Roddy Ricch’s Album ‘Live Life Fast’ Will Drop In Time For Christmas

Traditionally, the holiday season has always been kind of a dead zone for new music releases because much of the music industry infrastructure is shut down; venues are closed, office workers go on vacation, and artists — who, like most of us, want to spend time with family — don’t often feel like working when no one else is.

However, over the last few years, it’s becoming more and more common for at least one major artist to utilize the relatively quiet period to drop a new project free of all the fuss and competition that crowds release dates in, say, summer or fall. In 2019, Rico Nasty released Nightmare Vacation, her long-awaited debut, and Roddy Ricch put out Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial, while in 2020, Playboi Carti dropped his own highly-anticipated third album, Whole Lotta Red.

This year, it looks like Roddy is going to continue his own tradition; his new album, Live Life Fast, has officially been given a release date after months of anticipation: December 17, 2021. It seems he likes the December release now (as he should — Please Excuse Me debuted at No. 1 in 2019, then returned to the top spot a few weeks later) and will enjoy a release window that’ll see him claiming plenty of listeners’ attention… especially those looking for an alternative to all the holiday classics. Roddy and his label, Atlantic Records, shared a glimpse of the album’s cover, as well, which was photographed by Raven Varona — photographer to the likes of Beyonce, Jay-Z, Future, and more.

Live Life Fast is due 12/17 on Atlantic.

Joyner Lucas Announces “Rambo” With Lil Durk Dropping Friday

After dropping two separate albums in 2020, Joyner Lucas apparently decided he would focus on collaborative efforts this year instead. This year alone, he has linked with Lil Baby, J. Cole, Lil Tjay Ty Dolla $ign and others.

Now, Joyner is on to his next collaboration, tapping Lil Durk to feature in his new song “Rambo.” The song will release this Friday (Dec. 3), as the cover shows cartoon versions of Lucas and Durk in army gear.

Joyner kicked off his 2021 on April 30 with his Lil Baby collab “Ramen & OJ,” which added another stellar verse from Baby to add to the narrative that he particularly excels as a feature artist. With Lucas on the hook, “Ramen & OJ” was able to peak at No. 67 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Next, he continued his new school ways, by linking with Lil Tjay to make “Dreams Unfold” in August, as the duo put on an intriguing melodic performance, establishing pleasantly surprising chemistry.

On Sept. 24, Joyner linked with J. Cole for a storytelling clinic on “Your Heart.” Discussing a complicated romance, Lucas gives a more naive perspective on the relationship, as Cole’s verse on the backend of the song provides a wiser outlook on love.

In October, Joyner released two singles, one being “Late to the Party” with Ty Dolla $ign and the other being a solo effort in “Duck Duck Goose.” Although he refrained from dropping any music in November, it seems that he began to heat up in the fall.

As winter commences and December begins, Joyner now looks to add another collaboration to his 2021 campaign, dropping “Rambo” with Chicago’s Durkio this Friday.

Beyoncé’s Daughters Blue Ivy & Rumi Are All Grown Up In Ivy Park’s Latest Campaign

Not only does Beyoncé absolutely dominate the music industry, but the 40-year-old also has some major pull in the fashion world. She founded Ivy Park back in 2016, and has been consistently dropping amazing collections since then.

For her fifth link up with Adidas, Yoncé has presented us with Halls of Ivy, described as a “figurative space that is somewhere between where you are now, and where you aspire to be…Halls of Ivy is a boundless, unconfined place where everyone is welcome.”

The official Ivy Park has been teasing the collection for the past few days, and on November 30th they dropped off the official campaign video that takes us inside what looks like a preppy academic institution. Familiar faces modelling some of Beyoncé’s designs include Natalia Bryant, James Harden, Jalen Green and Reese Witherspoon’s eldest children, Deacon and Ava Phillips.

On top of all the aforementioned stars, the Lemonade hitmaker also enlisted the help of her two daughters, Blue Ivy and Rumi Carter to pose alongside her in some of the footage. Like many others, we couldn’t help but notice how similar the two young girls look, and just how much they’ve grown up over the years.

Following the ad’s release, countless people took to Twitter to discuss the gorgeous garments, although the main topic of conversation was the Carter girls, who both ended up trending. “Blue Ivy and Rumi are trending. Outsold Beyoncé and Ivy Park,” one user wrote.

As WWD reports, Halls of Ivy offers 89 apparel options, 11 accessories, and four styles of footwear. Classic silhouettes including a patchwork puffer, bralettes, rompers, and more are just a few of the products you’ll be able to get your hands on via the Adidas e-commerce site on December 9th before they launch globally on December 10th.

Sizing ranges from XXXS to 3XL for unisex offerings and 1X to 4X for womenswear specifically. It’s been noted that prices range from $45 to $600 USD, with sneakers coming in between $140 and $200.

NBA Youngboy Says He Would Work With Tekashi 6ix9ine

The music industry has effectively blackballed Tekashi 6ix9ine. Though he was able to snag a new feature from Nicki Minaj and Akon for Tattle Tales, there were rumors that he had secured a feature from NBA Youngboy. Ultimately, the song never ended up on the final tracklist while it was later revealed that Youngboy turned down $1M to work with Tekashi.

Tekashi 6ix9ine’s decision to take the stand during the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods trial has left the majority of the music industry wary of him. During a recent conversation with Akademiks on Clubhouse, Youngboy explained that he had no ill will towards Tekashi. In fact, he’s more than open to working with 6ix9ine before most rappers in the music industry.

“I’ll do a song with 6ix9ine before I do a song with half of these pussy ass n***as, ya hear me?” Youngboy told Akademiks, who replied, “The industry gon’ kill you for that.”

“The industry can suck my dick,” YB quickly responded. “I ain’t got shit — I ain’t got nothin’ against him. That shit ain’t gon nun to do with me. I wasn’t in his situation. Half of these pussy ass n***as that be talkin’ don’t know what they’d do if they were in his situation. What the fuck that got to do with me or anybody else?”

Akademiks said that 6ix9ine is likely going to end up reaching out to ask for a quote for a feature. “He can hit you. I’ll have a conversation with him. I just told you I ain’t got nothin’ to do with all that pussy ass shit. His business don’t concern my business,” YB added.

Cowboys’ Damontae Kazee Told Police He Was With Dak Prescott & Ezekiel Elliott Hours Before DWI Arrest

The Dallas Cowboys have been skidding as of late, losing three of their last four games after starting the season 6-1. Even when they were still winning most of their games though, one of their players ran into some trouble.

On Oct. 19, during a BYE week for the Cowboys, safety Damontae Kazee was pulled over and charged with misdemeanor DWI. After the incident, he took full responsibility for his actions: “I apologized to my family, my teammates, my coaches and to the owner, who gave me a job… I’m happy the Lord helped me get out. I didn’t hit nobody, I didn’t hurt myself. Just thankful I’m here now.”

Kazee has played in every Cowboys game since, and has yet to face repercussions from the NFL. However, TMZ obtained footage last night (Nov. 30) of the police body cam footage from his arrest. In the video, he explained he was leaving dinner with his teammates, and slurred his words while mentioning the team’s star quarterback and running back: “I was just with Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott and we were just having fun — went out. I’m from Atlanta, I’m not used to these roads, these die roads getting onto the freeway and stuff. I was with the Atlanta Falcons, got cut off their team last year with Dan Quinn. Came over here to the Dallas Cowboys, and today we were just going out to eat dinner and stuff because it was rookie night.”

Kazee was then subjected to a few sobriety tests, which prompted his arrest due to his poor performance. The NFL is likely on high notice for DWI and DUI charges since the Henry Ruggs incident, so after this video surfaced, Kazee may be in for league punishment.

Roddy Ricch Announces “LiveLifeFast” Release Date

In an era where plenty of rappers dish out numerous projects a year, Roddy Ricch has always weighed quality over quantity. The release of Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial came after a year of anticipation and arrived at the tail end of 2019. Nearly two years after the release of his debut album, the rapper is finally gearing up to drop off sophomore projectLiveLifeFast.

Yesterday, the rapper shared the album cover throughout his social media pages without any formal announcement. Roddy switched out all of his profile pictures to the cover art, leading fans to believe that new music was officially on the way before the year ends.

It looks like the speculation was correct, after all. Roddy Ricch took to Instagram this morning where he formally announced that LiveLifeFast will be arriving on December 17th, nine days after the two-year anniversary of PEMFBAS. The rapper shared the release date with a clear glimpse of the cover art which features the rapper holding his double R chain in what appears to be a speeding Rolls Royce.

Roddy Ricch might be a little late, once again, to declare find himself on any year-end album lists but the release of his new album will bring some new bops to close out 2021 and kick-off 2022.

Drake, Doja Cat, & Juice WRLD Dominate Spotify Wrapped 2021’s “Most Streamed” Lists

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! After making it through the whirlwind that was 2021, Spotify has finally begun sharing a compilation of the music and musicians who made the past 11 months at least a bit more bearable.

While many of us are still waiting to see our individual results in the app, the streaming platform has unveiled which songs and albums were most popular amongst users. Olivia Rodrigo’s “drivers license” takes the cake for the U.S.’s most streamed song, followed by her other pop hit, “good 4 u.” Doja Cat and SZA’s TikTok anthem “Kiss Me More” came in third, followed by “Heat Waves” by Glass Animals and Dua Lipa’s “Levitating” featuring DaBaby.

As far as most streamed artists go, Drake cemented himself as #1, which isn’t a major surprise. Behind him is Taylor Swift, the late Juice WRLD, Kanye West, and Bad Bunny, almost all of whom shared super hot new projects already this year.

This year, Spotify also highlighted the throwback albums (released more than 20 years ago) that hit home with users. Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours, Nirvana’s Nevermind, Linkin Park’s Hybrid Theory, Guns N’ Roses’ Appetite for Destruction, and The Beatles’ self-titled record have all been in heavy rotation.

Bobby Shmurda Says He Hasn’t Had Control Of His Music For 8 Years

Bobby Shmurda began releasing music again in September with “No Time For Sleep (Freestyle).” This was his first release in nearly seven years, and his first drop since being released from his six-year prison stay in February.

Since “No Time For Sleep (Freestyle),” Bobby has given the world two more singles in “Cartier Lens” and “Splash,” as he looks forward to delivering his upcoming album in the near future. In October, he shared with fans that the project was in the mixing stage, but we have heard very little about it since.

On Wednesday (Dec. 1), he shared and quickly deleted an Instagram post that explained he had no control over when his music would come out, and his label is hindering him from releasing it: “I ain’t been in charge of my music since I was 19 years old and I just turned 27 and honestly idk when sh*t dropping so don’t ask me sh*t go ask them mf’s since they wanna control everything!!!!!!!”

Bobby’s frustration towards his label is concerning, and there are only a handful of culprits it could be. Bobby is currently signed to Epic Records and is under the management of Roc Nation. In August, fans were concerned Epic Records was the reason he had not released any music, but Bobby attributed it to being too busy: “I’m Bizzy running round needed some time to breathe they had me locked up In the pins doing 23!”

Now, it appears his label might be the problem this time around. Bobby has been making music with some of rap’s hottest acts like Polo G, Meek Mill, MigosLil Durk, Rowdy Rebel, Lil Ui Vert and DaBaby. Hopefully his label issues can be put aside and this music can see the light of day soon.

Check out Bobby’s post below.
