Swizz Beatz’s Health Scare Had Doctors Saying He’d Never Walk Again

Swizz Beatz is one of the most revered hip-hop producers in the genre, and it’s crazy to think that his career might’ve been wildly different at one point. Moreover, he recently appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show and spoke on a health scare earlier in his career that made doctors think he’d never walk again. Furthermore, said scare occurred because, to put it simply, the Bronx native was just working too hard. However, he remarked how he was able to rise above and continue developing his now legendary career, and how that experience gave him a different perspective.

“When you come from nothing, and you finally get success, [you] get a piece of what you thought you could never get from your surroundings,” Swizz Beatz told Hudson. “We just have a habit of going hard as men, you know, and it caught up to me. I remember staying up for four days straight just over-pushing it. It messed up my immune system — I had spinal meningitis. And I remember going to the hospital, and the doctor was cold. He was cold as ice.

Swizz Beatz’s Career Almost Faced A Massive Obstacle

“As soon as I walked in, he said, ‘okay, you might not die, but you’ll never walk again,’” Swizz Beatz continued. “That was the first thing they said to me when I went into the hospital. But I was in so much pain, I was like, ‘Let’s get on to it.’ But, Alhamdulillah [Praise be to Allah], I came back, and I beat the odds with that one. And now, I try to take my health a little bit more serious.” What’s more is that this isn’t the only surreal story the 44-year-old recently told.

“Man, honestly, it don’t even feel like [DMX] is gone,” he told The Breakfast Club. “It just feels like he’s away, somewhere chillin’. And then the anniversary will come around or I’ll speak to his fiancée or I’ll speak to his son and I’m like, ‘Whoa.’ Or I’ll see a video or I’ll scroll through my phone and see pictures and it’ll hit me. But the thing that makes me feel easy about it is he came to me. I seen him in my dream. He came to me. And this was, like, super quick too. And he let me know he was good. I’m the person that is like, ‘He ain’t come to see you, what you talkin’ about?’ I seen him. Swizz Beatz recently shared news of a health scare he faced at the beginning of his career that nearly caused him to never walk again.

The award-winning producer stopped by The Jennifer Hudson Show where he revealed early on in his career, he once worked himself to near-paralysis.

Flo Rida Fails To Appear For Family Court

Flo Rida has had a string of trials and tribulations these past few months. In March, his 6-year-old son Zohar accidentally fell out of a 5-story apartment building. The 50-foot fall caused tragic injuries for the young child. According to Flo Rida’s ex-wife, Alexis Adams, Zohar suffered, “a shattered pelvis, left metatarsal fractures, Grade 3 liver laceration, internal bleeding and collapsed lungs.” Not only that, she filed a lawsuit against Pitch Perfect 74, LLC, Goldberg Management – the landlord that owns the complex where her child nearly lost his life. Since then, Adams has also called out Flo Rida who is reportedly refusing to pay Zohar’s medical bills.

Moreover, Flo Rida was reportedly ordered to pay for their disabled child’s medical bills and wellness in a 2018 court-mandated child support agreement. However, The “Get Low” rapper is seemingly evading his fatherly duties at this time. His son, Zohar, has autism and has a rare condition called hydrocephalus. Furthermore, Flo-Rida posted a sentiment regarding his son on his Instagram saying, “I am just so grateful that my son is alive, fighting, and is still here with me. He’s a real-life superhero.”

Flo Rida Wants To Appear In Court Through Zoom

In the wake of their son’s tragic accident, Flo Rida is still giving pushback. The “Good Feeling” rapper failed to appear in NYC Family Court Tuesday, instead opting to attend through Zoom. Safe to say the judge was less than thrilled. While Flo Rida was ordered to pay for 100% of Zohar’s medical bills, that has not been the case. Recently, Flo was awarded over $80 million in an energy drink lawsuit. However, Alexis requested the judge order the rapper to put $400,000 in a bank account to help pay for various expenses for their son.

Although his ex-wife was able to plead her case, the judge was not trying to hear what the Florida rapper had to say. The judge declined Flo’s motion to appear via Zoom. Alexis’s attorney Dror Bikel told TMZ, that while the rapper was enjoying 80 mil his son was on Medicaid (Wild). His ex-wife claims that Flo Rida has never met his son Zohar. Fat Joe Wants To Fix Healthcare Prices

Fat Joe is normally one to let folks know to pay what it cost. As he infamously said in a viral Instagram video, “Yesterday’s price is not today’s price!” However, he has a different perspective when it comes to healthcare. Earlier this week the Terror Squad ring leader tapped a few of his rap contemporaries to do something about unfair hospital pricing. Joe’s linking up with Busta Rhymes, French Montana, and Rick Ross to perform in Washington D.C. to raise awareness for more transparency in hospital billing.

Additionally, Fat Joe is partnering with Power to the Patients to put the event together. Joe’s worked with the organization that targets and helps with hidden healthcare fees, before and even starred in a public service announcement they released last year. Not only that, the Don Cartagena spoke about the need for healthcare reform and his decision to work with Power to the Patients in a statement from The Hills In The Know. He told the outlet, “Our healthcare systems need comprehensive reform and I remain committed to using my platform to work alongside Power to the Patients and give a voice to the voiceless.” Moreover, Fat Joe spoke on the need for more transparency from healthcare providers so patients can get a transparent understanding of the cost of their medical bills.

Fat Joe Is A Man Of The People

Recently, TMZ caught up with the “Lean Back” rapper as he made his way to Capitol Hill. The gossip blog documented Fat Joe’s speech as he addressed the congregation as a proud Bronx native. The rapper gave credit to his borough and his community saying it protected him. Along with that, he also made note that the people within his community both Black and Brown oftentimes don’t have their voices heard. He compared their cries to a “dog howling at the moon.” Later he mentions that it’s the Black and Brown people that are affected the most when it comes to unfair healthcare pricing.

Toni Braxton Opens Up About Medical Emergency

Toni Braxton has had some pretty serious health scares in recent years. Additionally, TMZ caught up with the R&B icon to get an update on how she’s doing. The singer shared her survivor story after recently going through life-threatening heart surgery to unclog a main heart artery. Moreover, Toni Braxton told the gossip blog that she learned important lessons about taking care of your body. The star has the most prevalent form of lupus, systemic lupus erythematosus. Not only that, in a previous interview the songstress revealed her artery was 80% blocked.

Imagine not knowing one of your main arteries is almost completely BLOCKED? Accordingly, Toni revealed that she has been hospitalized on more than one occasion. She also said she sees the importance of regular health check-ups. However, the R&B legend conceited that she never took it seriously enough. When TMZ caught up with Toni Braxton, she told them she was just happy to be out and about since her surgery in September.

Since the passing of her sister Traci last year due to cancer, Toni told the publication that she took the loss hard. She was so deep in mourning that she let her own medical checkups fall to the wayside.

Nevertheless, Dexter has been putting in the work with his sobriety, and his music. He recently posted a snippet on his Instagram of a single that attracted much attention from his fans. In his caption, it reads, “3k comments and I’ll drop it now on God!!” The post racked up thousands of comments. Many of his supporters expressed excitement and happiness to hear new music from the Chicago native.

Famous Dex Is Healthy and Happy

While Dex may not have dropped the full snippet, as promised, fans still have new music to be excited for. Upon his release from rehab, Famous Dex announced that he was working on the next installment of the highly acclaimed album series Rich Forever. The “Japan” rapper made note of the workings of Rich Forever Five after being 11 months sober. He, Jay Critch, and Rich The Kid make magic on a track together. Recently, Dexter took to Instagram to reflect on his newfound health. He posted on his story with a caption that read, “Feels good to be happy an[d] healthy I can’t lie.” It appears Famous Dex is enjoying his sobriety and healthy living.
