Drake Joined Backstreet Boys On Stage To Perform ‘I Want It That Way’ Because Why Not?

As a result of being one of music’s biggest stars, Drake has been able to do a lot of random and interesting things in his life. He created the Sanctuary Basketball League (SBL) that runs games in his mansion, and so far, he’s a 2-time champion. He threw a dinner party on the 50-yard line at SoFi Stadium after he won artist of the decade. In his latest act, Drake took to a concert stage in his hometown of Toronto to perform with a legendary pop band: Backstreet Boys.

Drake accompanied the band for a performance of “I Want It That Way” at a recent concert in Toronto. However, before they began the song, Drake shared how impactful “I Want It That Way” was for him. “I really wanted to come out here tonight — I saw my brother at a restaurant the other night, and I was telling him that when I was in high school — I wasn’t even in high school yet, it was junior high and I was 13 years old,” Drake said. “I was an awkward kid. I was in love with this girl at the time…and she paid me no mind. But at 13 years old, I had a thing called a bar mitzvah…and at my bar mitzvah, for the first time in my life, this girl who I was in love with came up to me while one of the greatest songs of all time played.”

He continued, “She asked me if I would dance with her to the song. It was the first time I ever felt acknowledged — like I had a shot at being cool. The song that she wanted to dance with me to was one of the greatest songs of all time — it’s one of the greatest songs ever made.”

Drake’s $1 Million Bet For Israel Adesanya To Win UFC 276 Is The Rapper’s Latest Big Wager

In the last few months, Drake has made it clear that he has no issue wagering big money on sports or at the roulette table. It’s not too surprising as he’s one of the music’s most popular artists, thus giving him a comfortable cash supply to pull from for his big bets. It was just last month that Jack Harlow revealed that he lost a lot of money trying to keep up with Drake’s betting ways at the Kentucky Derby. In his latest move, Drake revealed that he bet $1 million in favor of Israel Adesanya to win UFC 276 on Saturday.

Drake shared the news about the bet through a recording of a FaceTime call between him and Adesanya. In the video, he says that he put a “light million” in favor of Adesanya and noted that he has a “deep deep respect” for the fighter. Drake also requested to walk Adesanya out for the Saturday night fight and the fighter complied. “One of the most inspiring guys to me,” Drake wrote in the caption of the Instagram post. “The death note author himself and my partner with @stake @stylebender BIG FIGHT TMRW…got a million on it [shrugging emoji].”

In just the past few months we’ve seen Drake place a $1 million bet for the Los Angeles Rams to win the Super Bowl and a $200,000 bet for the Golden State Warriors to win the Western Conference Finals, both of whichwere successful

You can watch the FaceTime call, which ends with an Honestly, Nevermind reference, in the video above.

Denzel Curry Is Disappointed In Drake And Kanye West For Making ‘Subpar Work With The Resources They Have’

Back in mid-May, Denzel Curry stirred the pot by expressing his disappointment in Drake’s Certified Lover Boy and Kanye West’s Donda, tweeting, “Donda and CLB could’ve been better yall n****s rich and got the greatest musicians at your disposal.” Not only is Curry not backing down on that take, but in a new Spin interview, he actually doubled down by going into more detail about what he meant.

Citing Take Care and If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late as example of the sort of Drake level of quality he hopes for with a new album, Curry said:

“I was looking forward to Drake’s album, ’cause Drake always got something. But then, when you get them albums, you’re like, ‘What the f*ck are you doing?’ […] We don’t even really need to talk about Kanye West, it’s Kanye West. But for them to go out and go against each other and make that subpar work with the resources they have. These are the same producers it’s hard for me to reach out to because they don’t see the return. You’ve got all these resources and y’all made subpar albums. I had limited resources and I made a great one. That shouldn’t happen.”

Drake is continuing to run up the numbers with his new album Honestly, Nevermind. According to Billboard, one in every 60 on-demand streams of music belonged to the 6ix God.

The release of the new album boosted his numbers and currently is responsible for 1 out of every 100 on-demand streams. In the first week of release, Drake earned 251.7 million on-demand streams.

Drizzy’s new album Honestly, Nevermind has placed three singles in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. Of those three, Drake has taken the No. 1 spot with the 21 Savage-assisted “Jimmy Cooks.”

“Jimmy Cooks” is the more traditional single of the Drake album, leaning on his normal formula of a bravado bar, Day 1-loving banger. However, two additional singles crashed the Top 10 party, “Sticky” arrived at No. 6, and “Falling Back” hit No. 7.

“Jimmy Cooks” is produced by Vinlyz, Tay Keith, and Cubeatz and becomes Drake’s 11th No. 1 single. His last effort to hit the top was “Way 2 Sexy,” which featured Future and Young Thug from the 2021 Certified Lover Boy album.

Drake launched 13 tracks into the list this week.

If you like Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind or not, there is no denying The Boy. The first full Dance album from drake will debut on top of the Billboard 200.

According to Billboard, Honestly, Nevermind debuts with 204,00 album-equivalent units in the first week. The debut makes Drake the fifth act with more than 10 No. 1 albums. He trails The Beatles (19), JAY-Z (14), Bruce Springsteen (11), and Barbra Streisand (11).

Honestly, Nevermind has 250,23 million on-demand official streams with 11,000 album sales and TEA units of 2,000. The album has the fourth-largest streaming week for an album in 2022. The highest-streamed single on the album is “Jimmy Cooks,” featuring 21 Savage.
