Last week, she unveiled yet another new single, “In Your Hands.” The moving track arrived alongside a dramatic accompanying music video, which sees Bailey serenade viewers in a dark forest, shred on a guitar, and more. Baby Halo even makes a brief appearance in the powerful visual, which makes sense considering one of her latest revelations.

Halle Bailey Drops Moving Visual For “In Your Hands”

Recently, Bailey chatted with fans on Instagram Live about “In Your Hands,” answering questions and providing them with some background information on the song. According to her, the track was initially going to be a 30-second interlude on her upcoming album, but friends and family urged her to give it the credit it deserves. She says that after first writing it, she only liked the hook, and later decided to rewrite the remainder of the song and release it as a single.

“The hook is based [on] being in love, being in a relationship and knowing that you know, your future with this person is just beautiful and the love that you have with this person is beautiful but also knowing your worth,” she explained. “The verses that I wrote, I wrote when I was pregnant, and in a way, it has like a double meaning. So the verses almost are to Halo, because I felt like I was singing to him just about how I’m always going to be here for him, and my journey as his mother, and all these things.”

Halle Reaches New Heights Of Love With Her Ballad, ‘In Your Hands’

Halle is back and stronger than ever. Earlier this year, the remarkably talented multihyphenate revealed she gave birth to a baby son with her longtime partner, rapper DDG. She’s also been teasing new solo music, as she and her sister, Chlöe, have been working on new material — both as a duo and as solo acts. Tonight (March 15), Halle shared her new single, “In Your Hands.”

On “In Your Hands,” Halle waxes romantic, as she feels empowered when her love holds her. Fully aware of the power she possesses, Halle warns him not to fumble her, as this type of love only comes once in a lifetime.

“In your hands, in your hands / The world is yours when I’m in it / In your hands, in your hands / You can’t let go or you’ll lose your chance / ‘Cause after me, you’ll never fall in love again,” she sings on the song’s chorus.

In the song’s accompanying video, Halle is seen in the ocean, moving effortlessly through the water.

In a follow-up scene, Halle is in the mountains and flawlessly nails a guitar riff. As Halle is the only person in the video, she offers a simple reminder that she, alone, is enough to change her lover’s life.

Halle Bailey Continues Her Solo Era With A Release Date For Her Next Single ‘In Your Hands’

While Chloe X Halle fans clamor for a comeback from their favorite duo, the Bailey sisters themselves have been advancing their individual careers. While 2023 appeared to be Chlöe’s chance to shine as a solo artist while Halle enjoyed the Hollywood spotlight, it looks like the younger sister is ready to start rolling out her own solo album. Now that the release of The Color Purple is over and her new baby Halo is a few months old, Halle has begun to tease her next move: a solo single called “In Your Hands.”

She revealed the release date for the single on Twitter in a post suggesting what fans might be able to expect. In apparent cover photo for the single, Halle kneels in the desert, playing a guitar and whipping her hair across her face. The image, paired with a reply from her sister that reads, “My rockstar,” has fans expecting some Lenny Kravitz-esque rock’n’roll on Halle’s single, which would certainly help set her music apart from Chlöe’s hip-hop-flavored R&B approach.

Chlöe, meanwhile, has also continued her solo career, dropping the single “FYS” to start the year. So, while we might not be getting a new Chloe X Halle project right away, we could be getting projects from both Chlöe AND Halle, which is almost just as good.
