R&B Sensation SiR Drops Emotionally Charged Album "Heavy" and New Single "You"

Grammy-nominated artist SiR unveils his fourth studio album, Heavy, alongside a captivating new single and video for “You,” released via TDE. Heavy is a profound exploration of SiR’s journey, delving into themes of recovery, mental health, and physical transformation.

The album features soul-stirring tracks like “Six Whole Days” and “Ricky’s Song,” where SiR bares his soul with anthemic melodies and raw lyricism—collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign, Isaiah Rashad, Ab-Soul, Anderson .Paak, and Scribz Riley enrich the album’s emotional depth.

“My life was in shambles, and the music was coming out phenomenal,” SiR says. “I was surprised. But then, once I got to the other side [of my problems], it started to get even better. That’s where the album’s coming from. It’s coming from a place where you’re going to see both sides.”

With Heavy, SiR showcases his fearless honesty and musical prowess, cementing his status as a leading figure in contemporary R&B.

SiR Says He Hopes Fans Understand How Personal His Album Is: ‘I Hope It Translates’

IS MS WW 240306 Radio Host Nadeska Visiting SiR Interview New York Griffith 000216 Retouched

SiR is a new man. Joining Nadeksa Alexis on Apple Music’s R&B Now Radio, The TDE Crooner spoke about his new album, Heavy, and what he hopes fans will take away from the release.

“I hope it translates,” SiR said. “That’s all I can ask for is that people hear it and they understand that as personal as it is, I wrote it because I want them to feel, you know what I mean? And I want them to feel what I was going through. And if they’re going through something, I want them to feel that. You know what I mean?

“I want them to embrace that pain so that they can move through it. Because I bottled a lot of this stuff up. Thank God I got it off on this album.”

SiR Presents Some Of Deepest Material On “HEAVY”

Inglewood, California’s own SiR has been wowing us over the past few months with two incredible singles. January’s “NO EVIL” was the Top Dawg entertainer’s first solo single in a year and a half and it floored us. Perhaps his most powerful performance of his career in terms of vocals, it was an homage to the legend D’Angelo. It is a song that still burns for us two months later. Then, he came back in February with “KARMA” featuring fellow labelmate Isaiah Rashad. It was about staring down their mistakes and dealing with the consequences to follow.

Both of these personal tracks certainly did an excellent job at promoting SiR’s long-awaited project HEAVY. This is the R&B veteran’s first record since 2019’s Chasing Summer which boasted hits like “Hair Down,” “John Redcorn,” and “You Can’t Save Me.” In a recent interview with That Good Sh*t, SiR talked about the meaning behind HEAVY. “What I’m talking about is the heaviest. Yeah I mean it’s the truth, on steroids,” he explains.

Listen To HEAVY By SiR

“People need to hear it I think. As much as it might hurt or as much as it might take you somewhere you don’t want to be, it’s what you need,” SiR adds. You are going to get a HEAVY dosage of those messages across the record, and they are rewarding experiences. The production is rich, lush, beautiful and hard-hitting. SiR is bringing dynamic performances as well and so far we are enjoying tracks like “I’M NOT PERFECT,” “SIX WHOLE DAYS,” and “YOU.”

Inglewood singer Sir Daryl Farris — better known mononymously as SiR — has been rolling out his fourth studio album Heavy for the last few weeks, releasing the single “Karma” and even appearing in the NBA’s Celebrity Game for All-Star Weekend. Today, he revealed the cover art and tracklist, which features both his fellow TDE labelmates (Ab-Soul, Isaiah Rashad) and other LA soul veterans (Anderson .Paak, Ty Dolla Sign).

Like labelmate Schoolboy Q, who just dropped his album Blue Lips after a five-year hiatus, SiR is also releasing after a five-year break. His last album, Chasing Summer, came out in 2019 and reached No. 64 on the Billboard 200 chart. It featured appearances from then-labelmate Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, Sabrina Claudio, and Smino, among others, and spawned two singles “Hair Down” and fan favorite “John Redcorn.” The five-year album cycle seems to be a trend for Top Dawg Entertainment, with Ab-Soul and Isaiah Rashad both also putting half a decade between their most recent releases.

Heavy is due on March 22 via TDE and RCA.

SiR Drops Single "Karma" Feat. Isaiah Rashad, Sets Album for March 22

Grammy-nominated R&B artist SiR, known for his soulful melodies, has released his latest single and music video, “Karma,” featuring Isaiah Rashad and produced by Sigurd. The track previews his upcoming album, Heavy, scheduled for release on March 22 via TDE.

“Karma” blends delicate piano arrangements with SiR’s captivating vocals, layered with rich harmonies that deliver the powerful message of karma’s inevitability.

Directed by Loris Russier, the music video complements the song’s narrative, depicting SiR and other characters navigating life’s challenges, confronting their vices, and facing the consequences of their actions.

This release follows SiR’s earlier single and video, “No Evil,” which paid homage to D’Angelo’s “Untitled (How Does It Feel),” while showcasing the artist’s impressive fitness transformation.

With “Karma,” SiR continues to showcase his musical prowess and storytelling abilities, setting the stage for what promises to be an impactful album release.
