Post Malone And Quavo Treated The 2024 Rolling Loud California Crowd To A Surprise Performance Of ‘Congratulations’

It’s been a bumpy road to 2024 Rolling Loud California. From accusations of racist business practices to booking mishaps, the multi-day event was off to a rough start. However, since it kicked off on Thursday, March 14, everything’s been smooth sailing (not counting the Kanye West debacle).

Yesterday (March 16), Post Malone closed out the day with a head-banging set of his biggest hits. As an added bonus, Malone treated the sold-out crowd to a surprise performance of his hit song, “Congratulations,” alongside his collaborator Quavo. The former Migos member crept up onstage to deliver his verse as the audience grew hyped with the instrumental blaring overhead.

Initially released in 2016, “Congratulations” was produced by Metro Boomin and appeared on Malone’s Stoney album. Since it was shared, the record has gone on to earn diamond certification by the RIAA, selling over 14 million copies.

In 2022, during an appearance on the Full Send podcast, Metro revealed that the collaboration wasn’t actually planned but a result of a scheduling conflict.

“He called me, and so I came to the studio one day,” he said. “The same day, I was supposed to pull up on Quavo, on the same night. So, he called me while I was [working] with Post and said, ‘Where are you? What are you doing?’ So, I pulled Post to the side and said, ‘Man, you ever did a song with Quavo?’ He said, ‘Nah, but that would be dope though.’”

Years later, the song continues to rack up massive streaming numbers.

Quavo Pleads For Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign To “GIVE Em What They Want” By Dropping His Version Of “FUK SUMN”

VULTURES 1 even with its issues was still a successful release for Kanye West and his partner Ty Dolla $ign. The two frequent collaborators have had the album out for almost a full month. So far, fans are taking a liking to “CARNIVAL” with Playboi Carti and Rich The Kid. However, there was another track that was supposed to be more well-received. That would happen to be “FUK SUMN.” Anyone who has been paying attention to the rollout knows that Quavo and Carti were supposed to be featured on the track. Well, one of those two things were true.

Unfortunately for the ex-Migos star, Ye made some last-minute changes. In this case, he would add his protege Travis Scott into the mix. While there was a positive reception to this latest version, fans were hyped for Quavo to be on it. But, if we have to come to learn anything about Mr. West, it is that he loves to constantly tweak things. Instead, Quavo’s only credit would be on the forgettable “PAPERWORK.”

Did Quavo Make “FUK SUMN” Better?

Quavo feels the same as the fans do, according to HipHopDX. On his Instagram story, the Georgia rapper reposted a video from a JPEGMAFIA concert. During it, the version that was supposed to be released. He captioned the video saying, “GIVE Em What They Want.” The production is also slightly different from its updated version and it sounds pretty good. Hopefully, VULTURES 2 will give it a home.

What are your thoughts on Quavo’s message to Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign to drop his version of “FUK SUMN?” Which rendition of the track do you prefer and why? Is it still in your rotation? Could it land on VULTURES 2? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Quavo & Rich The Kid Don’t Totally Hit The Mark On “Real One”

Quavo and Rich The Kid are two of the bigger names we have going in modern hip-hop. Both have their fair share of solid hit songs in their solo discography and have done quite a bit for the genre. 2024 has already been a productive year for the frequent collaborators. Of course, their biggest moments so far are their features on VULTURES 1.

Fans were pretty upset about how Quavo was treated on the eventual release of “FUK SUMN.” He was replaced by Travis Scott, but he did still make it onto “PAPERWORK.” For Rich The Kid, he has been enjoying staying at the top of the charts with “CARNIVAL,” easily the biggest banger from the record. Additionally, he has exciting stuff coming down the line. One third of the Rich Forever group is going to be dropping his first solo album in four years with Life’s a Gamble.

Listen To “Real One” By Quavo & Rich The Kid

He will also be rejoining Jay Critch and Famous Dex possibly this year for the fifth Rich Forever tape. For now, he and Quavo are teaming up once more for a lackluster cut, “Real One.” It is unfortunate to say, but there is not anything to memorable about it. It is certainly passable, but not much more. This single follows up “Himothy” from the last week of February.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Real One,” by Quavo and Rich The Kid? Is this the better of the two tracks from the former Migos rapper, why or why not? Where does this rank amongst the rest of their collaborations? What is your favorite element of the song and why? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Quavo Lords Over Atlanta In His Triumphant ‘Himothy’ Video With The State Farm Arena Behind Him

In the regal video for Quavo’s new song “Himothy,” the iconic venue from which he performs is masked, but unmistakable. Where else could it be but Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, which he frequents as a fan of his hometown Hawks? However, rather than performing from the floor, where you can usually find him, his performance happens high above his regular seats, overlooking the city from the roof of a nearby building. Quavo flexes and flows on an old-fashioned hanging mic like he’s announcing a fight as the city stretches behind him.

The former Migo took some well-earned time off this winter after releasing his long-awaited solo album, Rocket Power, in August. The album was Quavo’s first solo release since his 2018 debut solo album, Quavo Huncho, and the first from the two surviving Migo members, Quavo and Offset, since the death of the group’s third member Takeoff. The album saw Quavo addressing the group’s falling out and paying tribute to his fallen bandmate, with whom he’d previously released the joint album Only Built For Infinity Links.

Whether the release of “Himothy” will lead to a full-length follow-up of Rocket Power remains to be seen. For now, you can watch the “Himothy” video above.

Karrueche Tran’s Flirty Quavo Comment Catches Our Attention, He Steps Out With Erica Fontaine

We never quite got to see what could’ve played out in love between Quavo and Karrueche Tran, though longtime stans of the rapper and actress continue to ship them. The latter hasn’t been seriously linked to anyone in some time, though the former has been somewhat quietly spending time with a gymnast by the name of Erica Fontaine. It’s been roughly a year of casual date nights for them, and we even saw a video of Quavo publicly planting a kiss on his rumoured boo a few weeks back.

Despite the Atlanta-based lyricist seemingly getting comfortable with the athlete, his past flame couldn’t resist teasing him on Instagram earlier this month. Rather than pressing people to answer the age-old question – $500K or dinner with Jay-Z? – Quavo asked his followers, “Lunch with Qua-Z, or take the cheese?” Before long, Karrueche dropped by the comments to let us know she’s going with option B, no questions asked.

Upon seeing this, internet sleuths speculated we might be seeing Q&K sneaking in and out of restaurants to enjoy each other’s company again soon. Instead, The Shade Room reports that 24-year-old Fontaine and Quavo were outside in Paris together earlier this week. She opted for an all-black Prada ensemble, meanwhile, her beau layered a brown and black furry sweater over pants with zipper details. He accessorized with a few silver chains, looking dapper as always as paparazzi cameras flashed away at the pair.

Since his unexpected split from Saweetie, Quavo has yet to publicly adore another woman as much as he did the Icy Girl. Still, we have been seeing some PDA from him and Erica Fontaine amid their rumoured romance, even if they’re not Instagram official. Read all about that at the link below, and check back in with HNHH later for more music/pop culture news updates.

Yamê

When Yamê released the COLORS version of his single “Bécane” on June 1, 2023, he took the world by surprise. The French-Cameroonian rapper is relatively new to the scene and released his debut mixtape, Bantu Mixtape Vol. 1 in 2020. However, he’s no musical novice, and his big break was inevitable. That breakthrough came with “Bécane,” which he quickly followed with his debut album ELOWI (2023). Since his 2020 debut, the rapper has released several singles, as well as a second mixtape. You should definitely check out his growing catalog.

Niska

With five studio albums to his name, Niska is certainly not a newcomer in the French rap scene. He debuted in 2015 with Charo Life, and since then, has made a name for himself. His discography is filled with many hit songs, including “Médicament” and “Du lundi au lundi.” However, his biggest song to date is the SNEP Diamond-certified single, “Réseaux” (2017).

Bu$hi

On December 13, 2017, Bu$hi released “La la,” a collaborative single with fellow French rap artist Jorrdee. Since then, he has released many more singles, both solo and with features. Additionally, the rapper has dropped four impressive solo studio albums: Bushi (2020), Bushi 1.5 (2020), Bushi Tape 2 (2022), and Interlude (2022). As aforementioned, his most recent offering is a collab with Quavo, who recently appeared on Kanye’s Vultures 1, titled “What We Doing!? / Qu’est-ce qu’on fait!?” Bu$hi is a fast-rising act in French rap right now, and you should definitely look out for him.

Kalash Criminel

This balaclava-wearing French-Congolese rapper broke into the scene with R.A.S in 2016. The album contains “Arrêt du cœur,” the standout track that launched his career. Despite the passage of time, the song continues to contribute to his success. Kalash Criminel is one of the most exciting acts in French rap right now. Altogether, he has released four solo studio albums so far, and is primed to take over the world.

Maes

Maes is a 29-year-old French rapper of Moroccan origin. In 2017, he introduced himself to fans of French rap with his debut mixtape, Réelle Vie. Since then, he has released two more volumes of Reélle Vie (2.0 and 3.0), and many singles. In addition, the rapper has three albums to his name, including Pure (2018), Les derniers salopards (2020), and Omerta (2023). Some of his standout tracks are “Madrina” ft. Booba, “Fetty Wap,” and “Galactic.”

Quavo Bounces Back On His Latest Solo Single, Proving He’s ‘Himothy’

For the past year or so, the internet’s favorite go-to term for praising a master of any given craft has been “him.” Watch a basketball player put up an effortless 30-point game. He’s him. An award-winning actor gives a generational, culture-changing performance in a film role. He’s him. A rapper who delivers a verse that blows all others out of the water, stealing not only the spotlight but also the social media discourse for days at a time? He’s him. This term can also be embellished in all sorts of ways, including turning “him” into “Himothy” — which is, incidentally, the title of Quavo’s latest solo single.

The lyrics clearly demonstrate why Quavo feels so confident. “I told the gang we gon’ eat forever /I’ll never let ’em starve to death / Quavo how you manifestin’ / Cuz I’m HIM in the flesh,” he raps over a rumbling Budda Beats production.

The song is Quavo’s first new solo single since releasing Rocket Power last August. The Atlanta rapper hasn’t announced a new project yet, but it sounds like it will probably be another solo album, despite him apparently patching things up with fellow former Migo Offset in the wake of their bandmate Takeoff’s death in 2022.

Listen to “Himothy” above.

Quavo Labels Himself As “Himothy” On Latest Single

While the Migos are not really together anymore, Quavo and Offset and trying to carry the torch by going solo. Last year, both dropped their sophomore LPs with Quavo going first with his tribute to Takeoff, Rocket Power. Then, a month later, Offset would follow that offering up with SET IT OFF. Both did well amongst the fans and now Quavo is looking to have another solid year in 2024 with “Himothy.”

While he was taken off Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s “FUK SUMN” to the fans dismay, he did still land on VULTURES 1 with “PAPERWORK.” After that Quavo and Travis Scott were getting the fans amped after they teased a new collaboration together at a Super Bowl bonanza. Hopefully, this is a sign of Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho‘s sequel. In the meantime, Quavo is here with a new solo release “Himothy.”

Listen To “Himothy” By Quavo

“Himothy” is a popular term with the Generation Alpha kids. It de when you feel like you are really good at something. That is how Quavo is feeling when it comes to how successful he is in the rap game. He does bring a lot of energy to the track. However, there is a message in the lyrics to take note of. It appears that he presumably wants the media and others in general, to drop anything surrounding Takeoff. Unfortunately for Quavo, that might not ever happen, especially with social media. But for what it is worth, HNHH continues to send our best wishes to the Migos and their closest family and friends.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Himothy,” by Quavo? Is this his best solo single in the last year or so, why or why not? Does he need to drop another solo album this year? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Quavo. Quavo Returns with New Single "Himothy"

Quavo has unveiled his first track of the year titled “HIMOTHY.” With his signature swagger, Quavo navigates the track’s orchestral melody and booming 808 bass, showcasing why he’s regarded as one of the most dynamic artists in the rap game.

Teasing fans earlier in the week on Instagram, Quavo hinted at the impending release of new music, culminating in the drop of “HIMOTHY.” This follows a stellar 2023 for the QC megastar, which saw the release of his highly acclaimed second solo studio album, Rocket Power, in August.
