourself which album is superior.

ScHoolBoy Q Reveals Why Neither Of His New Singles For “BLUE LIPS” Are On Streaming

ScHoolboy Q is one of many TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment) artists dropping a full-length project in 2024. However, he is the only one we have a ton of information on. Just over a week ago, the California MC put out two singles to get fans ready for his sixth tape. They were titled “Back n Love” and “Blueslides.” Both offered up some intriguing ideas for the type of direction he is aiming for. ScHoolboy Q’s BLUE LIPS is due on March 1 and with the release date about two weeks away, fans are dying to hear the full thing.

When artists put out tracks, almost everyone wants them on streaming platforms right away. Unfortuantely, Q’s fans have not gotten that wish. He decided to release them strictly on YouTube. “Back n Love” and “Blueslides” both have been viewed quite a bit on the video platform. However, fans are still wondering why Spotify, Apple Music, and the rest of them are not getting them.

Azealia Banks Blasts Beyonce For New Country Era

Beyonce is officially launching her new country era, previewing the album Act II‘s release on March 29 of this year with two new singles: “16 CARRIAGES” and “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM.” Of course, this sent the BeyHive into a frenzy, and a lot of fans are reacting very excitedly to this new phase in her career. However, not everyone’s a fan, and one particular critic of the Houston superstar’s decision is none other than Azealia Banks. She took to her Instagram Story on Monday morning (February 12) to blast her decision to go country. Not only that, but the New York City native expressed beliefs that this would only go on to ridicule the “CUFF IT” singer in the long run.

“Ugh Bianca girl I love you down but them r&b runs over the leslie feist back beats is giving pickmesha…” Azealia Banks wrote of Beyonce. “Nothing country about it. You’re seeing yourself up to be ridiculed again. There’s a theatrical element to country music !!! Them critics are not just going to accept an ugly blond wig and , bullying from jay-z !!! It’s giving big time musical grift. Yes black girls can make country music … but you’re just really not hitting the button.

Azealia Banks Goes In On Beyonce’s Move To Country

“K.michelle this is your turn to really execute,” Azealia Banks went on. “It’s no shade but K Michelle truly understands the assignment. Beyoncé please stop the madness. The gay baiting, the overtly narcissistic attempts to lazily encroach into a genre *you think* your popularity is gonna gain accolades for you in… You’re looking like food sis. You will gag when k Michelle tears it.” Given all the production credits on both these new Beyonce songs, it’s impossible to assume what the true quality of this experience will be like before listening to the project as a whole.

Still, this isn’t a forbidden opinion to have about Queen Bey, and some fans are still pretty skeptical about the whole endeavor while others are loving it. But if these new tracks are anything to go by, then we’d bet our money on this being another hit. Do you agree with this sentiment or do you have other ideas as to how Act II will manifest? Drop your thoughts in the comments down below and log back into HNHH for more on Beyonce and Azealia Banks.

Beyonce Taps Hit-Boy For New Country Songs: See Full Production Credits

Beyonce’s country era is officially here, and ahead of Act II‘s release on March 29, she surprise-dropped two new singles for the album. These are “16 CARRIAGES” and “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM,” and folks are loving the songwriting, vocal performance, and instrumental aesthetics behind them. As expected, they both had a lot of hands working on them, and we now have the full list of production credits. On both songs, the Houston icon produced, composed, wrote lyrics, was the associated performer, provided vocals, and was also the main vocal producer. Mariel Gomerez was the A&R director for both, and Matheuz Braz was the assistant engineer.

Raphael Saadiq, a frequent collaborator in the Beyoncé universe, composed and wrote lyrics for both cuts. Stuart White also provided production on both and was a recording and mixing engineer for them, whereas Andrea Roberts engineered them and Colin Leonard was the mastering engineer. That’s all the overlap; now, let’s move into “16 CARRIAGES” specifically. Its producers include Dave Hamelin and Ink, with Hamelin and Atia Boggs also composing and writing lyrics. Saadiq was also an additional producer here, Hamelin and Ink provided guitar, Hamelin and Gavin Williams played the organ, and Hamelin played the piano.

Furthermore, Dave Hamelin was also a recording engineer, Justin Schipper and Robert Randolph played steel guitar, Hamelin also took over synth duties, and Ryan Svendsen played the trumpet. Now onto Beyonce’s “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM”: for this one, acclaimed beatsmith Hit-Boy provided additional production along with Mariel Gomerez, and also did some synthesizer work. Its producers are Killah B (who also did drums) and nathan ferraro (who also played bass and piano, plus has lyric and composition credits). Brian Bates, Elizabeth Lowell Boland (who also played piano), and Megan Bülow helped compose and write lyrics for this track.

Rhiannon Giddens played banjo and viola, and Raphael Saadiq (who also was co-producer and played drums, organ, and piano) and Khirye Tyler (who also played piano) take over bass duties. Beyonce Hints At The New Direction For “ACT II” With “16 CARRIAGES” & TEXAS HOLD ‘EM”

Beyonce is a living legend and a masterful businesswoman. Amid all the hype surrounding Super Bowl LVIII, she teased some new music in a pair of commercials. One of them was a hilarious Verizon collaboration, with Beyonce trying to break the internet by trying to pull off crazy stunts. At the end of the advertisement, she said, “Drop the new music.” Somewhat separate from that ad, Queen Bey previewed one of her two new singles “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM.” This is going to be a part of ACT II.

At the end of that commercial, she revealed the release date. It looks to be March 29 and based on both tracks, it seems we are transitioning. We are going from the undeniable grooves of house and dance to country. Beyonce did drop a single, “MY HOUSE,” back in December, but that appears to have no ties to ACT II based on its sound alone. But, how do these songs sound?

Listen To ACT II Singles “16 CARRIAGES” & “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” By Beyonce

Well, they sound pretty damn good. Beyonce has something cooking for ACT II and it may be one of her most ambitious projects. “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” is more of a hoedown song with animated background vocals and a thumping drum pattern. Contrastingly, “16 CARRIAGES” is a more serious vibe with a grand instrumental. It is a self-reflecting Beyonce who looks at all the difficulties and hard work she has put in to get to where she is now. She embraces her Texan roots in a very tasteful way. Grab your lassos and cowboy hats, RENAISSANCE ACT II is going to be a hell of a ride.

What are your thoughts on these brand-new singles, “16 CARRIAGES” and “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM,” by Beyonce? Between the two songs, which one is better and why? Would you like to see her make a country album after hearing both records? Are you excited for RENAISSANCE ACT II? Is she the greatest marketer of any music artist ever? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to tell us in the comments below. Additionally, keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Beyonce.
