Machine Gun Kelly And Shaq ‘DJ Diesel’ O’Neal Will Help Tip-Off NBA All-Star Weekend By Performing

Basketball fans are in for a treat, as Machine Gun Kelly and Shaquille O’Neal (also known for his musical side as DJ Diesel) will be helping to kick off the NBA All-Star Weekend 2024 with some performances. They will take the stage on Thursday, February 15 at The Indiana Convention Center as part of the celebrations. As someone who got to see Shaq do a DJ set a few years ago, the crowd is really in for a wild time.

Those who are interested in getting tickets and have an American Express will be able to participate in the presale, which is currently open and will close tomorrow, February 8 at 12:59 p.m. ET. Only a maximum of four free tickets can be reserved, but Ticketmaster appears to be limiting the quantity and access — so it’s unclear if they’ve sold out of the presale at the moment.

If you did manage to secure tickets to the NBA on TNT American Express Road Show event, AmEx cardholders will receive access to a priority lane for faster entry into the venue. As part of the Road Show experience, there will also be photo opportunities and fan competitions with Shaq, Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, and Kenny Smith, according to a press release.

For those at home, it will start playing at 7 p.m. on TNT.

Meanwhile, the NBA also announced the rosters for the All-Star Celebrity Game today, and it includes 50 Cent and Lil Wayne as coaches, as well as Anuel AA, Walker Hayes, SiR, Jennifer Hudson, and AJ McLean playing.

More information about the NBA on TNT American Express Road Show featuring MGK and O’Neal can be found here.

Shaq to Become First Orlando Magic Player to Have Jersey Retired

Shaq will be the first Orlando Magic player to have his jersey retired. Shaquille O’Neal was surprised with the jersey retirement via Alex Martins, CEO of the Orlando Magic, and his pal Ernie Johnson during Inside the NBA.

“When someone asks who was the first player to officially put the Orlando Magic on the map, the answer is simple — Shaquille O’Neal,” Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins said. “He took this franchise to new heights, both on and off the court, and his legacy is still felt within our organization today. On behalf of the DeVos family, we are excited to honor Shaquille by raising No. 32 into the rafters of the Kia Center, where it will remain forever.”

Shaq has previously retired jerseys with the Los Angeles Lakers (No. 34) and Miami HEAT (No. 32). He was the No. 1 overall pick by the Magic in 1992 and spent his first four seasons with the franchise, becoming rookie of the year, four-time All-Star, and led the team to their first NBA Finals in 1995.

“It was a great four years there,” Shaq said during Inside. “I just wanted to come in and just make a name for myself. … I’d like to thank the city of Orlando, like to thank the Orlando Magic organization. Appreciate you very much.”

The retirement ceremony will be Feb. 12 when the Magic take on the Oklahoma City Thunder. The game, retirement and Inside the NBA will be on TNT.

Meek Mill And Rick Ross’ ‘Shaq & Kobe’ Video Is The Duo’s Dominating Display Of Their Own Musical Mamba Mentality

The rap reunion most fans thought would never happen has arrived. Rappers Meek Mill and Rick Ross joined forces on their new collaborative track, “Shaq & Kobe.” The Maybach Music Group members’ rumored falling-out is water under the bridge as the two floated across the track produced by ATL Jacob.

Instead of flooding the record with tons of name flips of the late Kobe Bryant, the dynamic duo embodiment his “Mamba mentality.” Neither waste a bar on a warm-up because there’s no time. Both jump straight into their performance to display their lyrical dominance. On the chorus, they paid homage to Bryant on the record’s chorus, both rapping, “Too much money and power / Walk up in the spot and punched the stuffings, keep tuckin’ the chopper / Too much money and power / Hustle in twenty-four hours.”

Ross takes a moment in his solo verse to address his lavish living arrangements (where the buffalos roam) that caused a stir with neighbors back in March. “Ya b*tch still at home with her mind blown / I got a pool of parrots and some buffaloes / And I got a pool in Paris in a bungalow / Still flippin’ numbers talking summer sauce / Everybody get to eat, that’s what a winner called / Sippin’ champagne, I own it myself / You n****s better learn to own you some wealth,” bragged Ross.

Meek Mill is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Rap Duo Coyote Team Up For The Collab Of A Lifetime With Shaquille O’Neal On “3 Lokos”

The rap combo of brothers Ladies Love Guapo and Ricky Blanco is fairly new to the Los Angeles rap scene. They started releasing music to streaming platforms about three years ago, and they have already recruited a legend to their newest single. “3 Lokos” features NBA and Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal, who if you were not aware is big in the music scene. The Diesel is also a DJ and longtime rapper, releasing his first song back in 1993, “(I Know I Got) Skillz.” That song would appear on his first studio album, Shaq Diesel.

Shaq quickly followed up a year later with his second full-length, Shaq-Fu: Da Return. However, he would take a long break from rapping until a few years past his retirement in 2011. In fact, 2016 was the next time he would hop on a beat. “My Squads Lit” by Pairanoid and Kryoman was the first track he would appear on in over 22 years. Since then, the Big Aristotle has become a massive DJ, packing outdoor shows and sending fans into moshpits. All of this history brings us to this new track from Coyote, “3 Lokos.”

According to TMZ, Shaq has been a fan of theirs for quite a while. Over time they formed a relationship, and the three of them began to work together in the studio. “[Shaq] was like as long as it’s some hardcore stuff, I’m down. So we made a hardcore hip hop ’90s-type song and we’re like ‘Bro, let’s send it to Shaq,’ and he got on it, did his thing, he spit like 32 bars. He went off!” Ladies Love Guapo said. Shaq certainly goes crazy over the aggressive instrumental. Shockingly, he does not curse one time, making it even more impressive. Hopefully, we get more moments like this from the Shaqtus.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new track, “3 Lokos,” by Coyote and Shaquille O’Neal? Did Shaq rap well on this cut? Is he the greatest former or current NBA player that can rap? We want to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the hottest song releases and all of the latest news around the music world.

Shaq Speaks On Massive Weight Loss

Shaq recently opened up about his recent efforts to lose weight. “I was getting chubby and couldn’t even walk up the stairs, I didn’t like the way I looked in the mirror, he told Entertainment Tonight. “I was like ‘I’m gonna lose 20’ and then I was trying to lose 20.” The weight loss journey began in December 2022, when a routine medical checkup revealed that it might do the NBA legend some good to lose some weight. “I got a couple people involved — it’s all about eating right. He continued. “A friend of mine called me and said, ‘You’re fat,’ and she gave me this guy’s name, and he did some blood work, and you know, ’cause I was the athlete — I wasn’t a salad eater.

Furthermore, Shaq confessed to his ignorance. “I won’t pay attention to any of that, I don’t care about none of that. I didn’t know what the difference between a carb and a protein, at 50 years old I never knew. So, he was saying you can’t do this, you can’t do that, more vegetables, my iron’s low,” he explained. However, Shaq went on to reveal that he has now dropped 55 lbs but is far from finished. “I’m probably gonna get between 315 and 330,” he added. 315 lbs was the weight Shaq was listed at during the 2006 season when he won a ring with the Heat. During his Lakers days with Kobe, Shaq had weighed as much as 395 lbs.

Shaq Drops 55 lbs

As mentioned, Shaq’s end goal is to get back to his peak weight from his playing days. That 2006 title run represented the final year before Shaq’s career dropped off. The 2006/07 season, in which the Heat became the first defending champs since 1957 to be swept in the first round, was the first time Shaq didn’t up at least 20 ppg. Granted, he was limited to just 40 games, but it really was the beginning on the end of the NBA great.

Aside from pursuing his weight loss goals, Shaq is also preparing for his “The Event”. It’s an annual fundraiser thrown by Shaq to support the Boys & Girls Club of America. The charitable act dates back to philanthropy performed by Shaq in his rookie season. Meanwhile, Shaq was also seen helping out families earlier this year. The NBA great was spotted at Home Depot buying a family in need a washer and dryer. Furthermore, he was also spotted buying bikes and laptops and Walmart and the Apple Store.

J. Cole Claims He And Burna Boy Are The New Shaq And Kobe

J. Cole recently hopped on one of Burna Boy’s new tracks, from the Nigerian performer’s album I Told Them… In his verse on “Thanks,” J. Cole compares he and Burna Boy to NBA stars Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant. Considering it’s the pair’s first time ever on a track together, it was a pretty bold comparison. With that being said, fans are loving the collab.

“Cole and Burna, Shaq and Kobe/ Winnin’ a ring, then we gon’ repeat and three-peat/ Them nerds hate, they seat geeks/ They peepin’ us on the low, we like the cheat sheet,” he rhymes. Burna Boy has also previously showcased his appreciation for J. Cole, even dubbing the artist a “legend.” It appears as though they see themselves as the next big duo, meaning that it’s possible fans will hear more collabs in the future.

Burna Boy confirmed that they have another track on deck in an interview for Complex’s “360 With Speedy” this week. In another recent interview with Zane Lowe, Burna Boy also shared how the two of them ended up working together. “Legend, man,” he said of J. Cole. “The truth is often hidden, but when you come across it and you are a person of truth yourself, you can’t help but recognize it. You know what I mean? That’s really the story of me and J Cole. It’s like, I recognize it.”

“That’s something I’ve always looked at, his settings, and thought, ‘Rah, that would be a nice, very conducive way to end up,’” he added. Aside from J. Cole, Burna Boy’s new album also includes features from 21 Savage, Dave, RZA, and more. Amid excitement for the LP, Burna Boy recently came under fire for some controversial comments he made about Black Americans. The artist responded to backlash yesterday, claiming that his “mission is to bring us together.” Keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Burna Boy and J. Cole.
