Juice WRLD’s Manager Wants To Get The Rapper Into ‘Fortnite’ As A Playable Character

Juice WRLD was a well-known gamer in his life; fans know he was tapped in with Faze Clan, regularly expressed his love for games, and even paid homage to classic games with his music throughout his career, including on the Twisted Metal-inspired cover of his Death Race For Love album. Likewise, the gaming community reciprocated his love, with streamers regularly playing his music and expressing their grief for his death in 2018. Now, it appears the late rapper could receive one of the ultimate honors, being put into one of the most popular modern games as a player skin.

Juice’s former manager, Peter Jideonwo, posted a video to social media that has since circulated on Twitter via hip-hop-focused accounts saying that he is currently in talks with Epic Games, the publisher of the popular shooter game Fortnite, to get the rapper into the game. “(We) really need Juice WRLD in Fortnite,” he said. “We’ve been trying our hardest, and that’s also a work in progress… It would be cool because everyone in Fortnite loves Juice and ‘Come And Go’ was a huge hit in Fortnite. I think it fits. So if y’all wanna go hit up Epic Games and Fortnite, y’all should definitely do that too.”

A photo of a purported player skin representing Juice WRLD has been circulating since, with fans speculating that the rapper could be joining the game soon, but apparently, the photo in question is just fan-made concept art. Should Juice join the game, he’ll be the third rapper after Travis Scott and Anderson .Paak, who was added as part of the duo Silk Sonic alongside his groupmate Bruno Mars. Last year, the game also added LeBron James as a playable skin.

Meanwhile, another rapper was recently added to a different popular shooter; Snoop Dogg, who previously collaborated with Call Of Duty to provide his voice, will be added to three of the franchise’s current games as an operator with special equipment.

‘Euphoria’s’ Angus Cloud Makes A Cameo In The Powerful Video For Juice WRLD’s ‘Cigarettes’

Last month marked the official posthumous release of Juice WRLD’s track “Cigarettes.” A song that had seen a slew of bootleg releases when the Chicago rapper was still alive, it sees him meditating on addiction and how it can affect relationships. The initial visualizer came out last month with an anime aesthetic. But the official video dropped today, featuring a cameo from Angus Cloud of Euphoria. It’s really more of a short film that takes a powerful look at how alcohol can destroy someone’s life and how the temptation will always be there.

In the video, a young guy’s life is falling apart because of alcoholism. He has trouble staying sober at work, he stays out late at the bar instead of going home to his girlfriend, and he’s just spiraling out of control. His life effectively falls apart and he enters a treatment program. We get a flash forward to 999 days later and he’s riding in a convertible with three friends, the main one played by Cloud. They enjoy the breeze while cruising and then go to a club, before the story climaxes and the main character faces a decision based on what he’s been through over the past few years. Directed by Steve Cannon, it’s a very realistic story about addiction and recovery that, considering Juice WRLD died of a drug overdose, hits even harder set to his music.

Two New Juice WRLD Singles, ‘Cigarettes’ And ‘Go Hard 2.0.’ Get The Anime Video Treatment

It’s almost astonishing to think of how much material the late Juice WRLD recorded before his death in December of 2019. The prolific Chicago rapper left behind plenty of material to be turned into awesome visuals like the ones for his new singles “Cigarettes” and Go Hard 2.0,” which both tap into Juice’s love for Japanese animation, or anime.

The video for “Cigarettes,” which you can watch above, takes a CGI approach, creating a colorful digital avatar of Juice that dances and emotes over the new track, which features a somber guitar riff backing Juice’s compliments toward a paramour who uplifts him in the midst of his addictions. The track was originally leaked in 2018 before being re-released today. It’s expected to appear the deluxe version of Juice’s new album Fighting Demons.

Meanwhile, below, you can check out the traditionally animated video for “Go Hard 2.0.” This dynamic, sci-fi accented short sees representations of some of Juice’s closest friends in the rap game working in a lab as he floats in a tube (some of their faces are blurred, suggesting that Juice’s label couldn’t get likeness clearances for them, but Lil Uzi Vert and Polo G are visible). When news of a meteor approaching the planet sounds an alarm, Uzi releases Juice to destroy the cosmic threat with some very Dragon Ball-ish powers. However, he also unleashes a musclebound alien with whom he engages in a battle royale. This song appears on the original version of Fighting Demons, which is out now via Grade A Productions and Interscope.

Juice WRLD’s Mother Says He Was ‘Ready To Get Help’ Prior To His Fatal Overdose

This past December marked the two-year anniversary of Juice WRLD’s death. The prospering young rapper was just 21 years old when he passed away following a drug overdose in late 2019 at Chicago’s Midway International Airport. Prior to the anniversary, the late rapper’s mother, Ms. Carmella Wallace, celebrated what would’ve been his 23rd birthday with a heartbreaking birthday letter to him. “You touched the world through your music with honesty and transparency,” she wrote. “You shared a message of healing and sincerely desired to make a difference in the lives of others.”

During a recent appearance on the The Tamron Hall Show show, Wallace opened up about Juice’s struggle with addiction and how she viewed the support system around him. “I just felt like his best interest wasn’t being looked out for,” she said. “I think people had their own agendas and they liked the lifestyle. And they were young too, so I have to give them that. They’re young so they don’t see things the way we would see it but I think that he just didn’t have the people in place to tell him to stop or to know [what was really wrong]. He just didn’t have that support system in place.

“I told him of my fears of him overdosing and encouraged him to speak to the psychologist I arranged for him to speak with,” she added. “But he was 19 and he knew everything. And the people around him, some of them would reach out to me. But not the inner, inner-circle.”

Wallace also spoke about a past conversation she had with Juice that left her confident he would get helpn. “I could tell there was a difference in him and that he wasn’t doing the lean,” she said. “I think he was still doing pills, but he told me he was ready to get help. It was just a special moment. We just had that moment where I just knew he was going to overcome it.”
