Fat Joe & Lil Kim Perform At The Apollo, Rap Diva Brings Out Signature Robot Moves: Watch

For the past few years, female rhymers have been holding things down in the hip-hop community, from big players like Nicki Minaj and Cardi B to rising stars such as Ice Spice and Sexyy Red. Before we met all of those artists, one woman was holding onto the title of the Queen of Rap – Lil Kim. The New York native pushed boundaries so that those coming after her would be free to express themselves fully and find success within the industry rather than be taken advantage of by executives.

Though she’s no longer rhyming as feverishly as we once heard her, Kim remains in the public eye and still knows a thing or two about performing. For instance, her dear friend Fat Joe tapped her to join him on stage at the Apollo Theater in New York City earlier this week, which she happily obliged. In the video below, the “Love Stick” hitmaker pulls out some of her signature dance moves, including the robotic motions she often goes viral for pulling out consistently over the years.

Fat Joe Surprises New York Crowd With Queen Bee Lil Kim

Kim’s fans are always happy to see her still in action, but critics still have much to say about the significant changes to her appearance over the years. “Personally, my heart hurts for this woman, and Black women in general when I see this video,” one Twitter/X user wrote, pulling out an old photo of Kim to compare to her notably whiter look in 2024. “We’re just lying to ourselves; the only thing I see is a Black woman in pain and nothing else,” they speculated. “I love when seasoned artists still have enthusiasm to perform,” someone else chimed in, praising both Joe and his friend.

Elsewhere in the Queen Bee’s world, Lil Kim’s been cozying up with a younger man who goes by Tayy Brown. It’s unclear what their current relationship status is, though we can tell the New York native has plenty of feelings. Read all about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news.

Diddy To Be Honored By Apollo Theater At Spring Benefit

Diddy is no stranger to accolades or honors. Fans and industry members alike continue to show admiration for his work even this far into his long and storied career. Now, Diddy will be receiving the Icon Award from the world-renowned Apollo Theater. In June, they will be holding their Spring Benefit gala in Harlem. Recognition from such a legendary theater is no doubt quite an honor, even for someone of Diddy’s caliber. However, the theater will not only recognize the rapper, as the Impact Award will also be presented to basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Additionally, the Apollo will honor Jonelle Procope, the CEO, for her twenty years of dedicated service to the theater. Furthermore, indie eyewear manufacturer Warby Parker will receive the Outstanding Leadership in Innovation, Diversity, and Global Community award.

The event will also play host to performances by MC Lyte, Wyclef Jean, and DJ D-Nice, who will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop with DJ sets. All tickets sold will benefit The Apollo’s performing arts, education, and community initiatives that serve 200,000 people annually. While Diddy has received numerous accolades, he also pays it forward to other rap superstars, such as DJ Khaled, who recently received a stunning new gift from him, as showcased in a video on Instagram earlier this month.

Diddy Pays It Forward

Diddy gifted his friend DJ Khaled a luxury golf cart earlier this month. In a video posted by Khaled to Instagram, the pair can be seen checking out the cart’s features. “Thank you [Diddy] love brother beautiful gift!!!!!!! Grateful! #LetsGoGolfing,” the DJ wrote in the caption of the post. Diddy spoke out on the gift, telling the world how proud he was of DJ Khaled’s work. “I’m so proud of my brother [DJ Khaled] for all the work he’s putting in on the golf course,” Diddy wrote. “Enjoy my gift to you! I had to find the flyest of the fly for my brother! This ain’t no regular degular golf cart!”

DJ Khaled teased a new golf-focused TV show last month, made with the help of Diddy and actor Mark Wahlberg. Several Instagram videos showed the DJ and Diddy playing golf. In one, “Juicy” by The Notorious B.I.G. plays in the background as Khaled takes a big swing. In another clip, Diddy praises Khaled’s golf game, and reveals that they have already filmed the pilot episode of the show. Furthermore, there is currently a bidding war for the rights to air the series. Looks like Diddy is staying booked, busy, and appreciated. What do you think of the new award from the Apollo Theater? And are you planning to watch Diddy and Khaled’s golf show? Let us know in the comments.

[WATCH] Cam’Ron and Lil Wayne Perform “Touch It or Not” At Apollo

Cam'ron Confirms There Are Talks About 'Paid in Full' Sequel

First performances from Cam’ron are becoming a thing. Over the weekend, Kill Cam hit the Apollo Theater stage and performed “Touch It Or Not” with Lil Wayne.

Weezy was in NYC for his tour, when he was joined by the Dipset legend to perform their street classic.

Earlier this year, also at the Appollo, Cam and Ma$e had a one-night-only show featuring Jadakiss at Harlem’s Apollo Theater and performed their “Horse And Carriage” hit for the first time n their careers.

“Imma keep it a hundred: I ain’t do this song in so long. So Imma just act like y’all know it and do a little bit of this,” said Cam’Ron.

Mase went on to say, “Yo, we never got to perform this song. We never got to perform this.”

Drake Recreates Apollo Show At Super Bowl Party, Cardi B Also Performs

It’s Super Bowl Weekend, and Drake just recreated his now-iconic Apollo Theater performance at a pop-up party. Moreover, the event took place at Hanger 1 of Scottsdale Airport, and also featured a stellar performance from Cardi B. Also, there were a whole slew of celebrities in attendance who caused quite the stir of their own. As Drizzy took the stage, he shouted out his “brother Zach” and said promoters originally asked him for a couple of songs for 20 minutes. Moreover, he said since Zach missed the Apollo show, he asked fans if they’d rather hear the classics. Of course, they roared and cheered, and his show got started.

Furthermore, Cardi B also performed, although it seems she also did another event at W Hotels. Still, maybe they’re all part of the same umbrella, and are definitely all part of the same weekend-long party. Tomorrow (February 12), the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles with a halftime spectacle from Rihanna. As such, there were a lot of celebrities in attendance last night (February 11), most notably Cher and boo AE Edwards. While their relationship is one of the more polarizing online, you can’t deny it’s also one of the most eye-catching.

Meanwhile, Winnie Harlow came through in a beautiful and creatively cut denim jumpsuit. However, not everyone’s fashion choices were as beloved, as Rich the Kid rocked the viral Big Red Boots from MSCHF. Also in attendance were Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox, the former in what looks like a tight Care Bears top and black leather pants. Fox, on the other hand, wore a black dress and even matched MGK’s pink sunglasses with a pink hand cast.

However, even Serena Williams made it to the bash. Of course, this should raise eyebrows for any Drake fan given his recent disses on his album Her Loss. On the track “Middle of the Ocean,” he called her husband a “groupie” for seemingly little to no reason. If anyone can get away with these kinds of bars, it’s Drake, but it was odd to see Serena witness her former flame. Who knows what awkward interaction might’ve happened. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest news on Drake and what Super Bowl Weekend will bring.

[WATCH] Cam’Ron and Ma$e Perform “Horse & Carriage” For The First Time At Apollo Theater

Screen Shot 2023 01 30 at 11.17.10 AM

Last year, Ma$e and Cam’Ron made amends after their longstanding Harlemite feud dating back to the late 90s, that only became more inflamed with the shooting deaths of Big L and Baby J during that era. Last week, Cam and Ma$e had a one-night-only show featuring Jadakiss at Harlem’s Apollo Theater and performed their “Horse And Carriage” hit for the first time n their careers.

“Imma keep it a hundred: I ain’t do this song in so long. So Imma just act like y’all know it and do a little bit of this,” said Cam’Ron. Mase went on to say, “Yo, we never got to perform this song. We never got to perform this.”

Cam’ron & Ma$e Perform “Horse & Carriage” At Apollo Theater

Cam’ron and Ma$e teamed up to perform their classic collaboration, “Horse & Carriage,” at the Apollo Theater in New York City on Saturday. The two originally released the song nearly 25 years ago.

“Imma keep it a hundred: I ain’t do this song in so long,” Cam’ron said on stage. “So Imma just act like y’all know it and do a little bit of this [dance].”

Ma$e added: “Yo, we never got to perform this song. We never got to perform this.”

Jadakiss also performed at the event, billed as a part of the venue’s 2022-2023 The Next Movement season. The Apollo describes the series as “an exploration of what’s new, now and next in music, dance, art and ideas.”

Earlier in the night, Jadakiss paused the show to address Harlem directly.

“Listen Harlem: when SNS drop this shit, act like wherever you was at when you first heard this shit when it came out,” he said. “Don’t go over the balcony but fucking go crazy. This has never been seen before. This shit right here is a NFT. Whatever a NFT is, when y’all do this song, it’s a NFT!”

Sheek Louch and Styles P also made appearances during the show to perform their verses from DMX‘s “N****z Done Started Something.”

Cam’ron’s performance at the Apollo comes just a week after his last appearance at the venue. Drake welcomed him to the stage during one of his shows at the iconic Harlem venue.

Check out a clip from Cam’ron and Ma$e’s performance at the Apollo below.
