Rolling Loud Portugal 2023 concluded on a high note, delivering an unforgettable finale that celebrated the global influence of hip-hop. The festival’s unique beachside location provided the perfect backdrop for a diverse lineup of international rap artists. Meek Mill headlined the closing night, delivering a captivating performance filled with empowering anthems. The star-studded roster also featured prominent UK acts like Digga D, D-Block Europe, Tion Wayne, and Unknown T, alongside American names such as Gucci Mane and Duke Deuce.

However, one of the most memorable moments came from streamer/rapper iShowSpeed, who joined forces with DJ Scheme to perform their new single “Portuginies.” The track, infused with Brazilian funk influences, showcased iShowSpeed’s bilingual skills, seamlessly blending English and Portuguese lyrics. Rolling Loud Portugal proved once again to be a global celebration of hip-hop, uniting artists and fans from different backgrounds and showcasing the genre’s universal appeal.

Reese LaFlare Mocked For Hating On IShowSpeed Rolling Loud Set

Reese LaFlare has hit out at Rolling Loud, claiming that the promotion refuses to book him over a previous beef with Lil Uzi Vert. It was a while ago, but LaFlare and Vert beefed back in 2016. Punches were reportedly thrown in an altercation at the Day N Night Festival. However, the beef appeared to be quashed in 2018, with Vert wishing LaFlare well on Twitter. Furthermore, LaFlare posted a picture with Vert from a Drake party.

The thing that appears to have set LaFlare off is a surprise performance by streamer IShowsSpeed at Rolling Loud Portugal. Speed is a controversial figure, known for his eye-catching antics on stream, a love of Cristiano Ronaldo, and several instances of off-color remarks. He was permanently banned from all Riot Games products after a sexist rant on stream in 2022. He further got into trouble after yelling “Konnichiwa” at a Chinese man while attending the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Despite these controversies, IShowSpeed remains on the biggest names in streaming. That, somehow, landed him a spot on the Rolling Loud billing.

LaFlare Objects To Speed Billing

“They put this N***a on stage but Stopped having me perform at Rolling loud because me and Uzi had “Beef” once upon a time ….. Hoe shit,” LaFlare commented on Twitter, quote-tweeting a clip from Speed’s set. However, the tweet likely didn’t get the response that LaFlare was looking for. As it turned out, most people either didn’t know who he was. Meanwhile, others argued that maybe he just wasn’t popular enough for Rolling Loud right now. Reese, who has never released a studio album, last released music with Diva Vol. 4.

He’s latest song dropped 2 days ago and got like 800 views, what is he talking about?😅,” one person asked. “To be fair I don’t think anyone knows who he is so make a hit and stop hating on Speed,” added another. “they stopped putting you on stage because nobody knows you, your set would be empty asf..,” argued a third. “Name 5 Reese la flare songs *gunpoint*”, added someone else. So maybe it was less about beefing with Uzi and more about just not being notable enough to not even undercard a regional Rolling Loud.

Meek Mill Proclaims “Free Tory Lanez” During Rolling Loud Portugal Performance

The case of Tory Lanez against Megan Thee Stallion over a shooting has been one of the most high-profile and divisive stories in the rap world in recent years. While many stand by Megan’s story, others are more quick to be skeptical, or instead focus on how the Canadian artist has been affected by all this. Moreover, the latest to do so in very public fashion is Meek Mill, who did so during his Rolling Loud Portugal set. In fact, it was a timely declaration as he did so right after he played a brief part of their collaboration “Litty.” “Free Tory Lanez,” the Philly rapper proclaimed after the song wrapped up.

Also, this is quite the interesting development considering that both artists had beef in the past. However, it seems like all the legal trouble eventually convinced Meek Mill to forego his past issues with Tory Lanez. Of course, this statement during a festival performance probably won’t sit well with many fans out there, regardless of who they listen to more or even at all. Still, it’s unfortunately quite a popular sentiment that takes aim at Megan Thee Stallion’s story and presumed injustice rather than at the justice system as a whole.

Meek Mill Voices Support For Tory Lanez

Either way, it’s quite the complicated issue that brings into question consequence, just sentences, and more. Speaking of sentencing, Tory Lanez will receive his on August 7, or at least that was the latest update as of writing this article. Furthermore, we make that distinction thanks to the delays that the artist faced in his sentencing process following a guilty conviction. Lanez has maintained his innocence all throughout this process, and despite his legal team’s efforts, he could not reverse the ruling based on the evidence presented.

Meanwhile, Meek recently let fans know that they would be hearing a lot more from him in the future. After speaking on his lack of releases this decade, he announced that he has four projects on the way. Maybe we’ll hear him tackle these themes on wax, which would be a much heavier stance to take than just a comment during a show. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Meek Mill and Tory Lanez.

Travis Scott To Headline Next Year’s Rolling Loud Portugal

Rolling Loud Portugal announced yesterday (Dec. 6) that Travis Scott will headline their 2023 festival. Kicking off next summer, the “Goosebumps” rapper will perform his slew of hits for the overseas crowd.

This past July, Rolling Loud Portugal made its debut after postponing the festival in past years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. J. Cole, Future, and A$AP Rocky headlined, with Key Glock, Flo Milli, Lil Baby and more sharing their hits with fans at the event.

Additionally, Rolling Loud revealed last month that Scott will headline their California event next year. Future, Lil Wayne, and Playboi Carti are also leading the show, with dozens of other musicians also performing at the Inglewood-based festival next March.

Though Scott hasn’t released a solo album since his 2018 project Astroworld, the Houston rapper is keeping fans satisfied with his recent collaborations.

The 31-year-old also debuted “Down In Atlanta” last month, which features mega-producer Pharrell. He will also be on SZA’s S.O.S. album, which drops this Friday.

In November 2021, Scott came under fire after a crowd surge at his Astroworld Festival resulted in ten deaths. Speaking out in a statement soon after the festival, Scott shared that he was “devastated” by the tragic incident.

“My prayers go out to the families and all of those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival,” he added. “Houston PD has my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life. I am committed to working together with the Houston community to heal and support the families in need.”

Per Variety, Rolling Loud California will mark Scott’s first festival show since the Astroworld tragedy.

Rappers from both Britain and the United States made their Rolling Loud debuts, including Skepta and Central Cee, while American superstars Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, and Jack Harlow made their impact.
