Snoop Dogg Starts His 4/20 Celebrations With The Forgetful Anthem ‘Left My Weed’
Today is April 20, which of course marks one of the most widely observed unofficial holidays: 4/20. Naturally, Snoop Dogg will be celebrating the occasion and he got things started early with a new album, From Tha Streets 2 Tha Suites. The project features some songs about smoking, most notably wrapping up with “Left My Weed,” a collaboration with J Black and Devin The Dude.
On the narrative tune, Snoop begins by describing an unfortunate situation at a party:
“Yeah, pull up to front, party going live / Everybody happy when the Dogg arrive / […] Reaching in my Louie bag / Tryna find that King Louie stash / Yeah I’m ’bout to do em bad / Baby wanna take a flick / I’m like, ‘Cool, make it quick ’cause I still can’t find my sh*t’ / Reach a little deeper, now I’m mad / No weed in the party, all bad / I’m in the parking lot, heading to the whip / Cuz now this party ain’t sh*t.”
J Black also comes through on the hook, “I can’t believe it, believe it / I do this sh*t every time, damn / Get so very high and forget / What I needed, I needed / Did one of y’all see if I, damn / Searching like CSI, yeah / ’cause I f*cked around and left my weed.”

Mt. Westmore’s Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Too Short, And E-40 Performed Their First Track As A Group
Back in December E-40 and Too Short revealed that they would be joining forces with fellow West Coast rappers Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube to form a rap supergroup. The announcement came after E-40 and Too Short’s Verzuz battle. There was no official name for the group when the news was shared during an interview on The Breakfast Club, and since then, things were rather quiet in terms of music or news from the quartet. All of that changed at Triller’s Fight Club event on Saturday night, when the group, which now bears the title of Mt. Westmore, performed their first track as a group together.
Before the group took the stage, Ice Cube kicked things off by performing “It Was a Good Day” and “You Can Do It” before handing the mic off to Snoop Dogg for a solo set that included “Gin & Juice,” “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” and his newest track “CEO.” After this, a quartet appeared onstage as E-40 and Too Short joined in to complete the Mt. Westmore collective where they performed “Big Suberwoofer,” the first track from their soon-to-be released album.
During the interview on The Breakfast Club, Too Short revealed the group’s motivation were only for the culture and not money. “We just some OGs; everybody got studios, and facilities and rap beats,” he said. “It’s something I feel we’re doing this for hip-hop. You could be doing it for the bag. Nobody don’t need the bag!”

Snoop Dogg Joins The Cast Of Jamie Foxx’s Netflix Vampire Hunter Movie
There are so many elements about the headline above that make me so happy, but the details behind it (courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter) make me even happier. There is the fact that Netflix has a vampire hunter action thriller coming out called Day Shift, where the main character’s cover is that of a pool cleaner. There is the fact that the pool cleaner is played by Jamie Foxx in full “girl dad” mode. I was already all the way in, but then they went ahead and added Snoop Dogg to it. Give it to me now. Right now.
The film’s the directorial debut for J.J. Perry, a seasoned second-unit director on films like John Wick (yes), The Fate Of The Furious (yes), and Bloodshot (oh no), so we can be reasonably well-assured that the action scenes will be on-point — and really, isn’t that all you want from a Jamie Foxx vampire hunter/pool cleaner flick? The script, written by Tyler Tice, was discovered at a screenplay competition, so it can’t be all bad, and the cast, which includes Dave Franco, Eric Lange, Karla Souza, Meagan Good, and Zion Broadnax, among others, seems strong enough to support the admittedly kinda silly concept.
There are a lot of ways this could go wrong, but I’m choosing to remain positive because if nothing else, there is the possibility of watching Snoop Dogg react to a vampire attack to look forward to, and “Snoop Dogg reacting to things” is a genre with a wealth of fun moments — especially if the things turn out to be supernatural and unusual. Also, Jamie Foxx’s last Netflix action flick Project Power (in which he was again in full “girl dad” mode) was really enjoyable, as is his current ’90s-style sitcom on the platform, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me (do you see the theme developing?).
There’s nothing on when Day Shift will hit streaming, but turnaround on Netflix films is usually pretty quick so expect to see this one out at a theme appropriate time — say, Halloween.
