[WATCH] Jadakiss Shuns Jim Jones’ Challenge For 1-on-1 Verzuz Battle

Screen Shot 2022 03 03 at 8.24.25 AM

Hands down, the most legendary battle to hit the VERZUZ stage was between The L.O.X. and Dipset, which still has some of the members from both sides still answering questions about last summer’s face off. Not long after the battle, Dipset capo Jim Jones sent out a challenge to Jadakiss, who was crowned the unofficial MVP of the VERZUZ between the two crews.

“I would want to have a Verzuz with Jada. Solo. He has to deal with me on my terms. He better be prepared,” said Jones. “When it comes to a top three, I don’t really have a list. I just got real smoke with Jada.”

Brushing off what seemed like a valid challenge, Jada said, “I heard him say that but I didn’t entertain it. I don’t think Verzuz would entertain it. I don’t even think the people would want to see that.”

Jada did say he would be open to a fitness battle against the “We Fly High” rapper, admitting that promoting health and wellness would be a positive challenge for them as well as the fans.

Jadakiss Explained Why Being Healthy Is The Most Important Part Of Being ‘Gangsta’

Jadakiss has been back on the forefront of the rap world recently, after The Lox had one of the most successful resurgence during their Verzuz battle with Cam’ron and Dipset this past summer. It was to the point that even LeBron James was talking about his legendary status after the battle.

Now, on his new show on Facebook Watch, The Pull Up, Jada has the chance to share some of his views on life as a veteran. The show features different guests coming through on different episodes to chop it up with Jada, and during his fifth episode, with guest rapper Lil Cease, he began to pontificate on the virtues of being healthy and taking care of yourself. He even went so far as to call the process “gangsta” and noted that he helped make working out a cool part of the rap world.

“I think healthy is gangsta,” Kiss said around the 2:20 mark during the show. “Everybody want to be tough guys and this and that, and rich. If you not healthy, you can’t be alive to spend your money. If you not healthy, you can’t enjoy the party, you can’t enjoy the perks of life, you won’t be here to see your kids graduate, to see ’em score they first touchdown, to see things like that. So health is more important than anything.”

Freddie Gibbs And Jadakiss Are A Menacing Duo With High-Class Raps On ‘Black Illuminati’

It’s been a year and a half since Freddie Gibbs delivered a project to the world with Alfredo alongside producer The Alchemist. While that isn’t a lot of time to wait for a new body of work from an artist, Gibbs is more than ready to unload a collection of raps on his fans. In the past year, Gibbs dropped “Big Boss Rabbit” and “Gang Signs” with Schoolboy Q, in addition to teaming up with the likes Nas, Bobby Sessions, Kenny Mason, and more. Now, Gibbs has aligned himself with Jadakiss, who’s also having quite the year, for their new single “Black Illuminati.”

The video for their new collab portrays them as an impenetrable duo as Freddie and Jada calmly flex their lyrical muscle with menacing raps. The track is presumably the latest single from Gibbs’ upcoming album SSS. While a release date or guest features for it has yet to be revealed, he has shared its roster of producers, and boy is it a good one. Pharrell, Madlib, Working On Dying, The Alchemist, Sevn Thomas, Hit-Boy, Boi-1da, Jake One, DJ Paul, Justice League, Tay Keith, Kaytranada, Bizness Boi, Kenny Beats, and Mike Will Made-It are all set to supply records for SSS according to Gibbs.

As for Jadakiss: He recently joined Benny The Butcher and Busta Rhymes for Snoop Dogg’s “Murder Music.” Jada also received the key to his hometown of Yonkers along with the other members in The LOX — Sheek Louch and Styles P.
