Kanye West At Rolling Loud: Transgender Woman Who Was Attacked In Mosh Pit Speaks Out

Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign delivered a performance at Rolling Loud on Thursday last week. However, as we reported, the performance wasn’t fantastic. The two mostly just stood on the stage and walked around as music played over the top. Overall, it was fairly underwhelming, and fans were quick to point that out on social media. Unfortunately, it seems like things were more eventful in the crowd, but for all of the wrong reasons. By now, you have probably seen the footage of the transgender woman who was attacked while in a moshpit. It was upsetting to watch, as the woman was left bloodied and fearful for her life.

Recently, the woman who was attacked, Blu Linares, spoke to TMZ about what went down. As she explains, she was simply dancing to the music when a moshpit broke out. Subsequently, she got pushed into someone who then blamed her for what went down. This led to what she said were transphobic insults and some physical attacks. She was left with a gash in the middle of her forehead, and it was all a very scary scene. As she noted, the whole attack “felt transphobic.”

Kanye West Mosh Pit Turned Violent

This is not a good look for Kanye West and his fanbase. His new fans already have a bad reputation for holding white nationalist views, and typically, transphobia comes with the territory. So far, Ye nor Ty Dolla Sign have denounced what these fans did. In fact, if you were to go on social media, you would see most of the comments from fans in regards to this situation, are painting Linares to be the aggressor. It has been jarring to watch play out, and we just hope that Linares is doing okay and taking care of herself.

Let us know what you think of this situation, in the comments section down below, and please be respectful. Do you believe Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign should apologize? Or at the very least, urge their crowds and fans to be more respectful? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

If you were all dolled up and ready for Gag City to breeze through the Big Easy, you’re out of luck.

Tonight (March 18), Nicki Minaj fans based in the greater New Orleans area had their hearts set on seeing her live. However, a post shared on the Smoothie King Center’s official Instagram page revealed that her Pink Friday 2 World Tour stop for this evening had been postponed allegedly due to an undisclosed medical issue.

“Due to doctor’s orders, Nicki Minaj must reschedule her NOLA show tonight,” read the note. “As Nicki is still sick, our team does not want to run the risk of getting others sick, and Nicki would not be able to give NOLA the show they deserve. We are working diligently to find a new date, so please hold onto your tickets, and we will inform you all soon.”

With just hours to spare before the performance was scheduled to kick off, ticketholders were not thrilled. In fact, they’ve begun airing their grievances in the post’s comment section.

“She ain’t just get sick a few hours ago. This should’ve been announced this morning or yesterday. This is extremely last minute, and I’m very frustrated,” one user wrote.

“Nobody is mad because she canceled. It’s the fact they waited four hours before the event to tell us officially,” another chimed in.

Fans across X (formerly Twitter) defended the “Press Play” rapper, pointing out that Nicki was fighting back a sickness during her headlining set at 2024 Rolling Loud California on Friday, March 15. Nicki hasn’t issued a statement. However, ticketholders are advised to check their email regarding information for the rescheduled date.

Are Saweetie And YG Back Together?

yg and saweetie

Earlier this year, The Shade Room reported that Saweetie and YG had ended their relationship after dating since at least May of last year.

And this is why you don’t listen to The Shade Room, or any of those Instagram gossip accounts, really. I have harped on the subject of reliable sources for months and months and stuff like this is why.

During YG and Tyga’s set at Rolling Loud California this past weekend, YG brought Saweetie onstage, where they got cozy and exchanged declarations of love.

The two West Coast rappers were rumored to be dating after collaborating together on multiple songs. Then, in May 2023, they were spotted taking a romantic vacation in Cabo. Since then, they’ve been seemingly inseparable, teaming up with Tyga for the Str8 To The Club tour last autumn and collaborating again on Saweetie’s summer single “Birthday” (again with Tyga).

Saweetie has been more actively promoting her solo music this year, releasing the single “Richtivities” and collaborating with fellow Bay Area native P-Lo for the 49ers playoff anthem “Do It For The Bay.” It certainly sounds like she’s rebooting her album rollout, which could mean that her long-awaited debut project is on the way.

Saweetie is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Post Malone And Quavo Treated The 2024 Rolling Loud California Crowd To A Surprise Performance Of ‘Congratulations’

It’s been a bumpy road to 2024 Rolling Loud California. From accusations of racist business practices to booking mishaps, the multi-day event was off to a rough start. However, since it kicked off on Thursday, March 14, everything’s been smooth sailing (not counting the Kanye West debacle).

Yesterday (March 16), Post Malone closed out the day with a head-banging set of his biggest hits. As an added bonus, Malone treated the sold-out crowd to a surprise performance of his hit song, “Congratulations,” alongside his collaborator Quavo. The former Migos member crept up onstage to deliver his verse as the audience grew hyped with the instrumental blaring overhead.

Initially released in 2016, “Congratulations” was produced by Metro Boomin and appeared on Malone’s Stoney album. Since it was shared, the record has gone on to earn diamond certification by the RIAA, selling over 14 million copies.

In 2022, during an appearance on the Full Send podcast, Metro revealed that the collaboration wasn’t actually planned but a result of a scheduling conflict.

“He called me, and so I came to the studio one day,” he said. “The same day, I was supposed to pull up on Quavo, on the same night. So, he called me while I was [working] with Post and said, ‘Where are you? What are you doing?’ So, I pulled Post to the side and said, ‘Man, you ever did a song with Quavo?’ He said, ‘Nah, but that would be dope though.’”

Years later, the song continues to rack up massive streaming numbers.

PARTYNEXTDOOR Surprises Fans with Rolling Loud California Performance

PARTYNEXTDOOR Surprises Fans with Rolling Loud California Performance

PARTYNEXTDOOR delighted fans at Rolling Loud California with an electrifying performance fresh from announcing his upcoming album, P4. The crowd erupted in excitement as the singer-songwriter graced the stage and delivered a set filled with his chart-topping hits.

From soulful renditions of classics like “Come and See Me” and “Persian Rugs” to the upbeat vibes of “Break From Toronto,” PARTYNEXTDOOR had the audience captivated from start to finish. However, the night’s highlight surprised many when he treated fans to an exceptional performance of “Work,” the smash hit he co-wrote for Rihanna.

As R&B enthusiasts in the crowd swooned to his smooth vocals and infectious beats, PARTYNEXTDOOR solidified his status as one of the genre’s leading talents. With P4 on the horizon, anticipation for his new album has reached a fever pitch, leaving fans eager for more from the Toronto native’s musical prowess.

People Were Baffled By Kanye West’s Strange Rolling Loud Performance, Where He Apparently Just Walked Around While Pre-Recorded Music Played

kanye west

I know I said we at Uproxx do not engage in schadenfruede when I wrote about another Kanye West fail earlier this week, but the man is truly testing the limits of that policy this week.

Now, you’d think anyone who has followed the mercurial producer’s moves for the past, like, decade would understand the inherent risk involved in unskeptically engaging with anything he announces, but Roling Loud attendees were given the “Emperor’s New Clothes” treatment firsthand at his “special performance” last night in Inglewood, California.

Billed to perform a “headlining” performance ahead of the festival proper, Kanye instead pulled a Frank Ocean at Coachella, instead just sort of standing around onstage while a DJ played his last album, Vultures 1. Fans were… let’s just say “displeased.”

“I’m not gonna say the show sucked but I just thought going to a Kanye show would be different,” wrote one disgruntled fan on Twitter.

“So Kanye is lipping the whole performance tonight,” observed another, with pretty obvious disappointment.

And look — I said Uproxx wouldn’t engage in any schadenfruede, but fans on Twitter certainly did. “No way Kanye just dipped after playing vultures 😂 at rolling loud,” one joked. “At this rate he gonna stop showing up at all and tell his fans to imagine him performing, they’ll be like ‘I see him.’” Again… The Emperor’s New Clothes. (They’re already doing it, btw).

The disdain for Kanye’s latest anti-performance was palpable, but something tells me folks will keep coming back for more — sunk costs and all. It definitely sucks to see a first ballot hip-hop hall-of-famer turn into …. this, but the good news is, there are plenty of other artists out there to enjoy who haven’t become Nazi apologists. Check out some more reactions below.

Last March, Uproxx’s Aaron Williams reviewed Rolling Loud California 2023 and raved about the music festival’s venue change to Hollywood Park near SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Rolling Loud California 2024 will overtake the same venue, beginning tonight (March 14) with ¥$ (Ye and Ty Dolla Sign). Nicki Minaj is the headliner on Friday, March 15, followed by Post Malone on Saturday, March 16, and a co-headlining set from Future and Metro Boomin on Sunday, March 17.

When Is Post Malone On Stage At Rolling Loud California 2024?

According to Rolling Loud’s official app and a press release, Post Malone’s headlining set is scheduled to run from 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. PST on Saturday, March 16. He will perform on the Ethika Stage, which will also host Hoosh, Danny Towers, BabyTron, Veeze, Larry June, Fuerza Regida, Big Sean, and $uicideBoy$ earlier in the day. See the full schedule of Rolling Loud California 2024 set times here.

Over the past six weeks or so, Malone was announced as a featured artist on Taylor Swift’s forthcoming The Tortured Poets Department album, as well as a character in the Road House remake, and performed “America The Beautiful” at Super Bowl LVIII. So, performing at Rolling Loud California 2024 will be a blip in Post Malone’s always-jammed schedule.
