Rae Sremmurd’s ‘Sremm4Life’: Everything To Know Including The Release Date And Tracklist

After a year-long wait, hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd, comprised of Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi, have released their high-anticipated album Sremm4Life. During an interview with GQ, the pair shared that the album would “show a more evolved side of them.” According to Jxmmi, “We’ve got to give them something new, man. As an artist, it’s hard to be yourself, and I feel like with this album, it was like we’re not following a trend.”

With the tracks “Community D*ck,” featuring Flo Milli, “Denial,” and “Sucka Or Sum” being dropped as loosies, fans were looking forward to what else the group had in store. Well, Sremm4Life is officially available across streaming platforms, and here’s everything you need to know about the project.

Features

The album only includes two credited guest vocal appearances, from rappers Future and Young Thug. However, the album features a slew of production credits. The duo pulled in some of the biggest hip-hop producers to contribute to the album, including Mike WiLL Made-It, Zaytoven, Chopsquad DJ, Murda On The Beat, Sonny Digital, and Ronny J, to name a few.

Artwork

The official cover is quintessential Rae Sreummurd. Photographed by Atlanta-based hip-hop visual artist veteran Diwang Valdez, it shows Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi throwing up four fingers to represent that they are in this together for life, as the album’s title drills home.

Singles

Before the release of the entire album, Rae Sremmurd released two singles, including “Torpedo,” which was followed by an official video, co-directed by Matt Swinsky and Medet Shayakhmetov. The second single was “Tanisha (Pump That).” Unfortunately, the group’s previously promoted songs “Community D*ck” featuring Flo Milli, “Denial,” and “Sucka Or Sum” did not make the album cut.

Rae Sremmurd Long-Awaited ‘Sremm4Life’ Album Will Feature Young Thug And Future

We are just days away from Rae Sremmurd‘s much-anticipated fourth studio album, Sremm4Life. Known for their upbeat, fast-paced club bangers, Rae Sremmurd is guaranteed to have the summer on lock with their first album in five years.

Ahead of Sremm4Life, the duo has taken to social media to reveal the album’s tracklist.

As we’ve missed the boys of Rae Sremmurd — Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi — this album isn’t as collaboration-heavy as their previous projects. Still, fans can look forward to collaborations with Future and Young Thug.

Rae Sremmurd has been teasing Sremm4Life for nearly a year. In an interview with GQ last June, the two explain that the album will show a more evolved side of them.

“We’ve got to give them something new, man. As an artist, it’s hard to be yourself, and I feel like with this album, it was like we’re not following a trend,” said Jxmmi. “We want to set the tone.”

Rae Sremmurd Drops “Tanisha (Pump That)” In Anticipation Of Fourth Studio Album

Nearly five years ago, Rae Sremmurd dropped their last studio album, SR3MM. Since then, fans of the duo have sat in heavy anticipation for their next project, with only scattered singles and features to keep them on their feet. But as a new album is rumored to be underway, brothers Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi have joined forces once again to bump up excitement toward their highly-awaited studio effort, SREMM4LIFE.

On Friday, Rae Sremmurd released “Tanisha (Pump That),” produced by Pharrell Williams and Mike Will Made It. The vibey track follows “Sucka Or Sum,” which dropped back in January. “Tanisha (Pump That)” is a danceable number that shows a new side of the brothers. In all, this track is equally laid-back as it is catchy. The effect creates an effortlessly cool number that will likely put Rae Sremmurd on the charts once again.

Rae Sremmurd Have More On The Way

With SR3MM ranking thrice for the 50 Best Albums of 2018 recorded by Billboard, Rolling Stone, and Complex, SREMM4LIFE will hopefully level up the game even further for Rae Sremmurd. The album has been teased with several other releases in 2022, including “Denial,” “Community D**k” featuring Flo Milli, and “Torpedo.” Each single that has been dropped so far showcases a variation in the brother’s undeniably unique style. Simultaneously, the classic Rae Sremmurd flow that fans have fallen in love with remains present.

In addition to dropping their first album in almost five years, Rae Sremmurd has hit the road again to join Post Malone during the Europe leg of his Tweleve Carat Tour. Having not toured since the SremmLive II Tour of 2016-2017, it’s possible that the duo is practicing for a potential SREMM4LIFE tour. While the official release date for SREMM4LIFE has yet to be confirmed, rumors suggest April 7th. We’ll keep you in the loop with Rae Sremmurd updates, and check out HNHH for more hip-hop news.

Quotable Lyrics:

Let’s not go back and forth, she’s what I need
Growin’ it back with force, like the speed
Eyes on your text that say W-Y-A (Yeah)
All of ’em lovers but, babe, I’m away

Rae Sremmurd Announced The Release Date For ‘Sremm4Life’ With Its Stylish New Artwork

Just when it seemed like the wait for Rae Sremmurd’s fourth album was becoming interminable, the sibling act from Tupelo, Mississippi announced the release date for Sremm4Life along with its minimalist album cover on Twitter. The release date will be one month from now, on April 7.

The artwork for the album closely follows the trend established with the first three installments of their Sremmlife albums, with a white background and both brothers mugging for the camera. This time, they’re decked out in stylish outfits, as Slim Jxmmi lies on his back and Swae Lee stands next to him, both throwing up four fingers to mark the milestone.

Fans were, understandably, pretty psyched to see the announcement, as we’ve all been waiting since 2018 for a follow-up to SR3MM, their third album, which consisted of three discs — a group album and a solo album for each brother. Since then, the Brown boys appeared in an episode of Lil Dicky’s FX comedy Dave, Swae Lee became a father while Jxmmi had a couple of run-ins with the law, and they released three new singles to promote the album.

Denial” dropped last June, “Torpedo” came out at the end of the year, and their latest single, “Sucka Or Sum,” arrived in January. The album itself, Sremm4Life, is due 4/7 through EarDrummers / Interscope.

Rae Sremmurd Performed ‘Torpedo’ On ‘Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party,’ Amplifying ‘Sremm4Life’ Watch

Rae Sremmurd dropped the video for “Torpedo” on Friday, December 30. It’s the latest single, following “Denial” and “Community D*ck” featuring Flo Milli, to amplify buzz that SREMM4LIFE is coming sooner than later. The buzz only got louder when Rae Sremmurd performed “Torpedo” on Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party last night, December 31. The NBC special aired live from Miami.

The two-hour show opened with Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton, her co-host and godmother, singing “I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll” in matching leopard-print outfits. Up next: Rae Sremmurd, who started a medley with their 2016 No. 1 song “Black Beatles” before hitting “Torpedo.” They finished by venturing into the crowd for “No Type.”

Later in the show, Swae Lee returned to the stage for a “Party Up The Street” duet with Cyrus. Swae Lee, Cyrus and Mike Will Made-It, who co-produced with Andrew Watt, dropped the vibe-inducing song as part of Cyrus’ 2019 six-track EP She Is Coming.

In January 2022, Cyrus posted photos from the studio with Rae Sremmurd, Mike Will Made-It, and others. Andrew Watt, meanwhile, shared all the way back in June 2021 that he was planning on working on another album with Cyrus. Watt told Guitar World that the album was “still in the planning stages,” but it appears we’re close to Cyrus’ Plastic Hearts followup.

Cyrus confirmed during Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party and across her social media platforms that a new single, “Flowers,” is arriving on January 13, which may or may not purposely be on Liam Hemsworth’s birthday. Either way, we’re here for it.

Rae Sremmurd Drops New Sonny Digital-Produced Single, “Torpedo”

Seven months have passed since Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee officially announced their long-awaited fourth studio album, Sremm4Life. The lauded sibling duo hasn’t reunited on wax for a full-length project since their ambitious triple album SR3MM in 2018. While many fans hoped Rae Sremmurd’s fourth joint outing would arrive in 2022, that no longer appears to be the case.

Fortunately, Rae Sremmurd spent the last several months releasing several singles, including “Denial,” “Community D**k,” and “Finger Food.” Now, Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi are back with their latest banger, “Torpedo” — right on time for New Music Friday.

With the release of “Torpedo,” Rae Sremmurd is one step closer to Sremm4Life

“Torpedo” boasts thumping, synth-fueled production from Sonny Digital, and in contrast to contemporary rap singles, it’s not a short record. Clocking in at a four-minute runtime, the Tulepo, Mississippi duo’s latest release is a vibe that slowly creeps over you. Swae Lee and Jxmmi’s chemistry is still on point, too. As expected, the former holds down the melodies while the latter comes through with the bars. Tempo-wise, it is slower than most of Rae Sremmurd’s pre-album singles, “Torpedo” is still a worthy offering ahead of Sremm4Life.

Quotable Lyrics

We off a lil’ Reposado (Reposado)
She slurpin’ me like Maggiano’s
Black chains, Johnny Bravo (Johnny Bravo)
Chasin’ that chicken no Roscoe’s
Said he talkin’ that check, mi hablo
Got a couple of cribs like Pablo
Louboutins steppin’ on rojo (Red)
You know I left with the right ho (Yeah)
She said I’m country like Joe Dirt (Joe Dirt)
In the Lambo truck, I bet she go berzerk (Skrr)
If I flex on you niggas, it’s gon’ hurt (Gon’ hurt)
I’m a martian like Wayne, I ain’t on Earth (I ain’t from this Earth)

Rae Sremmurd Reflects On The ‘Denial’ Aspect Of Love In Their New Video

Love isn’t easy. Sometimes one partner is too sure while the other lacks the certainty and confidence to commit to the risk of giving their heart over to someone else. Rae Sremmurd, in their first release ahead of their upcoming album Sremm4life, takes this topic head-on with their new video “Denial.”

The visual is set with Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi performing the record on a beach in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. In some scenes, there are beautiful women either at their side or posing in front of a window as the sun illuminates their skin. The two get their own time to get some fun poses in as well. A certain staircase should look very familiar, as it is the same one Snoop Dogg and Pharrell sat on in the classic “Beautiful” video.

While Swae Lee has been relatively active since Rae Sremmurd’s last release, 2018’s Sr3mm, Slxm Jimmi and the duo as a whole have taken a significant hiatus. There were previous rumors that they were going to split up, but the announcement that Sremmlife4 silenced all of those. Rae Sremmurd hit the ground running upon their debut with LPs Sremmlife and Sremmlife 2, so there is much anticipation for what is to come in this next chapter.

Rae Sremmurd Is Dropping New Track “Denial” On Wednesday

FUGXZF3WQAEMqeS

Rae Sremmurd is planning to drop their fourth studio album, SREMM4LIFE, and the first single from the album will be “Denial.”

The duo made up of Slim Jxmmi, and Swae Lee took it to social media to make the announcement. They released the news with a music video preview and a pre-save link for “Denial.”

From its looks, the group is on some island vibes with “Denial.” Swae Lee is singing soothing high notes, while Slim Jxmmi provides the energy to the track, and the duo is back.

The last time was 2018’s SR3MM. That album, which featured Juicy J, Travis Scott, Future, Pharrell, Young Thug, The Weeknd, and Zoë Kravitz, debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200. SR3MM sold around 57,000 total album-equivalent units.

It’s safe to say the excitement of the return of Rae Sremmurd is real. The group tweeted out the artwork for their forthcoming SREMM4LIFE album. They followed with tweets that confirmed that music was on the way.

Rae Sremmurd Teases ‘Sremm4Life,’ Their Upcoming Fourth Album: ‘Bout To Get A Dose Of This Sremmy’

It’s been quite a while since Rae Sremmurd gave the world a full body of work. To find that, you’d have to go back to 2018 when the rap duo composed of Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi released their third album SR3MM. The project arrived as a triple-disc with one side being a 9-track Rae Sremmurd release, and the remaining two discs being 9-track solo efforts from Swae and Slim. The rappers have shared some tidbits about their fourth album over the years, but music has yet to arrive from it. All of that could change soon as they teased the project once again from their social media accounts.

The rap duo posted an image of the number four of fire to the Rae Sremmurd Twitter page with the caption, “SREMM4LIFE.” In a second tweet that Swae Lee shared from his personal account, he added, “Bout to get a dose of this Sremmy.” Slim Jxmmi also chimed in with his own tweet, writing, “Time for that 4 foe four for phor.” All of the aforementioned posts seemingly confirm that new music from the project should arrive much sooner than later.

In an interview with Essence back in 2019, Rae Sremmurd seemingly confirmed that their upcoming fourth album would be set up like 2018’s SR3MM. For what it’s worth, that interview was more than three years ago, so it remains to be seen if that is still the plan for the duo.
