Lil Uzi Vert Is Disputing Their Appearance On The Rolling Loud California 2024 Lineup: ‘Don’t Understand Why My Name Is On Here’

It looks like there may have been a miscommunication between Lil Uzi Vert and their management regarding their appearance on the Rolling Loud California lineup for 2024 because Uzi appears confused. “I never said I was doing Rolling Loud,” they wrote on Instagram over a repost of the event’s flyer in Stories. “Don’t understand why my name is on here.”

While miscues like this do occasionally happen in the entertainment industry (actually, they happen all the time, just rarely at this scale), it’s unusual that Lil Uzi Vert wouldn’t want to do Rolling Loud. They’ve been a mainstay at the festival since it began to rise to prominence a few years ago, appearing on the roster most years since at least 2017.

However, Uzi has been insinuating lately that they’re fed up with the music business, hinting at retirement and personal issues including a possible breakup with City Girls’ JT. Anyone hoping that their Grammy nomination for Pink Tape would salve those psychic wounds might end up disappointed.

This isn’t the first time a big-name festival announced its lineup before the artists involved were informed by their respective teams. In 2020, the Lovers And Friends Festival lineup was disputed by both Mase and Lil Kim before they figured things out. Despite those checks eventually clearing, though, the festival was postponed due to COVID-19, eventually taking place at a later date.

Next year, Rolling Loud California is returning with a newly announced lineup of incredible performers. Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, and Lil Uzi Vert are headlining the festival, which will play on the weekend of March 15-17.

YG & Tyga, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Rae Sremmurd, Sexyy Red, Suicideboys, Summer Walker, Big Sean, Larry June, Don Toliver, Bryson Tiller, Ski Mask The Slump God, Chief Keef, NLE Choppa, 03 Greedo, Luh Tyler, Flo Milli, and more are also playing at the festival.

For those who are interested in attending next year, the festival will be held at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Park, which is on the grounds adjacent to SoFi Stadium.

Earlier this year, the festival had moved to this venue, after hosting it in San Bernadino for 2022. Previous iterations of Rolling Loud California also took place at the Banc Of California Stadium.

“There was no dust or grass or rugged terrain to navigate, with the streets lining the stadium offering the food concessions, water stations, and rest areas all in an easily traversable thoroughfare with few choke points,” Uproxx’s Aaron Williams wrote in his review about Rolling Loud California’s Hollywood Park venue. “Getting around the fest was a breeze. And including three entrances not only increased the sense of convenience but also the feeling that the organizers had prioritized safety, preventing bottlenecking in any one part of the festival grounds as new arrivals got themselves oriented.”

Ice Spice Gave Her First-Ever Live Performance Of Chart Hit ‘Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2’ At Rolling Loud California

Ice Spice is everywhere. The Bronx-bred star enjoyed her first-ever entry on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Gangsta Boo” featuring Lil Tjay, and she promptly outdid herself. Her “Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2” remix with PinkPantheress topped the Apple Music charts and cracked the top 10 of the Hot 100 by the end of February, currently sitting at No. 3.

North West might be Ice Spice’s No. 1 fan, but Ice Spice won over loads more fans during her Rolling Loud California set on Sunday, March 5. She kicked things off with “Princess Diana,” flowing into “Gangsta Boo” and “Actin A Smoochie” before performing “Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2” live for the first time.

“Make some noise for PinkPantheress!” Ice Spice said before starting the surging track, which was unintentionally kind of a cruel tease because PinkPantheress was not actually there to perform with her. “Y’all got us to Billboard. Make some noise for y’all self!”

Ice Spice rounded out her 13-minute set with “Bikini Bottom,” “Munch (Feelin’ U),” and “In Ha Mood” — all from her debut EP, Like…?, from January.

According to TMZ, Ice Spice succeeded so much in winning over her Rolling Loud California crowd that “one of ’em even attempted to rush the stage, until Ice’s bodyguards treated the guy like a true munch!!!”

Kodak Black Threatens Rolling Loud Crowd With His Belt After Someone Throws Water: Watch

Now that March is here, it feels as though spring is right around the corner. Along with the warmer weather comes a favourite time of year for many music lovers – festival season. Kicking things off earlier than most in 2023 is Rolling Loud California, headlined by Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, and Future, as well as special guest Lil Wayne. As is customary for this specific festival, there’s been no shortage of hilarious viral moments and headlines resulting from performer’s and patron’s antics.

One story that’s been overshadowing the excitement surrounding Rolling Loud is Travis Scott’s alleged involvement with an assault in the days before his set. According to reports, the father of two plans to turn himself in to the NYPD after his performance tonight (March 4). The Astroworld rapper may be lucky enough to still take the stage, but another name on the lineup, Tory Lanez, wasn’t so lucky.

Despite still being billed on the festival’s official website, the Canadian remains behind bars for shooting Megan Thee Stallion. Big Scarr, who passed away due to an overdose a few months ago, also remains on the poster. Aside from the inaccurate lineup, Friday was a strong start for festivalgoers, who watched acts like 2Rare, Tay Money, and Blueface perform. The evening’s biggest names were Tyga, DaBaby, Saweetie, and Soulja Boy, though the latter didn’t get as much love as he likely anticipated.

In videos circulating online, the “Pretty Boy Swag” hitmaker gives the crowd his all, pouring pure energy into old favourites and new arrivals. Unfortunately for him, many watching didn’t match up, instead looking rather bored while seemingly waiting for another performer to come out. Social media has been having a field day reacting to Soulja’s misfortune, but that’s not the only Rolling Loud moment that has their attention.

Kodak Goes Full Dad Mode

During his set last night, Florida native Kodak Black obviously didn’t take kindly to someone in the audience throwing a water bottle his way. Though he continues to rap and entertain after the plastic hits him, an assistant soon brings out the rapper’s belt to him, and he immediately threatens the crowd. “Now who threw that water at me?!” he asks, holding the potential weapon in the air.

After not getting a clear answer, Yak’s DJ turns the music off so he can more clearly address his potential assailants. “Who threw that water at me?” he asks again before the camera catches him smiling and laughing. Check it out in the video above, and let us know which Rolling Loud California set you’re most excited to see in the comments.
