Doja Cat Puts On Provocative Performance Of “Wet V**ina” At Coachella & Twerks Up A Storm

Coachella 2024 is now officially over. The celebrated and storied music festival had its second weekend of performances that went from April 19 to April 21. There were a lot of headlines that spawned from the festivities, including a new Ice Spice track dissing Latto, and Doja Cat putting on a multi-faceted headlining show. People were raving about it last week for its choreography, costumes and props, as well as the show-stopping energy from the California multi-hyphenate. It was also a bit of a twist and quite refreshing to see her not play just her biggest songs. Doja Cat wanted to highlight songs like “Wet V**ina,” for example and did she ever by twerking like a maniac.

Since the themes of the song include self-confidence while also embracing your sexuality and your desires, Doja made sure to shed light on that during the performance. In the full video below, she goes centerstage all by herself and rolls around in a mud bath. At around the 30 second mark is the part that most fans are going to want to see, though. Doja shook her rear end like no one was around, as she really embraced the raunchy nature of the song.

However, about a minute later 10 female back up dancers joined her onstage to get drenched in mud. Fans had nothing but positive reviews for the show and the “Wet V**ina” performance once again. One person writes, “She really has outstanding stage presence and knows how to rule the stage, it might be too “sexual” for some people, but I think that’s the point of the performance and I didn’t feel uncomfortable watching it. def top performance from this year.” Another adds, “My mind went blank when you performed it… Such an iconic performance.”

Tyler The Creator Speaks On Frank Ocean’s Elusive Nature During Coachella Set

Someone tell Frank Ocean to call Tyler The Creator, because it seems like he’s been lost for a long time. Ironically enough, among his last notable “public” appearances arrived on T’s 2021 album CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST for the outro of the track “LEMONHEAD” with 42 Dugg, on which he provided some spoken word. Needless to say, the Blonde crooner has had fans demanding a new album (or anything, at this point), for years now. It’s a notorious choice that his former Odd Future partner commented on during his Week Two set at Coachella on Saturday (April 20) following an incredible Week One showing.

“Y’all know this song?” Tyler, The Creator asked the crowd as the instrumental for his 2011 Goblin collab with Frank Ocean, “She,” played in the background. “Oh, sing the song, ’cause this n***a not coming out. We don’t… We don’t know where that n***a is, so… It’s on y’all. You know it?” Considering the special guests that T brought out last weekend (Childish Gambino, A$AP Rocky, Kali Uchis, and Charlie Wilson), plus Frank’s own controversial Coachella performance last year, many fans had hoped that this could be a big moment.

But at the end of the day, no one should be complaining about any of this. Frank Ocean didn’t suddenly disappear as a chronically online artist in the first place, and even though his absence definitely hits hard and receives legitimate qualms from his die-hards, who can really blame him for avoiding the spotlight as one of the best (and therefore most under-pressure and sought-after) artists today? As for Tyler, The Creator, who had mentioned using up all his phone calls for Week One, he did bring out another OF alum much to the crowd’s delight: Earl Sweatshirt. They performed their 2009 Bastard collab “A**Milk,” the first live performance of this track since 2014, and the 2013 Wolf standout “Rusty.” It was a very wholesome moment between two longtime friends.

“My motherf***ing brother,” the “CORSO” MC said of Earl. “Y’all n***as don’t know. I love this guy so f***ing much.” Considering how close and proud much of Odd Future seems to be to this day, we’re sure they have similar words for Frank, as well. Kid Cudi To Perform At Second Weekend Of Coachella

Kid Cudi has been enjoying a lot of well-earned success in the year of 2024. The Cleveland, Ohio multi-hyphenate helped bring some massive hype back to the genre at the beginning of the year. He dropped INSANO, his pushed back but still eagerly awaited album that a fair number of bangers. Then, just about a month later he delivered on his promise of a second set of tracks called INSANO (NITRO MEGA). That saw him go back to more familiar sounds from Scott Mescudi that we have come to appreciate him for. Additionally, the multi-talent is living up to that title, as he will have a role in the new Sonic the Hedgehog spin-off Paramount+ series called Knuckles.

According to multiple sources, he will play Agent Mason in the Sonic villain’s dedicated show. It is said to premiere on the streaming platform on April 26, 2024. So yes, Kid Cudi has a lot going on, but he can also add Coachella to that list now. The music and arts festival announced it just yesterday and he will be performing on the last day, which is Sunday April 21.

According to the schedule that Cudi reposted to his Instagram, he will be hitting the stage from 5:10 to 5:50. “INSANO BOY IS COMIN ,” Kid Cudi wrote. More specifically, it will take place at the Sahara Tent and he wants to know, “Who’s coming??” There is no clear indication on who he is replacing, but fans are certainly ready for the rage. One fan wrote back to Cudi, “No water bottles this time guys ” Another feels the same way, “Never had Coachella fomo till now…”

Doja Cat Tears Up The Coachella Stage With Thrilling “Demons” Performance

Coachella 2024 wrapped up its first weekend yesterday and Doja Cat was easily one of the best performers. The community of hip-hop fans and attendees seem to think the same, as her wildly creative and avant-garde sets were a major part of her success on stage. The pop rap mega star’s goofy and unapologetic personality has earned a lot of hate online as of late. But you can tell her imagination ran free when it came to putting this show together and fans have not been complaining about it in this case.

Numerous publications such as Variety, Rolling Stone, and Los Angeles Times have been raving about it as well, further hammering it home as one of the best parts of Coachella. One of Doja Cat’s sets that has been making the rounds online since last night has been her performance of “Demons” from Scarlet. People have been drawn to the crazy outfits her background dancers were donning, including Doja’s elongated blonde wig. Also making statements where her fellow performers, as they totally covered in blonde suits that made them look like ungroomed dogs.

As for song itself, “Demons” took on a more orchestral and somehow darker tone than the original. Fans in The Neighborhood Talk‘s IG comment section were loving the choreography and the passionate performance from Doja. “Doja right now is a CLEAR example of why I love this s***! If you can’t perform, if you aren’t in rehearsal, if you don’t have the creative direction you DO NOT love this s***!!!!!!” Another person adds, “Now that’s what you call an artist 10/10 song 10/10 performance.”

Metro Boomin & NAV Spin “Like That” At Coachella, Collaborators Show Love To Each Other On Stage

Even though Metro Boomin is not a rapper, fans are still going to flock to his live shows whenever possible. That proves just how massive the St. Louis producer has become over time, especially in the last year and a half. His 2024 has been nothing short of incredible already, dropping two albums in a matter of less than a month. Even though that is a big deal, especially due to how much quality is on each offering, what is even more incredible is how it has created this civil war in rap. One of the ways Metro Boomin has done that is by making “Like That,” which he played at Coachella alongside NAV.

The Toronto born rapper and singer was an April 14 performer at the 2024 installment of the legendary music and arts festival. NAV certainly had the raucous crowd going even crazier after bringing Metro onto the stage with him. As most know, these two have a longstanding friendship which dates back to the late 2010s. NAV is one a handful of artists to have a full album with Metro, being Perfect Timing back in 2017.

The self-proclaimed Brown Boy made sure to ask the fans to give Metro his flowers after cutting “Like That” short. “Make some f***ing noise for the G.O.A.T., my brother for life Metro Boomin!” The producer extraordinaire made sure to show love right back, saying, “Y’all make some noise for my brother NAV, the motherf***in’ Brown Boy!” It seems that the Canadian is still against Drake, after unfollowing him on social media just days after “Like That” dropped.

Nelly Performs For Near-Empty Stadium, But Some Fans Claim It Wasn’t An Actual Concert

If you take a look at the Instagram clip below, you’ll see Nelly performing for a small crowd in the general admission area, but for a virtually empty stadium. While a lot of folks are running with the narrative that Ashanti’s boo just failed to sell barely any tickets to his show, some folks in the comments of the post below pointed out that this might be a soundcheck. “I hate when people try to embarrass people. That clearly looks like a sound check to me,” one fan wrote, whereas The Game, of all people, had another way of looking at this.

“Nothing to see here,” the rapper wrote in the comments section of the IG post below. “He got paid probably 60-100K to perform even if it was only one person there. Sometimes promoters drop the ball on promoting shows so it’s not on bruh. Enjoy ya Sunday.” Whether or not you think this is an actual performance or a prelude to it, folks are certainly far too quick to criticize celebrities when they don’t meet the grand standards that they, and fans, set for themselves. Either that or they have fun with pregnancy rumors, and Nelly is no stranger to either.

Tyler The Creator Stuns At Coachella, Brings Out Childish Gambino & More Guests

Tyler The Creator continues to show why he’s among the best live performers working today, as his Weekend One set at Coachella this Saturday (April 13) was nothing short of incredible. He’s wanted to headline the festival for a long time, with his first performance at the event dating back to the heights of his Odd Future era in 2011 and another one taking place amid his blossoming as a more nuanced and mature artist in 2018. We won’t spoil the setlist here (just a small performance clip below), but it spanned the entirety of the Hawthorne native’s catalog and included tracks that even the most optimistic Golf Wang die-hards could never have predicted they’d hear again. Not only that, but there were many other reasons for why this performance definitely kept fans’ attention away from their phones as he had hoped.

First of all, Tyler, The Creator brought out four special guests for the occasion including Charlie Wilson, with whom he played piano and, on top of their performance, additionally covered an old R&B/soul classic for a brief moment that T sampled on one of his biggest hits. A similarly wholesome and gorgeous performance saw Kali Uchis hit the stage, who’s been collaborating with him for a long time. Also, fans rejoiced at the sight of A$AP Rocky joining his friend for two of their killer collabs. However, the most surprising guest of the night was Childish Gambino, and to see them dancing together on stage amid a whole lot of rap beef going on elsewhere was a truly meaningful treat. This is especially true considering that Tyler admitted to “hating” Donald Glover back in the day.

Nevertheless, this was also an amazing night for anyone who appreciates that extra mile that performers go to in order to truly make the most out of their stage and audience. For example, Tyler, The Creator burst out of a trailer in an explosive intro, and was later whisked away by the wind for the final song. On top of his consistently rapped verses, invigorating energy, charisma, and overall captivating performance, these stage set-ups and wiring tricks really set it apart from other shows from not just the Louis Vuitton designer’s history, but across Coachella as a whole. Fat Joe & Lil Kim Perform At The Apollo, Rap Diva Brings Out Signature Robot Moves: Watch

For the past few years, female rhymers have been holding things down in the hip-hop community, from big players like Nicki Minaj and Cardi B to rising stars such as Ice Spice and Sexyy Red. Before we met all of those artists, one woman was holding onto the title of the Queen of Rap – Lil Kim. The New York native pushed boundaries so that those coming after her would be free to express themselves fully and find success within the industry rather than be taken advantage of by executives.

Though she’s no longer rhyming as feverishly as we once heard her, Kim remains in the public eye and still knows a thing or two about performing. For instance, her dear friend Fat Joe tapped her to join him on stage at the Apollo Theater in New York City earlier this week, which she happily obliged. In the video below, the “Love Stick” hitmaker pulls out some of her signature dance moves, including the robotic motions she often goes viral for pulling out consistently over the years.

Kim’s fans are always happy to see her still in action, but critics still have much to say about the significant changes to her appearance over the years. “Personally, my heart hurts for this woman, and Black women in general when I see this video,” one Twitter/X user wrote, pulling out an old photo of Kim to compare to her notably whiter look in 2024. “We’re just lying to ourselves; the only thing I see is a Black woman in pain and nothing else,” they speculated. “I love when seasoned artists still have enthusiasm to perform,” someone else chimed in, praising both Joe and his friend.

Elsewhere in the Queen Bee’s world, Lil Kim’s been cozying up with a younger man who goes by Tayy Brown. Nicki Minaj & Jadakiss Surprise New Jersey Fans On “Pink Friday 2” Tour

Any jitters Nicki Minaj might’ve been experiencing before her Pink Friday 2 Tour are long gone by now as she continues to impress us with her powerhouse stage presence. On Thursday (March 28), the mother of one made a stop in Newark, New Jersey, where she had a few surprises in store for patrons of the show. As HipHopDX reports, East Coast drill icon Fivio Foreign markedly came out to spit his bars on their 2022 collab, “We Go Up,” which had the crowd going crazy.

Elsewhere, Minaj shared the stage with Jadakiss, someone who the Trinidadian credits with being an inspiration to her. Footage from the 48-year-old’s stint shows a relatively calm crowd watching him. As some social media users are pointing out, this could be because the “Anaconda” artist draws in a younger crowd of listeners than the oldheads who typically bump Jada and others of his time. Nevertheless, Minaj was grateful to the former Bad Boy artist for coming out to support her.

Kiss, thank you ,” Minaj added. On Friday (March 29), Papa Bear’s mom took over Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, and tonight (March 30) she’s got a performance lined up at Madison Square Garden. Big Sean Puts On A Passionate & Powerful Tiny Desk Appearance: Watch

If you have not been keeping tabs on Big Sean lately you might want to start hopping back on the bandwagon again. The proud Detroit, Michigan native has been quite silent since the release of Detroit 2 back in 2020. He did collaborate with Hit-Boy for a six-track EP What You Expect in 2021. But outside of a small dose of features, the hitmaker has been taking his time getting back into it. Last week though, it was clear that the rapper was on a mission. He put out two incredible tracks, “Anderson Estate Freestyle” on Instagram, and the ruthless braggadocious single “Precision.” To keep up the momentum, Big Sean made his first-ever appearance on NPR’s Tiny Desk.

He put on one of the longest shows ever, performing 14 songs. Sean went through his entire catalog, giving the live audience a look into each era of his music. From tracks like “One Man Can Change The World,” to “Beware” and “Bounce Back,” Big Sean definitely wanted to showcase his range. After performing “Nothing Is Stopping You” from you his second album Hall Of Fame, the MC took the time to give some background on his situation at the time, which was a difficult one for him.

“It was a stressful time for me because when my second album dropped it didn’t do as well as my first,” Sean said. “People was like, ‘sophomore slump its over for him,’ countin’ me out crazy. Then I was able to lock in and make my third album which was Dark Sky Paradise which was one of my biggest albums.” Big Sean then left the fans with some inspiring words before hopping into “Blessings” from that aforementioned LP. “The point of bringing that up is that don’t let people place they curse on you of what they want you to be or of who they think you are… wherever you at… there’s always a path to get to where you gotta go and anything you go through you grow through.”
