What Happened Between Drake And Billie Eilish?

Drake’s chart-topping album For All The Dogs finds him name-checking several people, such as 21 Savage, and maybe several others, like Kanye West. Many are convinced that “Fear Of Heights” is about Rihanna (for good reason), while Drake directly referenced the commentary surrounding his support of Millie Bobby Brown and their large age gap in “Another Late Night” featuring Lil Yachty. But people have taken more issue with Yachty’s evocation of Billie Eilish in the same song.

“I let her go, she fine as hell, but baby wasn’t stylish (Yeah),” Yachty raps in his verse. “She had big t*ts like Billie Eilish but she couldn’t sing (Drip).” Eilish subtly acknowledged the unsolicited objectification of her body — unfortunately, she’s been dealing with unwanted over-sexualization of her body for years — and it’s especially confusing because there hadn’t been any public evidence that there’s any bad blood between Eilish and Yachty or between Eilish and Drake.

BuzzFeed News did the dirty work of chronicling Eilish’s friendship with Drake. In 2019, during the third iteration of her annual “Same Interview” with Vanity Fair, Eilish complimented Drake as the “nicest dude.” She shared they’d only ever texted, but she was surprised by how nice he was because “he’s at the level where he doesn’t need to be nice, but he is.”

At the time, Eilish was closing in on her 18th birthday, and Drake had just turned 33. As with Millie Bobby Brown, people quickly pointed out how it felt “creepy” for Drake to be texting with underage girls. BuzzFeed News also resurfaced photo proof that Eilish has known Yachty since at least 2018.

That makes Yachty’s “Another Late Night” bar all the more confounding. It would appear that both rappers had gone out of their way in the past to be kind to an up-and-coming Eilish, so why would Yachty go out of his way to insult her now? Nothing blatant has happened to suggest a rift. Maybe it’s a private joke between friends who all happen to lead hyper-public lives; none of us can claim to know where these three currently stand with each other. Regardless, this isn’t the first time Drake has come under fire for housing misogynistic lyrics on an album.

Did Lil Yachty Diss Lil Uzi Vert? Alleged Uncensored Leak Says Yes

For the most part, Lil Yachty manages to stay out of the drama surrounding him in the music industry. Like any famous person, though, he can’t totally avoid controversy. Earlier this month, the Georgia-born lyricist was accused of throwing shade at fellow rapper Lil Uzi Vert. The rumours began after Yachty debuted a new song on Drake’s Table For One Sirius XM radio show. It included some eyebrow-raising bars that were censored to shield the target’s name from listening ears.

“No matter how bad they want the collab, I ain’t friends with U–,” the version that was played on air goes. When hip-hop heads took to Twitter to insinuate that Lil Boat could be shading the “Just Wanna Rock” hitmaker, he defensively shot back at them. “[You] guys are delusional,” Yachty told internet sleuths at the time. “[You] ni**as go around living your life acting like [you] know us,” he further ranted. “S**t is od weird, y’all be grown men too… On here tryna piece s**t together, don’t be knowin’ nothing. Get a job.”

Lil Yachty’s Alleged LUV Diss Surfaces Online

However, on Tuesday (October 17) afternoon, an alleged snippet of the same song – without the name censoring – began circulating. In the video above, Yachty clearly sings Uzi’s name before the 10-second mark (if the leak if legit, that is). “And he was fighting for his life saying he didn’t diss [them] 😂😂,” one Twitter user laughed while pointing out the irony. “This could be AI, right?” another person speculated. We don’t have clear answers just yet, but it likely won’t be long until the “Act Up” writer speaks on the situation.

The rumours of beef between Lil Yachty and LUV from earlier this month were quickly overshadowed that same weekend by gossip about a potential marriage between the Philadelphia native and City Girl JT. We still don’t know the exact status of their relationship, but a noteworthy change to her IG profile gave us an interesting hint. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Here Are The Features On Kid Cudi’s Upcoming ‘Insano’ Album

After he received less than favorable feedback from fans regarding his teaser snippet for the song “Flex,” Kid Cudi returned to the creativity drawing board. Unfortunately, extra time was needed to make that musical pivot so that Cudi could rethink his approach for his forthcoming album, Insano. Ultimately, he postponed the project, which was slated to drop in June. Due to the temporary album setback, Cudi has fed fans other collaborations, including a campaign with Star Trek and a song with Lil Durk.

Thanks to his recent concert, supporters have more insight into what the future holds for the body of work. Here are the features on Cudi’s upcoming ‘Insano’ album. Following Cudi’s last Cudder’s Clubhouse performance at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York, on Friday, October 15, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm a handful of collaborations that could appear on the project.

Cudi confirmed Pusha T and Travis Scott during an exchange with a fan on the platform. According to HotNewHipHop, other suspected cameos include ASAP Rocky, Young Thug, and Lil Yachty.

Cudi felt generous during his online browsing and confirmed that Insano will still be released in January 2024.

Several pop-up dates remain for Cudi’s intimate show, including stops in Dallas and Houston, Texas; more details will be revealed then.

Lil Yachty Drops By For His “On The Radar Freestyle”

Lil Yachty’s run in 2023 has been one of the most fun and incredible moments in hip-hop. It is really hard to picture anyone else who is over him right now. The consistency, but also the quality of the output the Georgia artist has been giving us cannot be ignored. One of the most shining examples was his recent surprise track with J. Cole. “The Secret Recipe” sees Yachty rapping like his life depends on it with Cole coming in the second to deliver another great verse.

What also has to be said about Yachty has been his willingness to try new beats and instrumentals. The aforementioned track featured an Alchemist-like production. His genre-straddling record Let’s Start Here. featured many different genres. Again, on top of that, his performances have been animated, and colorful. Also, when he is rapping, he is going all out. That is the case here with his “On The Radar Freestyle.”

It’s the Rolls skrrter, b**** tipper, drank sipper
Yeah, it’s the Balenci’ bandit, f*** n****s can’t stand it

For the most part, the project is growing on people, but where it ranks in Drake’s discography is still debatable. Cole, “Calling For You,” featuring 21 Savage, “Rich Baby Daddy” featuring Sexyy Red and SZA, and “Another Late Night,” featuring Lil Yachty — to name a few. Now, “Another Late Night” just got an official music video and it’s directed and edited by Cole Bennett.

Drake & Yachty Show Off Their Dance Moves

The track’s chorus, voiced by Drake, sets the mood perfectly as he croons, “Just another late night with my b***h,” emphasizing the essence of a cozy and memorable night. Lil Yachty takes the spotlight next with his verse, showcasing his dance moves as he steps into the frame. The collaboration between Drake and Lil Yachty in “Another Late Night” is a testament to their chemistry as a duo. The fusion of Drake’s smooth vocals and Lil Yachty’s lively verses creates a musical synergy that’s both catchy and compelling. It’s definitely one of the standouts of the project.

The video has garnered an overwhelmingly positive response from fans, who are actively embracing Cole Bennett’s remarkable journey as a director. Many have rallied behind his creative evolution, expressing a deep sense of pride in witnessing his remarkable growth in the industry and him working alongside Drake. “Proud of you Cole, you’re paving the way for a lot of us videographers!” one person wrote. “Drake has been dominating the Hip Hop conversation for almost 15 straight years. It’s so impressive to watch. Love this for Cole also,” another person commented. Meanwhile, it’s good to know that more videos for the project may be on the way. We may not be hearing anything new from Drake for a while, as the rapper has said he’ll be spending time away from music to focus on his health. How are you liking the album so far?

That Cole Bennett-Directed Drake Video Has Finally Arrived, And It’s For ‘Another Late Night’ Featuring Lil Yachty

Hours before For All The Dogs arrived, Drake set the table by releasing “8AM In Charlotte” alongside an adorable video co-starring his nearly six-year-old son, Adonis, who happens to be the artist of the album’s cover art. And tonight (October 6), Drake served fans some dessert to cap off an eventful release day: The video for “Another Late Night” featuring Lil Yachty, directed by Lyrical Lemonade’s Cole Bennett.

Bennett directed and edited the three-minute video, shot in Maple Ridge in Vancouver, Canada. It has a Christmas-adjacent theme. A Christmas carol is the first sound we hear, followed by someone saying, “Christmas came early.” Christmas lights are everywhere, fully coating a luxurious car, while Lil Boat and Drake’s bars beam bright into the night.

On October 1 — the 10-year anniversary of Lyrical Lemonade — Bennett detailed his first-ever collaboration with Drake while visiting with Kids Take Over — putting fans on high alert.

“Drake had a few off-days in Vancouver, and he wanted to shoot a video while he was out there,” the prolific director said. “We’re working on a few different projects right now, one of which was to knock something out in Vancouver. With an artist of his size, you have to be aware of — you know, just, we looked at a few locations in Vancouver, it was a little hot. … The Maple Ridge location felt the most tucked away and ducked off, and it was surrounded by trees, and it just felt like the safest place to do it.”

He added, “I’ve known [Drake] for a few years. We’ve talked about working for a few years now, and I just knew it was gonna be when the time was right. I was supposed to do the ‘Search & Rescue‘ video.”

While this marks the first time Bennett and Drake have professionally linked, Bennett previously directed Lil Yachty’s videos for “Poland” and “Strike (Holster).”

Drake celebrated For All The Dogs by performing his It’s All A Blur Tour at his hometown Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena, where he’ll return for another show on Saturday night (October 7).

Drake’s ‘For All The Dogs’: Here Are All The Features And Producers On The Album

The journey toward Drake’s For All The Dogs lasted a bit longer than expected. After announcing it over the summer during his It’s All A Blur Tour with 21 Savage, rumor had it that the project would initially arrive on August 25. However, that day came and went without its release and Lil Yachty blamed fans for believing a date that was not announced by Drake himself. Well, Drake later announced an official release date of September 22 for For All The Dogs, but he was later forced to delay it to October 6, in order to complete the project and not cancel any tour dates to do so.

At long last, as promised, Drake delivered For All The Dogs on October 6. It was made available to stream at 6am EST as opposed to the traditional time of 12am EST, but nonetheless, the album is here. It features 23 songs and appearances from Teezo Touchdown, 21 Savage, J. Cole, Yeat, Snoop Dogg, SZA (two times), JeRonelle, PartyNextDoor, Chief Keef, Bad Bunny, Sexyy Redd, and Lil Yachty.

Lil Yachty Is Facing Online Criticism Over His Tattoos, But He Had A Perfect, Humble Response

Lil Yachty always has the people talking. Whether it be about new music — like his new J. Cole collaboration “The Secret Recipe” — or if he’s the subject of a new meme, the internet is always abuzz for the Atlanta rapper. Lately, Yachty’s tattoos have been the subject of much conversation.

A picture of Yachty shirtless, with his tattoos in full view. Some of these tattoos include a compass, two replicas of figures designed by KAWS, and the word “Concrete” across his chest. Of course, some beholders couldn’t help but crack a joke.

“rappers spend so much money on jewelry but never on a good tattoo artist,” said one Twitter user.

Yachty caught wind of the Tweet, but it appears he’s in good spirits over the joke.

He quoted the tweet with a video of boxer Adrian Broner, saying, “Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah… I ain’t gonna lie, I’m getting cooked.”

Yachty is currently on the road for his Field Trip Tour. In an interview with The Recording Academy before the tour kicked off, Yachty expressed his gratitude for the way people have received his new music, especially with his psychedelic shift on his latest album, Let’s Start Here.

“It did what it was supposed to do, which was transcend people,” said Yachty of Let’s Start Here. “If you are on that side of the world and you’re into that type of stuff, it did its job, its course — the same course as [Pink Floyd’s] Dark Side Of The Moon, which is to take you on a journey, an experience.

While Yachty’s tattoos may have garnered a mixed response, most of us can agree upon the quality of his music.
