Tiffany Haddish ‘Very Clear’ About ‘Court Mandated’ Sobriety, Says Sober Podcast Host

Court-mandated sobriety is doing Tiffany Haddish some good, even if it originally wasn’t her choice.

Sober photographer Amanda de Cadenet recently interviewed Haddish on her podcast “The Conversation,” as reported by Page Six, and the Girls Trip and Night School star got candid about her sobriety, court ordered. S

he also discussed other issues including her fight with chronic endometriosis and even sexual assault from her past. “I’m used to people talking about their sobriety in a way that feels… some people are disingenuous and what I felt with Tiffany, was that she was very clear and grounded,” de Cadenet – who herself has been sober for 20 years said to Page Six.

“She (Tiffany) had great insights about herself during her period of time that she’s been sober [which is] not very long to have had all of those insights,” de Cadenet added.

Now if you take her word, Haddish told de Cadenet she has not “drank any alcohol, smoked any weed or anything in, like, 72 days,” at the time of the interview in March.

“It’s not that hard because it wasn’t really like my main thing anyway,” Haddish proclaimed. “You know what I found out my main thing is? Meat, chicken, beef… and candy,” she said.

Then de Cadenet asked Haddish if she considered herself a sober person, and Haddish replied: “I consider myself being obedient to the law. It’s court-mandated. Two years, I’ve been waiting for my hearing in Georgia, and what happened in LA triggered Georgia.” This refers to her 2022 and 2023 DUI arrests. Yes, she had two DUI arrests, but of course, “It wasn’t really” her main thing.

Now, get this: Haddish said she only smoked weed to deal with her endometriosis. “When that was all taken away from me, it was like, ‘OK, let me try this whole vegan [thing]… I’m going to try raw vegan and see how that goes.” That can be understandable as cannabis is used to treat a plethora of medical conditions from chronic pain to depression to cancer. But a source close to Haddish told Page Six that the comedian is “serious about her sobriety.” They added, “She’s… very into her health right now. She’s going through her changes and is doing amazing.”

Well, hopefully, it sticks, and we would love for sobriety to be, like, her main thing. But she has to want that for herself.

Tiffany Haddish has written a bit about Stewart and her marriage in the past. However, the pair are not currently on speaking terms as far as the public knows. Following her trip to Israel, where she wanted to find a husband, there’s a renewed interest in her past. Here’s a brief look into the relationship between William Stewart and the Grammy Award-winning comedian.

William Stewart Is An Army Veteran

While William Stewart’s military rank and tenure remain shrouded in mystery, sources indicate he is an army veteran. Tiffany Haddish married her husband in 2008 when she was 29 years old. While Haddish and Stewart were dating, Stewart managed to utilize some of his army connections to track down and reunite Tiffany Haddish with her estranged father Tsihaye Reda Haddish. Tsihaye was able to walk his daughter down the aisle at the 2008 wedding. Tiffany Haddish has referred to in the past as one of the happiest days in her life.

Unfortunately, the relationship wasn’t flawless, marked by explosive arguments that occasionally escalated into physical altercations. In Tiffany Haddish’s 2017 memoir The Last Black Unicorn, she outlined a pattern of physical and emotional abuse that she suffered at the hands of her husband. She cited these instances as causing their separation in 2011, and divorce in 2013. According to Haddish, Stewart began to exhibit stalker-like behavior after their relationship concluded, causing her to fear for her life.

Tiffany Haddish’s ex-husband maintains his innocence regarding the alleged abuse. He even filed a $1 million lawsuit for slander, libel, and defamation after The Last Black Unicorn hit the shelves. Initially slated for April 2020, the trial faced significant delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As of now, it appears that the former couple has reached an out-of-court settlement, as there has been no progress on the court filing since the initial dispute.

William Stewart has released a rebuttal to The Last Black Unicorn, however, in the form of his book titled Trust, Lies, and Deceit: The Real Tiffany Haddish Revealed. Released in 2022, the book features Stewart’s perspective on his brief but eventful marriage to the renowned comedian. The back cover of the book provides insight into Stewart’s stated goal. “Part memoir, part tell-all TRUTH, this book dispels the rumors and shows the other side of Hollywood from someone whom wasn’t blinded by the bright lights and lust for fame!” it reads.

Regardless of how the marriage played out, Tiffany Haddish has moved on from her former husband. She learned to approach her relationships with men differently than she ever did before. In 2020, she briefly dated the rapper Common and expressed that the relationship helped her to learn what healthy boundaries looked like. She is quoted as saying, “He’s definitely shown me new things in that way, where I’m a little more, like, ‘Oh, you guys are kind creatures,’ because for a long time, I thought, you know, most men are pretty mean. Tiffany Haddish has continued to face backlash for her controversial trip to Israel. Haddish livestreamed segments of her tour as she was driven around Jerusalem in a bus that appeared to contain several other influencers and pro-Israeli media figures. This has led to a wave of increased backlash against the actress, whose joke about “going to find a man” was retweeted by the Israeli government. This comes amid a wave of new attacks on Palestine, as well as related issues stemming from the ongoing war.

“She’s on an influencer trip a few miles away from where kids being slaughtered. Must be fun,” one person said. “Meanwhile people on the other side are literally starving to death. Smfh dystopian af,” added another. “This is disgusting. To make a mockery of the pain and suffering ,” lamented a third. Many more people filled the comments with rallying cries of “Free Palestine”.

Meanwhile, Haddish also tearfully defended her trip during a live interview with TMZ earlier in the week. However, Haddish, despite veering into the territory of IDF propaganda, insisted that she also cared about the plight of the embattled Palestinian population. At the time of writing, over 30,000 Palestinians have been killed. Israel has continually vowed to leave nothing but dust in the face of international calls that they are perpetuating genocide.

Furthermore, Haddish also addressed the jokes she had recorded and published online during her flight to Israel. Even pro-Israel advocates were dismayed that Haddish had joked that she was on her way to “find a man” in Israel. Haddish doubled down, praising herself for doing something that most other single women wouldn’t dare to do. But are we sure that is Katt Williams? He looks a lot like Charleston White,” Haddish wrote on Instagram. It’s a similar response that she previously gave to Williams in 2020. In that instance, he implied she was only famous because she slept with white men.

Meanwhile, yesterday, Tiffany Haddish began going viral as she claimed that she was on her way to Israel. Haddish is Jewish and she wanted to go to the country to see what is really going on. As she put it, she wants to “learn and see with my own eyes.” Subsequently, Haddish was mocked by many on the internet. Fans found this move to be extremely disrespectful, especially with so many people dying in Gaza right now. Even Mia Khalifa had to step in with a sarcastic tweet of her own.

Tiffany Haddish trolled Katt Williams on her Instagram Story, earlier this week, after the legendary comedian called her out during his bombshell interview with Shannon Sharpe on the Club Shay Shay podcast. In doing so, Haddish joked about Williams having a “drug addiction” and referenced working together again in the future.

“I am looking forward to us working together one day again @kattwilliams we will definitely have fun!” Haddish wrote in her first post. “At least I know I will cause I am talking [poop emoji] on set everyday we work together… I am excited about how hard we will laugh.” In a follow-up post, she added: “@kattwilliams say he don’t have no drug addiction and I believe Him! This lighter leash at the Emmys makes me question my beliefs!…”

His statement was to highlight the power white women hold over Black men. Furthermore, Williams claimed that white women would also often make it abundantly clear to him that they had the power to take him down if they wanted to. “You see how he got a Black woman and she got his charges cut in half? The comedian’s comments come weeks after a New York court found Majors guilty of misdemeanor reckless assault in the third degree and a violation of harassment. However, Majors was acquitted on additional charges of assault and aggravated harassment. The actor, who Marvel is replacing in the role of Kang the Conqueror, will be sentenced in February. Tiffany Haddish Jokes About Her DUI Arrest In Newest Stand-Up

Last month, Tiffany Haddish was hit with a DUI following a Thanksgiving arrest. She was spotted asleep in the drivers seat of her car and observers notified the police. It was the second time she dealt with such an arrest following a 2022 incident in Georgia that was due to go to trial soon until it was recently delayed. Haddish appears to be headed in the direction of taking both cases to trial after pleading not guilty.

Despite the severity of the circumstances, Haddish has still been willing to make light of the situation throughout. Right after being released on bail from her most recent arrest she popped up at a comedy show. While there she was able to crack jokes about the situation, but she had even more in the tank. During a recent appearance at The Laugh Factory for their Christmas-themed show she brought up the quality of jails in Beverly Hills.
