Earlier this week, she took to Twitter/X to express that she feels as though fans are far too attached to a persona that’s just no longer “her.”

According to her, it holds her back from being able to freely evolve as an artist, and as an individual. She’s even hinted at a name change recently, suggesting that she’ll remove the “Leray” from her name to just go by Coi. It’s to be seen whether or not she’ll fully commit to that anytime soon.

For the time being, Coi is gearing up to unveil more new music at midnight (April 26). To get fans prepared, she took to Instagram today to drop off a series of flirty selfies in a bathtub. “No filter . New music @ midnight,” she captioned the carousel. It remains unclear exactly she plans to drop, but she did perform two unreleased songs at Coachella, “Coke Bottle Body” and “Not in the Store.”

Coi’s Instagram post comes after she opened up about her decision to leave Republic Records during a chat with fans on Instagram Live. “When I dropped Blue Moon, Republic, they wanted pop sh*t. To this day, there are fans who see XXX as a legend of sorts. They believe that he is a 2Pac-like figure who would have gone on to become a true superstar. Although no one can say for sure what would have happened, there is no doubt he had potential.

Since his passing, there has certainly been a cult-like quality to his fanbase. Overall, they always want to know more about him, especially since they didn’t get to see much when he was alive. The outlet highlighted the showstopping Chenpeng gown Cardi rocked at the 2023 Met Gala honoring Karl Lagerfeld, which took roughly 300 hours to create.

“Karl Lagerfeld was such a force, so I wanted to pay tribute to him but also incorporate elements of Chanel, one of Cardi’s favorite houses,” Carter said of the look. “We’ve given look after look, year after year, we’ve reached into archives that are impossible to reach into. We caused a cultural shift. I don’t think there were many women like Cardi who existed in the fashion space. Now there are a ton of other rap females who aspire to be in that space because they see what’s possible. We set trends.”

Kendrick Lamar’s verse on “Like That” is going especially viral, as he ripped Drake and J. Cole to shreds. “F*ck sneak dissin’, first person shooter, I hope they came with three switches,” he rhymes. “Think I won’t drop the location? I still got PTSD/ Motherf*ck the big three, n***a, it’s just big me/ N***a, bum, what? I’m really like that/ And your best work is a light pack.”

He clearly left little room for interpretation, and for obvious reasons, his verse has social media users split. While most can agree that Kendrick’s feature is a highlight on the album, others wish he would have spared Drizzy, and are curious about what this means for his relationship with Future and Metro Boomin. He’s yet to comment on the debacle publicly, but some recent shots of his trip to Miami seem to paint a pretty clear picture of where he’s at right now.

But we can’t say we’re surprised at this being a pretty diverse spectrum of Bianca’s own volition rather than the close-minded interpretation you’ll often see in the media.

Furthermore, she’s actually been spending a lot of time with her mother recently, such as hitting up Los Angeles to see Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s VULTURES “performance.” In fact, Bianca Censori even ran into the Chicago artist’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian at this event. They’ve been seeing a lot more of each other as of late, and it’s great to see that they can keep up an amicable relationship. We don’t know the details of their bond beyond what the cameras show, but considering that Censori’s also spent time with their children, we can hope that things are pretty stable.
