Lil Tjay Sticks To The Script On ‘Not In The Mood’ With Fivio Foreign And Kay Flock
The grind never stops for Lil Tjay. The New York rapper is just a few months removed from sharing his second album, Destined 2 Win, with the world. The project debuted at No. 5 on the album charts, which tied a personal record for the highest position. Destined 2 Win also gave him his highest-charting song thanks to “Calling My Phone” with 6lack. After basking in the success of the album for some time, Lil Tjay is back in action with new music and it comes in the form of his new single “Not In The Mood” featuring Fivio Foreign and Kay Flock.
The new track finds the trio of rappers pushing as hard as they can to overcome life’s obstacles. “I almost gave up every other day / We made a way,” Tjay raps on the song. “We never relate, it’s big food for the plate / It’s time to go drill, I never do dates.” The tunnel-visioned approach to consistent success is emulated by Fivio Foreign and Kay Flock, who provide verses of their own on “Not In The Mood.”
Lil Tjay drops off the new song after teaming up with Joyner Lucas for a raunchy video to their collaboration, “Untold Stories.” Prior to that, he teamed with Bas and J. Cole for “The Jackie” and appeared on G Herbo’s fourth album, 25, on a track titled “Cry No More” that also featured Polo G.

Fivio Foreign Narrates The Prison Experience In His Tragic ‘Story Time’ Video
Brooklyn drill stalwart Fivio Foreign may have eased up on his 2020 momentum earlier this year thanks to an unfortunate run-in with the police this past spring but now that he’s back out on the streets, he’s also been right back in the studio, revealing the results with the harrowing video for “Story Time,” his first new single since April’s “Self Made.”
True to its title, the “Story Time” video finds Fivio holding court as his friends huddle around him while he narrates the tragic experience of incarceration. “Let me tell a little sad story about this young boy,” he starts, before reeling off the kid’s struggles with the system and the abuses he experiences at the hands of callous agents of the state. As Fivio narrates, the scenes play out in vivid, vicious detail, following the young boy as he’s processed into the penitentiary, then forced to adapt to survive the harsh conditions.
The new single helps Fivio get back on track in the rollout to his upcoming album Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth (that spells “B.I.B.L.E.,” in case you missed it). He hasn’t revealed a release date yet, but after appearing on Lil Tjay’s “Headshot” and Hit-Boy’s “Salute,” he was positioned for plenty of attention early this year. We’ll see if his short bid took any of the wind out of his sails — and whether strong showings like “Story Time” can bring some of it back.

Toosii Steps Into The Drill Lane With Fivio Foreign For The Authoritative ‘Spin Music’
Despite rising to fame after growing up for most of his life in North Carolina, Toosii taps into his New York roots (he was born in Syracuse) to access the drill rap sound that exploded in the state thanks to names like Pop Smoke, Fivio Foreign, CJ, Rah Swish, and more on his newest single, “Spin Music” featuring Fivion Foreign.
The track arrives with a visual that opens with Toosii and Fivio surrounded by an array of dirt bikes, ATVs, and a few other flashy vehicles. Toosii heads indoors to fire off a confident verse while Fivio goes back and forth between the outdoor’s rowdiness and the company of a woman in the bedroom for his own contribution to the song.

Fivio Foreign Celebrates His Release From Jail On Gun Charges And Reveals His Plans For Summer
Brooklyn native Fivio Foreign nearly saw his upward career track derailed this spring when he was arrested for carrying an unregistered firearm after fleeing police officers in New Jersey. Fivio was taken into custody and booked at the Bergen County Jail for weapons possession, having a defaced firearm, and resisting arrest. He apparently wasn’t able to secure bond until very recently; yesterday, he tweeted simply: “Free,” with an unlocked padlock emoji.

In addition to celebrating his release, Fivio hinted at his plans for the summer now that he’s free. “Summer Jam?” he wrote, adding a pair of curious eyes and a flame emoji. If he does join the lineup of the annual New York festival in August, he’ll be joining a stacked roster that includes the also recently released Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel, Saweetie, Moneybagg Yo, Migos, Meek Mill, and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. Also, many other drill-related artists will be appearing, including Dusty Locane, Sheff G, and Sleepy Hallow.

Fivio may have to work a bit to regain his momentum this year but he’s certainly laid a solid enough foundation, with both solo tracks like “Self Made” and his guest appearance on Lil Tjay’s “Headshot” video alongside Polo G.
