Coi Leray And Lil Durk Deal With The Remnants Of A Get-Together In Their ‘No More Parties’ Video

Coi Leray’s 2021 is off to a great start and it comes as a result of her “No More Parties” track. The single was released at the end of January and quickly found success on TikTok thanks to a short video with the song playing in the background that tallied more than 42 million views in just a week. Giving it a second boost, she tapped Lil Durk for a remix of the song, which helped the record reach its peak of No. 32 on the Billboard singles chart. Nearly a month after the remix was dropped, Leray and Durk join forces for a new visual for the song.

While the motto of “no more parties” is clear to Leray, her friends failed to receive the message as they threw a wild get-together at her home while she was gone. Upon her return, she’s left to clean up the mess that was left behind. From Solo cups to unwarranted guests, Leray is tasked with removing all of the unwanted components from her home with some well-supplied help from Durk.

“No More Parties” stands as a great follow-up to her 2020 EP, Now Or Never. The six-track effort was backed by guest appearances from Gunna, Kiana Lede, Sevyn Streeter, and Fetty Wap. As for Lil Durk, the video arrives days after he appeared on The Tonight Show to perform “Still Trappin” and “Stay Down” with 6lack.

Lil Baby And Lil Durk Promote Their Promised Joint Album

Rappers are always promising joint albums — or just feeding existing rumors about them based on fan speculation — but Lil Baby and Lil Durk’s proposed collaborative tape appears to be more real than ever after both principals spent the weekend hyping its eventual release on social media. While Lil Durk tweeted about the album and posted on Instagram, Lil Baby was busy avoiding Twitter, so he instead shared his thoughts via Instagram Story.

“Aye y’all tell @lilbaby4PF let’s drop that tape,” Durk tweeted. “Streets need this.” He followed up with a post on Instagram promising fans that the two rappers would drop the tape provided the post received 100,000 comments.

Meanwhile, Lil Baby first shared a screenshot of a fan account’s post to his Story, adding the text, “Aye y’all, tell @LilDurk let’s drop the tape.” Then, after Durk posted about it on Instagram, Baby shared the post to his Story, wondering, “Bra, why the hell you playing?”

The clamor for their crossover has reached a fever pitch mainly because the duo’s last collaboration, “Finesse Out The Gang Way,” was well-received by fans of both artists. The newly resurgent Durk has been on a roll for the past two years, just as Lil Baby emerged as a force himself. As both rappers climb into the upper tier of rap stardom, it’s only natural that fans would want to see them work together — especially considering their chemistry on tracks like “Finesse” and “3 Headed Goat.” Plus, Baby has proven he can bring the best out of a collaborator on 2018’s Drip Harder with Gunna, so giving Durk the same foil may result in some spectacular contemporary rap.

Will they actually drop a full project? Who knows, but maybe Durk can give Baby some pointers on his jump shot after Saturday’s disastrous showing at the B/R Open Run two-on-two game with Jack Harlow and Quavo.

Lil Durk Performs A ‘Stay Down/Still Trappin’ Medley With Help From 6lack On ‘The Tonight Show’

There’s something to be said for the hot streak Lil Durk is currently working on right now. It dates back to his May 2020 album, Just Cause Y’all Waited 2 and thanks to his succeeding releases, the Chicago rapper recently earned a chance to perform on a recent episode of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. On his appearance, he performed a medley of “Stay Down” and “Still Trappin,” which can both be found on the deluxe release of The Voice.

Beginning with “Stay Down,” Durk delivers his verse on the song before 6lack steps on stage to sing the song’s hook as well as his verse. Once he finishes, Durk returns to centerstage and transitions into a performance of “Still Trappin.” The song features a guest verse from King Von, recorded before he was tragically killed in an Atlanta shooting back in November. Continuing to honor the rapper who he referred to as his “twin,” Durk performed the song and let Von’s verse play.

The performance after Durk released his Loyal Bros compilation with his Only The Family crew. The 23-track effort includes features from Tee Grizzley, EST Gee, Foogiano, Booka600, Memo600, and others. It also comes after he joined Coi Leray for a “No More Parties” remix and hinted at a possible joint album with Lil Baby.

All The Best New Music From This Week That You Need To Hear

Keeping up with new music can be exhausting, even impossible. From the weekly album releases to standalone singles dropping on a daily basis, the amount of music is so vast it’s easy for something to slip through the cracks. Even following along with the Uproxx recommendations on a daily basis can be a lot to ask, so every Monday we’re offering up this rundown of the best new music this week.

This week saw a Taylor Swift/Haim reunion and Ariana Grande expanding her latest beloved album. Yeah, it was a great week for new music. Check out the highlights below.

Haim — “Gasoline” Feat. Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift and Haim have a healthy professional relationship, which they extended last week with a Swift-featuring version of “Gasoline.” The collaboration was enough for Swift to proclaim herself the fourth Haim sister, so she has apparently snatched the title from Bernie Sanders.

Ariana Grande — Positions (Deluxe)

Deluxe editions of albums took on a new level of prominence in 2020 and Grande is keeping that going in 2021 with an expanded release of her own. Grande’s new deluxe version of Positions adds five new tracks, including her star-studded remix of “34+35” that features Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion.

Wild Pink — A Billion Little Lights

The band’s John Ross recently spoke with Uproxx about his new album, saying of the just-released effort, “I wanted to have something very lush and just bigger than anything that I’d done before. And I got to play with amazing players, that was my favorite part.”

The Hold Steady — Open Door Policy

The veteran indie rockers recently sat down with Uproxx to review all of their albums, and Craig Finn told us of his band’s latest, “I’m super excited about it, but I’ve struggled to tell people what’s different about it. I think there’s been a continuation of figuring out this six-piece line-up and where everything goes and I think that that’s a huge part of the story. It’s allowed us to be more expansive musically than maybe we have in the past. There’s maybe a little bit more of headphone moments. There’s this weird scraping of guitars, some weird little noises that brought something we haven’t done before.”

Another Michael — New Music And Big Pop

Another Michael’s Nick Sebastiano recently told Uproxx of the band’s free-wheeling new album, “I look back upon it as one work that’s like a big pizza: One song was like the cheese, another song was like the bread. And then we only saw it as that for a while.”

Kaytranada — “Caution”

Kaytranada and TikTok linked up to celebrate Black History Month with the groovy new single “Caution.” Elsewhere this month, TikTok is also set to drop a cover of 1971 gospel song “Like A Ship” by Leon Bridges, as well as a live concert featuring Saweetie, Snoop Dogg, and Tyga.

Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats — “So.Incredible (Robert Glasper Version)” Feat. Smino

Curry and Beats highlighted 2020 with their collaborative project Unlocked, and now they’re getting ready to expand upon that effort for 2021. This year will bring a reworked version of the album titled Unlocked 1.5, which they previewed with a new version of “So.Incredible” with Smino and Robert Glasper.

CJ — Loyalty Over Royalty

Staten Island rapper CJ got a major taste of music industry success recently when his single “Whoopty” managed to crack the top ten of the Hot 100 chart. Now he’s dropped his debut project and he builds on his momentum by going at it totally feature-free save for a guest spot from French Montana.

Conan Gray — “Overdrive”

After a breakout 2020, Conan Gray has re-emerged in 2021 with “Overdrive.” Uproxx’s Caitlin White described the track well, calling it “classic, blockbuster pop with huge guitar riffs, soaring vocals, and the kind of chorus that makes you want to roll the windows down and scream it out into the night.”

Coi Leray — “No More Parties” Feat. Lil Durk

Lil Durk’s latest guest spot is on Coi Leray’s “No More Parties,” which mirrors the similarly titled Kanye West track. This is just the latest collaboration for Durk, as he and Kehlani had a song together earlier this month and he may be working on a full album with Lil Baby.

Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
