Lil Mosey Was Reportedly Ordered To Stay Away From His Accuser Ahead Of His Rape Trial

Back in April, Lil Mosey was charged with second-degree rape earlier this year after an incident with a woman at a Washington state cabin party in January. A warrant for his arrest was eventually issued after he failed to appear for a court date. Now, the rapper is reportedly being ordered to stay away from his rape accuser.

According to TMZ Mosey, who pleaded not guilty in the matter, was hit with a sexual assault pre-trial protection order and as a result of it, he cannot be within 500 feet of his accuser, must maintain absolute sobriety, and cannot possess a firearm. If the rapper owns any firearms, he must surrender them to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

As for the incident in question, the woman says she and a friend met Mosey for the party. While they initially gave consent for a sexual interaction, they both passed out due to alcohol consumption, nullifying that consent. The rapper and another accused individual, Francisco P. Prater, allegedly had intercourse with the women while they were passed out. In court documents, the woman says she received injuries to her arm, neck, and inner knee. She also claims another guest at the party told her the two men talked about “training two girls.”

If convicted, Mosey and Prater face up to life in prison and up to $50,000 in fines.

Lil Mosey Pleads Not Guilty To The Rape Charges Against Him

Lil Mosey has pled “not guilty” to the rape charges against him after turning himself in upon learning that a warrant had been issued due to a missed court date in January, according to local Centralia, Washington paper, The Chronicle. Mosey’s lawyer explained his absence from the initial court date, telling the court that the summons was sent to an address that Lil Mosey vacated five years ago, leaving him with no knowledge of the court date until after it had passed.

Mosey appeared for his arraignment, however, with his lawyers and his parents to enter the not guilty plea, and was released on $50,000 unsecured bail. The conditions of the bail include travel restrictions, which his lawyers requested lifted to accommodate his international tour dates, including Canada and Portugal for Rolling Loud. The lawyers also waived Mosey’s right to a speedy trial, requesting a date in January 2022 to give them time to locate witnesses they believe can clear his name.

The judge seemed amenable to lifting the travel restrictions, saying, “It’s not like he can go off and hide somewhere because that would make this so much worse.” However, the trial date was rejected, with Judge James W. Lawler reasoning that in the two days since accepting the case, the attorneys were unlikely to have discovered new witnesses and wouldn’t have needed so much additional time to track them down.

A woman accused Mosey and another teen, Francisco Prater, of having sex with her and another woman when they were inebriated and incapable of consenting during or after a party. After consuming alcohol, women say they passed out and woke up to the men assaulting them. Mosey was, at the time, just 17, but turned 18 earlier this year. Prater was 18, and has yet to turn himself in. The victim was legally an adult. Although police began investigating the same day, charges weren’t filed until 15 months later, earlier this month. Mosey’s trial is tentatively set for July 19.

Lil Mosey Has Reportedly Been Accused Of Rape And A Warrant Has Been Issued For His Arrest

Seattle rapper Lil Mosey — whose real name is Lathan Moses Stanley Echols — is the subject of a warrant in his home state after he was charged with second-degree rape several weeks ago, according to TMZ and The Chronicle. The warrant was issued after he failed to appear for a court date yesterday (April 21). The charge against Mosey carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment and up to $50,000 in fines.

The incident in question took place in January; a woman said she and a friend visited Mosey for a cabin party, where they passed out due to alcohol consumption and were in no state to give consent. They accused the rapper and another man, Francisco P. Prater, of having intercourse with them while unconscious. In an affidavit, the woman alleges injuries to her arm, neck, and inner knee, and that she received a message from another party guest telling her that the two men talked about “training two girls.”

Mosey first rose to national prominence in 2017, thanks to the single “Pull Up.” He was signed by Interscope, where he released “Blueberry Faygo,” his breakout and highest-charting hit, earning him a spot on the 2019 XXL Freshman cover. His most recent single, “Jetski,” was produced by Internet Money and featured fellow teen rapper Lil Tecca. He also appeared on Swae Lee’s “Krabby Step” single from the Spongebob soundtrack.
