Coi Leray Says There Are No Friends In The Industry & Rap Is A Competition

Coi Leray recently sat down for an enlightening conversation with Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1’s Rap Life Radio. On it, they discussed a whole host of topics, ranging from her brand new sophomore album to industry relationships. While the Boston native remarked that a lot of industry people know each other and stay at least amicable, she doesn’t believe that there are any true friendships in the industry. Rather, it’s still a competition at the end of the day, but she didn’t seem to suggest so in a disloyal or backstabbing manner. Instead, Coi emphasized that this should be a friendly competition, and that genuine connections can form.

“I mean, look, the other side of it is, you know, everybody ain’t got to be friends, but we can all be positive,” Ebro remarked. “One thousand percent,” Coi Leray agreed. “Nobody’s friends, we don’t know each other in real life, you feel me? If we meet in person and, you know, we have a genuine relationship from there organically, then whatever. But I don’t think no one’s friends. I think, at the end of the day, it is a competition here, not everybody can be number one. But at the same time, it should be friendly competition. If we all on the same track team, and it’s time to race, and we practicing, I’m dusting you even though you my right hand. But it’s time to race, we got practice. But respectfully, you know? That’s how I look at it.”

Coi Leray’s Remarks On A Competitive Industry

Interestingly enough, another topic of conversation that came up in the interview was Latto’s line about the “Bops” hitmaker’s body on “Put It On Da Floor.” As she remarked on the situation and her reaction, she alluded to similar themes. “It’s not a sensitive conversation,” Coi Leray reflected. “I feel like it wasn’t more about the body, it was more of mentioning my name. I’m about positivity. For real. And I wasn’t sure where it was coming from. And not only that, I feel like the problem with our community today is we be so quick to try to change things but we don’t do nothing to actually change anything.

“So if we’re going to say we’re going to stop talking about bodies, then don’t mention anything about my body,” she went on. “Just period. Don’t compare me to nothing, don’t think about nothing. We’re not smoking on anything, it’s disrespect. And where I come from I just don’t like that. I don’t know, it’s starting to get old. The rap beefs are for the guys. You know, I don’t even think they should do it. Us artists, we kind of control the narrative. So if we just spend more time pushing that narrative we won’t give these headlines and these blogs no reason to go ahead and push this negative narrative. That’s something we got to come together on.” For more on Coi Leray, stick around on HNHH.

Ma$e Thinks Cam’ron’s Friend Whose Teeth Fell Out Is A Famous Rapper

On their sports show It Is What It Is, Cam’ron, Ma$e, and Treasure Wilson have built up quite the following, reputation, and empire at this point. However, as much acclaim as the two have gotten for their insights and banter, sometimes it can veer away from the traditional sports talk. Moreover, in a clip where the table seems to be discussing Ja Morant’s suspension, Killa Cam brought up a story about an old friend whose teeth were falling out. When he started to tell it, Ma$e couldn’t help but laugh as he thought of one specific Dipset member who also struggled with that: Juelz Santana. Still, Cam didn’t budge and said that he wasn’t talking about any famous rapper that they would know.

“Listen man, I’ma tell you something, man,” Cam’ron told Ma$e. “I had a friend, right? I won’t say no names. N***a teeth falling out and s**t, right. His mom came…” he said before the two erupted into giggles. “It’s a true story, listen, it’s an old friend- no, I’m just saying, no, seriously!” Cam continued. “I know who you talkin’ about! You said his teeth falling out, everybody gonna know who he is,” Ma$e said while laughing.

Cam’ron & Ma$e Giggle Over The Former’s Mystery Friend’s Teeth Struggles

“No, I ain’t talking about him,” the Dipset member clarified. “I’m not gon’ say names, but I’m not talking about any members out of the group or anything. His teeth falling out and the n***a mom come out, she say, ‘Why y’all keep giving him candy?’ N***a’s 26 years old. ‘Y’all keep giving him candy, you know his teeth.’ The n***a 26!” Overall, it was quite the hilarious clip from Cam’ron and Ma$e, especially considering how much they were giggling at each other.

Meanwhile, Metro Boomin recently had some high praise for It Is What It Is, whether from an analysis or entertainment standpoint. “#ItIsWhatItIs the best sports show out and my favorite thing to watch on YouTube,” he tweeted. “Cam & Ma$e got a real gem 4shooooo and can’t forget #statbaby too. Whole show 10/10 and makes my day every time they drop a new episode.” For more news and the latest updates on Cam’ron, Ma$e, Treasure “Stat Baby” Wilson and It Is What It Is, stay logged into HNHH.

King Von’s Friend Recalls How Lil Durk Wouldn’t Give Von $50 To Buy Him Clothes

The legacy of King Von lives on today and will continue to do so, whether through his musical impact or the testimonies of those closest to him. While that legacy is subject to slander and narratives that displease his loved ones, they are there to defend the late rapper and set stories straight. However, this case is more of a curious story than anything else. Moreover, his friend J Hood recently reflected on some good times with the Chicago MC, particularly when he wanted $50 to buy Hood some clothes. When Von asked close friend Lil Durk, Hood claimed that Durk wouldn’t give a stranger some of his bag.

“I ain’t got no tight money, n***a, my money tight,” Hood remarked about his experience with Smurk and King Von. “You feel me? So Durk walk in, the man got a rack. I’m talking about crazy money. And Von like, ‘Aye bro, let me get fifty dollars. I’m ’bout to go take Hood to the mall to get folk some new clothes and whatnot.’ That n***a whispered- on my life. Real truth. And so, he straight whispered to him, ‘I don’t know that n***a.’ Fifty dollars! That Von said he was gon’ give him back. Not that he was just- n***a, he had a rack, do you hear what I’m saying? He rich, millionaire. Millionaire!”

Lil Durk Allegedly Refused To Give King Von $50 To Buy His Friend Some Clothes

Whether you agree with The Voice’s reasoning or not, this was apparently when Von himself was just starting up as an artist. As such, it’s understandable that he would be asking for favors in these cases while displaying the character necessary to keep his word. In addition, it’s even commendable that the “Don’t Play That” rapper would want to treat his friend to some fresh drip. Not everyone has that sense when they feel fame approaching.

Regardless, he went on to develop an illustrious and beloved career that saw a tragic end. In the years since, many dedicated their tales to how he was before the fame and gave more illuminating portraits of his perspective and life. Considering that situation, Durk was surely proud of him for reaching the point to where, if he wanted to buy a friend some clothes, he had the resources to do so on his own. For more updates and the latest news on King Von and his legacy, come back to HNHH.

Finesse2Tymes Criticized For Gift To Friend Who Took Charges For Him

Finesse2Tymes recently picked up his friend who took charges for him from prison, giving him a gift that has people split on social media. Moreover, the Memphis rapper picked up his now free friend on his first day out with $5K and a lot of new sneakers. While he clearly expressed a lot of gratitude and happiness for coming home to his colleagues with gifts, many on social media didn’t agree. Furthermore, a lot of people were critical of the seemingly insufficient gesture. Considering Finesse’s own prison time, it’s no doubt that he knows what people would appreciate after coming out.

“11 years for 5k!!!” one user commented. “’Your honor I will tell you where all the bodies are,’” joking that it wasn’t worth not cooperating. “Well if that’s what happened he in fact did get finessed two times,” another added. Even though Finesse has been busy releasing new music since his release from jail, many thought he could’ve done more. “5k ain’t even enough to convince me NOT to call the cops on you…” another user expressed.

Finesse2Tymes Gives Gift To Friend Who Took His Charges

However, many aimed to clarify the situation on social media and defend Finesse’s good will, as it could just be something to show the media and not the whole effort he’ll put into setting his friend up comfortably for his loyalty. “At least he came home to 5k n somebody helping him some people come home with nothing but papers,” one user expressed. Another wrote, “The man clearly said in the Video he had to go straight to the halfway house. When u go there it’s only so much u can have and take there.” While the rapper faced his fair share of altercations recently, it’s clear he wants to give back to his entourage.

Like the previous comment, many pointed out that this probably won’t be the end of 2Tymes’ gratitude. “I would HOPE he knows he gone be straight and taken care of IRL the shoes and cash was just for MEDIA IMAGE,” another user expressed. Sure, some are skeptical, but the only one who can assess the value of the rapper’s thankful actions is the friend in question. Regardless, check out our interview with Finesse2Tymes here and return to HNHH for the latest from the Memphis rapper.

Paul Rudd Explains Why He Shouldn’t Have Been In The “Friends” Finale

Paul Rudd is taking the world by storm with his role as Scott Lang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Now, he’s reminiscing about his career. Before he became the household name that he is thanks to popular franchises like Anchorman and Ant-Man, Rudd was in Friends. During his time on the show, he played Mike Hannigan in seasons 9 and 10. Mike was Phoebe’s boyfriend and eventually her husband. He shared recently that he didn’t think the show should have included him in the finale of the show.

Roughly twenty years after the finale aired, Paul Rudd was interviewed by The Heart’s breakfast show. There, he shared that he didn’t think he should have been included in the series’ final episode. It was the fifth most-viewed series finale of all time. Rudd spoke highly of the surreal experience of joining Friends toward the end of the show’s time airing. He explained that being a part of the last episode was incredibly overwhelming for him. Check out the part of the interview where he discussed this below:

Paul Rudd On Heart’s Breakfast Show

He said, “The whole thing was a bit surreal, I must say, to be a part of that — because I came on really at the end… I never knew that I was going to be in as many [episodes] as I was. But it also felt strange. I was in that last episode, and I just thought, ‘I shouldn’t be here. I’m getting a front-row seat to things I’m not supposed to see.’ They were all crying, it was all emotional, and I was just like, ‘woah!’”

While Rudd wasn’t on the show until its last two seasons, Mike Hannigan remains one of the series’ most beloved additions. He was a former attorney with negative views on marriage. Joey (Matt LeBlanc) introduced Mike to Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) after he forgot to find someone to set Phoebe up with. Mike responds to Joey’s random call for a “Mike?” in Central Perk, and the rest is history. Mike and Phoebe’s romance became one of the primary aspects of Phoebe’s character wrap-up on the show. Rudd is an iconic part of Friends, even if he doesn’t entirely think so.

Kodak Black Addresses Fake Love & Not Having Friends On IG Live

Kodak Black recently rambled on Instagram live about having fake friends and love in the industry. Moreover, he spoke quickly and bluntly about his issues and his emotions concerning others in the rap game. Also, as he looked down at his phone camera with seemingly a joint between his fingers, he expressed frustration in a pretty calm way.

“I got no homeboys, I ain’t got no friends, I don’t need no friends. F**k ya, b***h. All you n***as wanna be like me anyway. All you n***as be fake like you f**k with me, like I’m your dawg. [You] be behind my back, hatin’ on me, want my drip, want my energy. [You] wanna be able to rap like me, wanna be able to stunt like me, wanna be able to act like me, wanna be able to walk or talk like me. Know what I’m saying? Since I was young, since I was a git, since I was a baby. I’ve seen every one of you f**k n***as be around me trying to imitate me and duplicate me. You know what I’m saying? F**k ya, b***h.”

Praise For Kodak Black Despite Fake Love

While Kodak might feel justified in his issues and indignation, he did recently receive glowing praise from a leader of the culture. Furthermore, Charlamagne Tha God recently called Kodak the “GOAT,” comparing him to Kendrick Lamar in the same light. “I look at Kodak Black the same way I look at Kendrick Lamar,” the host and commentator remarked. “I’m not even joking. I feel like they’re both two different levels of prolific. They’re telling similar stories, just from different places. They’re just two different versions of the same kid from the hood.”

Meanwhile, Yak actually responded to Charlamagne’s comments, and the Kendrick connection isn’t flimsy given the Florida rapper’s contributions to his album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. “APPRECIATE EVERYBODY,” he posted on Instagram after Charlamagne’s take went viral. “MEANS SOOOO MUCH TO ME.” Even though some people might not see the comparison, it still reflects the impactful, albeit controversial, career of the “Super Gremlin’ MC. Regardless, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on Kodak Black and fake industry love.

Lil Durk Seems To Target Gunna With Video Of Young Thug

Lil Durk appeared to be calling out Gunna on his Instagram Story, Sunday, after sharing a video from Young Thug. Gunna recently accepted a plea deal in the YSL RICO case and is no longer in prison.

“Just because you lost me as a friend, don’t mean you gained me as an enemy,” Thug says in the video. “I still want to see you eating, just not at my table.”

Durk captioned the clip: “Just know who y’all is just be easy keep the noise complaining down.”

The post comes after Durk, and many other associates of Thug, unfollowed Gunna on social media. Durk also seemed to be dissing Gunna in a recent snippet of an unreleased track, in which he raps, “What happened to Virgil he probably gon’ tell.”

The two rappers previously collaborated on the 2022 hit, “What Happened to Virgil.”

After Gunna accepted the plea deal, his attorney, Steve Sadow, quickly took to Instagram to address any snitching allegations.

“Gunna did not snitch to get out of jail,” Sadow wrote at the time. “He has said nothing and is not cooperating. His plea statement cannot be used in court against any other defendant. So please stop spreading lies.”

Gunna himself also denied the rumors, sharing a statement to the media: “While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way.”
