Rae Sremmurd Teases ‘Sremm4Life,’ Their Upcoming Fourth Album: ‘Bout To Get A Dose Of This Sremmy’

It’s been quite a while since Rae Sremmurd gave the world a full body of work. To find that, you’d have to go back to 2018 when the rap duo composed of Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi released their third album SR3MM. The project arrived as a triple-disc with one side being a 9-track Rae Sremmurd release, and the remaining two discs being 9-track solo efforts from Swae and Slim. The rappers have shared some tidbits about their fourth album over the years, but music has yet to arrive from it. All of that could change soon as they teased the project once again from their social media accounts.

The rap duo posted an image of the number four of fire to the Rae Sremmurd Twitter page with the caption, “SREMM4LIFE.” In a second tweet that Swae Lee shared from his personal account, he added, “Bout to get a dose of this Sremmy.” Slim Jxmmi also chimed in with his own tweet, writing, “Time for that 4 foe four for phor.” All of the aforementioned posts seemingly confirm that new music from the project should arrive much sooner than later.

In an interview with Essence back in 2019, Rae Sremmurd seemingly confirmed that their upcoming fourth album would be set up like 2018’s SR3MM. For what it’s worth, that interview was more than three years ago, so it remains to be seen if that is still the plan for the duo.

Slim Jxmmi is clear from battery charges. TMZ reported Wednesday that the “Black Beatles” rapper’s battery case was dropped after his girlfriend, Kiara, recanted her story.

According to police, Kiara walked back on her allegations and would no longer cooperate with authorities. As a result, prosecutors in Florida say they don’t have a good faith basis to file any battery charges against the 30-year-old rapper.

Slim Jxmmi Of Rae Sremmurd Was Arrested For Battery In Miami

Mississippi rapper Slim Jxmmi of Rae Sremmurd was arrested for battery in Miami this morning according to TMZ, which reports that Jxmmi is accused of attacking his girlfriend, with whom he has a child, and pulling out her hair extensions. The altercation began when the woman confronted the rapper about a woman he was following on Instagram.

After the argument, the report says, Jxmmi and a friend left the residence, and when he returned, he was apparently drunk. According to police, the alleged victim tried to move their child from a playpen to a bed, Jxmmi yanked one of the braids out of her scalp when he pulled her hair. When she pulled out her phone to record him, he took it and threw it over a balcony after a chase through the home in which he allegedly kicked down a door. Police say they recovered the phone from the street.

However, Jxmmi’s girlfriend later denied the report according to TMZ, writing, “Oh wow. This is cap. Dade County y’all are wrong for this. I told you guys he did not hit me. Every officer you guys had in my face are wrong for this. No hands were put on anybody, I stated it more than once. It was a loud argument and the police were called. You guys turn nothing into something. It’s our son’s first birthday tomorrow, what’s wrong with y’all?”

While Rae Sremmurd hasn’t been as active as a duo as they were when they first exploded into stardom with “No Flex Zone,” they had teased a comeback with Sremmlife 4 in late 2020, and guest-starred on Lil Dicky’s FX show Dave. Meanwhile, the duo’s other member, Jxmmi’s brother Swae Lee, has been active as a solo artist, featuring on projects from Alicia Keys, the Madden NFL video game franchise, and the soundtrack to Marvel’s Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings alongside Jhene Aiko.

Miley Cyrus Might’ve Gone Rock, But She’s Back In The Studio With Mike Will Made And Rae Sremmurd

You’ve got to hand it to Miley Cyrus — nobody does a come back quite like her. When she pivoted to rock in 2020 with Plastic Hearts, it was about as epic a return as any artist has made, and these days, fans are clamoring for more. After her impressive NYE performance and hosting gig with Pete Davidson — where she soldiered through a major wardrobe malfunction — Miley has been working on new music. Likely the first item on her list is recording a studio version of “You,” a song she performed live on New Year’s Eve that her listeners have been clamoring for a recorded version of ever since.

And even though she might be in her rock phase now, that doesn’t mean Miley has abandoned her interest in hip-hop. It seemed she did, a few years ago, when she decided to throw the entire genre under the bus, but now she’s definitely back in the mix. She posted a series of photos on Instagram today with her Bangerz collaborator, Mike Will Made It, and his proteges, Rae Sremmurd. Also pictured? Tobias Jesso Jr. and Bibi Bourelly. This new record is definitely going to be interesting! Keep your ears out for new music coming soon.
