Mase Addresses Ozempic Rumors As Fans React To His Slim Freestyle Look

Mase showed that he’s still got it, dropping a killer new freestyle on his It Is What It Is sports talk show with Cam’ron. However, a lot of fans didn’t even hear his bars because the video made them ask one question: since when was he so skinny? Moreover, a lot of folks questioned this weight loss online, even accusing the rapper of taking Ozempic to slim down. What’s funny, though, is that these skeptics would’ve had an answer if they had just listened to the show. “I signed up with this coach, he just put me on an alkaline diet. I’m only eating fruit, vegetables and water for now,” he remarked on the show, denying the use of any drugs or medication to lose weight.

Elsewhere on It Is What It Is, Mase and Cam’ron also get around to telling some wacky stories. “Me and L start talking and the conversation goes super left, you know,” the former said about an alleged incident in which Big L once set him up for a robbery. “Next thing I know, I’m in The Tunnel [a nightclub] and the n***a Fat Joe comes up to me. A couple months later, we get into it about something. I think it was over a chick or something. I get around the corner on 140th and I walk up 140th on Seventh to 141st and a Spanish n***a just run outta nowhere like, ‘Give it up. I’ma kill both of y’all n***as.’”

Mase Denies Ozempic Rumors

But Mase isn’t the only lyrical threat on It Is What It Is, as Cam’ron has spit some fire on it before. These freestyles even furthered beef with folks like Melyssa Ford and Anthony Edwards. As for Ford, their spat concerns an allegation she made that Killa Cam may have had relations with an underage sex worker. Since then, it’s been gloves off for the two.

Fortunately for Mase, he’s in a much more chill place for the most part. Many of their discussions are purely observational, such as their assessments of Caitlin Clark in the WNBA. If they do have something direct and personal to talk about, such as alleged Ozempic use, they’ll do so with each other. But at least they’ve still got their bars on point in any case.

Mase Proves His Rapping Skills Haven’t Faded With Impressive New Freestyle

Mase and Cam’ron made their return to their It Is What It Is sports talk show recently, but don’t think that this new endeavor took away their rapping skills. Moreover, the former came through with an impressive new freestyle, and you can see how people loved it in the replies of the post below. It goes to show that these two New York lyricists still have that spark in them after all these years, even if many see them as missing their peak powers these days. We wonder if they will engage with more musical material in the near future, as it’s always a treat when they can cross things over and show off multiple skills at once.

Furthermore, they already received a lot of acclaim for their dynamism on It Is What It Is and for their vast sports knowledge. But Mase isn’t the only one who can turn things into a lyrical onslaught, as Cam’ron has also barred up on some previous episodes, too. Either way, we’re sure that they will have a lot of great content to share and a lot more talent to show off. Maybe they could even have a battle one day centered around a sports debate topic…

Mase’s New Freestyle

Wishful thinking aside, we’re sure that Cam’ron and Mase will tell many more stories on It Is What It Is. One recent recollection concerned the latter’s claims that Big L once set him up for a robbery. “Me and L start talking and the conversation goes super left, you know,” he recalled.

Meanwhile, apart from his and Mase’s tales on their show, Cam’ron also shares stories via Instagram. “Now they lock two of my n***as up, I start talking s**t,” he said of a tour situation in which police raided the Dipset bus. “‘I don’t care what the bail is, I’m bailing n***as out.’ The bail was $4.8 million. Oh my God, I was sick. But I bailed n***as out, though, and everybody was good. Peace.”

Big Sean Flows With Remarkable Ease In A New Freestyle For “Complex”

Big Sean is on a hot streak to reinforce his new album Better Me Than You, and not even the project’s release could slow him down. Moreover, he just joined Complex‘s elevator bank in New York City to drop a brand-new freestyle on Thursday (August 29) over a Hit-Boy-produced beat. The Detroit rapper’s most impressive feature here is his dominance of flow, weaving in and out of similar pockets without missing a beat: pun most definitely intended. Lyrically, he dives into his staunch self-confidence, lack of support in the rap game, and how he has changed as a person and an artist.

Furthermore, the reactions to this new freestyle are about as impressed and compelled as those to Big Sean’s new album. Better Me Than You was a hit with fans, albeit a failed attempt to convince any haters that his music is worth checking out. But those naysayers are in an ignorant minority, because there’s a lot of soul, introspection, hunger, and determination on this LP to nurture your listening sessions this week. All that’s left to see is whether or not this prolific run will continue past this point, or if we’ve already reached the quantity and quality peak of the Sean Don’s 2024 offerings.

Big Sean’s Complex Freestyle: Watch

Elsewhere, many fans expected Big Sean to plant his flag in the great rap beef of 2024, but he’s got other priorities in mind when it comes to the likes of Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Recently, he jokingly tried to imitate Drizzy’s “duck face” selfies online, which was pretty funny if not distinctly out of character for hip-hop these days, especially when it comes to The Boy. But “The Baddest” MC doesn’t seem interested in commenting on that showdown or feeding into its social media frenzy. That’s commendable in and of itself.

Meanwhile, it’s heartening to see Big Sean overcome many of his personal struggles and insecurities through this cathartic release. “When you make art, you put your heart into this s**t,” he expressed during a recent and emotive IG Live session. “When I had COVID last week, I was down. I was still working on the album. When I last dropped an album, it was COVID. I was excited to plan my release party, I was excited to do all of that. [My mother] was giving me them words. And I was just like, look, I can keep working on some s**t and make it exactly how I wanted. But I’d be pushing it back forever.”

Big Sean’s Album Has A Release Date And Twitter Worries Kendrick Lamar Will Overshadow It

Big Sean seems like a nice guy. By all accounts, the rapper is well-liked and respected throughout the industry. There are seemingly only two rappers who don’t like him, but both have gone out of their way to steal his shine. Kanye West dissed Big Sean in a Drink Champs interview, and one of his fans leaked the rapper’s new album. Kendrick Lamar, meanwhile, has allegedly dissed the rapper on multiple occasions. To make matters worse, Lamar has a habit of overshadowing Big Sean’s releases. And social media is worried it’s going to happen again.

Sean Don announced that his new album, Better Me Than You, would be dropping August 9th. It was an exciting development, and a smart one given the recent leaks. The rapper released an official trailer for the album, which teased an unreleased beat. The feedback was positive, with many rooting for Sean to score a major comeback. Some, however, looked at Kendrick Lamar’s track record. Kendrick Lamar was the one who stomped on the release on Sean’s “Precision” single by dropping the “Like That” the same exact day. Then there was “Control” in 2013, which drew so much online attention for Lamar’s verse that it overshadowed the album it was supposed to be on. Never mind the fact that Dot calls Sean out on his own song.

Big Sean’s Release Date Coincides With A K. Dot Theory

Even when Kendrick Lamar is not stepping on Big Sean’s rollouts, he remains a talking point. The latter dropped a freestyle on July 16, and it went viral because listeners though he was dissing K. Dot. DJHed had to clarify that Sean was not, but by that point, the narrative had taken over. It’s also worth noting that Kendrick Lamar has an album rumored for release in August. The jacket Lamar wears in the “Not Like Us” video has an 8/8/2024 pendant, which many believe to be the official release date. If true, then Big Sean would once again be outdone by his Compton peer.

Big Sean’s New Album Leaked By Kanye West Stan After Alleged Diss

Big Sean has really dominated the news cycle over the last 24 hours. The rapper dropped an On the Radar freestyle on July 16, which seemed harmless enough. Then fans started picking apart the bars, and theorizing that Sean could be targeting another rapper. Kendrick Lamar’s name was brought up, then debunked. Then Kanye West was mentioned, after DJHed claimed Sean was targeting a Gemini rapper. The possibility of a West diss proved to be enough to disrupt Big Sean’s entire album rollout.

Only July 17, a user named bigseandon811 posted an album’s worth of new material from Big Sean. Along with the file was a message clarifying why they chose to stomp on the rapper’s rollout. To the surprise of no one, it was Kanye West related. “Since he wanna disrespect Ye so much, here’s the album,” the user wrote. “F*ck him and his whole team.” Other users questioned whether the audio recordings were legit, but bigseandon811 provided some additional information. They clarified that “Precision,” Sean’s lead single, was on the album but not in the leaked files.

Big Sean’s Leaker Claims Ye Gave His Blessing

To further strengthen the case for the leak being real, the user listed some of Big Sean’s features. “This was the album as of couple months ago,” they explained. “Features Nas, Dream, Jhene and some other people.” They even provided an alternative album titled: Better Me Than You. The files and the message was taken down, but not before several fans downloaded the album for themselves. Bigseandon811 also claimed that West was the one who urged him to leak the album. It’s brutal retaliation if true, given that Kanye West was the one who ruined his relationship Big Sean in the first place.

West went on Drink Champs in 2021 and claimed that signing Sean to GOOD Music was the “worst thing” he’s ever done. Big Sean took the criticism in stride, but later told that he was deeply hurt by what West said. “At first, I thought it was hilarious. I thought the sh*t was funny,” he said during his own Drink Champs appearance. “Then I took it [personally].” It got worse from there. He told the hosts that West owed him $6 million, as well as ownership of his masters. The leak, while not orchestrated by Ye himself, is not going to help smooth things over.

Big Sean Recreates Iconic LeBron James Meme Amid Kendrick Lamar Beef Rumors

Big Sean recreated an iconic meme of LeBron James in the wake of fans theorizing that he is beefing with Kendrick Lamar. The meme shows him taking a selfie with the caption: “Smiling through it all I can’t believe this is my life.” The rumors stem from comments Sean made about rap beef during a freestyle for On the Radar on July 16. “N***as looking for engagement like they got they knee bent/I got better things to do then find someone to beef with,” he rapped. Fans quickly assumed he was referring to Kendrick Lamar’s feud with Drake.

DJ Hed later came out and confirmed the lyric wasn’t referring to Lamar. “I talked to Sean,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter). “The bar was ‘I got better things to do then find someone to beef with.’ And it was not for Dot. Bar was directed at a different Gemini.”

Despite the clarification, the rumors continued to spread and Sean came out with a response on his own X account. “Yall goin wit so many narratives,” he wrote in a since-deleted post caught by AllHipHop. “Im talking to da haters who just keep finding something to point out they dont like bout me. Its not even worth explaining tho im a just focus on the music.” He further added: “So many people turned they back on me, so i appreciate the ones who stayed down. Big Sean Calls Out DJ Akademiks For Pushing Rap Beef Narratives

What a difference a freestyle makes. Big Sean has made a point of staying out of rap beef in 2024. The artist has a reputation for being well-liked within the industry. Even when he gets criticized by others, like his former label boss, Kanye West, Sean seems to take the high road. This is what made his On the Radar freestyle such a surprise. Big Sean dropped some combative bars over a classic Timbaland beat, and the internet theorized that he was targeting Kendrick Lamar. It made sense, given how many times Dot has targeted Sean on record.

This theory proved to be false. DJ Hed claimed that he talked with Big Sean about the freestyle, and the bars were aimed at a different Gemini rapper. Then, the Detroit rapper decided to set the record straight. He tweeted that he was merely going at his haters on the freestyle. “Y’all going with so many narratives, I’m talking to da haters,” he wrote. “Who just keep finding something to point out they don’t like about me.” Big Sean went on to lament the fact that he had to explain his bars. “It’s not even worth explaining tho,” he added. “Ima just focus on the music.”

The venting then moved over to Instagram. Big Sean commented on a DJ Akademiks post suggesting he was target Dot and tried, yet again, to clear the air. “Ak you know I f*ck wit you,” he wrote in the comment section. “But I’m laughing cause you know that tweet n the video don’t got nothing to do with each other lol.” The tweet that Sean alludes to was posted earlier in the day. “N f*ck these b*tch a*s n**gaz,” he wrote. “Every one of them.” It’s easy to see why fans interpreted the tweet as being connected to the combative On the Radar freestyle. That said, the rapper implies that Akademiks knew information that the the rest of us didn’t.

To further emphasize the fact that he’s got no beef, Big Sean recreated an iconic LeBron James meme. “Smiling through it,” he wrote on his IG Story. “Can’t believe this is my life.” The rapper is in a good place after revealing that he quit drinking. “I stopped drinking in 2022 cause that sh*t was just f*cking me up,” he said via IG Live. “It’s a depressant so if you dealing with any anxiety like me — I always be thinking about what I gotta do. How I gotta do it, what’s next et cetera.” He’s in a much better place, and this place evidently, has no room for beef.

Big Sean Dissed A Gemini Rapper, But Claims It’s Not Kendrick Lamar

Big Sean had a controversial Tuesday. The rapper dropped off a freestyle for On the Radar, and while he skated, his flow took a backseat to his bars. Sean sent shots at an unnamed rapper, taking them to task for relying on beef to get attention. “N**gas looking for engagement like they got they knee bent,” the Sean Don raps. “I gotta better things to do than find someone to beef with.” Fans assumed the target was Kendrick Lamar, given the complicated history between both artists. Evidently, it’s someone else.

DJ Hed took to Twitter shortly after the freestyle was released to set the record straight. He claimed he talked to the rapper about his subliminals, and their intended target. “I talked to Sean,” DJ Hed wrote. “The bar was, ‘I got better things to do then find someone to beef with.’” The hip-hop personality then clarified that Big Sean and Kendrick Lamar do not have a problem. “It was not for Dot,” he added. “Bar was directed at a different Gemini.” If what DJ Hed says is true, than the rest of Sean’s freestyle isn’t aimed at Lamar, either.

DJ Hed Claims That Big Sean Clarified The Confusion

Sean Don clearly has someone in his crosshairs, however. DJ Hed confirmed as much when he stated that the rapper was going after another Gemini. The bars: “Difference is I’m an activist and you drink actavis and I’m back acclimated” definitely reeks of disrespect. There’s also the unreleased verse that Big Sean teased on Instagram on July 15. Once again, bars seem to be aimed in the direction of the gemini who is not K. Dot. A quick roundup of the rappers who’s birthdays fall between May 20 and June 20 turns up a few potential candidates. We seriously doubt the rapper is going at the neck of Ice Cube or Iggy Azalea or flute convertee Andre 3000.

A rapper who does seem like a logical candidate, though, is Kanye West. Sean was signed to West for the majority of his career. He was one of GOOD Music’s biggest hitmakers during the 2010s. In recent years, however, West has disparaged Sean in the media. During a 2021 appearance on Drink Champs, West claimed that signing Sean was the “worst thing” he’d ever done as a label boss. Sean admitted that he was hurt by the comments. To make matters worse, the rapper was owed $6 million from his label deal when all was said and done. Kanye West might not be the target, but he’s the most likely candidate.

Big Sean Seemingly Disses Kendrick Lamar In Aggressive New Freestyle

Big Sean is officially in album mode. The rapper dropped a teaser single a few months back. He also teased a bunch of new songs on Instagram Live, assuring fans that they will get to hear the full versions on the album. Sean’s latest move, however, may prove to be his most attention-grabbing. The rapper did an On the Radar freestyle on July 16, and appeared to throw multiple shots at Kendrick Lamar. The two have been less than friendly for over a decade, but he appears to feel a particular way about Dot’s recent behavior.

Big Sean doesn’t mention anybody by name. He does, however, make reference to someone who uses beef to draw more attention to themselves. This is something Kendrick Lamar has been accused of doing throughout his battle with Drake. “N**gas looking for engagement like they got they knee bent,” he raps.
“I gotta better things to do than find someone to beef with.” Sean also takes aim at the activism of this unnamed target. He seemingly claims that he does more for the hip-hop community than this other rapper ever did. “Difference is I’m an activist and you drink actavis and I’m back acclimated,” he adds. “And Imma need my cut off top it’s decapitated.”

Big Sean Disses A Rapper For Capitalizing On Beef

To be clear, Big Sean has claimed that there’s no bad blood between him and Kendrick Lamar. Fans think the rapper has been targeted multiple times since the release of “Control,” in which Lamar called out Sean on his own song. As recent as 2023, leaked K. Dot verses have seemingly been targeted at Sean. The Detroit superstar addressed the alleged subliminals during a 2020 episode of Pull Up. “This whole Big Sean, Kendrick beef was going on,” he told host Joe Budden. “It was something I wish I would have spoken up about because there was nothing.”

When the aforementioned 2023 leak surfaced, Big Sean again took the high ground. “Ain’t no diss,” he told TMZ. “If it was a diss, it would have been a diss… If it was a diss, it would have been another diss.” Sean has said all the right things with regards to his relationship with Lamar. That being said, the Drake beef has transpired since Sean last spoke about his Compton peer. It’s possible Sean’s feelings about Lamar have shifted since the release of “Euphoria,” “Meet the Grahams,” and the rest of the Dot disses. It definitely seems like there’s more to unpack between the two rappers.

Common Freestyles Over Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” & Fans Are Split On It

Without a shadow of a doubt, Common is one of the most technically-sound writers we have in hip-hop history. His wordplay, flows, and tremendous storytelling are all of the skills that separate him from most of the competition. It is part of the reason why fans of the genre as so thrilled to be receiving his new album with producer Pete Rock, The Auditorium Vol. 1, on July 12. The 15-track collaborative effort has four incredible singles out from it right now and it is looking like it will be a top-tier LP for 2024. In the meantime, though, Common is creating more buzz for their album by providing a freestyle over Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us”.

The future rap song of the year has the everyone around the genre in a chokehold right now. It is everywhere and thanks to its viral music video, it is looking like it will be around well after these next five months. With Common bringing his philosophical bars to the West Coast anthem, what could possibly go wrong? Well, it turns out a lot did, unfortunately. Fans did praise the Chicago veteran’s overall performance, but there were also a few skeptics out there.

Fans Claim This Common “Freestyle” Might Be An Unreleased Snippet

Most of the complaints centered around the fact that the words felt recited and ones that might belong to another song. Others were even claiming that Common rapped some of these bars at the Roots Picnic from last month. He did in fact hit the stage in Philadelphia and the joints he did play were made with Pete Rock, according to Billboard. Additionally, Com’s flows are pretty off compared to the tempo of the instrumental on “Not Like Us” and the hype man in the back seemed to know all of the adlibs. Maybe this was Common’s intent, especially with the album coming in just four days.

What are your thoughts on this “Not Like Us” freestyle by Common? Do you agree with the fans that this might be an unreleased song snippet? Even though it is not a conventional off-the-dome rap session, was it a great set of verses? Are you excited for him and Pete Rock’s upcoming project, The Auditorium Vol. 1? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Common and Kendrick Lamar.
