Most major hip-hop artists are used to getting unsolicited feedback from their fans, but rarely do they actively ask for it. On Wednesday, however, Meek Mill did just that, taking to Twitter to ask fans if they think he “fell off.”
The Philly-based artist posted: “Who think I fell off or don’t really think I got it with rapping anymore?….I’m fr I need answers and tell the truth I’m not taking it personal … I need to hear how people think before I do what I do! A social experiment! Answer if you a supporter of mines!”
Responses to the tweet were mixed with some users saying that he needs to adapt his music to be more in line with current artistic styles while others said that he should stay true to his original style and perhaps go deeper on subject matter now that he is older. A few cracked jokes about other alternative income streams such as selling feet pics.
One thing that many were in agreement on was the fact that the only way the question can be answered is with the release of new music. Meek released his last studio album, Expensive Pain, in 2021. The album debuted and peaked at number three on the US Billboard 200 chart.
So far, Meek hasn’t responded to any replies. Perhaps he’s busy in the studio?
On June 7, former Florida State and New York Giants wide receiver Travis Rudolph was found not guilty on one count of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder. The trial was in relation to a 2021 incident in which Rudolph opened fire on a group of men outside his Florida home. During the trial, the defense showed text messages from Rudolph’s ex encouraging her brother and three other men to “shoot up” Rudolph’s house over alleged infidelity.
Rudolph’s defense had initially hinged on Florida’s Stand Your Ground law. However, after an appeal to have the charges tossed based on that precedent was rejected, the case went to trial. However, his team was successfully able to argue self-defense and, as mentioned, a jury found Rudolph not guilty after just two hours of deliberation.
Philly rapper Meek Mill is no stranger to legal issues. Most recently, Mill pled guilty to a misdemeanor firearms charge in 2019. Furthermore, Mill took to Twitter to publicly voice his support for Rudolph. Quote-tweeting the account Say Cheese‘s reporting of the not guilty verdict, Mill added his own words of support. “Blessings….. a messy asss hoe can destroy your life in 60 seconds! Now go get that 20+ for that doc series!.” True crime is a popular genre right now, with new podcasts and documentaries produced all the time.
Despite Mill’s urging to hit up the networks, it’s unclear what Rudolph will do now. Arguably, the murder case thrust him into the national spotlight after his football career stalled out. After a solid career at Florida State, Rudolph went undrafted in 2017. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Giants and started his career on their practice squad. However, we would appear in seven games for the team due to a wave of injuries. After being released by the Giants, he signed with the Dolphins but tore his ACL on the first day of offseason camp. However, he did attempt a comeback in the CFL, but never took the field. Follow all the latest crime and sports news here at HotNewHipHop.
According to Beyoncé’s latest single, “America Has A Problem,” and it might’ve started in Philadelphia. The city’s most prominent names in hip-hop, Meek Mill and DJ Drama, are engaged in a tense beef.
The “Dreams & Nightmares” rapper didn’t take too kindly to DJ Drama, declaring that Drake and Lil Wayne are “closer to being the Jay Z” of their era than Meek is. However, in a series of tweets, Meek shared that the producer’s comments on The Jay Hill Podcastwasn’t the only thing that led to the falling out.
“DJ Drama is a goofy over these hoes, LOL. He won’t speak good about me. I tore him up in [Atlanta]. I asked Drama why he is always speaking down on me with a few other words, too told him he’s a goofy,” said the entertainer. Adding, “I also hit him when he tried to compare ‘Dreams & Nightmares’ to ‘I Wanna Rock’ and downplay me. Don’t let these industry lames use you. They don’t really even like you, SMH LOL.”
I asked drama why he always speaking down on me with a few other words too told him he’s a goofy… I also hit him when he tried to compare dreams and nightmares to I wanna rock AND DOWNPLAY ME … DONT LET THESE INDUSTRY LAMES USE YOU THEY DONT REALLY EVEN LIKE YOU SMH LOL pic.twitter.com/L1Im13YZsl
In an earlier tweet, Meek alleges that DJ Drama attempted to leverage his likeliness for a promotional opportunity with NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series.
He confirmed tiny desk without speaking to my team or me … I told him I wasn’t locking it in … I’m not even on his album …I’m too up to be working another man’s album rollout wtf …everytime I rap I get rich and I ain’t been barely rapping I been on business timing ….I hate… pic.twitter.com/GkYi0BG7bl
Users continued to fan the flames requesting that the musician release a diss track, to which Meek replied, “I don’t want his name living forever. LOL. He is dying out.”

Meek Mill and DJ Drama may have had a decent working relationship in the past, but that’s all changed according to the rapper’s latest Twitter rant. On Monday (May 29), the “Dreams And Nightmares” hitmaker’s page lit up with his thoughts on the Generation Now founder, apparently triggered by the former seeing the latter talking down on him in yet another interview. “DJ Drama a goofy over these h*es,” Meek began this afternoon. “Lol, he won’t speak good on me. I tore him up in the A.”
In his next message, the 36-year-old pulled out receipts of a conversation with his fellow Philly native. “I asked Drama why he always speaking down on me with a few other words too, told him he’s a goofy,” Meek explained along with his screenshot. “I also hit him when he tried to compare ‘Dreams And Nightmares’ to ‘[Just] Wanna Rock’ AND DOWNPLAY ME.” Before wrapping up his message, the “Litty” artist urged others in the industry to avoid being used by lames who don’t even really like them.
Meek didn’t stop there either. He eventually brought DJ Khaled’s name into the conversation, making it abundantly clear that he would never speak on him or Drama while doing press. “That man never did real charity in Philly in his life,” the father of two alleged of the 45-year-old. “I just be saying bits [and] parts online because it be too much to say… I be wanting it to be known when [I don’t] rock [with] these goofies,” Mill clarified.
After putting Drama on blast, the lyricist replied to a Twitter user questioning why he’s partaking in internet beef when he’s wealthy. “I was getting a rich ass massage scrolling, seen a goofy I know speaking on me so I’m speaking my mind,” Meek wrote along with a video of his face peering out from beneath a massage table. “We be multitasking on BS sometimes lol.”

Meek Mill is known to be a great freestyler, whether he’s in the booth or just riding around the city with his entourage. One of the great benefits of that skill is that, when it comes to hot new tracks in the rap world, you can add your own flavor to them with ease. That’s exactly how he graced Latto’s latest single “Put It On Da Floor,” delivering a few bars over its dramatic production. In fact, it does sound pretty similar to the larger-than-life, orchestral, and vivid beats that the Philly MC typically rides. As such, it’s a match made in heaven, and one that will surely have at least a few fans begging for a remix.
“Send him up, go to Vegas with that s**t, you know we ain’t NBA, but we all players with that s**t,” Meek Mill raps over Latto’s track. Furthermore, “Put It On Da Floor” got the Atlanta-bred rapper a lot of love from fans, but also got her in a sticky situation. For those unaware, on one of her bars from the song, she compared a blunt to Coi Leray, sparking a short and resolved beef. Still, fans haven’t stopped speculating on issues between the two, despite the 777 artist clearing up any confusion and showing love to Coi.
Meek Mill Rhymes Over “Put It On Da Floor” By Latto
Regardless of his next musical moves, there are some things within the industry that the Expensive Pain rhymer feels quite apprehensive towards. As such, we don’t know for sure what his career will look like, though we know it’ll be quality and coming from a genuine place, contrasted to a phenomenon that he recently spoke on. Furthermore, Meek Mill shared an A.I.-generated rap song from the perspective of his deceased father. The track garnered a lot of discussion from fans, mostly from those who found it a little too insensitive and bizarre for comfort.
Also, the 36-year-old gave advice to a couple of very young rappers who spit some bars for him. “Why y’all talking that crazy stuff? Y’all gotta rap about what you know,” he told the youngsters concerning their more mature subject matter. It was a bizarre occasion, but nonetheless an important one for kids exposed to hip-hop in all its forms. For more news and the latest updates on Meek Mill, stay up to date on HNHH.
Rap beefs have always been a significant conversation starter in hip hop culture. The causes and seriousness of rap beefs can differ depending on the situation. The nature of the tension arrives in the form of diss tracks, social media disses, or real-life altercations. Many of the high-profile feuds between rappers have ended, leading to reconciliation or artists making a song together.
This is a list of rap beefs that have ended. The nature of each of these situations is drastically different as some were shortly-lived compared to others which took longer to conclude. Some feuds between rappers resulted in more diss tracks, while others were real-life disagreements. These now-over beefs are not listed in any particular order. Take a look at the list below.
JAY-Z & Nas
One of hip hop’s most famous rap beefs is the one between JAY-Z and Nas. Their history runs deep as Jay sampled Nas’s voice for “Dead Presidents II” in 1996. JAY-Z dissed Nas on the track “Takeover” in 2001, which led to Nas releasing the legendary “Ether.” Both of these songs, as well as Jay’s “Super Ugly” response track, were so disrespectful that the winner of their beef is still disputed to this day. Their beef officially ended in 2005 when they performed together in New Jersey. They even joke with each other about their once-serious feud. Since their beef ended, JAY-Z and Nas have collaborated on several tracks, including “Success,” “Black Republicans,” “BBC,” and “Sorry Not Sorry.” Jay also brought out Nas during his B-Sides concert.
Drake & Meek Mill
The beef between Drake and Meek Mill started in 2015 following the release of their song “R.I.C.O.” They had also previously worked together on “Amen” in 2012. In 2015, Meek Mill made the accusation that Drake did not write his own lyrics. This led to the leak of reference tracks of Drake songs performed by Quentin Miller. Drake first hit back with “Charged Up” and then immediately struck Meek with “Back To Back,” with fans declaring Drake the winner upon impact. Meek released a diss that was not well received, which led to another round of sneak disses. The two ended their beef in 2018 and released their collaborative hit single, “Going Bad.”
Chip & Bugzy Malone
Chip and Bugzy Malone’s beef has to hold some sort of record for most diss tracks in one rivalry. The beef started in 2015 via radio freestyles, which escalated to a whopping total of 14 diss tracks between the two. They would out-disrespect each other by filming videos in each other’s hometowns and releasing flagrant disses. While neither of them backed down from a challenge, it was Chip who was the most relentless and warned the scene that he “can’t run out of bars.” It solidified Chip as one of the best in the Grime scene. The beef between Bugzy Malone and Chip officially ended years later in 2021 when the two posed together on Instagram and lent features to each other’s albums. Chip appeared on Bugzy’s “Notorious,” while Bugzy featured on Chip’s “Grown Flex.” Their beef was a legendary time in grime and UK rap culture.
In 2016, Griselda was a unified front consisting of members Westside Gunn, Conway, and Mach-Hommy. They released the Don’t Get Scared Now EP that year, while Mach also appeared on Westside’s classic debut, Flygod. The origins of their disagreements are quite vague, but Mach-Hommy ended up splitting off from Griselda around 2017 following their song “Macho On Coke.” Mach built a prolific career alongside Tha God Fahim and Your Old Droog, while Westside Gunn grew the Griselda brand and audience exponentially during the following years.
There were few exchanges between the two in the music or on social media besides Westside’s jab at Mach and Fahim on 2018’s “Easter Gunday 3.” The two eventually reconciled in 2021. Westside Gunn ended up executive producing Mach-Hommy’s Pray For Haiti album, which was released under the Griselda Records label. Mach also featured on Westside’s Hitler Wears Hermes 8 album.
The beef between Logic and Joyner Lucas started in 2016 when they both appeared on Tech N9ne’s “Sriracha,” and Logic did not perform the expected chopper flow. Joyner expressed frustration towards Logic’s titling of his “1-800-273-8255” song about suicide. He alleged that Logic had copied his 508-507-2209 album title, which also had a song about suicide. The beef was primarily one-sided until Logic subliminally addressed Joyner on “Yuck” in 2018. The two reconciled in 2019 when Logic featured on Joyner’s song “Isis.”
Perhaps hip hop’s most vicious beef, the situation between Gucci Mane and Jeezy was quite serious. Originating back to their hit collaboration, 2005’s “Icy,” the beef escalated both in musical form and real life. Diss tracks were released, bounties were placed on each other, chains were snatched, and Gucci even killed one of Jeezy’s affiliates. Gucci Mane’s “Truth” diss track remains among hip hop’s meanest disses. The feud was one of the most severe and long-standing rap beefs. They attempted to squash their beef multiple times but officially buried the hatchet during their 2020 Verzuz battle, performing “Icy” together. They have also toured together since.
Freddie Gibbs started his career under Jeezy’s CTE label and had a falling out before Freddie went independent and started building his momentum. Since then, Freddie had voiced his beef with Jeezy quite directly on the 2014 song “Real,” one of hip hop’s most cutthroat diss tracks ever. Freddie addressed the beef primarily as he continued to diss Jeezy publicly during the following years. They squashed their beef last year when they ran into each other at an airport. Freddie also apologized to Jeezy and showed his gratitude on the song “Rabbit Vision.”
Cam’ron & Mase
Cam’ron and Mase have had a complicated relationship. The two were childhood friends and worked together in their rap careers. They were in a group called Children of the Corn together, and they featured on each other’s tracks when they achieved mainstream success. Since 1999, Cam’ron and Mase beefed with each other publicly, inside and outside of music. Their beef peaked in 2017 when they exchanged diss tracks towards each other. Since then, Mase and Cam’ron have reconciled, and together, they host a sports talk show called It is What It is. They even recently appeared on a song together with Jadakiss.
Artificial intelligence has progressed rapidly in recent times and has therefore increasingly found its way into our everyday lives. Meek Mill had an encounter with AI recently and it left him scratching his head.
Late last night/early this morning (May 10), he tweeted, “Ai wrote a rap about my dad and this what he said WTF.”
The tweet included a video of an apparently AI-generated rap song, called “Back From The Grave” and credited to Big Robbie; Meek’s father, Robert Parker, died from a gunshot wound when Meek was a child, which Meek rapped about on “Traumatized.”
The lyrics of the AI song go, “I died in a shootout, just tryin’ to feed my fam / But death couldn’t stop me, I’m back in the lab / My son Meek Mill, he’s the light of my life / Gotta watch over him, I’m back from the afterlife / I’m Big Robbie and I’m back with a plan / I’m comin’ back to life to see my fam / My soul’s come alive, I’m gonna make it right / Back from the grave, I’m gonna fight the fight.”
Check out the AI track above.
Meek Mill is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
Showing pride in how far he’s come in life, Meek Mill proudly proclaimed that he’s “taking things far from being a trench baby.”
Now, the musician is using his platform to impact the youth. In a video uploaded to Meek’s Instagram profile, the recording artists took a moment to offer some sound advice to a few young kids who asked to perform a freestyle for him. After the young boys delivered their original bars, Meek asked the group, “Why are y’all talking all that crazy stuff,” referring to the aspiring rappers referencing violence and guns.
Meek added, “Y’all got to rap about y’all life too, though. Y’all got a good one? I need that good stuff.”
To not discourage them, the entertainer closed with an explanation as to why they need to clean up their raps, “You gotta turn your cuss words down so you could get on Spotify, YouTube.”
Although his music often reflects those rough times, the “Dreams & Nightmares” rapper has dedicated himself to helping those who are growing up in the same conditions that he did. The entertainer has donated millions of dollars to Philadelphia schools and has even posted bail for local women to help reunite them with their families through his criminal justice reform-focused non-profit Reform Alliance.

Aside from calendar holidays, you can almost always expect celebrities to go all out on their special day. Meek Mill has chosen to celebrate his birthday in the sky. On May 6, the Philadelphia rapper turned 36 years old. Meek is seen making a toast on his private jet amongst a group of friends. His freshly done cornrows and his blinking jewelry signal his eagerness for his birthday festivities. On Sunday, meek also threw himself an official birthday party accompanied by fans and close friends.
In recent years, Meek Mill has done a host of charity work and has gotten involved in helping the youth. Last week, Meek posted on Instagram a video of young children rapping for him much more mature lyrics for their age. Meek allowed them to finish while giving them advice. “Why yall talking all that crazy stuff? Y’all got to rap about yall life,” he said. This is golden advice from the Two-time platinum rapper. Meek Mill has stayed true to this very style of rap and has had a successful career. His career accolades include two Grammy nominations in addition to a host of certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America. His latest release was the Flamerz 5 Mixtape in 2022.
Meek Mill’s 36th Birthday Party
Moreover, Meek’s community activism continues to expand. His consistent advocacy for prison reform stamps his title as an activist. In March, Meek was called upon by New England Patriots owner, Robert Kraft to take a stand against antisemitism. The campaign was also joined by now-retired NFL veteran, Tom Brady. Additionally, Kraft’s campaign initially started as social media awareness of antisemitic acts happening within the country. The campaign donated $25 million dollars to raise awareness. Meek also joined Kraft for the “March Of The Light” In Poland this past March.
Furthermore, fans can expect more music from Meek Mill soon. In January, he announced his plan to release new music this year. So far, fans are continuing to await what Meek has in store for this year. In celebration of Meek Mill’s 36th birthday, let us know your favorite Meek Mill moments down below!
Philly-born rapper Meek Mill has made it big. The two-time platinum artist has never had an album chart lower than #3. He has become the face and voice of a generation of rappers. His last album, Expensive Pain, came out in 2021 and peaked at #3. He also released a mixtape, Flamers 5, in late 2022.
However, new rappers are always coming up. Arguably, the genre is in a golden generation, with the breakthrough of artists like Doja Cat and Ice Spice. But everyone has to start somewhere. Some people work their way up from Soundcloud, while others are lucky enough to get their voice in front of someone who matters. Now, a video has emerged showing a few young rappers getting some valuable lessons from Meek Mill himself.
Meek Mill Lets Kids Rap For Him
A video has appeared on social media, showing Meek Mill hearing the flows of a trio of young boys. The kid gives it his best shot and he’s not terrible, but he is still, after all, a kid. But Meek’s first piece of advice is about the young MC’s content. “Why y’all talking that crazy stuff? Y’all gotta rap about what you know.” It’s a twist on the classic “write what you know”. After all, you’re strongest when speaking from experience. When it comes to rap, there’s no point rapping about the hardships you’ve faced when you’ve not faced any. Even if you’re life has been good, there is always something to draw from.
The kid keeps going, with one of his friends backing up. Again Meek has advice. “You gotta tone down on your cuss words if you wanna get on Spotify, YouTube,” Meek can be heard saying. Is the video a little cringe? Sure. But these kids are getting an amazing opportunity. So many artists have to fail and find out for themselves when they try to break into the rap game. But this chance meeting with Meek Mill could change the way these kids approach music. Maybe one day we’ll be writing articles about them.
