Mariah The Scientist Tweets About Her Longing For Young Thug

In a turn of events, Mariah the Scientist recently took to Twitter to express her frustration with Young Thug still being in jail. The singer, whose real name is Mariah Buckles, tweeted about her heartache in a now-deleted post. She revealed how she currently feels left behind while her beau is locked up, and the long distance seems to be taking a bit of a mental toll. With her number-one supporter no longer by her side, it’s likely the musician is feeling a bit lonely.

Young Thug, whose real name is Jefferey Lamar Williams, has been in jail since May 2022. The rapper was arrested for his alleged ties to the notorious YSL gang. He is also facing another charge for an incident that occurred in May 2021. The artist was allegedly involved in a street racing episode where he was accused of driving over the speed limit without wearing a seatbelt. His trial began in January 2023. The distance has been hard on the couple, who are very attached to each other.

Mariah The Scientist Shows Brief Frustration With Her Boyfriend

Shortly after sending out her message about Thugger being in jail, Mariah the Scientist deleted it. Still, her Twitter page remains full of tweets alluding to her declining mood. She specifically expresses that she does not feel understood by the world. This is not the first time she has made tweets about Young Thug’s incarceration, however. Earlier in the year Mariah tweeted her desire for her lover to come home quickly. She has been supportive of her partner every step of the way.

Even behind bars, the So Much Fun hitmaker has not let his circumstances stop him from reciprocating his other half’s love and support. The rapper has sent balloons and even rose-petal messages to his lady. These gestures of love seem to help ease the pain that Mariah the Scientist is going through. The couple has been publicly together since 2022, and have been very vocal about their love for each other on social media. Check back in to see if Mariah will continue to tweet about Young Thug.

Lil Yachty & Mariah The Scientist Beef Over Dating Rumours

Like many others in the music industry, Mariah the Scientist didn’t always plan on becoming a singer. She came onto the scene with a bang in 2019, sharing her MASTER project including popular titles like “Beetlejuice,” “Reminders,” and “Note to Self.” In the years since, she’s given us 2021’s RY RY WORLD featuring Young Thug and Lil Baby, as well as last year’s Buckles Laboratories Presents: The Intermission four-pack EP.

Before she became known as Young Thug’s current love interest, and an R&B starlet in her own right, Mariah was a student at St. John’s University in New York. She was previously accepted at the school on a biology scholarship, hence her stage name, but ultimately dropped out to pursue a career in music. Before she was involved with the YSL head, the “Church” songstress was rumoured to be with Lil Yachty, who some think is the real reason she walked away from her post-secondary education.

Mariah’s Life Before Music

As XXL reports, earlier this weekend a tweet that brought attention back to the rumoured pair’s years-old drama appeared online. “How do you go to school to be an anesthesiologist and [end] up flunking out [because] of Lil Yachty?” the account holder asked, earning thousands of likes. In a series of since-deleted posts of his own, the “Broccoli” hitmaker spoke out on the situation. “Lol why do y’all keep trying me over this woman?” he asked. “I been [quiet] for so long but [please] stop making up this weird ass false narrative.”

He went on to call out the Scientist for staying silent as well, writing, “and the fact Mariah just let all these lies go on is weird to me. Y’all really be on d*ck about shit y’all [know] nothing about… Go touch grass.” Of course, the drama didn’t stop there. When another internet troll suggested that Yachty got a friend of the 25-year-old’s pregnant, he shut down that gossip too. “This is also just not true. Lmao, they were never friends… EVER, never met. Rarely had a full conversation. They just followed each other… [YOU] N*GGAS [ARE] WEIRD!!!!!!!!!!!”

Lil Yachty Clears His Name, The Scientist Responds

Further clearing his name in another tweet, the “Poland” artist added, “and me and Mariah wasn’t dating at the time… Again!!!!!! Only time I’ma say this. Leave me out of it,” his rant concluded. When Yachty finished speaking his truth, it was the Scientist’s turn to enter the chat. “I know a n*gga ain’t having [something to] say ’bout [something] I don’t ever speak on,” she wrote on the same app. “Miles [you] got to be dizzy, I will air [you] out on this bitch,” her since-removed response read. See it all for yourself above, and check back later for more hip-hop news updates.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Taps Mariah The Scientist For “Secrets” Remix

New music is coming in hot on this good Friday. The latest release comes from Highbridge’s own A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, who teams up with Mariah The Scientist for the remix to his throwback “Secrets.” The track comes to the surprise of some, seeing he’s released not one, but two projects since the original was featured on 2020’s Artist 2.0’s deluxe version. Not for TikTok users, however, as they are responsible for it’s resurgence. According to stats on the ever-popular clock app, the song has been used over 24,000 times as of writing.

The Bronx rapper has even gone on to upload a live performance of the track a couple of days ago. One commenter wrote “So glad that this song is finally getting the love it deserves. Nonetheless, it’s safe to say the new version does not disappoint. On the “Secrets” remix, A Boogie recites the same verse chorus as its predecessor, boasting about his success and the groupies that come with it. The first track didn’t have a second verse, which is where Mariah The Scientist comes in. Young Thug’s rumored boo slides in after the second chorus with some salacious bars of her own.

TikTok Users May Be To Thank For The A Boogie With The Hoodie Remix

The “Bout Mine” vocalist makes the rules clear to her fling on the “Secrets” remake. She implies she’s ready to get down and dirty, but he must keep his mouth closed. Mariah The Scientist sings “Meet me in the back, take me through the alley / Know you want a bad girl, know you want a savage / Know that I can be that, you can’t believe that /You could be a blind man, even you could see that.” Some A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie fans aren’t fond of the R&B singer’s addition, but she seems to be taking it with grace. Mariah The Scientist—who is no stranger to backlash—has shown support for the song throughout the day on her Instagram Stories.

Quotable Lyrics

Baby, from my observations
You think I’m your lady, all of those expectations
But that just ain’t the way it goes
And I just want you out them clothes tonight
I promise to take it slow
You can even take control this time
If you can keep your mouth closed

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Recruited Mariah The Scientist To Make His 2020 Track ‘Secrets’ Even Steamier

In December, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie dropped his new album Me Vs. Myself featuring Roddy Ricch, Lil Durk, and Tory Lanez, after postponing its release to not compete with Drake and 21 Savage’s Her Loss. Now, he’s back with even more material.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie just shared a new version of “Secrets” featuring Mariah the Scientist. The track comes from his 2020 LP Artist 2.0. Her vocals are a gorgeous addition to an already great song, adding another layer of sensuality: “Meet me in the back, take me through the alley / Know you want a bad girl, know you want a savage,” she sings.

For some reason (likely due to a mistake), A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie uploaded one YouTube video in which the audio for the song was missing. The comments are overflowing with jokes that end with fire emojis. One user wrote, “This Song Is Really A Secret.” Another wrote, “Greatest song I never heard.” One quipped, “This is a certified mute classic.” Luckily, there’s another posting of the video with audio.

Listen to the new version of “Secrets” above.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

No one had a more impactful year than Future. The hip-hop icon’s “I Never Liked You” album was the highest-selling album in 2022. Future is the only artist to chart a song every week in 2022. On the personal side, his non-profit foundation, Freewishes, was recognized as one of the country’s leading philanthropic organizations servicing the youth, senior citizen community, and families in need. Indeed, there has been a lot to celebrate for the legendary artist and his Freebandz label and team.

The “One Big Party Tour” transformed into an opportunity for Future to connect with his fans on a personal level. Still, he was taken aback by all the love and support from his fanbase. The shows sold out, and the fans showed out.

“The One Big Party Tour has been life-changing,” said Future.  “It helps me connect with my fans in ways that are unimaginable. Mariah The Scientist Faces Backlash Over Old Tweets Defending Tory Lanez

Fans are not happy with Mariah The Scientist after some of the star’s old tweets resurfaced. The tweets show the singer defending Tory Lanez against Megan Thee Stallion to artist Kaash Paige. Back in 2020, Kaash tweeted that she worked with Tory and he “for sure doesn’t respect women.”

However, Mariah insisted that she still works with Tory despite the claims. “Well I have worked with and still do with Tory for years now and he’s never disrespected me. A woman. In fact, I feel like u gotta hidden agenda by speaking on a situation that don’t got sh** to do wit u.”

Fans immediately found Mariah’s old tweets after news surfaced that Tory was found guilty in his assault trial against Megan Thee Stallion. One fan tweeted, “How tf you call yourself a scientist if you can’t use science-based evidence to create opinions.”

Another fan chimed in, “Mariah the scientist was defending tory lanez and making posts about him in support. Yeah time for her to go from playlists.” The Beetlejuice singer has yet to respond to the backlash. However, she did call the Neighborhood Talk blog recently for posting bad videos of her. “Y’all never post any videos of me sounding good, y’all pick the 3 worst videos from an entire tour and post those hoping that I will be ridiculed for it.”

The 25 year old was also involved in a Twitter spat against her alleged beau Young Thug and his former girlfriend Jerrika Karlae. One commenter claimed that Mariah was the other woman in Thugs relationship with Karlae. But she wasted no time setting the record straight. “What do y’all be talking about?? When I met thug I was less popular than his ex… She always been attractive/ aesthetically pleasing. Why u trying to equating moving on to fronting on somebody? Sick in the head.”

Mariah The Scientist’s New Single Finds Her Celebrating “Christmas In Toronto”

Christmas has come and gone for another year, but festive cheer is still running rampant. At this time of year, new music can be hard to come by. Luckily, there’s still a handful of artists willing to work through the holiday season. Among those helping to close out 2022 is Mariah the Scientist, whose voice radiates on her new single.

“Christmas In Toronto” initially landed on December 24th, marking the perfect present from the R&B songstress to her fans on the special occasion.

“We spend Christmas in Toronto, woke to the most handsome face / Made memories no Audemars baguette cannot replace,” she reminisces on the chorus. “And it was sweet release, the most bitter taste / Met your mother, she has the sweetest embrace.”

However, not all of her lyrics are as heartwarming. “But wouldn’t it be nice if I could put my feelings aside? Wouldn’t it be nice if I hadn’t let you eat me alive?” she ponders on the song’s second verse.

Mariah’s new single follows a stream of successful releases shared throughout 2022. “Bout Mine” came at the end of October, and has since earned upwards of 1.3M streams on Spotify alone. Prior to that, the Atlanta native joined Dess Dior for a “Stone Cold” track.

Elsewhere in the news, The Scientist has been showing plenty of love to her beau, Young Thug, whose RICO trial will begin in the new year. Over the past few weeks, several YSL rappers have taken plea deals, though the “Day Before” artist wasn’t offered freedom like his friends.

Stream Mariah the Scientist’s “Christmas In Toronto” on Spotify or Apple Music below. Afterwards, find more hip-hop holiday anthems on our annual playlist update here.
