LUCKI & Playboi Carti Appear To Bury The Hatchet With Vague IG Story Post

Playboi Carti took some words from LUCKI to heart a couple of weeks ago, leading to the two MCs to trade some shots. The Opium label boss had an issue with the Chicago, Illinois native buying a chain and saying, “crosses up”. He viewed that as a sneak diss toward his “ALL RED” track where he raps, “Upside-down cross tat’ on my neck, shut ’em up, uh, uh“. LUCKI attempted to clarify what he meant in a short video, saying, “Like I said from the jump, I don’t dislike you. You think, yesterday, because I bought a chain and I said, ‘crosses up,’ that I was sneak dissing you”.

He later added, “I just bought a chain and was saying, ‘crosses up.’ You just insecure because you don’t love Jesus like that”. LUCKI then shared an older picture of Carti with a t-shirt that said “I [heart] Jesus” on it. A few days later, the “Timeless” MC would subtly fire back on IG, “Should’ve signed to the O. I ain’t worried bout nobody, n****s can talk, say whatever they wanna say about me”.

Lucki Seems To Be The One Who Made The Call

Now, though, there is another vague social media post from LUCKI, although it appears to be showing signs of positivity. According to Kurrco, the GEMINI! creator posted a screenshot of a recently completed phone call with “Barti” to his second account’s IG Story. We can only assume that it was between him and Carti and that they discussed the public feud. Overall, it seems like things are all good now given that there’s a “❤” emoji over the screenshot. It is good to see that they reconciled, even if it was just a misunderstanding, ultimately.

What are your thoughts on LUCKI and Playboi Carti appearing to settle their differences? Do you think this beef was just a big misunderstanding? Could you see these two making some music together soon? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Playboi Carti Seemingly Takes Shots At Lucki In Cryptic Instagram Promo

Playboi Carti is really coming out of his shell. The rapper has spent most of his career dodging interviews and anything resembling a normal rollout. It’s been a long time since fans have even heard him say more than a few words at a time. All that changed on September 18, though. Playboi Carti uploaded a video to Instagram in which he teased his upcoming single and trash-talked another rapper. Carti fails to mention any names, but all signs point to his target being Lucki.

Playboi Carti posts up in a parking lot and seemingly rambles for a minute and a half. He mentions the title of his upcoming collab with The Weeknd, “Timeless,” but he seemed more intent on mocking his ops. “Should’ve signed to the O,” the rapper asserts. “I ain’t worried bout nobody, n****s can talk, say whatever they wanna say about me.” The “O,” is of course, a reference to Carti’s label, Opium Records. Lucki has not only had beef with Carti over the last few weeks, but with another Opium artist, Destroy Lonely, as well. Lucki and Lonely argued over a woman on Instagram Live, which eventually snowballed into a conflict with label boss Carti.

Playboi Carti Claims Not To Care What Others Think

Playboi Carti and Lucki have been engaged in a start-and-stop beef throughout September. The former thought Lucki was sneak-dissing him, which led to Lucki reaching out and clarifying his stance. The two men had a DM exchange, which Playboi Carti eventually shared on IG. “Like I said from the jump, I don’t dislike you,” Lucki explained. The rapper explained that his social media post proclaiming “crosses up” was not intended for Carti, or any of the artists on the Opium label. That said, Lucki did poke fun at the Opium boss by suggesting he was sensitive. “You just insecure because you don’t love Jesus like that,” Lucki concluded.

Playboi Carti may still be annoyed with Lucki, but he has a lot more going on than a petty squabble. The rapper is currently rolling out his first album in four years. “All Red” has been well-received by fans, even though some feel the single sounds a bit too much like Future. The rapper also confirmed that a video for the song is coming soon. It’ll be interesting to see if Carti carries the trash talk over to the album. If so, then Lucki might be catching a few strays on wax.

Destroy Lonely Takes Shots At Both Lucki And KanKan On Twitter

Destroy Lonely should be in album mode. He’s got a new release set for August 30. Instead, the rapper is in battle mode. He took issue with multiple rappers on August 22, and decided to make his issues known by calling both Lucki and KanKan out on Twitter. To be fair to Destroy Lonely, the beef was instigated by his peers. Lucki came over the top rope with some bold accusations about Lonely, so it’s difficult to find fault with a response. KanKan hitched his wagon to the Lucki train, and both men suffered as a result.

Let’s start with the Lucki accusations. The rapper went on Instagram Live and started popping off about Destroy Lonely’s personal life. He started talking reckless about Lonely’s girl, despite claiming that he did not want any trouble. “She just brought my name up,” Lucki claimed. “I didn’t even f*ck her. I didn’t even bother the girl. Your new girlfriend, too? Ask her about Lucki.” The rapper tried to diffuse his bold claims by asserting that he didn’t want beef with other rappers over girls. That said, he threw shade at Destroy Lonely again by alluding to the rapper’s record deal. Lucki said it was better to be a multi-millionaire than to be signed to a multi-millionaire, which many took as a reference to Lonely being signed to Playboi Carti.

Destroy Lonely Claims He’s Not ‘Scared’ Of Lucki

Destroy Lonely definitely felt some kind of way about Lucki’s comments. He hopped on Twitter right after the IG Story made the rounds, and made he clear that he wasn’t messing around. Boy u ain’t never seen me in no dress,” Lonely wrote. “And u damn sure ain’t never scare me.” The situation between Lucki and Destroy Lonely got even more serious when KanKan got in the mix. The rapper decided to post the Lucki Instagram Story. Lonely, unsurprisingly, didn’t appreciate it. He quote tweeted KanKan and made it clear he’s got a problem with him too. “Dont laugh n**ga u a h*e,” he wrote back. KanKan eventually deleted his tweet.

This is not the first time Lucki has seemingly dissed Destroy Lonely. Fans have long believed that the rapper dissed Lonely on his song “OUTRO” from his 2024 album Gemini. “I gave you the swag from your dad, you hope I don’t notice, but it got a tag,” Lucki raps. “He richer than me, a fact, I hit her first, so probably he mad. You makin’ your city look bad, I hit a Rolls Royce hoe in a Track.” Lonely’s father is rapper I-20, which led fans to assume that Lucki was diminishing Lonely’s achievements as an artist. There’s definitely more drama to come.

LUCKI Leaves Off Second 2-Pack, “2 Faced, Pt. 2”, Ahead Of Rumored Album

LUCKI has made a living off his signature mumbly and druggy flows over slow-mo trap rap beats. Today, the Chicago, Illinois-bred artist is delivering more of the same on his newest set of tracks. Just a few months ago, he put out a two-pack called 2 Faced back in January for his rumored album GEMIN! According to Genius, the project is supposed to be out on June 14, and it would follow up his 2023 tape s*x m*ney dr*gs. Now, fast forward to today and LUCKI has more to offer in the form of 2 Faced, Pt. 2.

This time around LUCKI is bossing up on both cuts, which are “Heavy On My Heart”, and “Courtesy Of”. On the first track, the veteran rapper is proving an ex wrong by locking and making as much bread as possible. “Really a rapper, but I’m with the wolves, ’cause I know they’ve got dreams too / We had fell out, the whole world seen it, they had told me to leave you / Went back home when I got rich, and they said I needed you“.

Then, on “Courtesy Of”, LUCKI is straight up flexing on the haters and possibly his contemporaries. “N****s first round bust down, ain’t even wanna play / I got money in a vault, I got money just to play / We’ll play you like you soft if you ain’t slimier than me“. On 2 Faced, LUCKI divulged on being a baller on “PAIDNFULL”, whereas “COLORFUL DRUGS” was more of a trippy vibe than anything else. Overall, these tracks are fine, but nothing too new.

Southside Taps LUCKI For Druggy Album Cut “Elegant”

When you think of all-time great trap producers, Southside is one of just a few to throw into that conversation. The Neptune, New Jersey native has worked with basically anyone in his field of expertise that you could imagine. Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, Gucci Mane, the list goes on. But the artist he is working with this time around is someone totally new and maybe a little unexpected. For this latest Southside single “Elegant,” the veteran is working alongside LUCKI.

“Elegant” is one of a few promotional tracks for the producer’s upcoming album. The current hope is that the project will be out sometime in June. This tape has been in the works for just over two years, with “Hold That Heat” featuring Travis and Future being the lead single and dropping in April 2022. Following that would be “Gimme Da Lite” featuring Lil Yachty, which released in December of last year. Then, before “Elegant” took the title for the most recent promo cut, “President” with Ken Carson and Destroy Lonely was our last taste of the record.

Lucki & Lil Yachty Discuss Lean Cost, Claim Young Thug Paid $5K Due To “Tax”

An increasing number of celebrities have become more comfortable in using their platforms to speak out about issues with mental health and substance abuse. On the latest episode of Lil Yachty’s A Safe Place podcast, he and co-host Mitch sat down with Lucki to talk about some of their personal vices. For his part, the “Brocolli” hitmaker shared that he’s approaching his one-year sobriety milestone. Their guest shared that he’s completely quit popping pills, though he’s having a difficult time quitting promethazine.

At one point during their chat, Yachty asked Lucki how much money he’s likely spent on lean in his career. “I don’t like thinking about that,” the Chicago native admitted. “I remember when I was coming up, ni**as used to be like, ‘I charged Young Thug $5,000. They used to take pride in waxing a rapper!” Lucki further reflected. “I just realized, three months ago, I turned into that. Ni**as take pride in taxing me, I ain’t realize it.”

Lucki Says Young Thug Has Paid Thousands for Promethazine

The 27-year-old then shared that he’s not one to “go back and forth” when a dealer names their price. However, he and Yachty expressed suspicion about price increases being manufactured by those on the inside who frequently name shortages as a reason for rising costs. “I’m really a victim out here though,” Lucki told the hosts, who looked at him and laughed. “Lemme guess, CVS is out of stock.”

Seeing as he’s still in jail awaiting the official start of his YSL RICO trial, it’s likely been some time since Young Thug has indulged in his lean habit. Of course, there are still ways to get usually forbidden objects behind bars. His girlfriend Mariah the Scientist recently shared he has an iPad he uses to play Candy Crush on the regular. Lil Yachty & Lucki Discuss Sobriety And Their Substance Abuse Struggles On “A Safe Place”

Attempting sobriety is hard enough as is, but for those who work or play in environments where substances are readily available, abstaining can feel anything but easy. Time and time again we’ve seen recording artists and entertainers fall victim to the demons of substance abuse, but thankfully, a growing number are choosing to distance themselves from alcohol and drugs. On the latest episode of A Safe Place, hosts Lil Yachty and Mitch discussed this with their guest, Lucki, who confirmed that he’s been clean from some drugs for several months now, though there are still others he’s hoping to conquer.

“I thought I’d never stop popping pills, but I stopped popping pills,” the 27-year-old reflected during their interview. “But lean, though? Pills don’t taste good, lean taste good,” Lucki added, earning a laugh from his friends. “You know I’m 10 months clean?” Yachty asked, surprising some viewers who were under the impression he’s always been sober. “That’s what I’m saying!” the Chicago native congratulated him before confirming he hasn’t popped any pills in eight months.
