Gumbo Brands, has become the largest black-owned international cannabis company in the world, has announced their “420 Gumbo Festival”, with Rich the Kid, Moneybagg Yo and D-Block’s Jadakiss as the festival’s headliner.
Other special guests include Rakim and D-Block members Styles P and Sheek Louch, with Hot97’s Funk Flex and Sheek Louch on the 1s and 2s during this exclusive 420 celebration.
Dozens of vendors will be in the building to serve up the attendees favorite flower as Gumbo founders Karim Butler and Alexis Major-Allison promise to give the people the most memorable 420 experience in the history of the brand.

Moneybagg Yo is one of the hottest Memphis rappers right now, something Zach Randolph and Marcus “Head” Howell stand by with pride. Moreover, they spoke in a recent interview with Business Insider about Yo being their first artist, and how he led to great success. Of course, city leaders like Yo Gotti also proved instrumental in his career, but Gotti’s mentorship also impacted Randolph and Howell. From the moment they signed Moneybagg in 2016, the artist showed gratitude for their confidence in his vision, and worked hard to make them proud.
“Bagg work hard,” Head expressed. “Actually, he probably in the studio now. We have to drag the man out the studio. Bagg’s a guy, he like to work out, he like to take care of his kids, and he like to be in the studio all day. So, working hard, like Zach said, you know, like he be in the gym all day. That’s what Bagg do all day. Being in the studio. And you gotta stay in the studio if you wanna get successful. ‘Cause that make you good in your craft.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the two also spoke on the Memphis scene and how they define its musical hotbed. “It’s a special city, man,” former NBA star Randolph remarked. “It’s a city where you gotta work for everything. You know, ain’t nothing given to you, ain’t nothing soft about the city. You gotta hard work, and it’s a lot of real people and blue collar people. But the music, it’s the hotbed right now. You see that all the labels is coming into Memphis and trying to sign all the artists up outta there.”
While that hard work can be grueling, it also results in a deep connection to those working just as hard as you. For example, Z-Bo and Head reflected on how they’re able to collaborate with so many like Yo Gotti and Bagg’s own label when it comes to releasing his music. “‘Cause we all family,” Randolph stated. “We’ve been had relationships a long time, so it was easy. She’s used to being trolled, but the Barbz have been ruthless after her spat with Nicki Minaj. Every move Latto makes has been scrutinized by her critics, and once again, she denies the romance with Savage. However, a celebrity stylist surfaced to lay rumors to rest. According to reports, Rhonnie Lee has worked for Moneybagg Yo, but after spilling alleged information about Latto and 21, she’s been labeled as untrustworthy with private information.
On Instagram, someone called it confusing that Latto and 21 have continued to curb the public. “They’re together have been for years now!” Lee replied. “Not something I heard something I KNOW! This his woman he loves her & Vice verse!” A screenshot of the brief exchange became a focal point, thrusting Latto and 21 back into gossip conversations.

“Mane stop mentioning me in this picture of somebody getting f***ed,” he wrote indignantly via Twitter. “Y’all ppl WEIRD bra my whole body tatted s**t not me!” In a subsequent series of tweets, he made light of the situation with some cheekier and more humorous comments. “People be Slow internet dry y’all need some attention,” the 31-year-old continued. “U lame a** n***as be ready for me to f**k up,” he concluded with some crying-laughing emojis.

While Glo’s signed to CMG and not Bread Gang Entertainment, which is Bagg’s label, all artists on stage are with CMG, which many people forget. However, since then, it seems the focus has been mostly on great music and bringing more of those parts of Memphis together. While on the red carpet of the Grammys, he praised her hit song “F.N.F.” for its fun bars and energy.
Meanwhile, one of the biggest female rappers on the moment, Cardi B, showed up to Glo’s tour stop in the former’s home city of New York. They performed their track “Tomorrow 2” together to a screaming crowd in another moment of respect between two similar artists. This time, Memphis wasn’t the link, but rather as two female artists in an often male-dictated industry, although that’s starting to change. In contrast, though, both Pau Gasol and Brown’s Boston teammate Jayson Tatum found ways to honor the late Kobe Bryant. After coaching up his Rising Stars team to a win on Friday (Feb. 17), Paul Gasol talked about his consideration for the Basketball Hall of Fame. He gave all the credit to Kobe. “My name, my number don’t go into those rafters without those championships,” he said. “And we don’t win those championships without Kobe Bryant.” Similarly, Tatum honored Bryant after winning the Kobe Bryant All-Star Game MVP. “Everybody knows how much [Kobe] meant to me,” he said. “My favorite player, my idol. Morant was raised in South Carolina and now lives in Memphis, TN. So, it’s no surprise that every artist he named is from the South. Pooh Shiesty and Moneybagg Yo are both from Memphis, and Youngboy and Baby are from Louisiana and Georgia respectively. It’s easy to see where Ja’s heart lies.
Aside from light-hearted conversations with NBA reporters, Morant has had an otherwise bizarre and eventful start to 2023. January saw a bit of turbulence with him being hit with a lawsuit for fighting a minor in a pickup basketball game. Additionally, his father Tee Morant, and FOX Sports commentator Shannon Sharpe got into a scuffle at a Grizzles-Lakers basketball game. Then in February, Ja was implicated in a situation where his friends were accused of stalking and intimidating employees for the Indiana Pacers.
