Polo G Is Up To No Good On His Michael Jackson-Sampling Single, ‘Bad Man (Smooth Criminal)’

Polo G earned his first No. 1 album earlier this year with Hall Of Fame. The 20-track project saw him swing for the fences thanks to contributions from Nicki Minaj, Lil Durk, The Kid Laroi, Roddy Rich, Young Thug, DaBaby, and more. The project was a heavily promoted one that also saw a No. 1 single thanks to “Rapstar” as well as numerous videos. While some might have thought the rapper would close the chapter on Hall Of Fame, he’s not ready to do so yet as he recently announced a deluxe reissue for it would arrive next month. Polo G begins the rollout for Hall Of Fame 2.0 with his brand new single, “Bad Man (Smooth Criminal).”

The track samples Michael Jackson’s hit song for what proves to be a mischievous effort from the Chicago rapper. The song was first previewed in a trailer for Hall Of Fame 2.0 that Polo G released earlier this week. “Hall Of Fame…That was me beating my chest, really coming into my own as an artist and showing I’m gonna stay,” he says at the beginning of the video. “But before I just close out this chapter, I feel like we should turn up this one more time.”

Hall Of Fame 2.0 is out on 12/03 via Columbia. Pre-order it here.

Polo G’s ‘Hall Of Fame 2.0’ Deluxe Edition Will Have 14 New Tracks

Released in June, Polo G’s Hall Of Fame marked the Chicago rapper’s first ever number 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. Along with the titanic single “Rapstar,” the 20-track album featured collaborations with Nicki Minaj, Lil Durk, The Kid Laroi, Roddy Rich, and more. But he’s not resting his laurels on the success of that release and has just announced a new deluxe version entitled Hall of Fame 2.0 that features 14 new tracks.

Hall Of Fame…That was me beating my chest, really coming into my own as an artist and showing I’m gonna stay,” he starts in the new album trailer. “But before I just close out this chapter, I feel like we should turn up this one more time.” The trailer also offers a preview of the December 3rd deluxe release’s first single in the breakneck beat and tongue-twisting lyrical maelstrom of “Bad Man (Smooth Criminal).” A flip on the Michael Jackson’s classic “Smooth Criminal,” the track officially drops this Friday, November 12th.

NLE Choppa And Polo G Keep Things ‘Jumpin’ During A Bank Robbery In Their New Video

NLE Choppa has done a lot in his life as a young rapper, and in his latest video, he shows viewers how to successfully complete a bank heist and escape the grasp of police officers. It’s all captured in his new video for “Jumpin” which features a guest verse from Polo G as well as assistance from the Chicago rapper who steps in for a strong verse on the track in addition to fulfilling his role on the bank robbery team. NLE Choppa breaks the visual down into six parts with each showing the required tasks that he and his team need to fulfill in order to successfully commit the crime.

“Jumpin” comes after NLE Choppa delivered his “Mmm Hmm” song and video. In the visual, he delivers some lavish gifts to some select friends after flying them out to a tropical island. The pair of tracks also come after he claimed he would retire to become a “full-time herbalist.” As for Polo G, the track is his latest in a string of recent guest verses as he previously teamed up with Burna Boy for “Want It All.” He also joined Eminem, Skylar Grey, and Mozzy on “Last One Standing.”

Burna Boy And Polo G ‘Want It All’ In Their Cinematic Collaboration

Afropop sensation Burna Boy is on a tear. Not only does he have an upcoming headlining set at the Hollywood Bowl — as the first African artist to ever do so — but he’s steadily been dropping a stream of new music that continues to buoy him past the success of his Grammy-winning album, Twice As Tall. Today’s latest actually features one of his most high-profile collaborations to date, with none other than Polo G joining him on the yearning “Want It All.”

In the video for the collaboration, the two artists take turns flexing about their recent accomplishments, recollecting how hard things used to be, and facing up to the pressure that their current success has created. Of course, Polo G is a rising Chicago rapper who is riding high off the success of his No. 1 album, Hall Of Fame, and just announced his own headlining tour in support of it.

Speaking on the collab, Burna said he’s had his eye on Polo for a minute, and was looking forward to working together. “I’ve been watching him for some time, and I just knew this had to get done, but it had to get done in the perfect way where the whole world gets to feel the reality of both of us,” he said. Check out the video above as both artists bask in the glow.

Skylar Grey Recruits Eminem, Polo G, And Mozzy For The Victorious ‘Last One Standing’

After a couple of weeks worth of speculation, the music world has finally received the anticipated collaboration between Skylar Grey, Eminem, Polo G, and Mozzy. “Last One Standing” is a victorious track that finds the four artists celebrating their ability to overcome life’s obstacles. It was teased for multiple weeks with some believing that it would be Eminem’s return to music and even a sign that he had a new album on the way. However, that’s not the case as the new song finds Grey in the driver seat with the three rappers providing support for her message. The track will also appear on the upcoming soundtrack for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, a film that debuts in theaters on Friday, October 1.

Anticipation behind the track first began when Mozzy’s manager teased a collaboration with Eminem. Later on, in a pair of now-deleted tweets, Polo G informed his fans to stay tuned for something arriving on October 1. Skylar Grey tied it all together with a tease of her own on Twitter. “This month has been hellish,” she wrote. “But I see the light at the end… can’t wait for October 1st… mark your calendar.” Luckily for their fans, “Last One Standing” arrived a couple of days early.

While “Last One Standing” marks Grey’s first collaboration with Mozzy and Polo G, the track appears on the lengthy list of songs she and Eminem have done together. It includes “Black Magic,” “C’mon Let Me Ride,” “Kill For You,” “Asshole,” “Leaving Heaven,” and more.

You can press play on “Last One Standing” in the video above.

Eminem’s Next Release Is Reportedly Not An Album, But Rather A Track With Polo G, Mozzy, And Skylar Grey

Last week, rumors arose about new music from Eminem. Some believed it would be a new project. Some guessed The Marshall Mathers LP 3 was en route. Others believed it was just a song that involved the rapper’s frequent collaborator Skylar Grey. For those who went with the latter, there’s great news for you: you’re partially correct. As confirmed by those who saw an advance screening of the upcoming film Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage, Eminem and Skylar Grey have a song on the soundtrack, and it’s also features rappers Polo G and Mozzy.

The untitled song can reportedly be heard during the end credits of the film. One fan took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the upcoming collaboration, writing, “Dawg. That Polo g, Mozzy, Eminem, Skylar Grey song on the venom sound track [three fire emojis].”

Rumors about the upcoming track first began earlier this month, when Mozzy’s manager teased a collaboration with Eminem. Polo G followed suit and told people to keep an eye out for something coming in October. Meanwhile Skylar Grey had a similar message of her own. “This month has been hellish,” she tweeted. “But I see the light at the end… can’t wait for October 1st… mark your calendar.”
