This Wednesday, August 16, tickets will go on sale for Gucci Mane & Friends, a one-night-only concert in Atlanta featuring the trap rap godfather and several of his frequent collaborators, as well as artists from his label, The New 1017. The show is billed for October 17th at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, coinciding with the release of Gucci’s new album, Breath Of Fresh Air. While the guest list is apparently being kept under wraps for the time being, considering Gucci’s long list of contemporaries, peers, and pupils, it’s sure to be star-studded and worth the surprise.
Artists currently signed to The New 1017 who might make appearances include BiC Fizzle, BigWalkDog, Enchanting, Hotboy Wes, KATO2X, Li Rye, Lil Zay, Mac Critter, Sett, and TLE Cinco. Unfortunately, Foogiano and Pooh Shiesty are both currently incarcerated while Big Scarr died last December from an accidental overdose. Meanwhile, former artists or acts that have collaborated with Gucci include OJ da Juiceman, Young Scooter, Peewee Longway, and Migos, while Gucci has most recently collaborated with up-and-coming talents like Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch and Nardo Wick, Kodak Black, and 21 Savage, so any number of the above names could put in appearances.

Gucci Mane seems to have lived nine lives and is now reflecting on them all. The “So Icy” rapper’s career has had many ups and downs. All of which Big Guwop referred to in his music. As his life moves forward, it makes sense that he can reflect on the past as well. With “Now It’s Real,” Gucci not only enjoys the spoils of his success but also offers advice to the younger generation of rappers.
In the accompanying video released on YouTube, Guwop’s opulent lifestyle is on full display — complete with luxury cars, expensive jewelry, and designer clothes. His children also appear in the video, adding a heartwarming touch. As he recounts his time in prison, Gucci Mane contrasts it with his success today. A federal prison sentence was handed down to the rapper in 2014 for firearms charges. He was later released in September 2016.
Gucci Mane’s new track will presumably appear on his upcoming album, Breath Of Fresh Air. The project is scheduled to be released later this fall in October. While there has been no tracklist released as of yet, the rapper did share the album’s artwork via Instagram. The cover sees a polished Gucci, with his lady Keyshia Ka’oir Davis and their two children Ice and Baby Iceland. Almost reminiscent of a family photo, the cover hints that Gucci has fully embraced his next stage in life as a husband and father.
Gucci Mane announced the project back in July, along with following up with the project’s first single, “Bluffin” featuring Lil Baby. In a recent interview with Zane Lowe, he opened up about what inspired him to take this new direction on his work. He noted that the deaths of various peers had a profound effect on him. “Ever since, I guess November of when Dolph passed away and my artist Scarr passing away and TakeOff passing away and Pooh locked up and Foo locked up, that’s why I kind of named my album a Breath of Fresh Air,” he explained.

Gucci Mane has been keeping it coming with the bangers this summer. Tonight (August 11), Guwop has shared the latest from his upcoming album, Breath Of Fresh Air — a victorious anthem called “Now It’s Real.”
On “Now It’s Real,” Gucci celebrates a life of sobriety, and he is thriving following the transformations he’s made. Over his career, Gucci has seen many successes but remains even more focused having made the changes necessary to maintain his longevity.
“I could’ve been in prison with a hundred years / Yet I woke up in a mansion with two hundred mill’ / Had to let go of the lean and get off the pills /…Used to dream of livin’ like that but now it’s real,” he raps on the song’s chorus.
In the song’s accompanying video, Gucci is seen hanging out by the pool with his kids, rocking a heavy chain. Viewers also see a highlight reel of performances and festival appearances, reminding everyone that he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

Last week, graphic designer @kyaxcheeks made a very funny meme. On July 21 (the day Oppenheimer and Barbie made their theatrical debuts in the US), she tweeted, “If it was ’09, I know @gucci1017 would’ve dropped the tape today. #Oppenheimer.” The tweet included fake cover art for a Gucci Mane single called “Woppenheimer,” a song that had not been publicly announced at the time. The meme got a lot of attention, including from Gucci himself: Today (July 28), the rapper actually shared a new song called “Woppenheimer” and even used @kyaxcheeks’ mock-up as the single’s cover art.

Gucci Mane works on his jump shot — and takes shots at certain internet personalities — in his new video for “Bluffin” with Lil Baby, which kicks off the rollout for Gucci’s new album, Breath Of Fresh Air. “Bluffin” is a boastful track that finds Lil Baby and Gucci taking turns challenging competitors to call their bluffs, assuring them that they’re definitely holding winning hands. Gucci’s verse makes fun of old, washed-up, out-of-shape rappers (a nod to his commitment to getting fit) and denounces motormouthed music manager Wack 100 for talking too much on internet interview shows.
The press release for the album and song notes that “Bluffin” is Gucci’s fourth single of 2023 after “Pissy” with Roddy Ricch and Nardo Wick, “06 Gucci” featuring DaBaby and 21 Savage, and “King Snipe” with Kodak Black. It also offers a pre-release link for Breath Of Fresh Air which is due on October 13th via Atlantic Records/The New 1017 Records. Gucci Mane has been coming at us with nothing short of consistency so far in 2023 when it comes to his music. He previously began the year with “King Snipe” alongside Kodak Black. Next, he appeared on Big Scarr’s posthumous project with “Trappin N Rappin.” Since then we’ve also heard the southern superstar team up with BigWalkDog and Lil Zay before returning to his roots on “06 Gucci” featuring 21 Sav and DaBaby. That joint effort was met with an abundance of praise from hip-hop heads. Thankfully, it’s since been followed by more heat from Mane.
