Is Iggy Azalea Retired From Music?

Around this time last year, Iggy Azalea teased that she was up to some “scandalous sh*t.” That was soon revealed to be an aesthetic project called “Hotter Than Hell” as well as a very profitable OnlyFans page. Her “scandalous sh*t” announcement also promised new music by the summer, and sure enough “Money Come” arrived in August. However, there have been no signs of an album, which shouldn’t be too much of a surprise considering her 2021 effort was titled The End Of An Era. She also told Billboard it was “probably the last project I’m going to put out musically.” Still, the door has remained slightly ajar — until now.

Is Iggy Azalea Retired From Music?

It sure sounds like it. On Tuesday, January 2, Azalea wrote an extremely long post on X (formerly Twitter) that confirms she is “not going to finish my album” and likely not going to write music anymore at all. Read the full post below.

“This is gonna be long….
so only bother reading if you love me.
(If you still bother anyway you’re a weirdo who has been warned [shrug emoji, laugh-crying emoji].)

I’ve always been someone who finds my joy in being creative & seeing my ideas come to life.
For a long time I used music to deliver my big crazy ideas to the world.

I know a lot of people have this idea that I was ‘bullied away from music’ and that’s something I’ve always laughed at because I’d never be bullied out of anything!
In fact, I’m too stubborn.
I think I’ve even resisted changes within myself at times, purely because I don’t like being viewed as someone who quits.

In truth what I’ve known for a long time is that I feel more passionately about design and creative direction than I do about song writing.
To many of you that’s no shock to read.
It shows in my work. Haha!
Jokes aside, i do spend a lot more time on that part of things… because Im most confident at that.

That’s why I want to let you know that I’m not going to finish my album.
It’s been paused for a few months while I was giving direction for a different project & in truth I just haven’t felt the urge to go back to it.
I feel really happy & passionate in my day to day life when my minds focused on that and so I want to stick to what’s undeniably best for me. [flower emoji]

Cant wait to start sharing some of the things I’ve been involved in creating & hoping you’ll see my quirk & humor in anything I touch!

I know for some fans this probably makes you feel a little deflated –
I’m sorry to let you down.
But, it’s more important I don’t let myself down.
I hope youll understand.

Talk soon! I Love you. [silver heart emoji]”

Iggy Azalea Says She Won’t Finish Her Upcoming (Well, Not Anymore) Album And Explains Why

It appears Australian rapper and model Iggy Azalea may be shifting her focus away from music. Yesterday (January 2), Azalea took to Twitter to reveal that she is opting not to finish her upcoming album.

Azalea explained that she has found herself more fulfilled working in creative direction.

“In truth what I’ve known for a long time is that I feel more passionately about design and creative direction than I do about song writing,” Azalea said. “To many of you that’s no shock to read.”

The announcement arrives almost a year after Azalea launched her “Hotter Than Hell X OnlyFans” project, which featured Azalea in steamy boudoir photos. Elsewhere in the post, Azalea brushed off claims that she had been “bullied” out of making music.

“I know a lot of people have this idea that I was ‘bullied away from music’ and that’s something I’ve always laughed at because I’d never be bullied out of anything,” Azalea said. “In fact, I’m too stubborn.”

Nicki Minaj Addresses Tory Lanez & Iggy Azalea Bar, Ranks Her Own Albums

Nicki Minaj recently sat down for a very enlightening interview with Joe Budden, one that finally cleared up one of her new album Pink Friday 2‘s most memorable lyrics. “Stay in your Tory lane, b***h, I’m not Iggy,” she rapped on the cut “FTCU,” a pointed reference to both artists’ working relationship, collaborative history, the letter that Azalea wrote in support of Lanez, and possibly a Megan Thee Stallion diss. Given how much this bar stood out, we’re not surprised that the Slaughterhouse MC wanted to dive deeper in. When Joe asked, the Trinidadian rapper turned the question on him to see if his interpretation is on the right track.

“Well, it could be shade to a few people,” Joe Budden began. “Without saying if you think the shade is in mind, what do you think the line itself means?” Nicki Minaj clapped back. “‘I’m not one of them,’ that’s what I think it means,” he replied. “And I think it was a clever way to say that.” “Yeah! Thank you,” she responded, although she seemed comically taken aback by his laughter right after. “I really appreciate me getting a compliment from Mr. Buddens! I’m taking it.” “I liked your last album!” Joe hilariously defended, to which Nicki said that even she doesn’t like that album.

Tory Lanez & Iggy Azalea Bar Explained: Watch

Elsewhere, she also spoke a little bit more on Queen indirectly via social media on Friday (December 22). Moreover, Nicki Minaj provided her “honest ranking” of all her albums on Twitter, which may surprise folks. “Ok here’s my honest ranking,” she began. “1. Pink Friday 2. 2. The Pinkprint. 3. QUEEN. 4. Pink Friday. 5. Pink Friday Roman Reloaded (The Re-Up). But I truly respect all gag city resident opinions. What the albums mean to you is your own truth based on where you were in your own life.” Considering that the 41-year-old apparently doesn’t even like Queen, this insinuation that she doesn’t like Pink Friday might be the reason she wanted to make whatever she wanted to make on its sequel.

Nicki Minaj Ranks Her Albums

Meanwhile, these comments on the Tory and Iggy bar are interesting considering other comments during this interview on her appreciation for female rappers. Surely the coming days and weeks will bring us more revelations and statements in this vein from someone so connected to their fanbase. We can’t wait to see how the new year shapes up for the Queen. How Many Kids Does Playboi Carti Have?

Playboi Carti returned with his third single in a matter of weeks on Tuesday. “H00DBYAIR,” shared guerilla-style via the Opium Instagram account, provided a glimpse into Carti’s next musical leap in his follow-up to Whole Lotta Red. However, it also shed insight into Playboi Carti’s personal life, namely his kids. While we all knew that he shared a child with Iggy Azalea, the rapper revealed that he also welcomed a daughter earlier this year. Below, we’re diving into what we know about Playboi Carti’s kids.

Onyx: Carti’s Son With Iggy Azalea

His first child, Onyx, is the son he shares with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. Their relationship has been publicly tumultuous, with Azalea expressing dissatisfaction with Carti’s parenting involvement. She has taken to social media to voice her grievances, particularly highlighting instances where Carti allegedly prioritized his career and social engagements over their son. Azalea criticized Carti for his absence during significant family moments, like Christmas, and accused him of neglecting his paternal duties. Carti has assured fans that he remains active in his son’s life, acknowledging Onyx on his latest record. Additionally, Onyx appeared in his new documentary that surfaced online.

Yves: Carti’s Daughter

Most recently, the rapper unveiled the news that he has a daughter. Although little is known about her, he did confirm that his newborn is named Yves in his latest song. “I was twenty-four when I had lil’ Onyx/ Then I had a daughter, I had a daughter too/ Twenty-seven when I had Yves/ Now I can finally sleep,” he raps on his single. Fans later believed that his daughter’s name was incorrectly spelled Eve. However, he took to Instagram to share a Music-style post that corrected the spelling.

This stands as the first occasion in which Playboi Carti has revealed that he has a daughter. However, as Complex points out, the rapper was arrested earlier this year regarding a domestic dispute with police describing the alleged victim as his “pregnant girlfriend.” It should be noted that his attorney denied that there was truth behind these claims. “Mr. Carter was falsely accused,” Steel said at the time. “Pursuant to my communications with the Fulton County District Attorney‘s Office, this case will be dismissed without any prosecution or litigation.”

Iggy Azalea Goes Back And Forth With An OnlyFans Subscriber About Playboi Carti’s Album

Iggy Azalea has become more than a musical artist over the past year. The “Fancy” superstar took her glowing physical appearance to the heavily-maligned content-creating platform, OnlyFans. Followers have thirsted over for years and she decided to take advantage of that in some shape or form. Because of her already massive following Iggy has already raked in around an astonishing $48 million. That figure is good enough to make her the most successful celebrity on the site. Her fellow femcee, Cardi B, was not too far behind, making around $45 million.

Overall, the Aussie has been proud of her decision to be a part of OF. “Once I looked beyond the surface-level chatter about what it means to have an OnlyFans, I realized it was the perfect platform to launch a multimedia concept on.” In addition to providing exclusive content, Iggy has been able to preview some of her music on it as well. A recent story from XXL may have revealed another way in which the female rapper has made so much from it.

All This Fan Wants Is Any Sort Of Update From Iggy Azalea

A screenshot from an alleged conversation between Azalea and an OF subscriber leaked online. However, it may not be about what you might think. A few updates about the album have come out here and there. But, this fan was determined to find out something from someone who used to date him and has a kid with him. Iggy has yet to comment on this conversation. Sadly, it looks like we will have to wait longer for any new update on Carti’s music.

Iggy Azalea Films Sexy Swimsuit Video Soundtracked To Bad Bunny’s “MONACO”

Iggy Azalea’s decision to join OnlyFans is just one of the major money moves we’ve seen her make in the past year. The Australian artist has been steadily raking in revenue by showing off her hourglass figure in skimpy bikinis and stunning lingerie. However, we’ve notably been seeing less of her on our feeds in recent months. To go from delivering a near-constant supply of thirst traps to practically vanishing from the face of the Earth had Azalea’s fans concerned for her wellbeing, but she confirmed earlier this month that life has been good for her offline.

On Tuesday (October 24), we saw the “Work” hitmaker once again showing off in a swimsuit. Rather than just relaxing by the pool, this time, Azalea actually hopped in the water, propping her phone up on a ledge to capture her voluptuous curves in the tight, white two-piece. The brief clip is soundtracked by Bad Bunny’s “MONACO,” which just arrived on his latest LP.

Besides teasing us with her scantily clad snaps, Azalea has also hinted at more music to come for her fans. Her last single, “Money Come,” brought forth plenty of energy at the end of August. Since then she’s been showing us more works in progress. At this time, no future release dates are common knowledge among the blonde beauty’s followers. Still, we’ll be sure to update you with more information as it becomes available to us.

Even with support from people like Iggy Azalea, the first week sales for Bad Bunny’s latest LP still came up slightly shorter than anticipated. The projections may not have been exactly on point, but they were right about Benito securing another No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts with Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Manana. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Iggy Azalea Hater Receives Brutal Clapback On Twitter

Iggy Azalea just dropped her single “Money Come” with an accompanying music video, and results are a bit mixed online. For the most part, her fans are happy to see her back in regular release mode, especially following a high-profile scandal due to her letter supporting Tory Lanez releasing online. However, that’s not to say that the Australian MC doesn’t have her fair share of haters online, too. Still, she’s never let them faze her, and she responded quite brutally to a particular Twitter user who hates that her newest song is seeing success. No matter what gets thrown her way, the 33-year-old will employ sass to defend herself.

“@IGGYAZALEA’s “Money Come” is now Top 50 on US Rhythmic Radio (Mediabase,” an original tweet read. That prompted Iggy Azalea to ask fans to keep requesting it on the airwaves. “Top 50? OH GIRL THE BAR IS IN HELL,” the hater in question replied. “You’d know,” the “Fancy” hitmaker clapped back. “You’ve been living down there your whole a** life. Typing away with sweaty hands and no grass to touch in sight. [shrugging emoji] [heart hands emoji].”

Iggy Azalea Claps Back At Twitter Hater

Fortunately for her, though, she’s been able to reflect on more positive experiences more than the negative ones. For example, Iggy Azalea recently recalled her concert in Brazil that, despite being subjected to heavy rainfall, was still an electric experience for her. “I look like a wet rat,” the Sydney native expressed on Twitter following her performance. “This was the most chaotic show I’ve ever done and probably my favorite. Don’t even care what I looked like or how wet we all were it was just fun and I hope I get to see you all again soon. Truly, I love you. Night.”

Meanwhile, it’ll be interesting to see whether this is the year that Iggy makes her massive comeback. While her profile in sheer artistic terms is not as high as what people criticize about her, she’s clearly on a path to set that record straight. With great performances behind the four-time Grammy nominee, she can certainly keep holding her own with compelling material and engagement. Iggy Azalea Issued Fans In Saudi Arabia An Apology After Her Embarrassing Wardrobe Malfunction Caused Her To End The Show

Based on the lyrics of her new single, “Money Come,” financial gain is a clear motivating factor for rapper Iggy Azalea. Unfortunately, fans of Iggy weren’t able to get their money’s worth after she was reportedly forced to end her recent show early. On Friday, August 25, during Iggy’s scheduled concert at the Gamers8 event in Saudi Arabia, she suffered an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction.

Although Iggy has discussed her love for her body, her skin-tight onstage attire just couldn’t handle all the curves. In the clip captured by concertgoers, Iggy, dressed in what appears to be a latex catsuit, moves along to the choreography. But the garment quickly began to slip from her left leg, nearly exposing her intimate area.

As she places her hand to cover her private area, just in case the split rose any further, she looks to the side of the stage for guidance. Typically, a wardrobe malfunction can be brushed off, but because of the country’s strict dress code and other modesty laws, she ended the show.

In a now-deleted series of posts on social media, Iggy issued an apology to fans. On Instagram, she wrote, “Saudi Arabia… Wasssssss…. probably the worst possible place to have my pants split & unfortunately, I wasn’t permitted to end the show. 🤷‍♀️🥲. BUT silver lining, the promoters were amazingly kind to me & the PEOPLE who came were the absolute most supportive.”

In a screenshot captured by Page Six, Iggy also took to Twitter to write, “I love you guys. This was not what I intended for the show, but it’s a memory I’ll have forever & ultimately showed me how kind, loving & supportive people can be while you’re having such an embarrassing moment 😭🫶.”

Iggy Azalea’s ‘Money Come’ Video Is An Orgasmic Overthrowing Of The Patriarchy, But Not In A ‘Barbie’ Movie Sort Of Way

Iggy Azalea is clocking back into work. The rapper has been enjoying her newly found success on OnlyFans, but as promised, her new music has arrived. Iggy’s thirst for financial expansion, seen in the recent sale of her publishing catalog, is at the root of her new single, “Money Come.”

The record — produced by Tricky Stewart, JerkPoP, and Nana Afriyie — is the first offering from her forthcoming album. In the song, Iggy is locked into her wealth goal, tuning her haters out as she raps, “Say you gonna run up on who? I need proof / These b*tches p*ssies, their mouths are too loose / Still know some neighborhood boys who can shoot / I can put it on your head and they can put you on the news / P*ssy so wet, he need an anchor / Where that b*tch talkin’ sh*t? I wanna thank her / ‘Cause even though I don’t f*ck with you hoes / All the hatin’ kept my eyes on the money like a banker / Come baby, come baby, money make me come.”

For the official video, directed by Christian Breslaver, is an orgasmic overthrowing of the patriarchy and not in a Barbie movie sort of way.
Conceptually, “Money Come” is a crossbred of Meghan Trainor’s “Nice To Meet Ya” and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Thot Sh*t” videos as Iggy, along with her fellow women in combat armed to the teeth, storm the office to take back control of the boardroom as a result the bag.

Watch Azalea’s video for “Money Come” above.

Megan Thee Stallion is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
