Macaulay Culkin Was The First Choice To Play “Stan” In Eminem Video

“Stan” is a classic single. Eminem’s character study of a crazed stalker is as poignant now as the day it dropped, and it’s even become hip-hop shorthand for “intense fans.” A big part of why the song worked so well was the music video, which starred Devon Sawa as the titular character. Sawa, best known as the star of the Final Destination franchise, gives an utterly chilling yet sympathetic performance. It’s hard to imagine someone else doing a better job. That said, Macaulay Culkin was Eminem’s original choice.

Sawa shed light on his casting during a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, and blew our collective minds in the process. The actor revealed that he was the second choice to play Stan after Culkin turned it down! You read that right: Eminem wanted the star of Home Alone to play his obsessed fan. “Full disclosure: they went out to Macaulay Culkin first, I believe,” Sawa told the outlet. “I think that they wanted him, and he wasn’t available, or didn’t want to do it or whatever.” Culkin was not technically an actor at the time, which may have contributed to his decision. The child star retired from Hollywood in 1995, and wouldn’t return to the big screen until Party Monster in 2003. The music video for “Stan,” meanwhile, came out in 2000.

Devon Sawa Got The Role Through Dr. Dre

Devon Sawa credited Dr. Dre with getting him the part. Apparently, the super producer saw Sawa in the first Final Destination and thought he would be a good fit. He turned out to be right. “There happened to be somebody in the casting office that knew somebody who was friends with me,” the actor recalled. He may have been the second choice, but Sawa considers “Stan” to be one of his career highlights. “It’s one of the proudest things I’ve been a part of,” he added. “I know it better now than I did that day. Because I’ve heard it millions of times since.”

Macaulay Culkin may have passed on “Stan,” but the actor actually has a pretty stellar music video resume. He appeared in the video for Michael Jackson’s iconic single “Black or White” in 1991, then returned for the Sonic Youth track “Sunday” in 1998. The actor popped up in the Pizza Underground’s “The Pizza Underground Demo” in 2014, which makes sense given that he was in the band. Culkin then played a crucified Kurt Cobain in the music video for Father John Misty’s 2017 song “Total Entertainment Forever.” He’s yet to make his hip-hop debut, but there’s still plenty of time.

Quavo & Destroy Lonely Mesh Well On Their First Song “Potato Loaded”

People had some sneaky suspicions that Quavo and Destroy Lonely could be cooking up something in the studio. Photos surfaced near the very start of 2024 when NLE Choppa shared a post on social media of him chopping it up with the two aforementioned artists. While most people were probably expecting the Memphis rapper to be a part of the collab, that is sadly not the case. However, Quavo and Destroy Lonely are more than enough to get excited about.

Those earlier sessions have resulted in this new single right here, “Potato Loaded.” This is a Quavo single, as Lonely is credited as the feature, which makes this his third solo effort. The former Migo also worked with ATL Jacob and BU$HI as a guest. So, this could mean a third album could be in the works.

Listen To “Potato Loaded” By Quavo & Destroy Lonely

Those possible promotional records include “Real One” with Rich The Kid, and “Himothy.” So far, “Potato Loaded” may be the strongest of three. The cavernous trap beat with the enchanting woodwind sample is a nice combination of atmosphere and grittiness. Furthermore, Lonely brings an animated performance as Quavo opts for a more cool and subdued delivery. You can check out the new single above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Potato Loaded,” by Quavo and Destroy Lonely? Was this song worth the wait for you, why or why not? What is your favorite element of the track and why? Who had the stronger performance? Should these two work again in the near future? 21 Savage & Brent Faiyaz Turn Up In New “Should’ve Wore A Bonnet” Music Video

Amid all of the drama between his Her Loss collaborator Drake and Metro Boomin, Future, and more, 21 Savage remains unbothered. As of late, the hitmaker continues to celebrate the success of his latest album, which he released in January of this year, American Dream. The project has been a success among fans so far, selling 131K album-equivalent units in its first week, up to par with his 2018 solo LP i am > i was.

21 is also gearing up to embark on a tour in support of the project, which begins in May. The UK-born performer will be joined by JID, 21 Lil Harold, and Nardo Wick. His newly secured green card will even him to stop in Vancouver. Before he sets off, however, he’s come through with a new music video for his track from the album with Brent Faiyaz, “should’ve wore a bonnet.”

21 Savage & Brent Faiyaz Team Up For New Video

The laid-back, VHS-inspired visual sees the two performers at a party surrounded by countless women, celebrity peers, and more. The dreamy, nostalgic music video fits the mellow track well, and stays on theme with the album’s other visuals. The duo also recently linked up to perform the song on Saturday Night Live in February. 21 was also joined by Summer Walker for a performance of “Prove It.”

It’s speculated that some shade has been thrown 21 Savage’s way lately, and fans are itching to hear him respond. It doesn’t look like he plans to, however. He’s instead been spending his days promoting his music, hitting up Disneyland, and more. What do you think of 21 Savage’s new music video for “should’ve wore a bonnet” with Brent Faiyaz? Future, Metro Boomin, Travis Scott & Playboi Carti Join Forces For “TYPE S**T” Music Video: Watch

Everyone’s favorite new banger “TYPE S**T” off of Future and Metro Boomin’s collaborative album WE DON’T TRUST YOU is shaping up to be one of the biggest hits of the year. Moreover, the Travis Scott and Playboi Carti-assisted cut just got a visual treatment courtesy of directors Gunner Stahl and LouieKnows, and it’s a pretty grimy, grounded, and simply effective approach. All four artists flex their wild fits, cash, and luxury cars for the cameras, hitting up a strip club and driving around a city at night. Also, there are some other artist and producer cameos throughout the music video, as you can see folks like Southside and Ken Carson pop out for cameo appearances.

Furthermore, this continues a lot of hype around the song that began when all parties involved started teasing it heavily on social media. This led up to a wild Rolling Loud L.A. performance earlier this month sans Playboi Carti, but Future, Metro Boomin, and Travis Scott still rocked the crowd. This is definitely one of the songs to have resonated with fans the most off of WE DON’T TRUST YOU, either thanks to its collaborative nature or the classically menacing Metro beat. Either way, we’re sure that we’ll be hearing it ring off at the aux, clubs, sporting events, and much more throughout 2024.

Future & Metro Boomin’s “TYPE S**T” Music Video With Playboi Carti & Travis Scott: Watch

However, there’s also a lot of discussion about the more combative and speculative moments on WE DON’T TRUST YOU. “LIKE THAT” is about a few hours in the trend cycle away from becoming a classic verse of the 2020s, said verse coming from Kendrick Lamar and his Big Three-stomping lyricism. Many fans are hoping that Drake and J. Cole respond to these disses in some way, and they want more context and understanding as to what it all means for their competition and for the rap game at large. Maybe hearing one of them speak on it would paint a more complete picture, but Future and Metro Boomin have plenty of reason to indulge.

Supposedly, both of them have beef with Drake in particular, and dissed him on WE DON’T TRUST YOU. Metro’s issues with him are well-documented, whereas his “I Serve The Base” partner is rumored to be feuding with him over a girl. This is all unconfirmed and mostly just gossip, though, so we’ll see if this is the end of the story. Hopefully, there’s more to come. On that note, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Future, Metro Boomin, Travis Scott, and Playboi Carti.

Halle Bailey Drops Moving Visual For “In Your Hands”

Recently, Bailey chatted with fans on Instagram Live about “In Your Hands,” answering questions and providing them with some background information on the song. According to her, the track was initially going to be a 30-second interlude on her upcoming album, but friends and family urged her to give it the credit it deserves. She says that after first writing it, she only liked the hook, and later decided to rewrite the remainder of the song and release it as a single.

“The hook is based [on] being in love, being in a relationship and knowing that you know, your future with this person is just beautiful and the love that you have with this person is beautiful but also knowing your worth,” she explained. “The verses that I wrote, I wrote when I was pregnant, and in a way, it has like a double meaning. So the verses almost are to Halo, because I felt like I was singing to him just about how I’m always going to be here for him, and my journey as his mother, and all these things.”
