Chris Brown Receives $2 Million Lawsuit Over Popeyes Chicken Loan

As if his dog attack lawsuit wasn’t enough, now Chris Brown has another bizarre case to attend to in court. Moreover, the filing comes from a bank that allegedly loaned him money to purchase two Popeyes Chicken locations, according to The Blast. City National Bank filed the lawsuit in the singer’s state of residence, California, and detailed that the loan went to a group of individuals. Interestingly enough, apparently The-Dream is caught up in this as well, although no details emerged as to what he will have to be accountable for. “As of February 17, 2023, Borrower and Guarantors owe $2,140,901.74 in unpaid principal and interest,” the suit states, adding that the bank has sought this repayment since 2018.

Furthermore, given that this is a collection case, Chris Brown will probably be forced to pay this amount promptly. That’s because, with the nature of the case in mind, City National Bank won a default judgement against the Virginia native. As such, it looks like they’re not concerned about too much else other than just retrieving their cut of the cash. Still, if he wants to challenge this, it may be more of an uphill battle than he might expect.

However, none of this legal drama compares to the artist drama that the “How We Roll” star engaged with recently. For those unaware, Tinashe recently ruffled some feathers by expressing regret over collaborating with Chris Brown. This prompted him to claim no one’s even able to name five songs of hers, and many others came to his defense. Just as many people championed the Kentucky singer and her honesty.

Meanwhile, during a recent on-the-street conversation with TMZ, Tinashe said that this all blew out of proportion. She’s open to having a conversation with the 34-year-old and hashing things out, as her comments weren’t as antagonistic as they seemed in headlines. We’ll see if that pans out into anything positive in the future or if they’ll go their separate ways for good. Regardless, check back in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on Chris Brown.

Eminem’s Ex-Wife Received $615K Loan From Rapper’s Company For New House

Kim Mathers, the ex-wife of Eminem, reportedly received a loan of $600,000 from the rapper to buy a new home. According to property documents obtained by The Sun US, Mathers received a loan of $615,000 from Shady Games Inc., which is owned and founded by Eminem. Mathers used the money to purchase a four-bedroom home in Macomb, Michigan. She received the loan in December 2022 as she prepared to move out of the custom mansion bought for her by Eminem some years ago. Mathers sold that home for $1.35 million in March 2023.

The move shows the progress that the exes have made since their rocky marriage in the late 90s and early 2000s. Over the past few years, Eminem has attempted to make amends for his behavior in a number of ways. While this has included traditional reconciliation methods, Eminem also expressed his regret in his 2017 song “Bad Husband”. The pair are reportedly set to see each other at their daughter’s upcoming wedding.

Record Label Wanted Mark Wahlberg To Replicate Eminem

MT. CLEMENS, MI – MARCH 26: Kim Mathers appears in Macomb County Circuit Court March 26, 2007 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. However, a loan to his ex-wife is not the only headline the Detroit rapper has been involved in this week. In a recent interview, Mark Wahlberg revealed that he quit the music industry because his record label wanted him to emulate Eminem. “They continued to push me further in the opposite direction, that’s when I decided not to make another record and to wait out my contract. Could I have been Eminem? I certainly hope not. I like Eminem, I think Eminem’s really talented, but I’m trying to go a completely different route.” Wahlberg had had a #1 single in “Good Vibrations” as part of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. However, Interscope wanted Wahlberg to replicate the aggressive style and subject matter of the Detroit rapper.

Furthermore, Wahlberg wanted to avoid such a path given where his life was at the time. Wahlberg’s attempt to break into the music biz came after a brief stay in prison. In the late 80s, Wahlberg had been sentenced for the violent assault of two Vietnamese men. At the time, Wahlberg claimed that he had been under the influence of PCP when the crimes occurred. However, it’s not the only link between Eminem and Wahlberg. According to an interview earlier this year, Eminem was the first choice for the role in The Fighter that would eventually go to Wahlberg.

King Von’s Friend Recalls How Lil Durk Wouldn’t Give Von $50 To Buy Him Clothes

The legacy of King Von lives on today and will continue to do so, whether through his musical impact or the testimonies of those closest to him. While that legacy is subject to slander and narratives that displease his loved ones, they are there to defend the late rapper and set stories straight. However, this case is more of a curious story than anything else. Moreover, his friend J Hood recently reflected on some good times with the Chicago MC, particularly when he wanted $50 to buy Hood some clothes. When Von asked close friend Lil Durk, Hood claimed that Durk wouldn’t give a stranger some of his bag.

“I ain’t got no tight money, n***a, my money tight,” Hood remarked about his experience with Smurk and King Von. “You feel me? So Durk walk in, the man got a rack. I’m talking about crazy money. And Von like, ‘Aye bro, let me get fifty dollars. I’m ’bout to go take Hood to the mall to get folk some new clothes and whatnot.’ That n***a whispered- on my life. Real truth. And so, he straight whispered to him, ‘I don’t know that n***a.’ Fifty dollars! That Von said he was gon’ give him back. Not that he was just- n***a, he had a rack, do you hear what I’m saying? He rich, millionaire. Millionaire!”

Lil Durk Allegedly Refused To Give King Von $50 To Buy His Friend Some Clothes

Whether you agree with The Voice’s reasoning or not, this was apparently when Von himself was just starting up as an artist. As such, it’s understandable that he would be asking for favors in these cases while displaying the character necessary to keep his word. In addition, it’s even commendable that the “Don’t Play That” rapper would want to treat his friend to some fresh drip. Not everyone has that sense when they feel fame approaching.

Regardless, he went on to develop an illustrious and beloved career that saw a tragic end. In the years since, many dedicated their tales to how he was before the fame and gave more illuminating portraits of his perspective and life. Considering that situation, Durk was surely proud of him for reaching the point to where, if he wanted to buy a friend some clothes, he had the resources to do so on his own.
