Donald Trump Trial: Man Sets Himself On Fire Outside Courthouse

Today, chaos unfolded outside of the Manhattan courthouse where Donald Trump’s trial is taking place. The former president has pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records in relation to the alleged $130K payment he’s accused of making to adult actress Stormy Daniels. Allegedly, the payment was made in exchange for Daniels’ silence on an alleged affair, which Trump denies.

Around the time that the jury was empaneled, and just before a lunch break, a man set himself on fire outside of the courthouse. The man was reportedly located in a designated protest area when the act took place, and several witnesses looked on in horror. At the time of writing, it remains unclear whether or not this was directly related to Trump or the trial. Law enforcement sources tell NBC News that the man appeared to be an alleged follower of unspecified conspiracy theories and that he may have also been struggling with “emotional issues.”

A 73-year-old witness named Dave from the Upper West Side saw the shocking incident unfold, and says he watched the man throw various pamphlets before picking them back up again. “I heard this clattering,” he recalled. “That caught our attention. Then he pulled out a can.” From there, the man reportedly poured something on himself and took out a lighter. “There I thought, this could be awful,” Dave also explained. “I’m old enough to remember the Vietnam War.” According to Dave, the man then lit himself on fire and was quickly engulfed in flames.

Another witness, freelance photojournalist Ed Quinn, says he heard someone shout that the man was getting ready to start the fire. “I see him dumping gasoline on his face, very deliberately,” he described. “He had [a] gray t-shirt on. It soaked his face. It soaked his shirt. Boom, he went up.” According to NBC, the man was sent off in an ambulance in critical condition. What do you think of the latest development in Trump’s trial? Before settling in with his family to eat delicious food and unwrap heartfelt gifts, the athlete opted to give back to the community of Baltimore with an impressive purchase. Rather than expanding his collection of luxury jewelry and designer clothes, Davis bought a block of apartments in his hometown, with plans to renovate them into affordable housing options for locals in need.

Just hours after the 29-year-old happily celebrated his plans to make the world a better place, disaster struck. As Essentially Sports reports, a fire lit up the building Davis had just purchased, though firefighters seem to have since brought the chaotic situation under control. The boxer’s trainer, Calvin Ford, posted a clip of the scene on Instagram on Friday (December 22), showing smoke bellowing from the windows.

Gervonta Davis’ valiant attempt to aid his community might not have gone over as planned, but at least other stars are having better luck with their holiday plans. Jenny Bui, who works as Cardi B’s nail artist in the Bronx, has spoken out after police arrested her husband for starting a fire that destroyed her salon. Speaking with ABC 7, Jenny pleaded for her husband, Billy, to get a second chance. His attorneys have argued that he didn’t start the fire in hopes of committing insurance fraud but instead out of stress and frustration while under the influence of alcohol.

“Give my husband one more one more chance, he’s a good man,” Jenny said. “He said he was stressed and I didn’t question him because there’s too much going on already.” Jenny’s Instagram page boasts over a million Instagram followers, including other celebrity clients in addition to Cardi.

He added that his client was working in the store from 2 in the afternoon until 4 the next morning and suffered a mental breakdown from the stress. They lost over $100,000 in supplies in the fire. “The remorse that he has, he understands that it’s Jenny’s business, it’s her baby and these people are personal to her,” Crosland said.

Cardi B’s Nail Tech Suffers $100K Damage In Shop Fire

Recently, it was reported that nail artist Jenny Bui lost her NYC shop after a fire tragically destroyed the property. Sadly, Bui had just recently moved all of her items from her previous shop to that location, and was planning on hosting a grand opening soon. Bui, who’s known to do Cardi B’s nails, says that the news was devastating.

She says that upon hearing the horrific news, she felt as though she was “about to pass out.” Luckily, neighbors were close by to offer her support and a few words of encouragement. “They said, ‘it’s okay, Jenny. We’re all going to help you,’” she revealed. Bui shared that since she had just recently moved the shop, she had not yet transferred her insurance to the new location. Bui also says the fire caused around $100K in damage.

Jenny Bui Speaks On Her Nail Shop Burning Down

Now, Bui has now been met with an outpouring of support from fans on social media. Many are even calling for her celebrity client Cardi to help her get back on her feet. It’s uncertain whether or not the “Bongos” performer will address the situation, but clearly she’s loyal to the nail artist. Back in July, she responded to some claims a different nail tech made about her, saying they were false.

The nail tech said that she had turned down an opportunity to do Cardi’s nails in favor of keeping her appointments with existing clients. “YALL HAVE TO UNDERSTAND, MY clients deserve to be serviced,” she wrote. “I’ve canceled before for a celebrity and regret it because i lost those clients.” Cardi responded simply, writing, “GIRL WHO ARE YOU ?” Hopefully, Bui’s shop will be back up and running sometime soon. Section Of Philly’s I-95 Collapses After Fire

Yesterday, Philly drivers were surprised to find a section of their Interstate collapsed. I-95 was trending nationwide on Twitter after the stunning structural failure. According to CBS Philadelphia, a vehicle fire underneath a section of the Interstate ultimately led to its collapse. Reports claim that the fire came from a tanker holding 8,500 gallons of gasoline. Observers posted to social media about the black smoke and flames they could see rising up from the accident.

The fire reportedly began around 6:30am. Even more than 12 hours later teams were reportedly still clearing the scene trying to get to the tanker underneath. Thankfully, it appears nobody was injured in either the fire or the collapse. No casualties have been reported yet as a result of the accident. A stretch between exits 32 and 26, totaling about six miles is closed as a result. It isn’t clear yet what the plan is for repairing the section of interstate but public transport and detours have been set in place in the meantime.

Shutting Down I-95

Concerns go deeper than just the roads for Philly residents. Concerns over air quality followed the fire as dangerous chemicals were released into the air and picked up by the wind. The warning reminded fans online of New York’s recent air quality concerns following fires in Canada. The incident caused dozens of images of New York looking distinctly orange to go viral. Another event that people were reminded of was the 1996 tire fire which also resulted in extended highway closures. Though that fire was done by an arsonist, it doesn’t appear that arson is in consideration as a motivator for this fire.

Like with any major event, onlookers were quick to take their observations to Twitter. Many locals expressed difficulty getting to work/school on time as a result of the collapse. While others who don’t live in Philly jokingly wished they could use it as an excuse themselves. People also shared dozens of eerie videos of the incident featuring cars stopped on the highway and a massive plume of black smoke emerging from it. On Tuesday (May 9), Blueface shared a video on his Story revealing the damage done by Chrisean at their residence. As a fire alarm blared in the background, the 23-year-old is seen walking calmly through the house. “What the f*ck is wrong with you?” he asked her. “The f*ck is she gonna do with a newborn baby… Man, child protective custody gonna have a ball with you. Man, you making this very too much easy,” the “Thotiana” hitmaker nonsensically added later on his profile.

It remains unclear exactly what transpired between the embattled lovers offline to lead up to the near disastrous incident, though it’s clear the younger of the two was certainly in her feelings at the time.
