Christmas was another holiday behind bars for some stars like R. Kelly, Tory Lanez, Harvey Weinstein, and Joe Exotic. TMZ was able to grab ahold of their holiday spreads.
At North Carolina’s FCI Butner Medium I, R. Kelly was served Cornish Hens, cream of broccoli, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, glazed carrots, dinner rolls, and pecan pie. Meanwhile at Texas’ FMC Fort Worth, Joe Exotic enjoyed Baked Cornish hens, bread stuffing, macaroni and cheese, carrots, chicken gravy, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, and holiday pie.
Harvey Weinstein is housed at New York’s Mohawk Correctional Facility where he had Baked chicken breast, seasoned chicken gravy, steamed white rice, steamed kernel corn, dinner rolls, margarine, and a ice cream sundae. Tory Lanez had Pineapple glazed ham, carrot and pineapple salad, mashed potatoes, beef gravy, mixed vegetables, dinner roll, ice cream, and blueberry crisp at the California Correcitonal Institution Tehachapi.
Last month, Tory Lanez has dropped a new video promoting the deluxe edition of his album, Alone at Prom. The video features a claymation figure resembling famed court reporter Meghann Cuniff.
Cunniff was thrust into the spotlight with her coverage of Lanez’s trial in the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. Her claymation character reports on the fictional ’80s character Ashton Rain.
The video came across Cunniff, who wondered what fans thought: “Hmmm what do you all think? Me or nah?”
Thanks to a new TMZ report, we know how a couple of celebrity convicts like Tory Lanez and R. Kelly are spending their holidays behind bars. You might’ve caught similar coverage around Thanksgiving, as the end of a criminal case in pop culture by no means diminishes public interest in it. Sure, this is admittedly quite the voyeuristic approach, but also one that reminds folks of people’s humanity and mind state during a time in which we’re looking for joy and healing. Whether it’s Cornish hens, cornbread, or gravy, Christmas provided a silver lining for these folks. Hopefully they continue to hold themselves accountable for their crimes and can grow past their history.
Furthermore, Tory Lanez got quite the menu at California Correctional Institution Tehachapi. Reportedly, he received carrot and pineapple salad, pineapple-glazed ham, mixed vegetables, beef gravy, mashed potatoes, a dinner roll, ice cream, and a blueberry crisp. As for the rapper and singer’s current legal status, we recently got to see a new picture of him behind bars. Regardless of all the drama and conflict surrounding his conviction, he put on a smile and is hopefully having the best time he can while doing his time.
In addition to Tory Lanez, we also got reports of what R. Kelly got for his Christmas meal at FCI Butner Medium I in North Carolina. This included Cornish hens, cream of broccoli, mashed and sweet potatoes, gravy, glazed carrots, cornbread dressing, dinner rolls, and a pecan pie. However, when it comes to his time in the pen, it seems like he is facing more uphill battles than expected, although the deservedness of this is hard to deny. For example, the R&B artist sued prison workers and Tasha K for allegedly being part of a scheme to leak information concerning his case.
Meanwhile, you can check out the “Via” link below to see meals for Harvey Weinstein and more. At these facilities, they will often do special activities or get-togethers for the holidays to give inmates some form of reprieve. As some of these cases continue to develop, we hope that these meals come with newfound retribution and reflection this season. For more news and updates on Tory Lanez and R. Kelly, come back to HNHH.
Nicki Minaj recently sat down for a very enlightening interview with Joe Budden, one that finally cleared up one of her new album Pink Friday 2‘s most memorable lyrics. “Stay in your Tory lane, b***h, I’m not Iggy,” she rapped on the cut “FTCU,” a pointed reference to both artists’ working relationship, collaborative history, the letter that Azalea wrote in support of Lanez, and possibly a Megan Thee Stallion diss. Given how much this bar stood out, we’re not surprised that the Slaughterhouse MC wanted to dive deeper in. When Joe asked, the Trinidadian rapper turned the question on him to see if his interpretation is on the right track.
“Well, it could be shade to a few people,” Joe Budden began. “Without saying if you think the shade is in mind, what do you think the line itself means?” Nicki Minaj clapped back. “‘I’m not one of them,’ that’s what I think it means,” he replied. “And I think it was a clever way to say that.” “Yeah! Thank you,” she responded, although she seemed comically taken aback by his laughter right after. “I really appreciate me getting a compliment from Mr. Buddens! I’m taking it.” “I liked your last album!” Joe hilariously defended, to which Nicki said that even she doesn’t like that album.
Elsewhere, she also spoke a little bit more on Queen indirectly via social media on Friday (December 22). Moreover, Nicki Minaj provided her “honest ranking” of all her albums on Twitter, which may surprise folks. “Ok here’s my honest ranking,” she began. “1. Pink Friday 2. 2. The Pinkprint. 3. QUEEN. 4. Pink Friday. 5. Pink Friday Roman Reloaded (The Re-Up). But I truly respect all gag city resident opinions. What the albums mean to you is your own truth based on where you were in your own life.” Considering that the 41-year-old apparently doesn’t even like Queen, this insinuation that she doesn’t like Pink Friday might be the reason she wanted to make whatever she wanted to make on its sequel.
Nicki Minaj Ranks Her Albums
Meanwhile, these comments on the Tory and Iggy bar are interesting considering other comments during this interview on her appreciation for female rappers. Surely the coming days and weeks will bring us more revelations and statements in this vein from someone so connected to their fanbase. We can’t wait to see how the new year shapes up for the Queen. Even though the Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez shooing case was resolved earlier this year in court, it’s still a matter of public fascination. Megan has recently returned to music with a new single and some big soundtrack cuts. But that has also caused fans to take a renewed interest in the case. Despite all of the evidence proving Tory guilty in court and leading him to be convicted to 10 years in prison, there are many online with their own conspiracy theories about the trial.
Those particular fans got some drama to feast on over the weekend. That came when one of Megan Thee Stallion’s former bodyguards made a seemingly innocuous post on Instagram that went viral. The post caught on because the Tory Lanez and DaBaby song “SKAT” was shared alongside it. That was more than enough to get fans once again cooking up stories about how they think Megan somehow orchestrated the whole thing. Adding fuel to their fire is the fact that the bodyguard who shared it is the same one that failed to appear as a witness during Tory’s trial. Check out the post that sparked new debate over the trial below.
In the comments of a post recapping the events, fans try to share their narratives about Megan. “Please notice all her close friends stopped messing wit her theres one issue … her and yall refuse to see the issue,” one of the top comments reads. “This proves to me they really paid ppl off what would Meg gain lying about who shot her ? Her and Kelsey ain’t ride off into the sunset together I don’t get yall point,” another suggests.
Last month, Megan Thee Stallion returned with her new single “Cobra.” The song saw her leaning into some of her most personal feelings. Despite the intimate nature of the song it still featured her characteristic hard-hitting delivery. Over the weekend she teamed up with breakout singer Renee Rapp for a new soundtrack cut. The song is due to land on the soundtrack for the upcoming Mean Girls musical early next year. What do you think of one of Megan Thee Stallion’s former bodyguards listening to Tory Lanez on his Instagram story? Let us know in the comment section below.
Before Tory Lanez was convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in December of last year, his case was already one of the biggest of the decade so far. Whether it was for the high-profile nature of both sides or the back-and-forth accusations over tampered evidence, bias, and more, it was a firestorm to witness. It also prompted many folks in similarly “canceled” situations to side with the Canadian artist, and there is no one more firmly in that category than Kanye West. During a recent and wild rant at the listening event for his Ty Dolla $ign collab album Vultures in Las Vegas, he mentioned Tory at one point and how they linked.
“A lot of people have s**t to say about my Jewish comments,” Kanye West exclaimed. “But ain’t nobody in this motherf***ing room, and none of y’all entertainer n***as, ever said nothing when I was praying to see my kids. One of the last things, uh… What’s my n***a that got locked up for the Megan Thee Stallion s**t? Okay, look, so Tory Lanez, we used to have prayers on the phone together. And I prayed that day– and y’all saw that s**t. When I couldn’t see Chicago, too.
“All y’all n***as on Instagram got some s**t to say,” Kanye West continued. “Y’all n***as saw that s**t. Don’t tell me about my f***ing political opinion. I made more money to show you that money ain’t nothing. It’s our money, n***a! It’s our country, n***a, it’s how they stole it from us!” Of course, it’s unclear from this rant when Ye and Tory actually linked up to pray over the phone. Since it was over the phone, though, we’d safely bet that this was once the latter was in prison.
Meanwhile, the Chicago rapper’s rant also targeted Nicki Minaj for not clearing the song “New Body” for this upcoming project. Considering his past antics, this seems like another “line in the sand” moment where he might not drop Vultures anymore. We still haven’t decided whether that’s a good or bad thing. For more news and the latest updates on Kanye West & Tory Lanez, log back into HNHH.
Tory Lanez is seeking to vacate his ten-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, according to new reports from Meghann Cuniff. The reasoning behind this legal filing stems from a new testimony on behalf of his driver and bodyguard Jauquan Smith, who did not testify during his initial trial. While he didn’t see who shot the gun, he claimed to have seen the rapper and singer try to take the weapon away from Kelsey Harris before the shooting. “[Lanez] and Ms. Harris began struggling as Mr. Peterson tried to unarm Ms. Harris,” his statement, filed this week, reads. “I was still pulling [Megan] and did not see who shot the weapon.”
Not only that, but the Canadian artist’s habeas petition for re-sentencing also brings up other factors. For one, he wants the appellate to take into account his “childhood trauma” in their assessment of his case, as he also did with the sentencing judge. In addition, Tory Lanez expressed that deportation should not have become part of this decision due to its discriminatory nature. The specifics of these arguments remain unclear, but these summaries offer some necessary context for what aspects he is dissatisfied with.
Furthermore, Cuniff indicated on her social media platforms and articles that authorities will consider Tory Lanez’s petition along with his appellate brief. However, no one expects them to come to a conclusive decision on the matter for a couple of months given some logistic work-arounds. For example, the three-judge panel in this appeal stated that they will consider the petition once they have the entire appellate, which they haven’t filed yet. As of writing this article, it’s due December 26, so the defense still has time to prep it accordingly. Still, we’re sure that the 31-year-old would rather move things along as fast as possible so he can get an answer.
Meanwhile, this follows his attacks against Cuniff in a new promo video. Given how this whole case has progressed since the jury decided on a verdict, we’re sure that it won’t fully be over for years to come. Hopefully we’re wrong, though, as everyone involved needs their time away from it to heal and move on with their lives. For more news and the latest updates on Tory Lanez, come back to HNHH.
It has been four months since Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in her feet but he and his defenders continue to put forth the idea that it wasn’t him. After a court document featuring a statement from Lanez’s bodyguard that he saw Megan’s friend Kelsey Harris holding a gun became public, gossip blogs and social media accounts almost immediately began running with the story, insinuating once again that Megan was either lying or mistaken about just who pulled the trigger.
I’ve seen Tory Lanez’s driver’s affidavit, which is part of a longer habeas petition. Clerk tells me it could take a week to fulfill my email request for it. Or, I can go up to LA and pay for a copy in person.
I may do that later, but hopefully the full filing lands in my inbox.
The affidavit I saw includes the driver saying he didn’t actually see who shot the gun, but that he saw Kelsey with a gun in her hand.
This matches what Sean Kelly testified to, as I extensively reported in trial, but Sean also went on to clearly identify Lanez as firing shots. https://t.co/m63WuNKo3w
However, Thee Stallion herself remained adamant in the face of the renewed attacks from Lanez’s supporters (or Megan haters), questioning some of the commenters’ adherence to so-called “street code” in an Instagram Live stream. “Imagine y’all sayin’ somebody is following the street code, not snitching,” she said. “Y’all trying to pretend like Kelsey shot me. Kelsey didn’t shoot me… Her main problem with me was, ‘You won’t tell people I didn’t shoot you!’ I was like, ‘Kelsey, I don’t wanna talk about this on social media at all.’ But now you won’t even get online and defend yourself. So that really just proves my point: Either you took some money or your life is in danger!”
She also addressed Tory directly in the stream, saying, “If you say you didn’t shoot me, why wouldn’t you get on the stand and say, ‘I didn’t shoot this bitch?’ You say it online every day. You figure out how to get your n****s to say you didn’t do it, you figure out how to get the blogs to say you didn’t do it, but the one motherf*cker it would have mattered from was you. You should have said, ‘I didn’t do it. Kelsey did it.’ Kelsey, if you didn’t do it, why won’t you say, ‘I didn’t do it?’”
“I know who shot me,” she continued. “I said who shot me and that’s why you’re in jail…. You’re dragging online like there’s no evidence, there’s no new evidence… It’s 2024, y’all still f*cking with me!”
Megan thee Stallion makes it clear her ex-best friend Kelsey didn’t shoot her after Tory Lanez’s driver claims he saw her with a gun during the time she was shot:
It does seem a lot like someone doesn’t want to move on — and it isn’t Megan Thee Stallion (to be fair, the US prison system sucks, and nobody wants to spend 10 years inside, but at this point, an apology and request for leniency would probably be better strategies than whatever this is).
Megan Thee Stallion is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
Even though she pretty consistently seems to try and avoid drama, Megan Thee Stallion also always ends up in the thick of it. Recently, she’s been dealing with the fallout from her breakup with Pardison Fontaine. She commented on the matter in her new single “COBRA” where she accused Pardi of cheating. He didn’t take that accusation lying down though. He’s spoken about the claim in multiple interviews and released a pair of songs that touch on it, even bordering on Megan disses.
Now, Megan has responded to the response in a quick video she shared on Instagram. In the clip, she once again expresses her desire to put a lot of the drama behind her and just be herself. In the moment where she addresses Pardi, she says he should have never shared his stance on the matter in the first place. She claims that if he hadn’t cheated, he shouldn’t have responded to her allegations as it only made it look more likely. Check out the full video she shared below.
Just as she Megan dealt with one drama another emerged. Much of the legal drama surrounding her notorious shooting incident with Tory Lanez is settled. But it’s still a matter of major public interest. New intrigue was sparked earlier today when Lanez’s driver authored a letter. In the letter he claims that Megan’s ex-best friend Kelsey Harris was holding a gun the night of the shooting. While he doesn’t directly say that it was actually Harris and not Lanez who shot Megan, the implication is readily apparent.
During a recent Instagram live, Megan also responded to the rumor. She completely denied any chance of Kelsey being the one who shot her. “Cause y’all trying to pretend like Kelsey shot me. Kelsey didn’t muthaf**kin shoot me,” she said in the middle of an extended rant about the traumatic incident and reactions to it online. What do you think of Megan Thee Stallion’s responses to rumors about Pardi and Kelsey Harris? Let us know in the comment section below.
When the holiday season rolls around in the final months of the year, it’s hard not to find yourself in a festive mood – even from behind bars. Several famous faces know that all too well after spending several years locked up in prison, but others, like Tory Lanez, are spending their first-ever Thanksgiving in the slammer. The Canadian got a taste of Christmas while incarcerated in 2022, but this time around, he’s getting the full experience, and TMZ managed to get the details on what he’s eating to celebrate the annual holiday.
Much like his listeners, Lanez indulged in some roast turkey, mashed potatoes, and gravy on Thursday (November 23). Other fixings on the menu at California Correctional Institution Tehachapi include cornbread dressing, diced carrots, a dinner roll, green salad, cranberry sauce, and of course, pumpkin for dessert. While he’s serving his time at San Diego’s Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility, the outlet notes that Suge Knight ate the same meal as the “Say It” hitmaker.
Elsewhere, R. Kelly has become a seasoned pro at prison Thanksgiving by now. He’s staying at North Carolina’s FCI Butner Medium I, where he was fed roast turkey, baked candied sweet potatoes, cornbread dressing, green beans, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, and pie. In addition to the festive meal, prisoners at various institutes were also partaking in games like bingo, checkers, chess, and relay races to help brighten their moods.
Celebrities spending their holiday season behind bars have little say in what meals they’ll be indulging in, but those on the outside aren’t just sharing photos of their plates with fans on Instagram. For the 2023 season, Quavo is going all out by sharing a cookbook full of family recipes with us. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.
