Rema went on a viral rant on Twitter, Sunday, remarking that there’s now a “big 4” and that labels have been trying to “clone” him for years. Additionally, he agreed that every artist has been using him as a template since breaking onto the scene in 2019.

“No more Big 3 there’s now a Big 4,” he began. From there, he wrote in multiple tweets: “Tell your stylists to stop sending mails to brands with my name to get clothes imma pull up to your show and strip u on stage cuz that’s my sh*t HOE! fake celebrities, fake industry,” as well as “Labels get creative, stop trying to clone me.” Later in the day, he added: “Rema made Afrobeat EP’s a Big statement. Every new Artist since 2019 ate from the same template. Uh oh.”

When some fans began assuming Rema must be kicking off an album cycle with some drama, he shot the idea down. “No new music. Sorry. I’m Too big for fake PR bye!” he wrote alongside of a picture of himself. In addition to calls for new music, fans mostly agreed with the African artist. “He’s not even capping,” one fan wrote. “Ep culture as the first project for any artist started from Rema. Earlier this week, Kevin Gates’ took to social media to air his frustrations with a homeless woman he ran into on the road. In a clip taken from his Instagram Story, the Louisiana-born performer explains that the woman was holding a sign asking for food, so he decided to order an extra sandwich at Chick-fil-A for her. Upon giving it to the woman, however, she didn’t eat it. Instead, she put it in her bag, leaving Gates annoyed.

“This kinda s**t piss me the f**k off,” he said of the incident. “I had got two sandwiches from Chick-fil-A., I gave this lady one of my sandwiches, right… I reach her this Chick-fil-A sandwich out the window, right. This muthaf**kin b***h done put my Chick-fil-A sandwich in her book sack and put the sign back up there.”

Kevin Gates Thinks Woman Should Have “Ate That B***h Right There”

While it’s certainly possible that the woman was just saving the sandwich for later, Gates didn’t stop there. He went on to suggest that she should have eaten it right in front of him, based on what her sign said. “Now, I thought you said you was hungry, you will work for food,” he explained, looking visibly irritated. “You shoulda ate that b***h right there, you so f**king hungry.”

While it’s unclear exactly what’s got Gates’ in such a bad mood, it’s possible that it could have something to do with all of the online clowning he’s been a victim of as of late. He seemed surprisingly open to giving YB a chance to FaceTime Shugga in exchange for $250K, but quickly walked back his offer.

Evidently, YB didn’t appreciate his comments and responded with a heated rant, accusing Finesse of sliding into his wife’s DMs. “You sound like a b*tch who I kicked out, n***a. I ain’t tryna hear none of that mental health sh*t, boy,” he said. “You know how that sh*t turn out, you p*ssy a** n***a.” He didn’t stop there, however. YB continued, taking various shots at the rapper’s appearance, persona, and more.

“You wrote my h*e. I ain’t tell your botched a** nothing when you played with my h*e, n***a. I just posted your b*tch! Wizkid Rants About Not Being An Afrobeats Artist While Updating On Next Album

Wizkid just finished his next album, as he let fans know on Friday (March 15) via the Instagram social media platform. But apparently, before this new phase of his career begins, he wants to set the record straight on some important matters concerning his artistry and his image. “Album done! [eagle emoji] See you soon b***hes!” the “Loju” singer began. “And pls Abeg if u like Pakurumo wizkid don’t download this new album… in fact delete me from ur playlist and your life! [heart emoji] [eagle emoji] And if u like afrobeats pls don’t download my album! I am not a f***ing afrobeats artiste! Don’t call me that h*e! I am not Afro anything b***h!”

Overall, there were a lot of divided reactions to this rant online, with some criticizing his assessment and others defending his perspective. On one hand, the Nigerian superstar shouldn’t be boxed into a single genre or style, and not all of the music he makes necessarily falls under the umbrella of Afrobeats. On the other, Wizkid is definitely one of the biggest names associated (however lightly) with the genre. After all, he became the first African artist to get three platinum songs, and folks will immediately tie his success into that of the larger genre, even if simply calling him an Afrobeats artist might not accurately convey the full picture of his artistry right now.
