HER’s Lights On Festival Is Coming To Brooklyn This Fall With Sets From Chloe Bailey, 6lack, And More

A few weeks back, HER announced another edition of her personally curated Lights On Festival in Concord, California, happening over two consecutive days in September. (The first Lights On went down in 2019, if you’ll recall.) Now, Lights On is making its way to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center the following month.

Also curated by the Grammy-winning performer, the East Coast iteration of Lights On also goes down on two consecutive days — October 21 and 22 — and features performances from HER (and friends), plus R&B favorites Maxwell, 6lack, Bryson Tiller, Ari Lennox, SWV, Queen Naija, Lucky Daye, Chloe Bailey (of Chloe x Halle), Blxst, Victoria Monet, Skip Marley, Joyce Wrice, and Tone Stilth, with more to be announced.

HER’s 2021 Lights On Festival Is Led By Erykah Badu, Bryson Tiller, And Ari Lennox

In addition to winning Grammy and Oscar awards, HER also has her very own music festival. She first premiered the Lights On Festival back in 2019 with help from Summer Walker, Jhene Aiko, and Daniel Caesar. While there might’ve been plans to have the festival again in 2020, the coronavirus pandemic forced the singer to delay the show for the forseeable future. Now that things are reopening for the most part, HER used the 2021 BET Award stage to announce that the Lights On Festival would return this fall. Moments later, the official lineup for the show was revealed.

This year’s Lights On Festival will return the Concord Pavilion on the weekend of September 18-19. The show is led by Erkyah Badu, Bryson Tiller, and Ari Lennox as well HER who will appear with “friends” that have yet to be mentioned. Other performers for the Lights On Festival include Ty Dolla Sign, Keyshia Cole, Masego, Lucky Daye, Kiana Lede, Foushee, Blxst, VanJess, Arin Ray, Tone Stith, Tiana Major9, Maeta, Brianna Castilo, Samaria, Maxx Moore, Lorea, and more names to be announced.

In addition to announcing the festival at the BET Awards, HER also performed “We Made It” and won the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist award.

DJ Khaled, Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, And Bryson Tiller Throw A Party On A Yacht In Their Video For ‘Body Motion’

DJ Khaled released this 12th album, Khaled Khaled, two weeks ago, but he’s already released six videos from it. They include “Sorry Not Sorry” with Jay-Z and Nas, “We Going Crazy” with HER and Migos, “Let It Go” with Justin Bieber and 21 Savage, and more. For his latest, “Body in Motion,” he connects with Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, and Bryson Tiller for a lively video that shows the quartet having the time of their lives while partying on a yacht with a sizeable cast of women.

The new video arrives as each of the song’s guest acts continue work on forthcoming projects. Lil Baby is set to release his joint project, Voice Of The Heroes, with Lil Durk in the coming weeks. The duo planned to drop it on May 28 but decided to push it back out of respect for DMX, whose posthumous album, Exodus, will be released that day. Roddy Ricch is currently hard at work on his sophomore album, which is rumored to be titled Love Is Barely Real Anymore, while Bryson Tiller will release his long-awaited album, Serenity, at some point in the coming months.

Ty Dolla Sign Hangs Out With Tiffany Haddish In His Sunny ‘By Yourself’ Remix Video With Jhene Aiko And Bryson Tiller

Comedian Tiffany Haddish stars in the sunny video for Ty Dolla Sign’s “By Yourself” remix, hopping from man to man on a series of dates throughout the Los Angeles area, reflecting the song’s emphasis on a woman embracing her independence. Meanwhile, for each verse, Ty performs alongside one of the song’s guests Bryson Tiller and Jhene Aiko, as well as Haddish herself during Ty’s verse.

The song is the latest remix to emerge from Ty’s 2020 album, Featuring Ty Dolla Sign, including remixes of “The Business” with Tiesto and “Spicy” featuring J Balvin, Tyga, and YG.

Since releasing Featuring Ty Dolla Sign, Ty’s lived up to the album’s cheeky title, popping up on Ariana Grande’s album Positions, 2 Chainz’s “Can’t Go For That” video from So Help Me God, Blxst’s single “Chosen” with Tyga, and SZA’s “Good Days.” Ty also staged a number of impressive live performances, including one for “Nothing Like Your Exes” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and a soulful return to NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts with an in-home setup that let his skills shine.

Bryson Tiller Adds A Dose Of Support To Ty Dolla Sign And Jhene Aiko’s ‘By Yourself’

In case you’ve been under a rock for the past few months, Bryson Tiller made his return to the music world and he hasn’t let his foot off the gas since he reappeared. His latest contribution comes in the form of a new remix to Ty Dolla Sign and Jhene Aiko’s “By Yourself” track. On the updated take, Bryson delivers an extra dose of support towards a woman in his life whose independence he admires.

At the end of last month, Bryson arrived with a deluxe reissue of his third album, Anniversary. The re-release saw five additions to the album and a feature from Big Sean, who appeared on “Still Yours” and joined Drake (“Outta Time“) as the only guest acts on the project. The Lousiville singer has also been active on the music video side of things. Since he released Anniversary last October, fans have received visuals for “Always Forever,” “Sorrows,” and “Like Clockwork.” He also updated his supporters on his next body of work, Serenity, which is set to be a versatile three-volume project.

The “Be Yourself” remix is the second remix of a Featuring Ty Dolla Sign that has dropped since the album was released. He previously called on YG, J Balvin, and Tyga to join him and Post Malone for a multilingual update to “Spicy.” Prior to that, Ty joined Tiesto for “The Business, Pt. II” and covered Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”

Bryson Tiller’s ‘Like Clockwork’ Video Sends A Sharp Warning To His Haters

Bryson Tiller once said, “I’m back and I’m better,” and those words couldn’t be truer at the moment. After more than three years without music, the Louisville singer seemed to find his footing in the music world as he returned with his Anniversary album back in October. For those who believed the project would lead to another lengthy break, the singer is back to prove otherwise. Tiller returned with the deluxe version of Anniversary on Friday, one that adds five new songs and a guest appearance from Big Sean to the album. In addition to that, fans have also received a vibrant video for “Like Clockwork.”

Tiller uses the visual to take viewers through what a normal day looks like for him. From signing autographs for fans and making business decisions with his team to photoshoots and well-deserved downtime with friends, the singer gets through it all “like clockwork.” Further into the video, Tiller flaunts an impenetrable shield of confidence while taking direct shots at his haters and doubters. The track itself sends a clear warning to his opposition that his down days are over and he’s back to make up for the time he was gone.

The Anniversary deluxe will most likely be the last release fans of Tiller receive before he drops his long-awaited Serenity album. Early this month, the singer confirmed that the project would be a triple-disc effort featuring a rap side, an R&B side, and a pop side.
