Drake Revealed He Got His Tooth Diamond Changed Because He Was Fed Up With A Common Confusion It Caused

Drake wound up watching a clip from comedian Mo Gilligan on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he discussed meeting the Toronto rapper at the Wireless Festival in London. While there, Gilligan recounted the fact that things got a little awkward.

“My friend, Javan, was like, ‘Drake, you’ve got something in your tooth, a little red thing in your tooth,’” Gilligan explained. “And Drake’s like, ‘Is it gone?’”

“I’m looking at [Javan] like, ‘Bruv, you’re really messing up this interaction right now! And then Drake’s like, ‘Is it a pepper?’” he continued. “This is how I knew this was Drake. He goes, ‘Oh yeah, that’s my diamond. I got a diamond in my tooth.’”

After Drake saw the clip on social media, he pointed out that it wasn’t the first time he’s been mistaken for someone with food in their teeth.

“I actually got that diamond changed after this interaction cause this was the 10th time someone said it was food,” he commented on an Instagram post.

Drake has been open about having a pink diamond in his tooth, including after one fan remarked back in 2018 about how even with all his money, “your teeth don’t look clean.” He fired back about how he brushes his teeth with “activated charcoal” before heading to the club.

It seems Drake learned his lesson about only keeping his diamonds in jewelry pieces — and not in his teeth.

Chloe Bailey Photo Dump Has Singer “Sweet As Honey”

Chloe Bailey has dropped a radiant new photo dump, posting up in a gorgeous cinnamon jumpsuit and large white coat. The photos were taken outside Bailey’s dressing room as she prepared to appear on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. Fans were blown away by the new pictures. “It’s giving Mary J. Blige,” one adoring fan declared. Others compared Bailey to Beyonce’s iconic Living Dangerously photos.

Of course, less than a week ago, Bailey was flashing a lot more skin. She posted up on Instagram in a floral-print bikini as she declared that “life is good” while beachside in an unknown location. However, the photos drew a lot of comparison to her sister Halle who recently gave birth to her first child with long-time partner DDG. But fans were also quick to thirst over the singer and actress for her swimwear look.

Of course, Bailey is no stranger to iconic looks. Bailey stole hearts like a master thief as she dropped her Catwoman look for Halloween. A tight leather corset (with some bat-like embellishments) and thigh-high leather boots showed off Bailey’s bountiful curves and embraced everything we love about Selina Kyle. In the comments of Bailey’s Instagram post showing off the outfit, many people likened her to the somewhat infamous portrayal of the character by Halle Berry in 2004’s Catwoman. However, the white stitching on Bailey’s legs is also very reminiscent of Michelle Pfeiffer’s take on the character in the 90s.

However, as much as the costume has people dying to see Bailey adopt the feline mantle on screen, that might remain a dream for now. Zoe Kravitz currently holds the title of Catwoman, having brought the role to life in The Batman. Furthermore, Kravtiz is expected to reprise the role in the sequel that is in the works by director Matt Reeves. Despite this, maybe the internet can get its wish. Bailey could take on the role in James Gunn’s new DC universe.

The Best Live Music Performances On TV From The Past Week

The best musical performances from the past week of late-night TV include sets from Offset, Davido, The National, and more. Uproxx has the rundown below so you can catch up or relive your favorites. Here are the best live music performances on TV from the past week.

Offset & Don Toliver:

Fresh from the release of his second solo album, Set It Off, Offset stopped by 30 Rock to deliver a grooving performance of his song “Worth It” alongside Don Toliver on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. With the stage reflecting a summery beach setting in contrast to the actual weather outside, the set was much more appropriate for the upbeat single, which samples Busta Rhymes’ “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See.”

Davido:

Speaking of summery songs, there is perhaps no genre as full of them as Afrobeats. One of that genre’s biggest stars, Davido, also hit the Tonight Show stage for an exuberant performance, playing a medley of his songs “Feel” and “Unavailable,” flanked by a pair of joyous dancers and backed by a lustrous, brassy band.

The National:

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert is known for bringing in not just high-profile talent, but also some of the headiest. The National offered a prime example of this tendency with a moody performance of their song “Space Invader” from Laugh Track.

Alec Benjamin:

Rising star Alec Benjamin dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! for a soulful performance of “Different Kind Of Beautiful.” The introspective track was complemented by setting the stage as a cozy bedroom, complete with a record player, reading lamp, and even a laptop open to Pro Tools.

Offset & Don Toliver Showed That They’re ‘Worth It’ With A Scorching Performance On ‘Fallon’

There are plenty of things “Say My Grace” rapper Offset has to be thankful for, including his beautiful children, wife and fellow entertainer Cardi B, and his hot career. To show his gratitude for his fans’ unwavering support of his latest album, Set It Off, Offset took a trip down to the studios of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.

While there, he was sure to bring friend and collaborator Don Toliver to deliver a scorching performance of their track “Worth It.” Toliver and Offset are known for their smooth dance moves, so neither is held back as they work the performance space. To bring some warmth to the otherwise cold New York City Thanksgiving Day holiday (November 23), the pair used a tropical background to warm up the chilly ambiance.

Last month, during an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Offset revealed that in order to push himself out of his creative slump with his album, he thought back on the support he had from his late Migos member, Takeoff.

“Even on my own journey, I still feel his presence and his energy like, bro, ‘We got to go hard. We got to win. We got to win. This ain’t the end of it. We got to win.’ So that’s another thing that pushed me through is my boy, Take[off], man. He didn’t care that he didn’t care about the numbers, nothing. He like, ‘Bro, y’all’s sh*t hard.’ He’s just very supportive in that. I just keep that in the back of my mind and just keep pushing,” said Offset.

Meek Mill & Rick Ross’ ‘Fallon’ Performance Of Their Song ‘Shaq & Kobe’ Was An All-Star Showing

Yesterday (November 10), Meek Mill and Rick Ross’ joint album, Too Good To Be True, hit streaming services. To celebrate the milestone, both rappers gave an all-star performance of the project’s lead single, “Shaq & Kobe,” on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.

As veterans in hip-hop and longstanding collaborators, Meek and Ross’ high-energy set wasn’t just limited to their latest body of work. The duo decided to surprise viewers with a performance of Meek’s 2012 “Ima Boss,” featuring Ross.

Ross shared what led to their collaborative album during an appearance on The Morning Hustle. “This was the right time,” he replied. “We’re both solo artists and both doing our thing. I’m building MMG, and he’s building Dream Chasers [Records]. I felt like this was the right time. You know what I mean, it just came together. So we spent a little time together and got into the studio. Sh*t just came together too easily; it just flowed,” said Ross.

Here Are The Best Live Music Performances On TV From The Past Week

Throughout the past week, some of the biggest artists have taken over various television shows to deliver incredible performances. Some of those might have been missed in the day-to-day shuffle, so continue scrolling for a roundup of some of this week’s best.

Ice Spice

Over the weekend, Ice Spice appeared as the musical guest for Saturday Night Live‘s return episode. Not only was Pete Davidson the host, but she was also introduced by none other than her “Karma” collaborator, Taylor Swift. The Bronx rapper went on to perform “In Ha Mood” and her latest single, “Pretty Girl,” with Rema.

Kelly Clarkson

Although Kelly Clarkson has her own show, that doesn’t stop her from popping up on other ones. She dropped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to deliver a mesmerizing “Lighthouse” performance, from her recent album, Chemistry.

Raye

Raye was also among The Tonight Show musical guests this past week, as she had to cancel a concert to take the opportunity. Her debut album, My 21st Century Blues, dropped earlier this year, and she played a mashup of her hit, “Escapism,” and “Worth It.”

Wilco

Over at Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Wilco dropped by to play “Evicted,” bringing the chill, psychedelic vibes to the excited crowd. The track is featured on the band’s new album, Cousin.

Måneskin

Måneskin honored the upcoming deluxe version of their album, Rush!, by also joining Jimmy Kimmel’s musical lineup this past week. They played one of the additions, “Honey (Are U Coming).”

Metric

Moving over to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Metric performed “Just The Once” from their forthcoming Formentera II album.

Lovejoy

Lovejoy’s “Call Me What You Like” rendition aired on The Late Show this past week. While the video wasn’t live, as it was filmed in Poland earlier this year, it still gives new viewers an introduction to the band — as they rock out under blue lighting.

Here Are The Musical Guests For ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ This Week

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is back on the air this week after the WGA received a fair agreement following a months-long writers strike. However, since the Screen Actors Guild is still on strike, actors can appear as guests but cannot promote their projects.

Because of this, the late-night shows are also bringing on some fun musical guests to entertain the audience. Here’s who’s been scheduled so far for this week.

John Mayer — Monday, October 2

John Mayer appeared as Jimmy Fallon’s musical guest for the show’s return on Monday. He followed Matthew McConaughey on the night’s lineup, and Fallon had some jokes about it. “And Matthew McConaughey will sing too,” he said. “I haven’t asked him yet, but… Matthew will you?”

Jelly Roll — Tuesday, October 3

Tonight, Jelly Roll is the musical guest. For those not familiar, he is a country musician and rapper on the rise. He took home three CMT Awards earlier this year and just dropped a new album, Whitsitt Chapel, in June.

Carly Pearce — Wednesday, October 4

The Tonight Show will keep the country vibes going on Wednesday with Carly Pearce as the performer. The Grammy Award winner is also a member of the Grand Old Opry as of 2021.

Maluma — Thursday, October 5

While there currently aren’t any actors scheduled to appear on the Thursday episode, according to TV Guide, Maluma will be there to bring the energy. His latest album is this summer’s Don Juan.

Killer Mike feat. Robert Glasper and Eryn Allen Kane — Friday, October 6

Finally, to close out the week, Killer Mike will be joined by special guests including the Grammy-winning jazz musician Robert Glasper and Eryn Allen Kane for a not-to-miss performance.

Jimmy Fallon Apologizes To Staff After Rolling Stone Article

Jimmy Fallon has reportedly apologized to staff members on The Tonight Show following the publication of a Rolling Stone article alleging the fostering of a toxic workplace at the long-running late-night show. “It’s embarrassing and I feel so bad. Sorry if I embarrassed you and your family and friends… I feel so bad I can’t even tell you. [I didn’t intend to] create that type of atmosphere for the show. I want the show to be fun, [it] should be inclusive to everybody. It should be the best show,” Fallon reportedly told staff members over Zoom.

The apology comes after Rolling Stone published the testimony of 14 current and former staff members. “It was like, if Jimmy is in a bad mood, everyone’s day is fucked. It was very much like, focus on whatever it is that you have to do because Jimmy’s in a bad mood, and if he sees that, he might fly off,” one former staffer claimed. Others alleged that Fallon would often perform erratically, leading many to suspect that he had a drinking problem and was taping shows drunk. NBC and Fallon did not respond to requests for follow-ups from multiple outlets.

Long History Of Toxicity Alleged Against Fallon

“Nobody told Jimmy, ‘No.’ Everybody walked on eggshells, especially showrunners,” a former employee told the magazine. “You never knew which Jimmy we were going to get and when he was going to throw a hissy fit. Look how many showrunners went so quickly. We know they didn’t last long.” Another former staffer recalled a moment from 2017. “He couldn’t remember he had just crossed it [a joke] out himself,” the employee says. “I was like, ‘Oh, my God, he [seems] drunk. He doesn’t know what he’s doing. This could be awful — this could be the end of the show right here.’”

“Seven former employees say their mental health was impacted by their alleged experiences working at The Tonight Show. These staffers say it was commonplace to hear people joking about “wanting to kill themselves,” and that they would refer to guests’ dressing rooms in the office as “crying rooms” because that’s where they would go to let out their emotions when they were upset with their alleged mistreatment,” the article also notes. “Mentally, I was in the lowest place of my life. I didn’t want to live anymore, I thought about taking my own life all the time,” one former employee says. “I knew deep down I would never actually do it, but in my head, I’m like, ‘Why do I think about this all the time?’”

Questlove Shared When He Realized The Roots Were ‘Not Friends’ Anymore And How Jimmy Fallon Fixed It

Conan O’Brien gets the most out of his guests on the Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend podcast. He bonded with Japanese Breakfast over her Coachella set. Chris Martin explained why Bruce Springsteen is to blame for his decision to stop eat dinner. Billie Eilish shared “heartbreaking” advice she once received from her idol-turned-friend Justin Bieber. And now, Questlove has spilled some tea about The Roots.

Questlove was O’Brien’s guest for the September 4 episode of the podcast, and their hour-plus conversation included insight into how Jimmy Fallon helped piece The Roots back together again.

Questlove explained that personal and professional responsibilities were stretching The Roots thin around 2009, so they wished “a Celine Dion situation would happen,” meaning a stable residency. Their version of that was joining up with Fallon, first on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and then as the in-house band on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which he said “is what we needed to actually bond and be friends again.”

The Grammy and Oscar winner then shared a story involving the Red Hot Chili Peppers around 2006 that had previously made him realize that he was no longer friends with his longtime bandmates

“We’re on tour with the Chili Peppers, and it’s a European tour. And they’re playing, like, soccer — I’m sorry, post-[Ted] Lasso, football stadiums,” he said. “You know, it’s like 80,000 to 120,000 [people] a night. Every three to four songs, those guys get into sort of a football magic circle huddle. By the fourth time they do this, I’m thinking like, ‘Oh, they’re gonna call an audible and change up the setlist.’ And then, I had the setlist in my hand, I’m like, Wait, they didn’t change anything. … Why do they keep having these little meetings every five songs, and nothin’ changes from what I know the show to be?

He continued, “I see Flea in catering, and I’m like, ‘Dude, what are you guys talking about when you go into that huddle?’ And Flea is like, ‘Yo, man, it’s like, I don’t know, man. We’re just so full of gratitude.’”

While Questlove was initially “dismissive” of Flea’s reasoning, his manager put it into perspective: The Red Hot Chili Peppers “actually” liked each other, and The Roots has unknowingly transitioned from being friends to “just business partners” around 2006 or ’07.

“I realized, Ah, sh*t. We’re really not friends. We’re just nine strangers that just play the same songs every night, and that’s it,” Questlove said. “What wound up happening at Fallon is Jimmy has a way of disarming you. At least for the first six years, we were 13-year-olds in adults’ bodies, we could do silly things and not feel like we’re gonna lose our street cred because we’re doing silly sh*t.”

At one point, Questlove said, Fallon “talked The Roots into an eight-man human pyramid,” which perfectly illustrated how crucial Fallon would be to reconnecting them with each other and their individual humanity.

Lil Uzi Vert Danced Through A Late-Night Performance Of ‘Just Wanna Rock’

Has Lil Uzi Vert‘s insistent Jersey Club-influenced hit “Just Wanna Rock” peaked yet? It seems doubtful, but it has reached the point in its arc when they’re performing it live for late-night audiences. I wonder what the average Tonight Show viewer thought when they turned on their televisions last night to be confronted by the image of the tatted-up, mohawked, piercing-dotted visage of the pint-sized Philly MC bobbing and bouncing across the screen with a small fleet of punk-garbed dancers. Probably something about millennials.

But hey, maybe they enjoyed it. After all, Uzi’s new hit has that unbridled, chaotic energy that makes it almost undeniably one of the most fun products of the post-pandemic era. Uzi barely raps on the song, letting the persistent kick drums do most of the heavy lifting, punctuated periodically by their piercing, filtered “Daaaaaaaaamns.” The whole song is like one extended dance breakdown; knowing this, Uzi brings the energy, doing as much movement as the backup dancers that crowd the stages during performances of the track.

So maybe “Just Wanna Rock” has as much of a chance to play as well for the older late-night demographic as it did for the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice crowd. And if not, too bad. Something tells me that we’re going to be hearing this song for a long time.
