Kaliii Celebrates A Break-Up With A ‘Bozo’ In Lavish Fashion In Her New Video

Kaliii continues to lay down the law. Last year, the ATL rapper made a splash with her viral hit “Area Codes.” Tonight (February 9), our cover star has shared her empowered new single, “Bozo.”

The song precedes her upcoming EP, which is slated for release this spring. On “Bozo,” Kaliii makes it known she’s not the one to play with. She tells the story of a break-up, unfazed about hearing of a man’s infidelity. Evidently, Kaliii heard the news from the man’s mistress, but simply lets the woman know that she can have that man.

“Come to me as a woman? That’s a no-no / ‘Cuz who the f*ck wants smoke about a bozo,” she raps on one of the song’s verse.

The song features a prominent sample of Keyshia Cole’s “Love,” but make no mistake — Kaliii won’t be suckered back in.

After a vocal sample of Cole singing the word “love,” Kaliii raps “F*ck that, ain’t no more love for a ho” and says “his homeboy the one I should’ve chose.”

In the song’s video, Kalii is seen gossiping with her girls about the break-up, then living her best life dressed to the nines on a yacht, while the titular bozo begs for another chance.

Rising Atlanta Star Kaliii Issues The ‘Area Codes Edition’ Of Her Debut EP, ‘Toxic Chocolate’

A lot has happened for rising Atlanta star Kaliii since Uproxx last spoke to her about the release of her debut EP, Toxic Chocolate. In addition to landing on the 2022 XXL Freshman list, her April single “Area Codes” has taken off, spawning a multitude of remixes featuring Luh Tyler, Mello Buckzz, and more. She was also highlighted at the BET Awards earlier this month, highlighting how far she’s come.

Now, with a slight name change and a new era ahead of her — those extra two “i’s” make all the difference — she’s turning the page with a deluxe reissue of Toxic Chocolate: Area Codes Edition and collecting all those remixes into one compilation, Area Codes: The Remixes. The new version of the EP adds the breakout hit, which peaked at No. 33 on the Billboard Hot 100, and establishes her name change, which will kick in on DSPs within the next few weeks.

Along with the reissue, Kaliii has become an in-demand feature rapper, appearing on BreezyLYN’s “Bad Bitches” remix alongside Brooklyn breakout Lola Brooke and Finesse2Tymes’ “Shiesty” with St. Louis standout Sexyy Red.

You can check out the “718” remix of “Area Codes” featuring Kenzo B up top.

Finesse2tymes, Kali, And Sexyy Red Make It Rain In Their ‘Shiesty’ Video

Three of the hottest rappers in the game right now have linked up for a summer hit. Finesse2tymes has recruited Kali and Sexyy Red for his pro-stripper anthem, “Shiesty.”

On their steamy collaboration, Finesse2tymes is searching for a woman on her worst behavior — “F*ck all that nice sh*t,” he says in the song’s intro.

He continues, rapping on the chorus, “Ooh she shiesty / I hit it for free / Ooh she pricey / Ooh she righteous / Let her sit on my face / Ooh she like it.”

Matching Finesse2tymes’ scorching energy are the ladies. Kali chimes in, reminding the listener of her “toxic chocolate” status, and making it known that she’s looking for someone equally as shiesty.

“He rich / That sh*t don’t move me / He spend / We make a movie,” she raps.

“Pound Town” hitmaker Sexyy Red closes the song warning her man, “B*tch, pick up that phone / You know I’m crazy / Like, what you be on.”

In the video, the three are seen partying in a strip club, having a ball while throwing stacks of money.

Kali Puts A Florida-Fresh ‘850 Remix’ On ‘Area Codes’ With Luh Tyler

In the modern streaming era, sometimes, having multiple remixes of your hit song can be just what artists need to take their hottest tracks over the top. Just ask Coi Leray, Ice Spice, Lil Nas X, and Nicki Minaj.

Atlanta rapper Kali is the latest to try it out, and her new song “Area Codes” is the perfect vehicle for the multiple remix strategy, since each new version gives her the chance to collaborate with another new artist. Her latest is the “850 Remix”; since that area code covers the Florida panhandle, who better to tap than Luh Tyler, the “coolest teen in hip-hop?”

The Tallahassee native comes in with his signature laid-back swagger, boasting that he’s “keeping it P” (for “playa”) with a short but sweet contribution that makes effective use of the charm he’s displayed on tracks like “First Show” and “Stand On Biz.”

In the year since the release of her debut EP Toxic Chocolate, Kali’s been hard at work raising her profile. The XXL Freshman made appearances on collaborations with fellow ATLien Baby Tate and rising stars Lola Brooke and BreezyLyn and has continued to drop singles such as “Bout U” and “Wet,” along with the multiple remixes of “Area Codes.”

So far, she’s released the “314 Remix” with Sexyy Red, the “415 Remix” with Lil Kayla, and the “718 Remix” featuring Kenzo B. Where will she land next? You’ll have to stay tuned to find out. Listen to the “850 Remix” of “Area Codes” with Luh Tyler above.

Lola Brooke, Kali, And BreezyLyn Are The Epitome Of Modern-Day ‘Bad B*tches’ On The Song’s Overtly Cocky Remix

Brooklyn’s latest rising star, BreezyLyn, set out to recruit the hottest rappers and scored big with Lola Brooke and Kali. The Marcy Houses representative’s FckBwoy!-produced single “Bad B*tches” began to grab the attention last year due to its catchy chorus. Now, with fellow Brooklyn native (Lola Brooke) and Georgia native (Kali) joining in on the song’s remix, this is gearing up for BreezyLyn’s breakout moment.

In the track’s official video, directed by Jerry Morka, the musicians encourage all ladies present to embody the epitome of a modern-day “baddie.” One line, in particular, emphasizes this point, “Bad b*tches, mad riches / Bad b*tches, can’t sit with the — / Bad b*tches, mad riches.” The stanza repeated throughout the song’s chorus serves as a mantra.

The track’s featured artists are required to allow their self-confidence to ooze out of them without shame. This declaration is almost mandatory for the listening audience as well.

When asked about the collaboration, BreezyLyn told Complex, “I’m very excited to share this moment with my girls Lola and Kali. They’ve been so supportive of this song, so it was only right they bless the remix. The vibe on set was amazing because we genuinely rock with each other and respect our crafts. We did this for all women who want to feel empowered and confident in their own skin.”

Kali Makes It Known She Has Men In Different ‘Area Codes’ With Her New Single

Last year proved fruitful for Atlanta rapper Kali. With the release of her critically-acclaimed EP Toxic Chocolate, as well as landing XXL‘s coveted Freshman List, we knew she was no flash in the pan. Today (April 6), Kali is back with a gender-flipped spin on a Ludacris classic.

On her new single, “Area Codes,” Kali breaks down the roster of the many men waiting to see her when she touches down in their city.

Some of these contenders include “a white boy on my roster” who feeds her “pasta and lobster,” as well as a man “from the trap” who prefers to “stay off the map.”

“I got hoes / In different area codes / Everywhere I go / I call and they drop the lo’,” she raps over a snappy beat on the song’s chorus. Though there’s no direct sample of Ludacris’ “Area Codes,” the song sounds like an empowered version of his early hit, but for a new generation of ladies running the game.

In the accompanying video, she is joined by a flashy clique in a school setting, as she lays down the law, reminding the men that she can’t be tied down.

Kali’s New Single Reminds Us She Has Hoes In Different “Area Codes”: Stream

Kali has already proven she isn’t coming quietly in 2023, beginning the year with singles like “Binliang,” “Maalan,” and “Quake Bird.” On her latest release, “Area Codes,” the rising rap diva is coming with a bold approach, bragging on bar after bar over production by Tate Kobang and YG! Beats. “You know I love me a motherf*ckin’ trick,” she reminds listeners on the intro, before spilling details on the various men in her current line-up of lovers.

“Got a white boy on my roster, he be feeding me pasta and lobster / He just hit me up on Tuesday like ‘What you doing bae? let me take you shoppin,’” she quickly rhymes. “He said “Damn, I’m in your city / But anyway it’s okay, hope you have a good day / I’ma send you about 850.’” Clearly, Kali is all about her cash, and the type of man for her is one who can provide it.

Kali’s “Area Codes” is a Bad Bitch Anthem

On the chorus, the Georgia native confidently sings about having “hoes in different area codes,” warning some women that it “might just be [their] n*gga” who she’s being spoiled by. The new single comes in at just under two and a half minutes, and already, fans are begging Kali to continue sharing releases with a similar vibe in time for Hot Girl Summer.

Last year saw the arrival of her Toxic Chocolate project, including popular titles like “Eat It Up” featuring BIA and “UonU” with Yung Bleu. Kali’s eight-track effort also includes collaborations with Moneybagg Yo, ATL Jacob, and Latto on “MMM MMM (The Remix),” as well as Muni Long on “Chainzzz.” We’re eagerly awaiting a follow-up to that, though it remains unclear when the southern starlet’s next full-length effort will land.

Quotable Lyrics:

He lowkey, yeah he stay off the map
Anytime I need some money, he say pull up

Saucy Santana & Kali Did Not Find Pranks By Latto’s Team Funny

Latto x Kali x Saucy Santana

Kali recently addressed her first tour with Latto where she was pranked. Which, unfortunately, rubbed her the wrong way. Saucy Santana also spoke months ago regarding the same issue. What was meant to be “Prank Day” was not so funny to the artists who shared the stage with Latto during her 777 tour.  Two of […]
