50 Cent Can’t Get Enough Of Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” Video Outtake

50 Cent has a near universal approval rating as a social media presence. He regularly posts hilarious memes, trolls the likes of Diddy, and links up with artists he likes. 50 Cent and Cardi B are both New York legends, and we’re happy to assure readers that there’s no beef brewing between them. Instead, the G-Unit mogul dug up behind-the-scenes footage of Cardi B’s breakout video “Bodak Yellow.” The footage sees Cardi B very clearly freaked out by wild animal she interacts with, and 50 thinks it’s hilarious.

50 Cent posted the footage on his Instagram. The quality is not top-notch, but Cardi B can clearly be seen trying to rap “Bodak Yellow.” As anyone who’s seen the official video can recall, Cardi is holding a leopard on a leash during one of the set-ups. It’s a cool visual, but it’s one that evidently stressed the rapper out. Cardi B raps a few bars before the leopard turns her way and hisses. The rapper is very clearly (and understandably) freaked out by the incident. “Okay, no, no, no,” she tells someone off screen. “Come hold him.” A man is then heard ordering someone to “take him” away from Cardi B.

50 Cent Admits He’d Be As Scared As Cardi B

Obviously, the rapper got through the shoot unscathed. Knowing this, 50 Cent found the footage to be absolutely side-splitting. “Yo this this sh*t had me crying,” he wrote on Instagram. “Cardi said no come get him.” The rapper had a good laugh, but he admitted that he would be just as freaked out to be close to a wild animal without protection. “Lol hahahahaha,” he added. “I be scared of that sh*t too f*ck that.” 50 Cent is no stranger to music video complications, either. In 2012, the rapper was hospitalized shortly after the release of the video for “Complicated.”

50 Cent’s bulletproof SUV was rear-ended by a Mack truck on New York’s Long Island Expressway mere hours after the video dropped. The rapper, along with his driver, were sent to the hospital around 3 a.m. Fortunately, neither man was seriously hurt. According to XXL, they were released within hours. When he’s not scrolling through Instagram, 50 Cent is busy making tons off the streaming profits to his classic single “Many Men (Wish Death).” The song became a meme after the recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump, and streaming numbers have shot up a staggering 300%.

Childish Gambino’s “Lithonia” Music Video Takes A Horrifying Turn: Watch

Childish Gambino knows how to sell an aesthetic. He alters his look for each album rollout, and the music videos that accompany his singles follow suit. “3005” is worlds away from “This Is America,” and his new single, “Lithonia,” is different from both. The video for “Lithonia” starts off with a surprisingly minimal set up. Childish Gambino steps to the mic and sings. The camera focuses on his mouth, and stays put for the first 40 seconds before cutting to a wide shot. From there, a band shuffles in behind the artist and starts jamming.

“Lithonia” has a rock and post-punk influence, which is relatively within Childish Gambino’s catalog. The band members will look familiar to fans of both indie music and film. The drummer is Alex Wolff, who got his start in the Naked Brothers Band but has since gone on to star in the classic horror flick Hereditary. The guitarist is Ludwig Goransson, Gambino’s longtime producer and Oscar-winning composer of the film Oppenheimer. A small audience sits before the band, listening intently as the music swells. It’s the switch at the 1:30 mark, though, where things really take a turn for the weird. The band members begin to exhibit strange behavior, culminating with Gambino screaming until his eyeballs literally explode.

Childish Gambino Turns Feral In New Music Video

The girl in the front row gets covered in blood, and proceeds to run out of the studio. The video hard cuts to her running outside, but Childish Gambino chases after her. The artist can no longer see (obviously), but feral instincts appear to have kicked in, and he lets out an animalistic scream. It’s pretty unsettling, especially given how sudden the shift from weirdness to outright terror is. Gambino has never officially dabbled in horror, but he’s flirted with the genre in the past. He was the co-creator and producer of the HBO show Swarm, which detailed a woman’s disturbing obsession with a pop star.

The music video for “Lithonia” also harkens back to Childish Gambino’s breakout single, “Bonfire.” The 2011 standout from Camp featured the rapper waking up in the woods with a noose around his neck. He spends the rest of the video trying to warn his friends about an impending murderer. The video ends with Childish Gambino realizing that he’s a ghost, and that none of the other campers can see or hear him. We’re curious to see how the rest of the Bando Stone and the New World music videos continue the “Lithonia” storyline.

Future Drops “Rotation” Music Video To Celebrate Nine Years Of “DS2”

Future is one of the defining rappers of his generation. He may not have the pedigree of the Big Three, but his consistency is something to be marveled at. He took Lil Wayne’s work ethic and coated it with his own codeine-laced style. Fans continue to debate which Future tape is best, but there’s no denying that Dirty Sprite 2 is his most iconic. It’s the album in which he put everything together. It rebranded him in a way that he’s still benefiting from today. Future knows how beloved DS2 is, and he gave fans a surprise release for the album’s tenth anniversary.

Future released a music video for the album cut “Rotation” on July 18. The rapper doesn’t really mince words when it comes to his rollouts, so he kept brief in the caption. “Unreleased, 9years later,” he wrote on Instagram. “DS2 PLUTO back.” It’s not clear if Future meant that DS2 Pluto was back for the sake of the anniversary, or if the aesthetic and vibe of DS2 Pluto would be returning for his next album. Either way, we’re happy to see him again. The music video for “Rotation” is predictably grimy, with the rapper walking around a gas station with a double cup. It looks like it was shot in a single night, which was part of the appeal of DS2‘s DIY approach.

Future Shot The Music Video Back In 2015

DS2‘s reputation is bulletproof these days, even among non-Future fans. That being said, Southside was nervous about the album’s direction when it was being made. “We were nervous,” the producer admitted to Complex in 2020. “It was a new sound and a new swag… [the fans] were accepting everything and we didn’t want to miss. We had to make sure it was right.” Southside produced six tracks on the OG version of DS2, and four more on the deluxe. Fittingly, Southside’s favorite memory from the DS2 sessions was making “Rotation.”

Southside claimed that he and Metro Boomin made the beat right in front of Future’s eyes. To make the whole thing more impressive, Future laid down his verse in even less time than it took to make the music. “He really rapped everything that was going on in the room,” the producer recalled. “He really bought all the sodas at the gas station. [Future] rapped everything that was going on. It was just funny. I’m like, ‘This man’s crazy.’” Crazy or not, the process worked, and now we have a music video for it.

Jae Skeese & Big K.R.I.T. Get “Situated” On New Track With Sauce Walka

These days, Buffalo-born performer Jae Skeese is hard at work, as his upcoming album is on the horizon. The project, titled Ground Level, is currently slated for release on August 16. Marking a pivotal point in his career, the LP will include various high-profile features from the likes of Jay Worthy, Dave East, Project Pat, Smoke DZA, Statik Selektah, and many more. The rapper even teamed up with Big K.R.I.T. and Sauce Walka for a track on the new album, which they unveiled last week. “Situated” features mellow production and high-octane bars about making money, personal evolution, and more. It serves as a solid introduction to the upcoming project, putting Skeese’s lyrical dexterity and laid-back flow on full display.

Ground Level represents my progression from the basement to building upon the foundation I’ve laid over the past three years. This includes my Drumwork debut Abolished Uncertainties (2023) and my collaboration with Conway The Machine, Pain Provided Profit. I’m now exploring how much higher I can climb from this first floor,” Skeese says of the upcoming project.

“The Ground Level mindset is about overcoming challenges and reaching new heights while staying grounded,” he also adds. What do you think of Jae Skeese and Big K.R.I.T.’s new collab with Sauce Walka? Will you be adding “Situated” to your summer playlist or not? Yungeen Ace Drops New “Ready To Die” Single & Music Video Following Foolio Hit Allegations

Yungeen Ace is on a roll, as his diss tracks towards his late rival Foolio paved the way for a lot of viral engagement these days. To keep this hot streak up, he just dropped a new single and music video, “Ready To Die,” whose title and subject matter obviously invokes the late shooting subliminally and indirectly… or as low-key as it could given the circumstances. Regardless, it’s a pretty by-the-numbers visual treatment for a trap banger, but we’re sure that hardcore fans will be pretty happy with the results. Considering all the drama and speculation around Ace’s name right now, we expect many more releases emerge in 2024.

The big story right now, which Yungeen Ace hasn’t responded to in any serious manner at press time, is a claim from an unidentified male on social media that Ace paid him to carry out the hit on Foolio. “On everything I love, on the dead homies, I put it on everything, on my soul, on my kid, n***a: I’m the one that smacked Julio Foolio that night when he got dropped at his birthday celebration,” the mystery man said. “I ain’t gonna show my face or give my identity away or nothing like that, but you know, I did that. There was money on his head.

“I rock with [Yungeen Ace] and them boys, ATK,” Foolio’s alleged murderer went on. “I be in Jacksonville heavy. If you know, you know. I handled that because Ace had that money on his head, Ace had them put that 10K up. Told me to slide, told me to smack Foolio because he got tired of that n***a running his mouth, playing all the time, you feel me? It is what it is, bruh. A n***a don’t give a f**k. About that money, anybody can get it. Foolio had it coming to him, so I don’t really feel sorry.

“A lot of people feel that it was on some gang s**t,” Yungeen Ace’s alleged affiliate concluded. “It ain’t even really all that. Ace put that bread up and whoever wanted to take it, took it, so I took that. Rest in peace, Foolio.”

LL Cool J’s “Passion” Is Palpable In New Music Video: Watch

LL Cool J’s new single “Passion” certainly lives up to his title, as he spits on what he loves about rap music and how much he cares about its artistry. It’s a very motivating and nostalgic track, an element that its new music video emphasizes by seeing LL in his current form and as a small child. There’s a particular emphasis on him writing rhymes in his notebook in presumably his childhood room, and it makes for a dynamic and engaging visual treatment as you can see the bars literally orbit around him and pop up in cartoon speech bubbles.

Furthermore, this is the latest single for LL Cool J’s upcoming album, and his first in over a decade, The FORCE (Frequencies Of Real Creative Energy). The project will feature Nas, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, and more massive guests across the 14-track, largely Q-Tip-produced tracklist, and it’s shaping up to be one of 2024’s biggest legacy releases. “[I was] going back to the drawing board and learning how to rap again,” he told the Associated Press about the LP. “The LeBrons, the Stephs, the Jordans and the Kobes, they all go back to the drawing board, they always try to make themselves better. I wasn’t trying to do trendy, and I wasn’t trying to recapture anything I did before.”

LL Cool J’s “Passion” Music Video: Watch

Also, this “Passion” music video lands among LL Cool J’s reflections on his relationship with another icon of the game. During a conversation with Charlamagne Tha God, he spoke on how some people are under the impression that he has beef with Jay-Z. While the two MCs aren’t the best of friends, they’ve shown each other plenty of love over the years despite what some anecdotes, rumors, and lyrical interpretations might have you believe. After all, they’re two New York legends.

Meanwhile, LL Cool J is just as prone to talk about the current state of hip-hop. “Drake, that ‘Not Like Us’ s**t, that s**t’s torture for a motherf***er,” he said of the K.Dot and Drizzy rap beef during this Charlamagne convo. “Ah, s**t, little kids singing to it. You know that s**t’s bananas. You’ll be fine, bro. Don’t even trip. You just don’t take it personal… You can’t be overly sensitive. I get it. I been there, I know it. It can be upsetting… But you gotta control that.”

Kid Cudi Becomes “SUPERBOY” In New Music Video: Watch

Kid Cudi isn’t done with his INSANO era, as he just dropped the music video for his wavy and bass-heavy NITRO MEGA deluxe cut, “SUPERBOY.” Moreover, it sees him happily around Japan, taking in city scenery, walking around empty spaces, enjoying a concert and some good food, and connecting with many creative collaborators. It’s a very pleasant and enjoyable experience, and an infectiously fun one thanks to the soaring melodies and the persistent buzzing bass. Hopefully it’s not the last visual treatment we get out of this era, as most of the additional material from the Cudder universe tends to be just as creative and exciting as the music.

Speaking of which, Kid Cudi is releasing some new singles in addition to this INSANO run, but they aren’t notable because of another album being on the way. Rather, these singles correspond to a new issue of the Moon Man comic book series that he developed and is releasing, with two more issues scheduled for wide distribution at press time later in 2024. The latest of these issues and corresponding songs is “DREAMS I SEE,” and it’s just as woozy and ethereal as you might expect. As such, there’s a lot to be excited about these days when it comes to this artistry.

Kid Cudi’s “SUPERBOY” Music Video: Watch

Sadly, most fans won’t get to see this exciting run for themselves for a while, as Kid Cudi had to cancel his INSANO tour due to breaking his foot at Coachella. “Just finished my 2nd surgery,” he shared on his Instagram recently to update fans on his recovery process and his mental state. “It was a success. Feelin goood man!! Send me all ur love, I could really use it.”

In addition, Kid Cudi also let fans know that most of the rescheduling process for the tour is already done, and that we should get a significant update on new dates very soon. Not only that, but he also teased some more new music that he hopes to drop by summer’s end. Whether these new drops are the remaining Moon Man cuts, loosies, or part of a whole ‘nother album cycle is still a mystery. But amid a hopefully speedy and successful recovery, fans will enjoy the rewards of their patience.

Tyga & Sabrina Claudio Reveal That Their Boo’d Up Pics Were Just For A Music Video

It turns out that Tyga and Sabrina Claudio’s lovey-dovey pictures together were just to get buzz started for a music video… go figure. Moreover, they took to their Instagram pages to post a teaser for their upcoming collab “No Question” and its visual treatment, which is set in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Claudio is of Cuban and Puerto Rican descent, so it’ll be interesting to see what gorgeous vistas and landscapes we get to see, and just how much they ham it up with the fake fling stuff. Some fans expressed relief at this news, whereas others are sad that their shipping campaign barely got off the ground.

It’s not all that Tyga’s been controversially in the news over as of late, though, even when it comes to music videos. For example, Trey Songz recently posted some footage of an unreleased music video with him, and explained why he chose not to release it. “Archives,” Songz captioned the post. “I scrapped this video cause it wasn’t enough Black women in it. In Spain last time somebody called me n***er didn’t feel right [shoulder shrug emoji]. Song cold tho. Traw my dawg @tyga.”

Tyga & Sabrina Claudio Tease New Music Video

Elsewhere, this should be a pretty exciting collab for both artists, who have had a good 2024 so far with big chances to make it even hotter. On Tyga’s end, he recently released the single “Uh Huh” with 310babii, expanding their collaborative history and giving fans yet another hit. It was a banger, and folks wonder whether he will keep this up for this Claudio team-up or switch gears entirely. From what the music video and fake relationship indicates, it won’t exactly be a trunk-knocker.

Meanwhile, Tyga has also made sure to represent the older generation with some of his new releases, including the era-bending single “Hello B***h.” It’s a song that pays homage to current MCs like BIA and older legends like Lil Jon, and shows off some surprising and welcome versatility. We’ll see how “No Question” stacks up to these releases, and whether we’ll see a new side to him this time around. Let’s just be more careful with the rumor mill next time artists try to play us with some promotional romantic pics.

Kendrick Lamar Surpasses Drake Yet Again With “Not Like Us” Video Views

Kendrick Lamar finally unveiled his eagerly anticipated “Not Like Us” music video last week, and so far, it’s been a major success. At the time of writing, the Easter egg-packed visual has racked up a whopping 40 million views on YouTube, which is certainly no lousy feat. For reference, Drake’s “Family Matters” music video is currently sitting at 35 million, despite being released back in May.

This only adds to Kendrick’s long list of wins amid his viral lyrical battle with Drizzy. It doesn’t necessarily come as a surprise either, as the track is widely believed to be the one that crowned him the winner. Fans had been waiting to see what he’d come up with since he was spotted filming in Compton last month. Clearly, they weren’t disappointed with the results.

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Music Video Earns Over 40 Million Views

This is far from Kendrick’s only explosive moment of recent weeks, however. The Compton-born performer also celebrated Juneteenth with his “Pop Out” show at the Forum in LA joined by several high-profile special guests. This was the first time supporters got to see live renditions of Drake disses like “Euphoria” and “Not Like Us,” which he performed several times in a row with the help of his celebrity peers.

As for Drizzy, he’s been keeping a low profile as of late aside from a few features and vague posts. He did attend Michael Rubin’s annual white party recently though, and photos surfaced online shortly after the event. Reportedly, the DJ steered clear of any Kendrick tracks throughout the evening, likely making things less awkward for everyone involved. What do you think of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” music video surpassing Drake’s “Family Matters” music video? Are you surprised or not? Are you a fan of the video? Kendrick Lamar Gives Tam’s Burgers A Huge Sales Boost Through “Not Like Us” Video

The whole city of Los Angeles is riding behind the strength of the Kendrick Lamar “Not Like Us” music video, and a rising tide lifts all boats. Moreover, per TMZ, the Tam’s Burgers restaurant that K.Dot and Mustard pull up to in Compton is seeing a massive increase in sales following its appearance in the music video. Lauro Hernandez, the manager of the Rosecrans Ave location, and his son Bryan Noe reportedly told the outlet that tourists and locals have come in droves and got sales up by 30 to 40 percent since the video dropped. Hernandez spoke of knowing Kendrick for years (he’s shouted Tam’s out before on songs like “ELEMENT”) and still marveling at how connected he is to his community.

In addition, Tam’s Burgers’ Compton manager said that he didn’t charge Kendrick Lamar for the visit or music video inclusion, but agreed to have the Tam’s logo in the visuals. The Dave Free-co-directed treatment for “Not Like Us” has over 37 million views at press time, so it’s likely that Tam’s will continue to have some great kickback from the homage. Seeing this view count skyrocket was an unsurprising feat, but still a pretty impressive one. However, what’s most astonishing is just how clean and striking much of the video is.

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Video Gives Tam’s Burgers A Boost

Also, we already knew that Kendrick Lamar could cook up some beef angles to make a restaurant pop. On one of his other Drake disses, “Euphoria,” his mention of the New Ho King restaurant in Toronto also caused a huge surge of customers for the location. In fact, the eatery even introduced a special meal that comprises of Kendrick’s exact order in the track. We even saw Drizzy himself seemingly pull up to it recently: one of his many bitter but still funny IG trolls against his Compton rival post-battle.

Meanwhile, with Spotify reportedly denying botting allegations for “Not Like Us,” Kendrick Lamar’s track clearly resonated with a massive number of people. It’s amazing to see that the song didn’t inspire folks to buy owl piñatas in droves, but rather that it drew them to Los Angeles’ great food, culture, and history. We’ll see what other successes result from this music video and rollout, and whether there’s even more to come. It does seem like the perfect time to start an album cycle…
