Doja Cat Tears Up The Coachella Stage With Thrilling “Demons” Performance

Coachella 2024 wrapped up its first weekend yesterday and Doja Cat was easily one of the best performers. The community of hip-hop fans and attendees seem to think the same, as her wildly creative and avant-garde sets were a major part of her success on stage. The pop rap mega star’s goofy and unapologetic personality has earned a lot of hate online as of late. But you can tell her imagination ran free when it came to putting this show together and fans have not been complaining about it in this case.

Numerous publications such as Variety, Rolling Stone, and Los Angeles Times have been raving about it as well, further hammering it home as one of the best parts of Coachella. One of Doja Cat’s sets that has been making the rounds online since last night has been her performance of “Demons” from Scarlet. People have been drawn to the crazy outfits her background dancers were donning, including Doja’s elongated blonde wig. Also making statements where her fellow performers, as they totally covered in blonde suits that made them look like ungroomed dogs.

As for song itself, “Demons” took on a more orchestral and somehow darker tone than the original. Fans in The Neighborhood Talk‘s IG comment section were loving the choreography and the passionate performance from Doja. “Doja right now is a CLEAR example of why I love this s***! If you can’t perform, if you aren’t in rehearsal, if you don’t have the creative direction you DO NOT love this s***!!!!!!” Another person adds, “Now that’s what you call an artist 10/10 song 10/10 performance.”

Kai Cenat Left Unimpressed By Doja Cat’s New Song “Demons”

Kai Cenat has been crushing it on Twitch over the last few years. Overall, he is the biggest star on the platform, and he is on the verge of breaking into other forms of media. From music to movies, it really does seem like Cenat can do it all. However, he has not been without his fair share of controversies. For instance, he ran into some issues in regard to his giveaway that took place in New York City last month. Numerous people were arrested, including Cenat who will have to face some sort of punishment.

Kai Cenat Reacts

Overall, it seems like Kai wasn’t feeling the track too much. Instead, he just sat in silence and seemed a bit disturbed by all of the demonic energy. He eventually got up and danced it all out of his system. It was a funny clip that speaks to how a lot of people feel about Doja’s new direction. Although a lot of people like it, some people just aren’t made for the whole devil thing. While this new satanic panic is overblown, this kind of imagery still will not be for everyone.

Regardless of how Kai feels about the song, it doesn’t take away from the fact that Doja Cat is still dropping her new album on September 22nd. It promises to be a huge release, and will likely be a chart-topper. Let us know your expectations for it, in the comments section down below. Doja Cat Goes Full Demon In New Viral Pictures

Doja Cat has been leaning into controversial imagery more and more recently. After some fans complained about the playfully demonic imagery in the early singles from her new album Scarlet she doubled down. The third single from the album is literally called “Demons” and fans were fittingly upset that it’s demonic and satanic. They called out the album cover for its imagery and Doja herself hit back hard. “Y’all so b*tchmade you probably couldn’t make it through an episode of ‘Goosebumps’, f*ckin p*ssies,” she said in an Instagram post directed at them.

Doja Cat dropped the music video for the song overnight. It features her dressed up as a demon haunting the dreams of Yellowjackets actress Christina Ricci. While that unsurprisingly resulted in some backlash from fans, it wasn’t even the most controversial or viral thing she dropped last night. She shared some new pictures online that show her demon look in much more detail. Fans had a pretty stunned reaction to where Doja went with her new look. “Nah this is crazy,” reads one of the top comments on the post. “How tf we get here from the cow song,” another fan hilarious observes. Doja Cat Channels Baby Keem With New Single “Demons”

Doja Cat has been very adamant about wanting to change up her style. Overall, she has mostly been known for her pop-rap styling. This has also included forays into R&B from time to time. However, Doja is looking to get rid of the pop label. Now, she wants to be a much edgier artist who is known for taking risks. Moreover, she is looking to ditch some of her pop fans who she believes have fallen for a “lesser” style of music.

This is all well and good, although fans felt like tracks such as “Paint The Town Red” were just yet another extension of what she’s already been doing. With her new album Scarlet dropping on September 22nd, fans want to see something a bit different. Well, on Friday, that is exactly what she gave us with the track “Demons.” This song had actually leaked on Twitter already, however, we now have the full version right in front of us.

Doja Cat Brings The Energy

Interestingly enough, the track sounds like something you would hear from the likes of Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar. From the horn sections to the flows, there is a lot of “Melodic Blue” in here. Although, Doja puts her own spin on which leads to a pretty cool track. There are some great flows here and the lyrics are what you would expect from this new, edgier version of Doja.

Doja Cat Spooks The Hell Out Of Christina Ricci In Her Terrifying New ‘Demons’ Video

We are just weeks away from Doja Cat’s upcoming fourth studio album, Scarlet. Though this hasn’t been the smoothest album rollout for Doja, Scarlet looks to be one of the more interesting releases of the year — especially as we hear Doja experiment with a variety of sounds. On her latest song, “Demons,” we get to hear her tap into her rock bag.

“Demons” features Doja positioning herself as one of the best in the game, as she dismisses controversies and criticisms.

“How my demons look / Now that my pockets full / How my demons look / Now that you b*tches shook,” she raps, approaching the chorus softly, then leaning into a scream, showing off her rock chops.

In the accompanying visual, Doja is seen in the bedroom of Christina Ricci, crawling on the ceilings, scaring the daylight out of her. Ricci attempts to make an escape, but can’t outrun Doja.

None of the songs Doja has released from Scarlet thus far have sounded the same. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Doja described her upcoming effort as a “fun canvas” for her to experiment with her sounds.

“This new album is more introspective, but I’m not leaning so hard into that to where it becomes boring,” Doja says. “So I want to give stories and bops. It’s a nice mixture of both.”

You can listen to “Demons” above.

Scarlet is out 9/22 via RCA. Find more information here.

Doja Cat Seemingly Called Out ‘B*tchmade’ People Who Can’t Handle Her ‘Demons’ Promo Or ‘An Episode Of Goosebumps’

Doja Cat is gearing up for the release of her next song, “Demons,” but she also isn’t holding back from those who can’t handle the scariness of the video or the vibes, it appears.

“Y’all so b*tchmade you probably couldn’t make it through an episode of ‘Goosebumps’, f*ckin p*ssies,” she shared in her Instagram story.

Over the past few weeks, she’s been leaning into the aesthetic on social media, with gory, red-themed photos. Her tour date poster also features a selfie where she appears to be covered in fake blood.

Many of the commenters weren’t pleased and were creeped out. “Not going to devil worship show,” one person wrote.

Others understood the horror references and came to Doja’s defense. “This is so clearly a Carrie reference y’all are sad,” another added.

“Demons” is expected to drop this Friday, with a rumored music video starring scream queen (and Wednesday Addams herself), Christina Ricci.

Doja, however, has recently faced pushback from fans who were turned off by her persona shift, as it now takes on a sarcastic tone regarding her fanbase. “nobody forced you idk why you’re talking to me like you’re my mother b*tch you sound like a crazy person,” she told one fan who pointed out that they’re the ones that support her career.

Doja Cat’s Newly Announced ‘Demons’ Single And Latest Tattoo Has Users Online Begging Her To Step Away From The Dark Side

When Doja Cat returned from her brief musical hiatus with a new single, “Attention,” few could have expected the wave of controversies that would soon follow. For weeks, the public has criticized Doja for her rumored relationship with J Cyrus, her latest body art, and more. But even after losing over $250,000 followers on Instagram, she has no regrets. In fact, she recently revealed that she finally feels free to be her true self.

Despite this, Doja’s remaining fans’ concerns have continued to grow. Her newly announced single and her reported new tattoo aren’t helping to ease any of their anxiety. Following her previously shared track, “Paint The Town Red,” Doja is reportedly gearing up to drop her next single, titled “Demons,” soon. In the cover art for the song, Doja appears to be sporting black body paint from head to toe as she walks a ceiling.

After Doja shared images of her anatomical bat tattoo, fans called the piece demonic. Doja quickly clapped back with a history lesson before replying, “Your fear is not my problem.” To troll people who continued to criticize her, in her video for “Paint The Town Red,” she appeared side-by-side with the grim reaper. A screenshot captured by Saycheese showed another new tattoo, this one of a scythe behind her ear.

Fans immediately chimed in after the images were shared by the outlet. One wrote, “She needs to stop at this point.”

Another said, “She’s not even looking healthy, and she’s continuously making herself look more scarier.”

“Someone should check on her,” added another.

Doja Cat hasn’t spoken about her latest body modification, but with The Scarlet Tour starring her set to start soon, don’t be surprised if her extensive collection grows further.

Doja Cat Debuts New Tattoo Alongside Chilling Teaser For “Demons” Music Video

Doja Cat’s got a new tattoo. The hitmaker showed off her new ink, which comprised the image of a scythe that curves behind Doja’s ear. It’s a fitting piece given the abundance of death-related imagery that appears in the music video for her latest single, “Paint The Town Red”. At the time of writing, the song has peaked at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100. It’s a major bounce back from her other single of 2023, “Attention”, which peaked at #31.

Both singles come as Doja prepares to release her new album, Scarlet. While a release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, it is expected to drop before the end of fall. Scarlet is Doja’s studio album, and her first since 2021’s Planet Her. That project once again highlighted her massive rise. Just five years ago, her debut album, Amala, peaked at #138. However, her last two albums have been top-ten hits, with Planet Her peaking at #2. Could Scarlet take her to the top of the charts?

Doja Gets Spooky

However, a new tattoo wasn’t the only thing that Doja showed off this week. She also dropped a still from the music video for her next single, “Demons”. The pair of images are top-down shots of Doja sitting huddled in a bath tub filled with black liquid. A monstrous hand can be seen gripping the back of her. Furthermore, in the second image, Doja’s eyes are opaque white. It’s a nice play on the traditional possession imagery. For example, in the CW show Supernatural, demon possession was shown through opaque black eyes.

Additionally, Doja has recruited some true horror royalty for the music video. Christina Ricci will reportedly appear in the video alongside Doja. Perhaps best remembered as the 90s Wednesday Addams, Ricci’s horror cred go far beyond that iconic role. She also appeared in Sleepy Hollow, Monstrous, Netflix’s Wednesday, and Yellowjackets. Furthermore, she produced and starred in the short-lived Lizzy Borden Chronicles. Be sure to watch out for the drop of “Demons” in the near future.
