Lil Wayne’s Upcoming Uproar Festival Will Mark The Grand Re-Opening Of LA’s Legendary Coliseum

With more and more rappers holding their own festivals, Lil Wayne‘s Uproar Festival — named for his 2018 Carter V single produced by Swizz Beatz — found a perfect one. The August 13 event will mark the grand re-opening of Los Angeles’ legendary landmark, the Memorial Coliseum, after a $315 million renovation project that was completed in 2019. The 77,500 seat venue has been empty ever since due to the coronavirus pandemic and resulting shutdown of live entertainment and sporting events. However, the historical site will officially reopen its doors to host Lil Wayne, Young Money, and “friends.”

In addition to the usual music festival features — including a Vendor Village highlighting local eateries, a beer garden, and a “3 Point Cut” basketball experience — Wayne’s fest will accept submissions for its Dance Competition and Art Walk ahead of the event. The winning dance team will earn the opportunity to perform on the big stage at next year’s Uproar Fest. The Art Walk will showcase rising visual artists.

For fans unable to attend, the festival will also live stream via a “first of its kind” Festival Platform provided by Mandolin. The stream will not only include live video of performances but also roaming audience cameras and interactive features.

Birdman And Lil Wayne Add To Their Long List Of Collaborations With ‘Stunnaman’ Featuring Roddy Ricch

Birdman and Lil Wayne were once an inseparable duo in the hip-hop world. From the early Cash Money days of the late 1990s and early 2000s to the eventual Young Money days of the early 2010s, the Louisiana rappers were side by side through it all. Things would go left from 2014 to 2018 as Wayne and Birdman engaged in a lengthy battle over the delayed release of the former’s album, Tha Carter V. While the matter was settled in court, their relationship didn’t so much return to what it once was. That could change as the pair joined forces for a new track.

The rappers re-sparked their chemistry on “Stunnaman” with Roddy Ricch. It’s the first track Birdman and Lil Wayne have worked on together since 2019’s “Ride Dat” which also featured Juvenile. Today’s new track is a boastful effort that sees each rapper laying confident verses of their own. The single also proves that Birdman and Wayne haven’t let their past differences stop them from making good music together.

As for Roddy Ricch, the track is the latest guest feature that the Compton rapper has delivered as he recently joined DJ Khaled for “Body In Motion” with Lil Baby and Bryson Tiller and 42 Dugg on “4 Da Gang.”

You can listen to the new track above.

Roddy Ricch is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Polo G And Lil Wayne’s Riches And Street Cred Are Worthy Of Top Recognition On ‘Gang Gang’

There’s no excuse to be sleeping on Polo G at this point. The Chicago proved he was here to stay last year with his impressive sophomore project, The GOAT and his success only carried into 2021. Polo G landed his first No. 1 record with “Rapstar,” a track that spent two consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100. He also revealed that his upcoming album would be titled Hall Of Fame, and before it arrives, the rapper calls on another artist that many hold to a high regard for his latest single, “Gang Gang.”

The Chicago joins forces with Lil Wayne for the new track. which finds both artists moving back and forth between sharp raps and doses of autotuned croons. Altogether. the two rappers use the song to detail their undeniable fame, flaunt their expensive cars, and prove that their street credibility is intact and far from something that can be questioned. The new effort also arrives with a video that sees Polo G treating himself and a number of women to a nice dinner before joining Lil Wayne for an energetic house party.

Aside from “Rapstar,” Polo G has done a great job building anticipation for his next album, Hall Of Fame. The other single that fans can expect to hear on the album, “GNF (OKOKOK)” was another great example of what the rapper has to offer on the project. Elsewhere, guest appearances with the likes of Rod Wave, Lil Tjay, Fivio Foreign, and more prove the Chicagoan has certainly improved his craft ahead of the release of Hall Of Fame.

You can listen to “Gang Gang” in the video.
