Ski Mask The Slump God Takes To The Streets Of ‘Shibuya’ On His New Single

Ski Mask The Slump God has made a long-awaited return. Tonight (March 15), the elusive rapper kicked off the chapter of his upcoming album, 11th Dimension, which is set to arrive later this year. Signifying the new beginning is the album’s lead single, “Shibuya.”

Over a technological, video game-like beat, Ski Mask reminds everyone that while six years have passed since his debut album, Stokeley, he’s not leaving the rap game anytime soon. He maintains his brash, rough delivery — making it feel that although he’s been away for a minute, it’s like he never left.

“For the right price, he’ll do ya / That’s my right-hand man / We out in Shibuya, outside in Japan / Striped sweater on me like Krueger, huh, what’s it to ya? / Introduce you to my new gun, this Ruger in my pants,” Ski Mask raps on the song’s chorus.

“Shibuya” marks Ski Mask’s first solo single in two years, his most recent being “Ooga Booga.” He also appears on the Lyrical Lemonade album All Is Yellow on a track called “Fly Away” with Sheck Wes.

This Sunday (March 17), Ski Mask will perform at Rolling Loud for a 45-minute set on the Ethika Stage.

In the meantime, you can see listen to “Shibuya” above.

Megan Thee Stallion Sips From Live Snake-Filled Liquor Bottle In Japan

Megan Thee Stallion has been making her way around Japan in recent days after presenting at the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, and evidently, it’s been an eye-opening excursion. Aside from serving Tokyo-inspired looks on Instagram, the hitmaker has been trying plenty of new things. Recently, she even sampled some interesting liquor, which was housed in a bottle containing a live snake.

Of course, Meg didn’t go in without a fair amount of hesitation. “What the f*ck,” she said, inspecting the snake in the bottle and shrieking. “Okay… Is this gonna kill me? He’s looking at me!” Eventually, she decided to turn the bottle so the snake wouldn’t be facing her while she tried the drink.

Megan Thee Stallion’s Adventures In Japan

Eventually, she worked up enough courage to take a tiny sip, and immediately looked repulsed. According to her, she wasn’t aware that snakes have a distinctive flavor. “That’s tough,” she said. “That’s strong. I never knew a snake had a taste. That tastes like a snake.” Luckily, after a few moments of disgust and confusion, it seems like the unorthodox beverage grew on Meg. While fans are pretty horrified and grossed out by the clip, they’re glad to see the songstress branching out, and really leaning into her snake era.

Megan Thee Stallion isn’t the only femcee trying new things these days, however. Earlier this week, Cardi B took to TikTok to try out balut, a Filipino delicacy. Unfortunately, her taste taste didn’t go over nearly as well. Despite holding her nose, the “Bodak Yellow” performer promptly spit out the small bite she took. Megan Thee Stallion has been having a phenomenal start to 2024. Overall, it was kicked off with her fantastic track “Hiss.” The song had some disses towards the likes of Nicki Minaj, and it ultimately went number one on the Billboard charts. It sparked a feud between herself and Nicki, although she ultimately came out as victorious. Since that time, fans have been curious to see how Meg would follow up her success. However, she has mostly been able to secure massive partnerships outside of hip-hop.

For instance, she has worked with Nike, Planet Fitness, and she even got to host the anime awards recently. This all coincided with a trip to Japan where she has been taking in the culture. Since she was in high school, Meg has been a huge anime fan and has immersed herself in Japanese culture. Consequently, you can imagine that she had herself an amazing time out in Tokyo. While it’s only the start of the third month of 2024, it’s already been a major year for Megan Thee Stallion. For starters, the Houston-born hottie made a splash with her single “Hiss” in January. Amid the inevitably explosive fallout from the track, she announced her new made history with a unique deal with Warner Music Group, which allows her to maintain her independence as an artist while still receiving assistance with “distribution and marketing resources” from the label. She then dropped a new collection in collaboration with Nike, which of course, sold out almost immediately.

Now, she’s preparing to add yet another exciting accomplishment to her list: being a presenter at the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards. The hitmaker took to social media earlier today to reveal that she’s touched down in Tokyo for the event. “We made it to JAPAN,” she captioned the carousel, which left fans in awe.

Quavo Hones His Karate Skills In Japan: Watch

Quavo’s been making the most of his time in Japan lately, shooting what appears to be an upcoming music video at a karate studio earlier this week. He shared a carousel from his visit on Instagram, boasting a black belt as he flexed his newfound skills. In one clip, the Georgia native is seen using his fist to break a wooden board with ease, proudly walking off after the feat.

“That was nice,” he was sure to note. Elsewhere in his post, Quavo included shots of himself eating sushi from a model’s scantily clad body, posing with a group of dancers from the video, and more. It’s unclear what track the new video will accompany, but obviously, he’s going all out.

Quavo Appears To Be Shooting A New Music Video

While most commenters are impressed by Quavo’s karate skills, others are sounding off with jokes. “He paid for that black belt,” one fan theorizes. “Bro hit an adlib after the hit,” another mentions. Regardless, it’s clear that the performer’s having a blast on his trip. Amid his travels, the former Migos member never misses an opportunity to honor his fallen nephew Takeoff, and his trip to Japan has been no exception. Earlier this week, he spotted a local fan sporting a t-shirt featuring various images of the late artist’s face. “Yea boy, you got that motherf**ker on!” he shouted, overjoyed to see the fan showing love to Takeoff. “Ooo, that shirt hard! Where’d you get this?” he then asked.

Naturally, the fan removed the shirt in the middle of the street and gave it to him without hesitation. Quavo offered the generous man some cash in exchange for the shirt, but he seemed satisfied by the heartfelt encounter. Are you impressed with Quavo’s karate skills? Are you looking forward to his upcoming music video? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Takeoff Shirt Catches Quavo’s Eye In Japan, Fan Immediately Removes & Gives It To Rapper

It’s now been over a year since the untimely death of Takeoff, but still, the loss weighs heavy on the hip-hop community. In particular, Quavo continues to grieve his partner-in-rhyme’s passing daily, though he wears his pain well. Due to the mass impact the uncle and nephew duo had in the Migos alongside Offset, the “WORKIN’ ME” hitmaker continues to see reminders of Take everywhere that he looks for them. During a recent trip to Japan, Q happened to cross paths with a group of fans – one of them wearing a fresh shirt with the Rocket Man’s face all over it.

Obviously loving the representation, the Atlanta native praised his new friend for his fit before asking if he could keep the shirt for himself. “Ohhh, let me see that shirt boy!” a voice behind the camera yells in the video below. “Yea boy, you got that motherf**ker on! Ooo, that shirt hard! Where’d you get this?” he excitedly asks. “Lemme get one, please! Can I have it?” Quavo continues while recording the Japanese local, who can hardly believe the interaction he’s having.

Takeoff and Quavo are Big in Japan

“You?!” he replies, seemingly in shock that one of his favourite rappers is jacking his swag. The Takeoff fan looked happy enough to just be crossing paths with Q, but ever the gentleman, he couldn’t leave without offering some money. Much to viewers’ surprise, all the kind soul wanted was a replacement top to put on for his night out. As reactions pour in on social media, some are suggesting that it was Takeoff checking in on his uncle from the after life, reminding Quavo that they’re always together in spirit.

As for the third member of the Migos, Offset, he’s also been in the news lately for reasons related to his fallen friend. When asked why he didn’t include a Takeoff tribute on his recent album, the lyricist had a poignant explanation that respects both his art and the Rocket Man’s legacy. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Drake Pays For Fan’s Flight Back To Japan, Announces “For All The Dogs” Delay

It’s been a mixed day of stories for Drake fans. First up is a heartwarming story out of Dallas. During the It’s All a Blur concert in the city, Drake spotted a fan holding a up a sign that claimed they had flown all the way from Japan to see the tour. “You came here from Japan for the show? You know what … we flyin’ you home first class back to Japan. We love y’all. I’ve never been to Japan, but you came to me. So that’s love. That’s what life is about. You got to show love,” Drake told the fan.

The story was relayed to the rest of the world by awe-struck fans on Twitter. “There was a couple that flew to my show from Japan. Drake saw their sign and is flying them home first class. Drake Delays For All The Dogs Until October

According to an Instagram post from Drizzy himself, fans will have to wait a while longer for For All The Dogs. “Okay my dilemma I am faced with is I either cancel shows to finish the album or I complete the mission and drop the album before the last show. I owe you all these memories we are building and anywhere we have missed to date we will be spinning back for sure. For All The Dogs October 6th. It’s only right…,” Drake wrote on Instagram. October 6 is the date of his first show in Toronto, the third-from-last show of the tour.

Unfortunately, that means that 21 Savage will not be present for the launch concert, or the next-day concert. Due to visa issues, Savage is not allowed to leave the United States. This means he has been unable to attend the various Canadian shows on the tour. It’s All a Blur ends in Columbus on October 9. Are you willing to wait until October 6 for For All The Dogs? How are you feeling about the album in general? Let us know in the comments below.

Kendrick Lamar Performs For Enthusiastic Crowd In Japan

It seems like every time this rapper steps out to perform, the results are absolutely electric for fans. Moreover, Kendrick Lamar recently hit up a stage in Japan, and though he was on the other side of the world from his home of Compton, he still captivated the audience. A clip recently went viral of the Mr. Morale MC performing his hit “N95,” and the whole crowd sang along perfectly to the sung intro before he even started rapping. What was once a slew of singing voices turned into a mix of people spitting his bars back at him and people cheering as he started to rap.

Furthermore, when the beat dropped, the stage lit up behind the pgLang creative, and viewers went wild for it. What’s more is that many of them didn’t stop reciting all the lines back to Kendrick Lamar as he went through the track. Sure, that’s something you see at a lot of rap shows, so the excitement on display is nothing new. Still, few artists can get a stadium or festival crowd screaming and rapping as loudly and passionately as the West Coast legend.

Kendrick Lamar’s Recent Japan Show

If you haven’t seen him perform live yet, don’t fret; performance moments from his tours and shows go viral quite often. As such, you’ve probably seen your fair share of clips, and if you’re going to Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival this year, you’ll get to witness it for yourself. Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem will deliver a joint set as The Hillbillies, with other big names like SZA, Ice Spice, Lil Yachty, and Clipse hitting the festival, too. Of course, this is a big opportunity for the 36-year-old to create something unique and special with his cousin.

Meanwhile, with over a year passing since the release of his last album, many wonder where the former TDE artist will go next. Maybe he’ll slow down his music releases in favor of something grander, or he’ll keep dropping top-tier hip-hop. In any case, there will never be a crowd that isn’t energized and awe-struck by his live presence. For more news and the latest updates on Kendrick Lamar, stick around on HNHH.

Lizzo Spreads Love From Shibuya Amid Drama With Former Dancers

Lizzo has previously broken the internet with her thirst traps on numerous occasions, but just a few weeks ago, it was unfortunately bad news that got the Special singer trending. A group of her former dancers launched a lawsuit against the Detroit native, specifically accusing her of creating a hostile work environment, as well as body shaming them. There were three women sharing their stories at first, but since then, the number has only grown. Their attorney has hinted at the case perhaps going to court in the future, though Lizzo seems focused on staying out of the drama and focusing on positivity.

As she awaits news of what’s happening next with her ex-employees, the multi-talent is spending some time overseas before summer comes to an end. According to her first Instagram post since her statement addressing the allegations, Lizzo is sending us love from Shibuya. On Friday (August 18), her feed lit up with a video reel showing off some of her favourite moments from her time in Japan.

Lizzo is Big in Japan

Never one to avoid standing out, Lizzo donned a vibrant yellow, blue, and green two-piece set to explore the city. The fabric’s texture left her looking comparable to a bug or sea creature, but still fabulous, nonetheless. She wore her light brown hair in messy space buns and shielded her eyes from the cameras flashing at her with oversized shades. The 35-year-old appears to be as happy as one can be under the circumstances, bringing much relief to those supporting her through this time.

Earlier in the week, those who chose to remain a part of Lizzo’s dance team shared a statement of solidarity with the “Truth Hurts” singer. “Thank you to Lizzo for shattering limitations and kicking in the doorway for the Big Grrrl & Big Boiii dancers to do what we love!” they wrote. Read what else the entertainers had to say about working with the embattled activist at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.
